PSE 11 update ACR w/no internet

I want to update to ACR 7.4 on a machine with PSE 11 and no internet. Can this be done? If so, could somebody please supply directions.

Go to location, C:/Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Adobe/Plug-Ins/Elements 11/File Formats
You wll find the Camera raw plugin over there.
So download your plug-in somewhere else, and copy paste it in this folder.
<please do keep a backup of Camera Raw plugin present for future use>

  • PSE 10 update to ACR 7.3?

    I purchased PSE 10 not long ago, and PSE 11 was released soon after.  I recently purchased a Canon G15 for when I don't wish to carry my DSLR and lenses.  PSE 10 won't upload G15 raw images.  I have tried DNG, but the download incorrectly tells me that there are no photo files in any folder I might select.  Will PSE be updated to support ACR 7.3, which I understand supports G15 raw files?

    Yes, I downloaded the 7.3 version of DNG converter.  I tried again, and this time was able to convert some photos.  It's a pretty clunky and indirect solution.
    It seems unfair that I purchased a current edition program in mid-August, bought a camera four months later, and the program won't support it directly and as designed.  My program went from current to an unsupported orphan in the (relative) snap of a shutter!  It would seem that Adobe should support a program, and it's customers, a bit longer.  This is at least the third version of PSE I've purchased over the years -- not happy anymore!

    I updated PSE from version 9 to version 11 just to get ACR 7.4 for my Nikon D7100 camera
    Installation went smoothly. But I discovered Adobe does not include the latest ACR version. SO I have ACR 7.1 installed. Well, it does not support the D7100
    Went to Help menu. Updates option is not highlighted. ???? Cant use it!!!  Why ? My product is installed and registered ???
    Anyway, I went to the ACR download page. No ACR 7.4 alone but ACR with DNG. What the hell I took the last one. Version 8.1
    Downloaded DNG 8.1 and installed it. Fine.  Well, I can start DNG alone but no ACR visible. Back to PSE 11: It still only sees ACR 7.1
    Have I downloaded ACR when I downloaded DNG ?
    Should I download it separately ? Where from ?
    If I did download it, how do I make PSE 11 recognize ACR 7.4 is available?
    Extremely frustrating evening: I hesitated upgrading to PSE 11 for months because of this type of problems. When I finally take the jump, it hits me in the face.

    Here are the steps to install camera raw 8.1 manually.
    1. Download the 8.1 zip file

    2. Extract the setup.zip by right clicking and choosing Extract All
    3. Double click on payloads then double click on AdobeCameraRaw7.0All-290513174249
    4. Extract the folder Assets1_1.zip
    5. in the folder Assets1_1 rename (right click) the 1003 to Camera Raw.8bi
    6. right click on the Camera Raw.8bi and choose copy
    7. Go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\Elements 11\File Formats and drag the old camera raw plugin to the trash, then
        right click in the folder and choose paste
    With any luck next time you go to open your Nikon D7100 files in pse 11 you'll have camera raw 8.1

    I run PSE 11 and ACR Ver. 7.4.
    Also, have LR 4 and have yet upgraded to LR 5.
    My question is this:  Adobe indicates Camera Raw 8.1 is available for PSE 11. I have been checking Help>Updates and am informed that this Camera Raw update (8.1) is not available. I keep getting the message that PSE 11 is up-to-date as checked (with Camera Raw 7.4).   Can somebody clarify this - is this update available for PSE 11 or is Adobe's statement incorrect?
    Next question - what version of ACR includes the adjustment tools?  Is that part of 8.1?

    Yes, I know that Adobe has put some statement on at least one of their web pages that ACR 8.1 is available for PSE, but I don't think that's correct. I don't think ACR 8.1 will work in PSE until PSE12 is released ... but ... I don't really know for sure.
    Next question - what version of ACR includes the adjustment tools?
    What adjustment tools do you mean?
    Some adjustment tools in ACR will NEVER work in PSE (for example, the adjustment brush and gradient filter, and probably the new Upright features as well)

    I am trying to update ACR in CS6 to take photos from Canon 6D.
    However for some time I have been getting the error message "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrect."
    Can anyone advise me about settings or how to overcome this problem.

    You were probably using the Release Candidate version of camera raw 8.7, which one gets from Adobe Labs.

  • Unable to update ACR 7.3 to 7.4

    Hi everyone,
    I'm trying to update ACR from 7.3 to 7.4 (Lightroom 4.4 asks me to do) to use it into Photoshop CS6 (13.0.1) on Mac OS X 10.6.8.
    I download the update from the Adobe servers (http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=5568).
    I run the installation program. Everything looks alright… Done. Ok. But…
    But Photoshop doesn't think so…:
    I've tried some more times, but nothing changes.
    What's wrong?

    The phrase “Adobe Camera Raw” is ambiguous. 
    We users tend to use ACR to refer to the PS plug-in back from when there was only a plug-in, no DNGC and no LR, but the description does not say plug-in.  The “and” in the Product description suggests both the plug-in and DNGC are part of the package, it since it does not actually say Plug-in, it isn’t necessarily wrong, just confusing due to the ambiguity.
    In any case, what you downloaded is just the DNG Converter although I would agree the product description along with the past practices suggest both the plug-in and the converter could be in the package.
    The ACR plug-in is not supposed to be downloaded, anymore—Adobe has not provided links to it with either of the last two or three ACR-plug-in updates.  You are supposed to only use Updates… from within Photoshop to get the updated ACR plug-in. 
    Adobe has not given a precise reason why they’ve disallowed downloading the plug-in, and have informally supplied links in the blog, but you cannot download the ACR plug-in from the traditional places, such as:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/
    It’s possible this change is due to Apple Store or Creative Suite evolutionary pressures, or just some new upper-management idea to reduce phone calls.

    every time I try to run a program that I have downloaded (like Trend Micro) or update my Comodo Internet security I get an error message failed to update please check your internet connection and try again later and I am connected to the internet I've closed Firefox and reopened and it still does it

  • After 4.2 update cannot connect to internet

    Having just updated my Airport Express with the latest update 4.2 I now seem unable to connect to the internet. Yet when I the Ethernet cable directly into my powerbook, no problems. I've run the assistant countless times, Ethernet cable connected, unconnected, completed a hard reset and re-started everything. When I check the Airport Admin Utilty, all the information for my ISP has been detected by the unit and is visable and the second Express unit with printer and speakers seems unaffected. Is there a glitch in the update???

    Downloaded "Binary File" (see link) to desk top and uploaded using the Airport Admin Utility. This puts Airport back to it's 'box like' state. Did a hard reset on both units, run the Assistant and I am delighted to say...It's all systems go!!! So a big Thanks to Nigel!!!

  • Lion mountain newest update :I loos the internet connection, but the network shows connected. And IPhone, IPad stay connected and work. Only the MacBook Pro , which worked perfectly before with Lion unless I updated to Mountain. I have tried everything.

    I have a MacBook Pro, Early 2011, 2 GHz Intel Core i7 which I udated some days ago with Lion Mountain 10.8.2. Before it worked just perfect. Now, since the update,  I loos the internet connection after a wile, (at the beginning every 20 sec, now up to 4 hours) even that the sign of the WiFi network connection shows to be perfectly connected.
    My other divices like IPhone, IPad stay connected and work. The rooter is new and cannot be the problem. I tried nearly everything I found on the bloggs, but nothing helped actually. It must be a softwear problem on Lion Mountain, what can I do?

    I FINALLY SOLVED THIS ISSUE!!!!
    New routers have "mixed" modes for your network; this means that it will automatically choose the best option between wireless-B, wireless-G and wireless-N network modes. I used to experience this issue using the 2.4 GHz. mixed mode wireless network.
    Thankfully, my router can create 2 networks: a 2.4 GHz. network and a 5 GHz. network.
    When I randomly changed this value to "use only wireless-B and wireless-G" trying to fix an issue with a wi-fi expander, the iMac wi-fi  issue dissapeared! I tried it with wireless-N only, but it didn't work.
    So, finally, I have a 2.4 GHz network with only wireless-B and wireless-G modes which works PERFECT with the iMac, and a 5 GHz. network with a mixed* wireless mode for everything else mode.
    *PD: by "mixed" mode it means that the router will automatically choose between B, G and N network modes as it fits better.

    Try this:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • Then restart & see if you can update.

    Run software up date, write down the update name and version. Go to the Apple site and do a search for the updates one at a time and download them one at a time. Use an ethernet connection, sometimes software update "crushes large updates. I have experienced this before.  Hope it helps.  ATB
