So, downloaded PSE 12 without problem.
Run the installer and get the "installer will not initialize" message.

  • My Adobe installer will not initialize to allow updates to be applied

I am trying to update my Photoshop Element 11 Editor to support raw files for my Nikon D5200 (which are suppose to be supported by 11 when proper updates are installed). Updates won't load because it says I seem to have a problem with my installer. I try to download a newer version as suggested, but the message I get is installer failed to initialize. Can anyone tell me what is going on?

    Hi,
Please install latest Adobe Application Manger and try to update E11 again:

  • Photoshop CS6 installer will not initialize - no log files generated

    Hi,
I am trying to reinstall Photoshop CS6 on a new computer I purchased. When I run the installer, the progress bar gets to the end and sits there for several minutes. Then the Adobe Installer windows just closes and no other installation windows open up. I have checked the /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers directory for a log file to see what is happening. But no log file is being generated.
Prior to installation, I ran the Adobe uninstaller as well as ZapIt to remove any old or corrupted CS 6 files.
I am running a 2014 macbook pro, Maverick OS 10.9.5. The machine has plenty of disk space and ram.
I am at my wit's end. Can anybody give me any guidance?

Photonut65 if the installer is failing to initialize then you will want to review the PDApp.log located in your temp directory.  You can find more details at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

  • Trying to download Ps Elements 10 to reinstall as has crapped out. Installer will not initialize.

I am trying to re-install Photoshop Elements 10. I don't use it much, but the editing function has crapped out and I cannot edit a few photos that I need to post. But, the installer is failing to initialize and "this could be due to a missing file." Adobe no longer supports the program. So I'm stuck. Don't want to give Adobe any more money for anything ever. They have become very difficult to work with over the past few years. Anyone have any tips on how to fix the issue?

Looks like an issue with the installation itself. Would suggest you first check if your system meets the minimum system requirement for installing PSE 10. System requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements
If it does, then i would ask you to uninstall PSE from your machine and then download it from this link and re-install PSE 10. Download Photoshop Elements products | 12, 11, 10

    Help

Member on LinkedIn and there is a group Adobe Software Users- some Adobe employees are there and responded to my question. This is where I found my answer but if you also try another forum such as one for Ae or which ever one you are having problems with I feel you will get ans answer. This forum is very old and this application is no longer in Adobe's radar as they have pretty much canned this application. If you go here http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa you can select the forum for the app. you wish. Hope all this helps.

  • Disk image will not initialize.

After downloading several times, disk image will not initialize. Dialog box -"The following disk images couldn't be opened Firefox 33.0.2 not recognized."
    Mac OSX 7.5.2

Thanks for the reply - unfortunately I can not see the Firefox Disk image, the file that I downloaded shows up, but does not create the Disk Image required to begin the installation process.
I have re-downloaded the file from Mozilla several times with the same result.

  • Photoshop elements 13 will not initialize after the program has been opened

Photoshop Elements 13 will not initialize after the program has been opened once.  If I remove Elements processes from task manager, Organizer will open  I am using Windows 7 and Elements 12 is also installed on the same computer.

the password and licensing agreement are needed for installation, not to run.

  • Installation will not accept my serisl number

Installation will not accept my serial number

First, are you sure you have a serial number and not a redemption code? A PSE serial number is 24 digits beginning with 1057, all numbers, no letters. If you have a redemption code, here's how to get a serial number:

  • HP installer will not detect networked LaserJet MFP M1536dnf just on some PCs

    Hello,
this printer/scanner was working fine (printer still works fine via a Windows print server). Then scanning (via network) stopped working on one PC (Windows 7).
Tried to uninstall drivers / HP software and reboot. Then tried to install again - HP Installer will not detect printer on the network no matter what. I can ping the IP of this printer, access its web interface without any issues on the same PC. Tried specifying IP address in the installer - does not detect, the same issue with MAC address.
Had a Windows 8 machine with drivers / software installed on it, tested - scanning still worked fine on that PC. Tried to remove HP software to see if problem will appear. And it did! I cannot install the same software package which I still had in downloads - it will NOT detect the printer on network.
Upgraded printer firmware - no change, even though I don't expect this to be a printer issue as it worked fine until I have uninstalled software on this W8 machine.
Tried using HP Scan & Print doctor. That thing doesn't see printer/scanner installed and only suggest to download and install software which is not helpfull at all.
I also tried extracting HP installation files and finding *.inf files which could be used to add scanner via Windows directly, but haven't succeded with that (I would also be not sure how to specify network IP address in such a case anyway).
Any help is MUCH appreciated. We are kind of stuck...
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Run some diagnostics and see if any issues are discovered.
There have been reported issues with the NVIDIA 650 with some of the HP PCs. Additionally, most models of the NVIDIA 650 require a 400 watt power supply as the minimum and some models require a PCI six (6) pin power connector which the 300 watt power supply in your PC is not provisioned.
There is a BIOS update posted for your PC so you might want to consider installing that update.

  • Windows 7 installation will not recognise the Bootcamp disc!

I have a 2008 Macbook running Snow leopard.
Installed Win 7 via bootcamp but when I insert the Mac Snow Leopard disc to install the Bootcamp drivers etc after the Win 7 install has succeeded, the Windows 7 installation will not recognise the disc!
    Any ideas
    Thanks in advance

If you used your Leopard DVD then it won't work.
As ScuseMe said only the OSX Snow Leopard DVD contains the drivers for Windows 7.

  • External hard drive will not initialize

I am running windows 7 32 bit and have a 80gb external hard drive.  When I connect the hard drive it shows up with all the correct drivers and and under the Disk management console it comes up but will not initialize.  The Initialize disk wizard
comes up and I have tried to do both option and a window comes up with "incorrect function".  I can see the disk in disk management but when I right click on the Disk 1 the only options are properties and help.  Initialized disk is at the top but
I am unable to click it.
How do I initialize a disk that will not give me a Initialize disk option?
Can I use Boot and Nuke to clear this drive during a startup?

    Hi,
Go to BIOS to check if BIOS can recognize the external HD.
Also you can try to use these command below:
    1 Run CMD with administrator
2 Input diskpart and press Enter
    3 Input these command:
DISKPART> SELECT DISK n (n is the disk number)
    DISKPART> ATTRIBUTES DISK CLEAR READONLY
    DISKPART> ONLINE DISK
    DISKPART> CONVERT MBR
    Hope that helps.

I just purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 but my PC is not recognizing my CDRom and I cannot download the program. I tried copying the files on the program disc to my hard drive but get a message the installer will not work. I have the redemption code and serial numbers. Can I download the program online somewhere? If I download a trial version for instance will it allow me to enter my serial number and use it for the full program?

  • Multiple programs will not initialize G5

Dual 2.3 G5 (June 2005) - Mac has been on or asleep for a few days. Went to open up GarageBand and received an OSX terminiated application message. Ran Disk Utility. Everything OK. Tried to restart, but the computer did not shut down - only the blank blue screen with all the icons reappearing. Same thing at shut down. Did power off and reboot a couple of times.
Activity Monitor will not run, nor Software Update. A few apps here and there will run, but so far, Safari only flashes for a second, Logic Pro, Ableton Live will not initialize. Can not add a user in the Systems Preference - when I try to hit one of the tabs in Accounts, System Preferences shuts down.
Removed all peripherals with exception of track ball and Bluetooth.
Just trying to postpone the inevitable, I suppose. Thanks for your help.

      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    The inevitable would be:
    SuperDuper
    Disk Warrior
    Applejack
    2 backup sets
    an emergency boot drive
If Safe Boot doesn't work, often trying to use fsck won't, so I use fsck first if not alternate boot to the emergency drive (Firewire).
Cleaning out all the temp and cache files can help, at first.
Have your test user account setup ahead of time and tested, along with a routine for backups and what to do when there is a failure.
Why does it happen? bad sector on the disk? bad RAM? software conflict? UPS didn't kick in when needed during a dip in power?
Doing a backup + erase + restore on a regular basis can also keep a system running more smoothly. And keep your boot drive with 40% or more free space, and upgrade your drives regularly (use old drives for backups).
Filesystems don't take kindly to freezes or trying to "plow through" a problem, and just bury the cause or underlying corrupt file or directory. Postponing insures it will be worse than it would have been.
