PSE 12 Uninstall?

I purchased PSE 12 several months ago.  It became corrupted (PSE 12 Organizer continually freezes) so I did an uninstall.  How do I download a replacement?  I still have the original software license key.

Hi Jimmay,
You can download PSE12 from : http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements&loc=us
and then use the serial number you have to activate the software.

  • How can I use my PSE  9 after PSE 11 uninstall killed it?

    Hi,
no thanks to Adobe's "This version is no longer supported" policy I end up here - I am VERY upset but I hope it does not show.
I got the PSE 11 as a trial to see if it would have improvements I'd need but I decided not to buy it. Most annoying for me was that PSE 11 registered as "the official PSE" version - so whenever I use Edit in Photoshop Elements in Lightroom I got the PSE 11 version ... great design chooice, to have a TRIAL take over a regular full installation.
Now that the trial is over I decided to uninstall it, hoping to have my trusty PSE 9 as default editor. But, woe to me, as soon as I had PSE 11 uninstalled and tried to start PSE 9 I got an error ...
"Unable to continnue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable"
Great - so I uninstalled PSE 9 via System Control and reinstalled it from DVD. First thing I noticed ... it no longer installed Photoshop Elements executable - you know, the one where you have to choose at start between Edit and Organize. All I could find was the actual PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe. It didn't install the Organizer either ... so something is VERY, very wrong.
And when I actually start the PhotoshopElementsEditor it get's to the point of "Reading Workspace Modes" before it pops the same error message as before ...
Great ... now ... does anyone have any idea how to get  me out of that mess?
(Just in case someone from Adobe is reading that ... you may not support PSE 9 any longer but you fail to mention that installation and uninstallation of PSE 11 CAN render prior installations unusable ... in case I don't find a solution to get my PSE 9 up and running again this should provide enough leverage ....)
Thanks in advance to any  helpful souls out there,
    HtFde

It seems that uninstall of PSE11 didn't go fine. Can you please refer to following KB article to make sure that PSE11 has been uninstalled succesfully and then try installing PSE9.

  • I had to uninstall PSE 12 can not reinstall it, how do I do it???

Since I bought the paid version of PSE12 I have had nothing but problems. So folks said uninstall it, of course I was hesitant, since it did not seem to work well when my IT guy installed it.
Si I did today, have a disc and the # and it almost is finished, when this shows up:
The following applications are using files that need to be updated by this setup.
Close the applications and click retry,
It will not go any farther.
Called customer service, who kept me on hold for 20 minutes, barely could understand her, than she sent me to forums.adobe.com
I am so irratated. My 8000, pictures have dissapeared and how do I get this reinstalled???
    Can someone please help me.

Uninstalling PSE does nothing to your pictures. They are stored separately from the catalog.
What exactly does the message tell you to close? Which programs?

  • Adobe PSE 11 installer defaults to the "uninstall" routine.

I’m trying to install PSE 11 from a downloaded < Adobe_PE11_T1.zip >.  Preferring a “clean” installation, first I uninstalled PSE 10 (Windows7 Control Panel / Programs); however, PSE 10’s program folder did not delete.  So, I deleted it manually, then ran Adobe’s <adobe_creative_suite_cleaner_tool>, and selected “All.”
Now, unzipping and installing PSE 11 causes the installer to default consistently to "uninstall."  I’ve performed cold boots between each step, and repeated the entire process with identical results.  How do I "reset" Adobe for a clean installation?
Windows 7 Home Prem. Svc Pk 1
Dell XPS 8100, x64-based; Intel Core i7 CPU
BIOS: Dell A03, 12/9/2009; RAM 8.00 GB; Virtual Mem.: 15.9 GB

Since you deleted PSE10 program files folder manually, it might create some issues. Please restart you system once and then look for any residues of PSE10 in program files\adobe\ and try installing PSE11.
    Thanks

  • How do I transfer photos from PSE 12 to PSE 13 and do I uninstall PSE12?

I have downloaded PSE 13, and now need to move the photos in PSE 12 organizer to PSE 13.  Do I uninstall PSE 12 after photo transfer?

PSE12 simply mirrors your folders on the hard drive of your computer. The Organizer stores nothing physically; simply making links to your folders.
Try copying outside Elements from the OS to Kindle.
Otherwise you probably need to contact Amazon.

  • Uninstalling PSE 7, 8, 9 and 10

I have PSE 7, 8, 9, 10 and now 11.  My Norton diagnostics program reports I have too many prorgrams and should uninstall some.  I did not uninstall PSE as I updated newer  versions.  If I uninstall 7 - 10, will I lose catalog files or otherwise do harm?

Thank you very much for your help.  mike

  • Uninstall PSE 9 with Windows 8

I am trying to uninstall photoshop elements 9 after installing PSE 12. I am using Windows 8 and all the instructions I have found to manually uninstall are for Windows 7 or Windows XP. I keep getting an error message like the one shown below.

You could try running the MS FixIt tool.

  • Would it be better to uninstall previous versions of pse before installing pse12?

would it be better to uninstall previous versions of pse before installing pse12?

It's not just the changes in the organizer. See:
What features from previous versions are not available in Adobe Photoshop Elements 12?

You might also ask for help in the Lightroom forum.
What I have found is that when I upgraded from PSE12 to 13, my Lightroom 5.6 still selected PSE12 in the list of external editors. I had to use the preferences menu to select the right PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe in the Program Files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 13 folder. I got a message stating that Photoshop Elements was already selected as external editor. In that message box, there is a button with the option to 'change anyway', which I did. Now LR correctly opens PSE13 when I choose Edit in Elements.

  • PSE 6 for Mac - how do I uninstall?

Can't find an uninstall program in PSE but Readme text says to use it vs. dragging apps to trash...I even looked on the install disk.  Nada.

Start the installer just like you're going to install, only instead of Install Components, choose Remove Components.

  • Uninstall PSE 10 (to install 12)

I had PSE 10 and Premier 9 installed in Win.7^64. Bought PSE 12 and Premier 12.   PSE 10 is not listed in Control Panel for uninstalling.  (Noticing after its long use only when  I wanted to UN-install).  PSE 12 won’t install unless PSE 10 is gone.  No idea how to UN.install PSE 10. So far, feel screwed.  Premier 12 won't install, either.

For manually uninstallying PSE10, please see the article: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/manually-remove-photoshop-elements-10.html
Just to let you know: Any two (or more) versions of PSE/PRE can co-exit. For intalling PSE/PRE12 you don't need to uninstall PSE/PRE10.

  • PSE 10 refuses to uninstall.

I purchased PSE 13.  I attempted an 'overwrite' installation of PSE 13 over PSE 10...but that failed.  Then I attempted to uninstall PSE10 via Windows 7 'add & remove' programs.  That failed too.  Finally, I tried to uninstall PSE 10 using Revo Uninstaller Pro.  That failed.  Now I have a crippled copy of PSE 10 that won't uninstall and won't allow me to install PSE 13.
THE ADOBE LIVE CHAT SUPPORT FOR PSE COULD NOT PROVIDE ANY EFFECTIVE ANSWERS.
Can anybody there offer some guidance?  PLEASE!

    Hi,
What do you mean by "overwrite"?
It is recomended to allow each version to create its own folder structure for the program files. Most people keep the older version until they are happy with the new version and then uninstall the old version.
Since your version 10 appears to have got messed up, the only option I can see is a manual uninstall as per these instructions.
Manually remove Photoshop Elements 10 | Windows
When you are installing version 13, I suggest you leave the location as the default unless you want to change the drive letter.
If that fails, please let us know if there is any error message.

  • I have PSE 8 installed do I need to uninstall before installing PSE 12?

I have PSE 8 installed do I need to uninstall before installing PSE 12?

No. From the very beginning all versions of PSE have been able to coexist.

  • Can't uninstall an old version of PSE!

I'm trying to uninstall an old version of PSE 6 from my computer. I've followed all the instructions as copied below, but I can only find the uninstaller for PSE 13, which I just installed today.
Under the  /Applications/ Utilities/ Adobe Installers folder, I have 3 items:
    • Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit 2
    • Adobe Photoshop Elements 6
    • Uninstall Photoshop Elements 13
Nothing that I can see to uninstall PSE 6.  Can anyone help me figure this out?
Open Finder and navigate to /Applications/ Utilities/Adobe Installers.
Start the Uninstaller for contents or application.
    Uninstall Adobe Premiere Elements content
    Uninstall Adobe Premiere Elements
                                 Or
    Adobe Photoshop Elements Content
    Adobe Photoshop Elements
If you're not planning on reinstalling the application, select Remove Preferences. Otherwise, do not select this option..
    Click Uninstall.

The pse 6 uninstaller is the one that says Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 in
    /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers
You might want to consider just leaving pse 6 installed so if you need any of the features that were removed from pse 13 or need to run older 32 bit plugins, since pse 13 only can use 64 bit plugins.
If you really want to get rid of pse 6, unistall pse 13 first, then unistall pse 6 and reinstall pse 13.
