PSE 12 and nikon d750

Does PSE 12 support Nikon D750 RAW potos?

The Nikon D750 requires Camera Raw 8.7 which is not compatible with Photoshop Elements 12.
You need to either upgrade to Photoshop Elements 13 or use the Adobe DNG converter 8.7.1 to convert the NEF files to DNG files. The DNG files can then be used by Photoshop Elements 12.

  • LR 4 and Nikon D750

    Do I need to have LR 5 in order to be able to view and edit Nikon D750 files? Or can I do some sort of update for LR 4?

    There is no update for LR4 to have it read D750 NEF files. You need to have a t least 5.7 or the latest LR6 of course. Read here.
    You can directly upgrade to LR6.
    A workaround would be to use the free DNG converter and import a DNG into LR4. However, since the update is only about 80 bucks, I'd definitely go for that and don't miss out on the new functions since LR4.

  • In adobe pse and nikon nx2, I open 2 images, select in 1 a head, copy, open image 2 and paste, than only the outlines of the selection apears but no head. who knows this problem?

    in adobe PSE and in Nion NX2, I open 2 group Photos, select a head in photo 1 and copy, go to photo 2 and paste. Than only the selection-line
    appears and no head is visible! Who can tell me what is going wrong? Thanks: Max.

    I am sorry to have to point out to you that you have changed SpryMenuBasicSkin.css so much that it is impossible to render any assistance.
    To start with, the menubar has an ID of MenuBar, yet in the CSS I only see this referenced as a CLASS as in
    .MenuBar  {
    background-color:#cccccc;
    font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; /* Specify fonts on on MenuBar and subMenu MenuItemContainer, so MenuItemContainer,
    MenuItem, and MenuItemLabel

    Note that this means the size is also inherited to child submenus,
    so use caution in using relative sizes other than
    100% on submenu fonts. */
    font-weight: normal;
    font-size: 16px;
    font-style: normal;
    padding:0;
    border-color: #ffffff #ffffff #ffffff #ffffff;
    border-width:0px;
    border-style: none none none none;
    I would suggest to start again.
    Once you have done that, supply a link to your site and we will assist you further.

  • Camera Raw and Nikon d750

    I've been working with Nikon for several months now trying to find out why I cannot open up their NEF files. I even sent my camera back to their repair facility for the recall on the D750 and they fixed that problem but ignored all my documentation on the problem of not being able to process NEF files in Photoshop or Nikon Capture NXD. Capture NXD would convert my files into tiny 3x5 inch photos. Well, it turns out that it was Nikon Transfer that was corrupting my files during the transfer. Today  saw that you suggested using Bridge to download my files from the camera and I did and now it works just fine! Thank you so much and I wish you had suggested that months ago. I am using CS6.

  • Tether to Nikon D750?

    I am using Lr 5.7 and Nikon D750.  My computer recognizes that the camera is connected, but Lightroom says "no camera detected."  How can I tether to my Nikon D750?

    Adobe depends on the Nikon SDK for tethering. Nikon says the D750 was added to the SDK on 2014-11-12.
    Most likely that is too late for LR 6.0, so it might be in the following v6 update, maybe.

    You need Adobe camera raw version 8.7. Unfortunately your software pre-dates the camera. ACR 8.7 is only compatible with PSE13. But it is possible to download and install the free DNG converter to convert your raw files to the Adobe universal Raw format and the files will open in all versions of PSE (keep your originals as backups and for use in the camera manufactures software)
    Windows download (.exe file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
    Mac download (.dmg file) click here DNG Converter 8.7
    You can convert a whole folder of raw images in one click. See this quick video tutorial:

    Hi,  I've just purchased and installed an upgrade from Lightroom 4 to 5.  It doesn't seem to handle raw files authored with a new Nikon D750 camera.  I spoke to the sales rep about this and he gave me a link to the 8.6 DNG converter page with instructions to download.  8.6 only works with Mac OS 10.7-10.9, according to the page.  I'm running Yosemite, Mac 10.10.  Please can you tell me my options?  Lightroom 4 worked beautifully with my older cameras' raw files so I would like to continue using the application.  What should I do?  How soon will Lightroom 5 be able to deal with raw files from a D750.  Many thanks, Adam.

    Until the next version of Lightroom is released, you need to use the DNG Converter version 8.7RC to convert your RAW photos to DNG and then import the DNGs into Lightroom.

    You were probably using the Release Candidate version of camera raw 8.7, which one gets from Adobe Labs.

    I just bought the Nikon D750 and my raw files will not open in CC Photoshop. Is anyone else that has this camera experienced this problem?
    My Photoshop says it is up to date, but I am hoping that since this camera just came out, Adobe will have an raw file update soon.

    DNG Converter is FREE.  Yes, really.  No subscription needed.
    - Baloney, NOT FREE, it's a proprietary software, not open AT ALL, see Legal Notices, so stop trying to distort the truth here.
    Camera Raw (& DNG Converter) 8.7RC has been available since 2nd October, and opens D750 files in Photoshop & Bridge (& Lightroom using DNG Converter).
    Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 8.7 Release Candidate | digital camera raw file support - Adobe Labs
    - Still a cumbersome process for this of us that PAID for software and support, the whole point of this discussion is to implement this directly on LR, so we, the PAYING users don't have to waste time doing a useless process that could be EASILY AVOIDED ig Adobe released updates as they are needed, or if they OPENED THE SOURCE CODE so the community could do it.
    Adobe created DNG, which is a well-documented backwards-compatible format, which is free for any manufacturer to use.
    See here for manufacturers who do (it's an old list, but you get the idea):
    http://www.barrypearson.co.uk/articles/dng/products_cameras.htm
    - Really? Did you actually read the site? It has PRECIOUS information that illustrate my point: Adobe DNG is an attempt to stop the OpenSource community from achieving the goals of OpenRaw, which is TRUE OPENNESS, Again, Adobe is trying to get manufacturers to PAY LICENSING so they use a PROPRIETARY FORMAT that will HOLD CUSTOMERS on a PAID platform. OpenRaw is he answer for a true competitive environment.
    Ask yourself why other manufacturers don't use a documented backwards-compatible format.
    - Easy, because they are lazy and want kick-back. The SAME answer that I (and the entire OS community) would give if you asked about Acrobat or MS Office.
    If you use a particular piece of software as your main tool, and you buy a camera which isn't yet supported by it, it's your problem. There is an expression used in the industry:
    "Poor Planning on your part does not constitute an Emergency on my part."
    - I agree here, it's MY PROBLEM that I decided to have a better product, it was my choice. I can still use OS Tools, which will be what I do moving forward, and about that expression, that is EXACTLY why Adobe will keep loosing customers, because the sense of urgency to help who pays their bills is inexistent. You are correct, why should they rush something so simple to help a customer right? Screw the customer... Thanks for making my point...

  • CS5 using Bridge and a Nikon D750

    I have CS5 and a NIkon D750, having trouble with the DNG converter and finding a good download.  The one I found doesn't seem to be doing anything.

    Downloading the DNG Converter won't magically install it, launch it and run it on each new batch of raw NEF files from that camera.

  • I downloaded the newest version of camera raw for LR. I have LR4 and can not import photos from my new Nikon D750. The download  said it was sucessful but I still can not import photos.

    I downloaded the newest version of camera raw for LR. I have LR4 and can not import photos from my new Nikon D750. The download  said it was sucessful but I still can not import photos.

    Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. So downloading the latest Camera Raw didn't do anything at all for you. The only way to update or upgrade Lightroom is to obtain the latest version. If you have Lightroom 4 then the last version of Lightroom you can have at no additional cost is Lightroom 4.4.1. If the camera you are using requires anything newer than what is supported and that version of Lightroom then it will require an upgrade to Lightroom 5.

  • Experiences with Nikon D750 and Aperture

    Hi,
    a few weeks ago I bought a Nikon D750 – my camera before was a Nikon D700.
    All in all I am disappointed about the quality of my photos with the D750 in Aperture – they’re all 14bit RAWs without compression. The problems e. g. are:
    - Photos shot with the D750 at low light conditions at home are too much colour saturated - especially there’s too much red in it.
    - Contrast is much too high.
    - Dark areas are often black without details.
    I looked at many of these photos in Adobe’s Lightroom. The RAW intepretation seems a bit better (especially regarding contrast and dark areas) but has other problems (e. g. with skin tones).
    I made a few comparision photos with my D750 and the D700. All in all the D700 makes a much better job in home light conditions. You can see more details in the photos, colour saturation and contrast are better.
    Can anyone confirm these problems? At the moment I am not sure if it is a problem of the D750 (which is reviewed everywhere so excellent!) or of the CameraRAW interpretation of Apple. Will future Camera RAW updates mabye have better interpretations?
    Regards, Ulf

    To illustrate, what I mean: I shot today a photo (nothing special) with my lensbaby fisheye lens in low light.
    That’s the way the photo looks like in Aperture 3.6 (I tried to improve it a bit):
    In Apertue the photo has to much contrast. But reducing it makes the photo ugly. You can also see that dark parts of the photo (not the black) tend to be brown and the transition between black and brown looks terrible.
    The Same photo processed and also a bit improved with Lightroom 5.7 looks a lot better:
    You can see a lot more details - details you can never get with Aperture.
    In my opinion Apple’s camera raw for the Nikon D750 makes a very bad job. A lot of my photos can not good be processed in Aperture.
    Does anyone with the D750 make same experiences?
