PSE-11 will not open.

PSE-11 will not open.  Says MSVCP110.dll is missing.  But when I look in program files, it is there.

  • My new edition of PSE 12 will not open after a system restore.

So my BF ran a system restore and now my PSE 12 will not open. It does NOTHING when I click on the icon. I tried uninstall/reinstalling it with NO success. Has anyone else had this happen and know how to get it working again???

Maybe you restored to a version of Firefox that crashes or still have a virus problem.
(irrc some Firefox versions specifically had problems after Windows restores)
Follow up checking for malware and then try re-installing Firefox. I would also suggest you make a copy of your [[profiles|profile]] including all folders and sub files and put it somewhere safe as it may assist in restoring your bookmarks and information.

  • PSE 9 will not open!!

I tried to open PSE 9 - I got the blue box "welcome to adobe... - I chose organize, got the message you have not backed up for a long time - I chose remind me next time - the whole program disappeared and it will not open.
Now I still get the blue box, I hit organize and the whole program disappears.
I tried to uninstall so I could re-install but I get the message "files in use" so I can't do that either. Totally frustrated!!

Thanks, I'll try it. I did manage to get it open last night but it pulled in every single file off my computer over 311,000 - OUCH!
I thought I use to bring in only watched folders. I can't find my years of tagged photos ( the hard drive was replaced but the tech. assured me everything is on the new drive - somewhere)

  • PSE 12 will not open

I just purchased and installed Elements 12 on Wed.  I used it that day fine with no issues.  The next day, the Organizer would open, but the Editor would not.  I uninstalled the program and reinstalled and now it will not open at all.  I have done trouble shooting and got nowhere.  I have updated all areas of my computer.  I am running Windows 8.  Does anyone know the solution to this problem or have experience with it?  I keep hitting dead ends.  I really need to get the program to open again.  Thanks

I went into the "Trial" version and updated to 12.1...the only error I got was
    Photoshop Camera Raw 8.5
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later. Error Code: U43M1D219

Organizer in PSE 10 wil not open, have tried a hundred times, worked fine previously, help anyone?

Thanks for your response DJ. I have Windows Vista and I'am getting NO error messages, crazy right? I just click on the organizer and it acts like its going to do something and then you wait and wait for maybe 30 minutes and it just doesn't move forward. I have been using the PSE programs for many years and have never encountered this problem! I have thousands of pictures on this program and its starting to freak me out that I cant access any of them! If you have any additional ideas please let me know. Thanks Julie

  • PSE 8 Will Not Open

I recently upgraded from PSE 6 to PSE 8 (I have Windows 7).  I have been using it less than a month.  The first problem started when I would get an error when using the Organizer to upload photos to Shutterfly.  The error said the Organizer stopped working.  I followed some trouble shooting advice listed on the adobe website (ensured my system met minimum requirements, installed current service packs and updates, recreated the preference file, and disabled all startup items).  This is when the problem worsened.  The Organizer stopped opening at all.  I could still open the Editor but could not open the Organizer.  Then I received different error messages.  At times I would also get the tutorial screen that would pop up, covering the screen not allowing me to open either the Editor or the Organizer.
I then unistalled PSE 8 and reinstalled it (twice).  I am not sure what happened but PSE 8 looks very similar to before.  I still can't open the Organizer but sometimes I can open the Editor although my recently edited photos are still available.  I was expecting a fresh start.  But I still get the tutorial screen that blocks me from clicking on the Editor or the Organizer.  I did notice the file I changed from psa to psa.old is still there.  So now I have psa.old dated 10/3/10 and psa dated 10/10/10.
I recently backed up PSE 8 so I don't mind starting from scratch and importing the backup file.
I would greatly appreciate any help.  I love using PSE but right now can't even get the program to open.

OK!!!!  Here is what happened:  (BTW, adobe was very nice to talk to.)  basically he said when the online backup is full, the organizer won't open.  You have to go to photoshop.com and delete some images out of your library.  Once you've done that you should be able to open the organizer and change the preferences to NOT backup/sync.  If you can't get it to open to do that you can hit escape first to see if it will let you in.  If it still won't then go to prgram files, pse...get to the folders in pse and drag out to your desktop a folder called online services.  After we did that it worked like a charm!  I will post step by step later if you need it.  He said Adobe will send me an email outlining the step by step process for my records.   It took over 1/2 hr on the phone...but once he logged onto my computer it went pretty fast.  Hope this helps!

  • PSE 6 will not open

I have been using pse 6 and periodically when I try to start PSE 6, the icon flashes then no program will start it is just as if I never tried to open the program.  I have even tried it from the program file - no go.  There is no pattern - it may happen after 1 use, or 10 times.  When it opens correctly, there are no error messages, it is closed down clean, then it will not start.  What does work, is to reload PSE 6 then it works - that is just a little too time consuming.  Any Ideas?

    > But turns out I do not have a psa.prf file.
Did you change the Windows Explorer settings so you can view hidden files? The procedure is explained at the top of the Adobe tech note:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/kb402520
    > The catalog file is located on a shared pc and I have a mapped drive to that pc. I also have Elements installed a different pc and that one can open the organizer with no issue from the same catalog.
That could be the cause of the problems accessing a catalog via a shared drive can be problematic. Before delving into those details, lets see if you can open the Organizer and create a new test catalog on the local drive. Follow the instructions here:
    http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_Ref215030515
But instead of trying to repair the existing catalog, click New to create a new catalog. Then try importing some photos (from the local drive) into that catalog, and see if you can repeatedly restart the Organizer without problem.

  • PSE 10 will not open the picture when coming from "edit in" in LR4.

Just installed LR4, when choosing "edit in" PSE, the Elements program opens, but the picture does not display.  Is anyone else having this problem, or know what I need to do to fix this?
    Thanks

Make sure you are linking in LR Preferences to PhotoshopElementsEditor in Support Files and not an alias.
In Finder hold down Opn (alt) and click Go to reveal the Library.
The other thing to check is your camera raw plug-in which I think needs to be version 6.7 to be compatible with LR4.
Launch the PSE10 Editor and on the menu click:
    Help >> Updates
    Install ACR 6.7 if available.

  • I have PSE-12 on Mac. Got message "scratch disc full" tried changing drive to backup disc. Now PSE-12 will not open to allow me to go back to original drive. What can I do?

Using PSE-12 on my Mac and got the message 'scratch disc full' I have backup disc attached to computer and tried making this the number 1 disc. I now can't get PSE-12 to open so that I can get back and reverse the order of these discs. What can I do?

Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
    com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 paths
    Adobe Photoshop Elemetns 12 settings
and any lockfiles with the same names. That library is hidden in 10.7 and up. To see it, click the Go menu in the finder and hold down the Option key and it will appear below the little house for your user account. While you're in there go to the saved application states folder and delete any for PSE.

    Hey Guys,
I just bought an Intuos Pro and PSE 12 came with the product.  I have reinstalled the software a number of times and removed preferences.  I am still unable to move beyond the sign in process and it wont let me open PSE as a Trial.  I have entered in my Product key a number of times and I am still stuck with the same issue.  I am using an Mac with up to date Mavic.  I have looked on the forums and have found nothing that has helped so far.  I would greatly appreciate your help as I have a project I need to work on.  Thank you for your time

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor. The Editor's executable is:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe" The Organizer's executable is:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe" The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again. • PSE 9 suddenly will not open pse files - due to "program error"

The program was working fine yesterday and now suddenly will not open pse files created yesterday or today. The error message reads "could not complete action due to program error." Am I going to need to deactivate and reinstall - and if so, how do I do that? Will I lose all brushes loaded into presets, all files currently unable to be opened if I do that?

I have the same or at least similar issue - When try
ing to open a Photoshop Elements 9 slideshow I get this message
"This application has requested the Runtime
to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact
this application's support team for further assistance" I first saw this problem today - can't think of why now.  I've had the program since last Christmas.
I sure would like a solution as I'm in the midst of a project with it.

  • Installed PSE 10  now it will not open

It open once, under setting I opted for open editor only, Now the darn thing will not open at all.

Called Tech-Support, they were no help .
They tell me it is a windows problem.
Going to Program Files (x86) and click on Adobe, open PSE 10 then click on PSE Editor, here I get the error message.
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0150002). Click OK to close the application.
I've intalled and re-installed now 3 times, still the same problem.
Anybody know how to fix this ???

  • Upgraded to pse 13 worked once now will not open

uupgraded to psd 13 - opened up once - now will not open

the opening screen "opens up" and am able to go "online" via 13 - when you go to
Organizer - will not open - win 7 - 64 - task manager shows it in app's but indicates "not responding" -
the processes stream shows pse 13 running...  in reviewing threads for this issues there are
100's of users experiencing the same issue over many generations of pse...  the "fix" should be
well known to Adobe by now... after 10 hours there is NO clear fix from Adobe - highly disappointing...
keep in mind I bought pse 10 and that NEVER opened up or worked correctly - now same with 13 -
unuseable - 10 hours later - three reinstalls and several suggested fixes and I am sure an Adobe pse
expert could fix in a few minutes what I can't do in 10 hours...  please have a pse expert give me the
recipe to correct as this is a KNOWN long time recurring issue as documented in any number of
    chat rooms...  thx...

  • PSE Will not open and .psd or .jpeg files

Please help, I have been using PSE 11 with success to edit hundreds of pics.  However now all of a sudden it will not open any .psd or .jpeg files.  When I go to PSE menu - open a finder window opens up and when I go to choose a file, the open finder window goes disapears and then the menu bar gets faded out so I cannot access any of the menu options in PSE.  There are have not been any PSE warnings or messages. I have to use force quit on PSE.  I have restarted my computer and even uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 11 and this still did not solve the issue.  I am running OSX 10.9 with 16 GB of memory and a 3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo.

That was BRILLIANT how you somehow knew I had the coverflow view open.  I tried to close the coverflow first thing but PSE closed down again so I went through the steps again previously suggested .........in my Finder - Library - Preferences - and deleted the follow again: (com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist / Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Paths / Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Settings)  I was then able to close the coverflow view and the combination of tweeks helped.  I can now get back to work after three days of headaches trying to solve this puzzle.
    THANK YOU!!!
