PSE 12 is freezing up with OSX Yosemite

Upgraded to Yosemite OS and found that PSE 12 now freezes up when using the clone or heal tools and requires to force quit the program.  Trying to get an answer from Adobe is just about impossible.  Any suggestions.

Hi,
We sincerely apologize for the problem customers are facing while using a trackpad with Photoshop Elements 11 & 12 on Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite).
We have been actively working with Apple to resolve this problem as quickly as possible. We're hopeful this will get completely resolved in an upcoming update of Yosemite(MAC 10.10).
In the meanwhile, you have two options to work around this problem:
1. Option1: Use a mouse instead of the trackpad
2. Option2: Install a plug-in which should workaround the problem
Plug-in installation instructions:
1. Close Photoshop Elements
2. Download this zip file to a location you can easily find (e.g. your desktop)
3. Unzip the file, WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin, and move it to the Plug-In folder:
• For Elements 12 – //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 12/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
• For Elements 11 - //Applications/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11/Support Files/Plug-Ins/
You can verify the plug-in is installed by launching the Photoshop Elements Editor and choosing Help > System Info... Scroll to the bottom of the text in the dialog and look for the plug-in name "WhiteWindowWorkaround.plugin".
Note: This plugin is a temporary workaround and should be used until this issue is addressed in Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite). Please remove this plugin once the issue is officially resolved by Apple.
If you are using a stylus in conjunction with a trackpad, you might see issues with your trackpad. Workaround in this particular case is to use mouse instead of the trackpad.
Hope this helps!

vaishali

  • Wifi problem with OSX Yosemite

I owned my first 13 inch MBP Late 2011 that came with OSX Lion. I upgraded my MBP with every new OSX releases and were very pleased with them.
With OSX Yosemite, I was very happy with the fresh new feel and looks of it. The problem with the new OSX it that my wifi connection suffers from it. The speed are getting slower and slower and the connection often drop off unexpectedly. The worst thing of all is that I can't connect to my windows phone wifi sharing. This doesn't happen with the previous OSXes. Please rectify this problem as soon as possible. Thank you.

  • Is Photoshop Elements 11 compatible with OSX Yosemite?

I want to know whether or not I should install the new OSX Yosemite update. I won't install the update if Photoshop Elements 11 isn't compatible with it. I've looked online and I can't find any reference to this yet, so I thought I should ask. Does anybody know? Also, if it isn't going to be compatible, will my .psd files that I created using Photoshop Elements 11 be compatible with other, newer Photoshop programs?

I've looked online and I can't find any reference to this yet
    Really? Try:
Photoshop Elements doesn't respond when you use editing tools in Mac OS X 10.10
    and
    http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/photoshop-elements-hangs-in-yosemite
for starters. So no, not entirely compatible. I would hold off on 10.10 if you want to keep using PSE 11 until at least 10.10.1 and then wait to see if it fixes the problems. In any case, the Graphic Novel and Comic filters have been making PSE crash since 10.9, so you'd lose those, at least, even if the other problems get fixed.

  • Slow internet speed with OSX Yosemite

I updated to OSX Yosemite & now my internet speed is painfully slow on my Mac book Pro 15 Retina.  It work fine (Great), prior to the update.  Is there a known problem and fix for this?

Yosemite created two problems for me and the problems happened immediately, I never had any internet connection problems with Mavericks OSX.
Problem 1) My internet speed went from 85MPS to 35MPS. This happened on both of my MacBook Pro Laptops with Yosemite. Using the same router with a non-Yosemite computer yields 85MPS or greater speeds.
Problem 2) WiFI connection looks normal but internet connections don't work. Pinging APPLE.com though the terminal yields the same result, No Response. I used the ping command to rule out a Safari problem. Normally one of my laptops will not go online at all.    *** To work around problem 2,  I am using Two Routers. If one doesn't connect or drops, I simply use the other one. Both Yosemite MacBooks drop my internet connections constantly, regardless of which router I use, but I have notice that the faster Comcast router drops more frequently. Sometimes when I connect to the COMCAST router I cannot get any internet data (Safari or Ping). This is very repeatable and is intermittent.
Apple please advise me what to do!!!!    I use VPN's and work through the internet. This is affecting my job performance.
    Thanks

  • Bluetooth problem with OSX Yosemite: Magic Mouse and Keyboard

    Hello everyone,
I've a problem on my MacBook Pro with Retina Display 13" (late 2013).
I've always used it plugged with an external monitor (I love double screen), magic mouse and bluetooth keyboard. On Mavericks everything was perfect with this setup.
Yesterday I installed OSX Yosemite and I've found a boring problem: my Magic Mouse and my Bluetooth Keyboard have a 0.5 second of latency, lag. This happen when the Macbook is not plugged with battery charger. When he is on charge, the problem don't exist.
I noticed this bug also on the public beta of this summer and submit the feedback.
I hoped that they fixed this before release but the bug is still here.
How can i solve this boring problem?

I also reported this issue again and again during each beta release.
This makes the MacBook basically unusable in battery power for doing any kind of design and coding work.
I don't have any bluetooth addons or third party utilities. I also tried clearing PRAMs, and reinstalling Yosemite, to no avail.
Here are some threads about the issue, which, I'm noticing, is common.

    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1802838
Note that while the issue is kind of tolerable using the mouse, it's tragic with the keyboard.
Does this prevent you from using OS X Yosemite?
The issue makes it very difficult for me to use OS X Yosemite

  • IPhoto not compatible with OSX Yosemite

    I have a MacBook Pro  (17 inch, early 2011) with a 2GHz Intel Core i7 and 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3.
A few weeks ago I downloaded the Yosemite operating system (10.10.3). Since then, my iPhoto application will not open. I can't save pictures to my computer from my phone and I can't edit pictures I've imported. When I try to open iPhoto, it says: "In order to open "iPhoto", you need to update to the latest version. The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac Apple Store."
I search the app store for iPhoto and no updates are available. The message displayed is: " The item you've requested is not currently available in the US store."
Anyone know what to do to solve this? I really need to be able to edit photos. Thanks for helping!

You need iPhoto 9.6.1 for use with 10.10.3.  Try the method Terence Posted in this topic to get it from the App Store:

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.
Otherwise you can drag your iPhoto Library onto the Photos app icon in the Dock to covert it to a Photos library.

  • Outlook 2011 for Mac syncing with OSX Yosemite

    Hi All
One major thing holding me back from updating to Mavericks and Yosemite is the seeming lack of support for syncing between Office 2011 for mac and the mac address book/calendar etc. I've been down the road of internet based mail with gmail and mac-mail but find them awful to use in comparison with Outlook. The functionality is not as good, simple things like capitalising first letters of sentences. Signatures look awful, fonts default etc etc and it just generally looks amateurish from the recipient end. I decided long ago to stick with Outlook 2011 but back then I could sync addresses, emails, contacts with address book and ical hassle free at the touch of a button. I am still running 10.8.5 on the office machine for this very reason and scared to update to Mavericks or Yosemite as I've done on my back-up machine and can see this no longer is supported. Can anyone help with this? I assume as it was once supported and now isn't its unlikely to be resupported. What should I do? I hate the idea of third party applications to get this to work. In the past this has lead to things being messed up and hours spent resetting. There was talk of Office for Mac 2014 but nothing seems to have materialised? Any thoughts/recommendations gratefully received...

I use Office 2011 on the Mac, and the absence of syncing contacts is a pain. For a while now I've use OS X Mail instead, which by and large handles Exchange email ok. Since Yosemite, my Mac email has gone downwards, so I'm not trying Airmail 2 which also has Exchange support and is a good deal more modern than Mac Mail. There is no sign of Microsoft ever updating Office for the Mac and catching up with three years of not updating Office 2011, apart from the occasional hint.
With Yosemite, Mail crashes, and looking at the log messages is having issues. I've done a clean install of Yosemite, and despite that still can't achieve stability. It may be me, or it may be Apple, hence the experiment with Airmail 2.
I have also not found any simple way to sync Outlook 2011 contacts with OS X Contacts in Mavericks or Yosemite.

  • I cant use Photoshop CS5 with OSX Yosemite because it suddenly stops! what can I do ?

How I can fix the problem with Yosemite and Photoshop CS5?

CS5 owners have simply been reinstalling CS5 from the original disk, or purchased download. That seems to be fixing it.

  • Frequent blank screen/freezes/crashes with OSX Mountain Lion

I updated to OSX Mountain Lion a few weeks ago. Now, after startup, my computer continuously gets slower with the number of applications that have been opened (even if I have closed them after I'm done with them) until it finally goes to a black screen where I can only see/move the mouse but nothing else- I don't even get the SBBOD. Ultimately I shut it down because its unresponsive. After rebooting, it most often tells me the culprit applications are either Safari or Adobe Reader, but occassionally its others like MS Word, iPhoto, and R. I'd like to think my system is powerful enough not be slowed down by such trivial applications (15" MBP Early 2011, 2.3 GHz i7, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD). On a side note, I've upgraded to both OSX Lion and then OSX Mountain Lion without ever doing a clean install- if that may be an aggravating factor? I thought disk space might be an issue so I downloaded MacKeeper to clean up my HD. While it recovered a lot of space on my HD by removing duplicates it hasn't done anything to improve this situation. I've also used the disk utility to repair disk permissions and repair disk. Any ideas? Should I call Apple?
    Other symptoms:
-iStatpro and other items on dashboard screen are always extremely delayed
-I can tell its going to happen soon when pressing command+space doesn't open the spotlight menu. But when I look over to iStat it says its running at normal T, fans are turning fast, and there ~3-4 GB RAM free...
