PSE 12 and Revel

I just bought PSE 12 and am trying to retrieve photos I stored with Adobe back when I got PSE9.  I also had them backed up on an external drive but it is now fried.  I was told that I could reconnect those little thumbprints with the question marks to the stored pictures in revel.  Many of my pictures are there.  As it turns out I bought the PSE 12 for my Dell computer.  Does Revel only work with Apple products?  this is the impression I am getting.  Is retrieveing and reconnecting the pictures to my organizer in PSE 12 impossible?

  • Elements 12 and Revel integration

...and it does really not look good so far.
    1)
Created a new Revel library and album in Elements and added some photos. Nothing happened in Revel. Waited for a long while, and suddenly Elements reported that the disk where it was supposed to download photos from Revel was missing (which was not true). Suddenly my new Revel-library and Revel-album was gone too.
    2)
In "All media" view I see a lot of photos from Revel, but when I go into each of the Revel libraries and albums, they are all empty.
    3) When look at metadata on a photo downloaded from Revel, I see they contains keywords/tags, but they are not detected by Elements, so I can not browse for them in the Tags browser. The keywords originates from Lightroom (which was used to publish to Revel), so I was expecting Adobe to be compatible with Adobe. Or is there a difference between tags and keywords? If so - what's the difference? Seems like tags added in Elements are saved to IPTC-keywords field as expected, but this does not go the other way. Why make a mess of this?
    4) Trying to edit photos from Revel in the editor, but as Revel-albums are selected, nothing happens. Most likely because Elements is downloading photos from Revel, but who knows? No indicator of this.
    5) Select a photo in "All Media" that originates from Revel and go to Information and click "Complerte". The metadata is downloaded from Revel, but my photo is no longer selected and I have to browse to find it again.
    6) Went into settings for Mobile Albums and turned off Revel Agent. After restarting it, it spent 5 minutes "Uploading 1 change" or something like that. This time some photos were shown in the Revel albums, but just a few in some of them, and no indicator that most of the photos were missing.

thank you.  hopefully, this will be a better way of asking...
all of my pictures are in iphoto right now.  I have moved them over to be in bridge as well (I just dragged the iphoto folders...please let me know if this is the wrong way to do this).
some simple edits seem like they'd be much easier and quicker to do in iphoto (cropping, red eye) and others are obviously suited only to pse.  if I make an edit in pse now, but still also have the picture in iphoto, is there a way to get that edit to apply to the photo in iphoto as well?  I would assume no and that I'll have to drag the edited picture from pse to iphoto and replace the original.  is that the case?
also, does the picture actually lose anything if I move back and forth like that?  does it get further compressed or will it be the same size if I moved it from iphoto to pse and then move it back?
    thanks again!!

  • Sync ratings/favorites between Elements and Revel

    Hi,
Is there a way to select your keepers in the Revel app on your iPad so your selection somehow gets synced into PSE?
You get the idea. I would like to select my keepers on my iPad and somehow make my selections visible in PSE.
As fare as I know, the "Favorite" flag in Revel does not get synchronized with PSE.
    Thanks.

  • In adobe pse and nikon nx2, I open 2 images, select in 1 a head, copy, open image 2 and paste, than only the outlines of the selection apears but no head. who knows this problem?

in adobe PSE and in Nion NX2, I open 2 group Photos, select a head in photo 1 and copy, go to photo 2 and paste. Than only the selection-line
appears and no head is visible! Who can tell me what is going wrong? Thanks: Max.

I am sorry to have to point out to you that you have changed SpryMenuBasicSkin.css so much that it is impossible to render any assistance.
To start with, the menubar has an ID of MenuBar, yet in the CSS I only see this referenced as a CLASS as in

font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; /* Specify fonts on on MenuBar and subMenu MenuItemContainer, so MenuItemContainer,
    MenuItem, and MenuItemLabel

Note that this means the size is also inherited to child submenus,

    100% on submenu fonts. */
    font-weight: normal;
    font-size: 16px;
    font-style: normal;
    padding:0;
    border-color: #ffffff #ffffff #ffffff #ffffff;

  • How to remove duplicate photos with Elements and Revel?

While on vacation this year, I uploaded pictures from my camera to my iPad to Revel.  When I got home, I copied all of the pictures from my camera to my harddrive on my laptop and imported them into Elements 12.  On my laptop I store photos in subdirectories like this:  \Lisa\albums\Pictures201509.  I found duplicates of most of my photos in \Users\Owner\My Pictures\Adobe\Revel\My Catalog Old.  I would like to clean these up so I only have once copy of each photo on my harddrive.
    I have 3 questions:
    Why did this happen?
How can I clean this up and not complete mess up my Elements and Revel catalogs?
How can I prevent this in the future?
    thanks,
    Lisa

The folks at www.overmacs.com/photosweeper told me that they are upgrading their product so it will work with Apple Photos.  It works now with iPhoto and Aperture.  It has many adjustments to detect same name files, and even same or similar content images.  Monitor their website for a future release.  There is a small fee for the pro version, which is well worth the price.

  • Aero Problems on Win 7 With PRE, PSE and OE

I am using nVideo GeForce GTS 8800 (rev 8.17.12.9573 2/9/2012) and having trouble with Aero on PRE, PSE and OE version 10 and a dual monitor system. The problems are numerous and involve trying to resize windows and display resolutions with these products. My question is: Do products these fully support the Aero display modes? The problems don't show up on any other products such as BLENDER, VLC, GIMP etc. and other proprietary and GPL products.

    Hi,
PSE shows the fewest problems, in minimum mode try expanding the window by clicking at the top (of PSE) and dragging up or down. The arrow should change to double sided and you should be able to expand or contract the window. Try it on another app. It should work okay (window expands or contracts). Also the top of the window should be translucent to be compliant with Aero (so should PRE and OE be translucent at the top).
I could live with that; but if I try to maximize the OE window in the left monitor, I only get one half of OE. The other half is off the left side of monitor.
The biggest problem is that PRE does not maximize in a 1920 x 1080 monitor; it goes back to the right monitor in 1280 x 720 res. mode. ALL of the other Windows (non Adobe) apps do work all right even BLENDER and VLC which are GPL. This means that I can't run PRE at higher res. which is a major advantage for a video editing app.
It appears that these programs from Adode may not be using the Microsoft Windows API calls, that the other Windows programs use to resize. If this is the case; it shows sloppy programming techniques.
I do have latest drivers from nVideo.
I hope that this clear; it is a little complicated. Anyhow, thanks for your interest and for giving me the opportunity to vent my frustration.

  • Converting P12 to PSE and uploading in STRUST on ABAP

    Hi Team,
We need some help from the experts.
We have a p.12 certificate of our PI/XI system from the Java stack which we need to convert to PSE and upload to strust on the ABAP side.
We are trying with sapgenpse but unable to convert from p12 to pse but unable to do so.
Is there any possibility of converting p12 to PSE and upload in strust? If yes, what command should we use to generate the same via sapgenpse?
    Thanks

  • PSE and Nik Collection of Plug-ins

Has anyone running PSE  and using the Nik Collection of plug-ins experienced any sudden problems with a missing .dll file?
Yesterday, I was unable to open up PSE due to a missing .dll file.   After hours of trying to figure out the problem, I inadvertently realized it was the Nik Collection that was the problem and re-installing it solved the problem.
This morning, same error message once again and when I by-passed it and got into PSE the Nik Collection was not showing under “filters” although it was yesterday after the problem was solved.  So, I uninstalled the Nik Collection and re-installed it and everything is good now.
Clearly, there is some sort of issue with the Nik plug-ins –anyone else having this problem?

    Hi,
    You can try this.
    1. Launch PSE
    2. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Plugins
    3. In the Additional Path, Provide the path of the Bokeh Plugin
    4. Click OK
    5. Relaunch PSE
I hope, it should work now.
    Thanks,

  • Lightroom upload to Adobe Revel no longer supported?!? Future of Lightroom and Revel?!?

    Hi,
currently I'm Pro-User of Adobe Revel and I upload all photos with Adobe Lightroom 4 to my Revel account.
I googled a little bit around because I'm not able to upload videos via Lightroom and i found this link:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1162795.
On this page it is said that Adobe will not continue plugin support for Lightroom and Revel.
Could somebody (or anybody - sorry for my english) tell me more about the future of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Revel?!? Would be great and helpful....
    Thanks in advance
    Stephan

    Stephan hi
yes, there is no way to use the revel plugin from LR anymore.
i am also finding this very strange as both are adobe products & no integration anymore?
i use LR as a database for all my images
and was exporting to revel, only the ones that i need to share
this is very frustrating and unexpected from adobe
maybe they will come up with a new revel plugin
but no official word from adobe yet
i have been exploring various options for sharing like smugmug, flickr etc
but have more faith in adobe, as i have been a LR and photoshop user for many years
just started using revel on free trial account, certainly wont take their PRO service without the LR/REVEL integration
i also feel that revel has been around for couple+ of years
but they lack many basic features, compared to others like smugmug
i understand a new service/app takes time to develop, but by now, they should have nailed it
for eg: if i webshare an album with a friend, he can download the individual 50 pictures one by one
there is no option to download the entire album in one go, very frustrating and very basic feature
seems like this is a hobby project for adobe and they aint investing much into this service
though their annual subscription charges are at par with others like smugmug and probably more than some others
the revel forum is also not very active from adobe's side
they should realise that people like you & me, and many others explore first and then finalise a service for good and stick to it
what if i go towards smugmug and upload all, i wont be changing back to revel, as its a lot of hassel organizing and re-uploading again
if anyone listening/monitoring these threads on adobe forum
    please reply

  • HELP PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS AND REVEL HELL

    1. My computer has corrupt partitions.  I have to erase and reinstall everything.  How do I reinstall Photoshop Elements?
    2. How do I back up and save and be able to open up current Photoshop Elements photos in the newly reinstalled Photoshop Elements?
    3.  Revel offered way to archive but computer would not accept Media downloader from Revel to back up photos bec. computer did not recognize developer?  How do I archive these photos I currently have in photoshop elements?
    4. How and where do you save photos in photoshop elements?  And how do I retrieve them?
5.If I purchase Elements 11 will this eliminat all of these issues I mentioned here?
    6.  What's the difference at Revel to "migrate" my photos from photoshop elements to Revel and/or Archive by downloading them which I can do since the developer is not recognizable on my computer?
    7.  Do you know if the external g: drive (time machine) backs up photohop elements photos?  What will and how?

    1)
To re-install PSE on a new machine or on a new disk after the disk has been formatted - wiped clean - you first need to de-activate it by going to:
    Help >> Deactivate
You do this before you wipe the disk clean or before you toss away the disk and install a new one.   This is to preserve your license and rights to install on two different machines if you wish to do so.
    2) You must backup not only your photos but also your other documents, emails, videos, music files etc.  Anything that you don't want to lose should be backed up in a flash drive (16GB flash drive or even 32 GB flash drive).  You might need couple or an external hard disk that can be mounted on a USB port.
You also need to back up your PSE catalog so that this can be retrieved on your new machine or on your new disk.
For points 1 and 2, it is a good idea to make a list of things to do in advance including making sure you have all the CDs/DVDs and serial numbers ready to install applications on a new system.  Planning in advance will avoid headaches later when you are working hard to prepare the new system.
For other points about Revel, you will need to post them at this link:

  • When creating a DVD face in Photoshop 13 my save options are limited to .PSE and .PDF.  Why can I not save as a jpeg or other file format?  This was never an issues in Elements 10 (my previous version).

I just recently purchased Elements 13. I am in the process of creating a DVD face for a video. The design is complete and I would like to be able to save it as a JPEG so I can use it in another program that prints my DVD's. The problem is that it only allows me to save the file as at PSE or a PDF. No other options are available. Why is this?  I upgraded from Elements 10. In Elements 10 I have never had a problem saving this type of project as a JPEG.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

    ANSWER FOUND!
Once I finished composing my question I went back and spent some time to figure out the problem. Rather than choosing the "save as" option, which doesn't work, or attempting to choose "export" (grayed out), the correct option is to choose "export creation", which is near the very bottom of the initial drop down options. That works!  I still think it would make sense to have it as an option in the "save as" area.

  • PSE & and Camera Raw 5.5 problem

I shoot a Canon 5D Mark ii in Canon Raw.  I have Windows Vista operating system, I have PhotoShop Elements 7.0 (all updates installed).
I can't get PSE 7 to open my Raw files.  I downloaded and installed the plug http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/407/kb407344.html for Windows.
Am I trying to what can't be done?  Is PSE incapable of reading canon raw files?
    Thanks

    FaithfulPastor wrote:
I pasted the unzipped file in computer>Adobe>Photoshop Elements 7.0>Photoshop elements
I unzipped the files and ran them according to the instructions.  The plug opened up PSE during the installation. (if that matters?)
That isn't clear. The following instructions on the download page have to be followed precisely or the plug-in won't work.
Extract the Camera Raw.8bi file from the ZIP file you downloaded. (Extract only the Camera Raw.8bi file that is at the top level of the ZIP file. Do not extract the Camera Raw.8bi file from the Win64 folder that is inside the ZIP file. This folder contains the 64-bit edition of the Camera Raw plug-in, which is compatible only with the 64-bit edition of Photoshop CS4.)
    Do one of the following:
If you are using a 32-bit edition of Windows, then move Camera Raw.8bi into C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats. If you are prompted to overwrite the existing plug-in file, then click Yes or Overwrite.
If you are using a 64-bit edition of Windows, then move Camera Raw.8bi into C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Plug-Ins\File Formats. If you are prompted to overwrite the existing plug-in file, then click Yes or Overwrite

  • NEW to pse and to forum, how to add a frame?

I have never used Photoshop. I would like to add a white frame around  a photo. can anyone share how to do this? I hope i can figure out how to get back here to read the answer! LOL

If you hit the F1 key to open the online Help, in the upper right corner there's an icon to "View as PDF".  Click on it and you can save the PDF to your hard drive.  That's a very good thing to do because then you can search the PDF, which you can't do with the online help.
I learned PSE by reading that help file and watching the Adobe TV tutorials (some of which have sample files for downloading so you can practice with the same images used in the tutorial).
Others will have to jump in with recommendations for books, since I haven't looked at any of the books.

  • How can I make a folder structure for both PSE and Premiere Elements?

I have recently bought bundled PSE 10 and Prem Elements 10 ... (but have been using PSE6 for years)
I have lots of jpeg photos on an external drive in folders with a heirarchical structure eg. Pictures ... Friends ... 2011 ... 2011_12_02_Margate_seagulls.jpg  I also have loads of photos that are simply there waiting to be sorted and are in their native format e.g PIC_6120.jpg     Additionally I have .MOV files dumped from my JVC standard def camera some of which are custom named, others are left as is.  I now own a hi-def lumix which takes great jpgs and also video MTS files. After lots of searching on the net for the best way to get all this organised I am at a standstill. I feel that I need an external folder system (ie one that does not rely 100% on adobe and its categotries and tags) because I have had catastropic losses when using earlier photoshop progs. I also see the benefit of using tags. So...
Is there a simple (and best) way to order my photos and hi-def video while taking into account content I already have shot/videod?  I am happy to hear reasons and see examples why I should trust PSE/Prem E - but I would also like to see if it makes sense to use folders. Ideally i would love a practical folder structuring method that incorporates both video and still content. I have posted here because it is important I organise my video better and have a flexible system that allows for drafts and reworking my Hi-def content.
I have tried to find the info but it is so piecemeal and I have faith in the people on here ... Any links and advice would be much appreciated

In generic terms there are three methods of filing just about anything:
    Structured by event
    Structured by type
    Unstructured
Event might be occasion or date or a specific project. For this type of structure you would store all your assets related to that event, regardless of whether it is still, image or audio, in one place.
Type would typically be by the type of asset. All your videos in one place, stills in another, audio in another  etc... In business for example in the eighties (when personal computing became prevalent in the workplace) staff would religiously have all their word processor documents in one place, spreadsheets in another, powerpoints in yet another etc.... Dreadfully inefficient.
Unstructured would be a case of storing things wherever you liked and accessing them via tags or albums - but you've said you want to avoid this.
Personally I let the application store things according to the defaults for the different import types but then tag them. Essentially I follow the 'unstructured' style. For anything major I create a project directory and move all the project assets into it (i.e. selective structure by event).
If you search the Tips & Tricks forum I think Bill Hunt (who does this stuff for a living) describes his structured folder flow in great detail.

  • Iphoto and Revel: Deleting photos from Revel on iPad.

If I delete photos in Revel will the original photos in iPhoto be deleted???

Thanks for your reply Pattie. I eventually figured this one out. However, my other question is regarding how I accidentally deleted a photo and then Revel wouldn't upload it again. I even tried renaming the photo and dragging it to my desktop. Revel said that it was a duplicate file and could not be uploaded. What doesn't make sense to me is that I deleted the photo from my library, not just an album, so where was Revel seeing the duplicate photo? I don't get it - have you come across this before?
My question was how do I upload the photo again?
Luckily, after having downloaded the Revel application to my laptop, the photo WOULD finally upload after dragging the original photo into the Revel app. However - just to let you know - it would NOT upload the photo, and continued to give me the "duplicate file" error, every time I tried to upload it to Revel in my browser (on Safari). Like I said, It would ONLY upload to Revel AFTER I downloaded the app to my laptop and used that. Drove me insane because it didn't make sense to me!!
    But now you know.
