PSE 12 - Diashow: No pictures shown

I have PSE 12 installed on my PC at home (Windows 7, 64 bit) and on my Notebook (Windows 8.1, 64 bit). When I want to create a diashow on my notebook, no pictures are shown while running the show (i.e. screen remains black). Same picture show runs with no problem on my PC.
Anyone with a clue why? Thanks for helping.

I don't know what a "diashow" is?  Have you translated this from your language to English?

  • After Update to iPhoto 9.4.3 some pictures shown black

I'm working in a iMac with OSX 10.9.5. I've just updated my iPhoto with a newer version of iLife 11 to iPhoto 9.4.3 step by step as described here from Old Todd: running 10.9.5 OS X and iLife 11, now can't use iPhoto The capacity of the iPhoto library is around 180 GB with around 25.000 Objects. First everything seems to be fine. I could see all rolls, albums, calendar etc. But than i discovered, that in some cases, I could see the thumbnails but when I do a double click on it, I can only see a totally black frame. When I'm going to export that frame and look for the result, the original picture was exported correctly.
So, I tried to repair permissions and rebuild database. But this won't fix it. Than I tried to recreate thumbnails. After that, she the application is still open, everything seems to be fixed. But when I quit the application and open-up again, the same problem appears. Sometimes I can see the pictures for a second and they seemed to be squeezed somehow. What can I do? Any idea?
    Thanks for helping.

I suggest that you read Terence's post in this thread and try the fixes he suggests

Re: After Update to iPhoto 9.4.3 some pictures shown blackin response to frank251 | This helped me
There are several possible causes for the Black Screen issue
    1. Permissions in the Library: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to check and repair permissions.
    2. Minor Database corruption: Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    3. A Damaged Photo: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). (On iPhoto 11 this option is under the File -> Reveal in Finder.) Will the file open in Preview? If not then the file is damaged. Time to restore from your back up.
    4. A corrupted iPhoto Cache: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto folder from HD/Users/Your Name/ Library/ Caches...
    5. A corrupted preference file: Trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder. (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
If none of these help: As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

  • PSE 10 is not shown in windows 8 "set your default programs"

PSE 10 isn't shown as an option in windows 8 "set your default programs".
Selecting individual file types doesn't help me much when, apart from .jpgs
and .tiffs, I don't know all the file types PSE 10 can open and I want it to open
everything it can.  I do not want Windows 8 opening my stuff.  Any ideas?

  • PSE 6 - Rotated pictures are not burned on CD rotated

    Hi!
My beginner friend uses an Olympus E-500, PSE 6 and Vista. He loves taking portrait mode (vertical) pictures and when he uploads them to the Organizer they all show properly in a vertical position.
Now, when he burns these to a DVD the pictures are again all shoving up in landscape (horizontal) mode and when viewed you have to turn your head!
This error occurs both when Preferences are set to turn JPG files or not.
The only way around this that I found was to open the portrait mode picture (as shown properly in the Organizer) in the Editor, so something to it and then save it. Those saved pictures are then burned correctly in Portrait mode and can be viewed with, say, Window viewer and you do not have to turn your head 90°!
Is this a "feature" or a "bug" of PSE or do we do something wrong?
    Thanks for any ideas!
    Alexander

It's a little confusing, because PSE always obeys the Orientation metadata field, regardless of the option settings.   The option settings only affect what happens when you invoke the Organizer's Rotate command.
Here's what's happening in detail.  Suppose you take a portrait photo with a newer camera with the camera rotated 90 degrees clockwise; the JPG it creates contains:
    Actual photo: landcape
Orientation metadata field: Rotate 90 clockwise
When you import that photo into PSE, it obeys the Orientation field and displays the photo as rotated (portrait).  But older programs will show it as landscape.
If you uncheck the options Rotate JPEGs/TIFFs Using Orientation Metadata and then rotate the photo counter-clockwise (back to landscape) in the Organizer, PSE writes the contents of the file so that the actual photo is properly rotated as landscape:
    Actual photo: landscape
    Orientation metadata field: Horizontal
At this point, both older and newer programs will display the photo as landscape.
When you now rotate the photo clockwise again (back to portrait), PSE will rotate the actual photo:
    Actual photo: portrait
    Orientation metdata field: Horizontal
Older and newer programs will now display the photo as portrait.

  • Pse 13 printing picture package

I recently upgraded to PSE 13 and the old way of printing picture packages no longer seems available. How do I print a picture package? thanks.

Which operating system are you using with pse 13?
Which version of photoshop elements and operating system were you using before?
How were you printing the picture package in your older version?

  • PSE 5 emailing pictures in order picture was taken.

I have PSE 5 and I have never figured out why it is when I email pictures they are always oldest picture first when they are in the email. It doesn't matter which picture I attached to the email first, it is alway oldest first when the person recieves the email. The first picture they seeis always the oldest picture.
I use the PSE email by clicking the email at the top of the page when I have the catalog organizer open. The drop down box under format I have individual attachments chosen. Also it doesn't matter if I have the organizer dated oldest first or newest first. It still sends them as the oldest picture first. Can someone tell me why this is? Thanks!

Since you are using attachments, I suspect that it is your email program that is determining the order of the attachments and not Photoshop Elements. Also when the recipient views the photos, I suspect that their email program may also influence the order the attachments are viewed.
One approach that people sometimes use is to place the photos to be emailed in a PSE Collection, then use the PSE Organizer Export function specifying the Base Name option. Designate the output from the Export function to go to a new Windows folder that you create and then attach the contents of that folder to your email. (At the time that you  use the export function, you can also  downsize the resolution of the photo files for email transmission. Since the export function creates new files, you will not be overlaying your existing full resolution photo files.)
By choosing the Base Name function when you did the Export from the Collection, the file names will designate the sequence in which the photo files should be viewed.  Even if the recipients email program did not present the photo files in file name sequence, the recipient would have the possibility of downloading the photo files to their computer and viewing in Windows Explorer using File Name sequence.

Irgendwie verstehst du da grundsätzlich was falsch.

  • Photostream pictures shown on iphone..cannot find them anywhere else

    Ok,
    this is ridiculous!
Photostream is shown in the photos app
    camera roll shows 327 pictures
    photostream shows 1000 pictures.
How do I get them onto my MAC???????????????????????????????????????????????
    Tried Itunes
    Tried Icloud
    Tried share_pod
    Help please

OK, so if the User signed on on your Mac is using the same AppleID that your iPhone is using, and the iCloud account signed on to your Mac is the same iCloud account signed on to your iPhone, then a couple of things:
    - You should see a section in the sidebar in iPhoto on your Mac called Web, and just beneath that label, you should see an album called PhotoStream
    - Also, (and thanks to your question, I just discovered this - so thanks! ),  all photos in your PhotoStream should also show in the album called Photos in your Library section, right under Events.
If you are not seeing these, then something is not in sync between your iPhone and your Mac.....
Let me know what you see.
    Cheers,

  • No pictures shown just a logo

I have just downloaded Photoshop Elements 11 and all my pictures now just show an elements logo with no picture. How do I change this.previously I could see the images in files and folders. Please help

What operating system are you using?
Are you talking about windows explorer or inside the pse 11 organizer?
Is this for all file types including jpegs or just ones like psd files?
As an example, if it's in windows explorer on a windows system, open an explorer window and under Tool Options>Folder Options>View see if you have Always show icons never thumbnails checked.

  • Can't Find Pictures Shown in Screensaver

I recently set the "Forest" screen saver under "Pictures" in the system preferences under "Desktop & Screensaver." There are a few pictures I really like but they don't seem to 'exist' on my computer. Are these photos used on the screen saver on my hard drive, and if so how do I find them?

I just acquired a G4 laptop aluminum and am busy trying to get my basic functions to function.
I did find the screensaver modules where described in the last post, but when I'm in the System Preferences / Scrensaver area, and I select any of the screensavers, except for Flurry (which works fine, everything else shows no images, an in the area where you'd see the photo the words "Looking for slides..."
In setting up this laptop, I'd let the OS port over my system and files from my desktop system (G5 dual), and thought as most things came over fine, the screensaver should have come over fine, too.
I've tried recopying all the .slideSaver files that were talked about in the previous post. I've also restarted the laptop. Still, no images other than Flurry. And I loaded up my own photos and accessed them through the folder called 'Other', and it clearly is there, but again, the message when that selection is chosen says "Looking for slides..."
    What am I doing wrong?

  • Flickr - would like older random pictures shown

I have Flickr working with my pictures and I can access my albums and there's even one that selects your most recent 500 uploads.
One thing I love about the Apple TV is showing your photos in a screen saver.  I have more than 12 years of digitial photography, and it's nice to show some older pictures in the mix.  Is there a way to create a dynamic album in Flickr that will pull 500 or so random pictures from across the years and show it via the Apple TV?    Or even better a "Random (500)" album option built in.
I could do this manually, but it would be labor intensive and wouldn't refresh automatically over time.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!

In NTSC, you can go to .0334seconds
In PAL, you can go to .04 seconds
The above are the length of one frame of video.
The default settings let you edit to .1 seconds.
You can change this in iMovie Preferences by putting a check next to the box that says "Display Time as HH:MM:SS:Frames.
You can do 1 frame, and multiples of one frame, but you cannot do half a frame, so I don't know if you can do exactly .05 seconds.
