PSE 12 won't start/open...

After months of trouble-free use, suddenly today PSE 12 will not start or run on my PC.
Running Windows 8.1
I got an error message that it could not open a .jpg file due to it being "truncated or incomplete". Closed PSE to reopen and try again, but will not open. Tried clicking on the shortcut, starting from the Programs list, even opening the Programs folder and attempting to start the .exe file directly. Nothing works. Any ideas??? Thanks.

After you close Elements, hold down the Ctrl+Shift+Alt keys and simultaneously right-click on the exe file and choose open. After a few seconds release the three keys and look for a pop-up dialog. You should get the settings option.
When you see a pop up box with the words: Delete Adobe Photoshop Elements Settings File?
Click on Yes
Then wait whilst Elements rebuilds the preferences.

Premiere elements 11 program won't start/open anymore.

I was using at 7am no problem and my computer died (it has done that numerous times before and i've never expeirneced this problem, just died because the power chord is loose) and then i go to finish editing around 4p and now the program won't open. everythingelse (google, files, media, other programs) run and open fine but not premiere. I am not tech savvy and don't really understand what other forums are saying, i'm definitely consumer level. please please help, i don't want to lose my work.

If you need specs i need a walk through how to check. Its a dell computer that can run world of warcraft just fine so i don't think its the driver or graphic card, and again premiere was working just this morning.

Typically I start with lots and lots of questions to define the situation.
In view of the circumstances that you describe, I am going to start with a suggestion rather than questions. Then, if the suggestion does not work, then I will send a lot of questions your way.
Delete the Premiere Elements 11 settings file, named Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs. In Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit, the path to it is:
Local Disk C
Users
Owner
AppData
Roaming
Adobe
Premiere Elements
11.0
and in the 11.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 11.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.

Itunes won't start/open/launch

I keep getting an error message that "Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I haven't been able to open my Itunes in quite a while. I have tried many of the solutions listed in earlier posts. I see LOTS OF PEOPLE are having this same problem. Some posts date back to January and probably farther! I am on Windows XP. Does anybody know if Apple ever comes up with solutions to these problems? Do their tech people monitor these forums? Are we really supposed to keep trying the same non-solutions that other users have tried? These little trinkets were not cheap to buy and it would sure be nice if they actually would work. Should I be looking at buying another brand?

Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I seen this issue posted before, its usually caused when the iTunes application become corrupted. This can be caused by a number of things, possibly a virus.
First: try iTunes in a different user. (could be you user account.)
Best fix usually though is to reinstall iTunes. I'd run a virus scan if I were you, just in case that is the issue. Otherwise its an unresolved Apple issue that needs to be rectified.
And, yes Apple does monitor these forums. (you may even ocasionally see one logged in...)

I have tried to upgrade itunes 6. and the software contines to crash. the offset number 10001040. I have uninstalled & reiunstalled 4 times and still come up with the same error

CS4 trial will not start/open

I downloaded the full trial of DW CS4, clicked to open the
program, I get the green DW box and it will not go any further, I
disabled all firewalls and Virgin media security but it still won't
start/open.
All I get is the windows busy symbol, and then "program not
responding"

Firefox browser won't start or open & keep crashing on desktop

Today I got a strange problem which is kind of strange to my, so some of the details and what happened? It was just shut down the Firefox browser and trying to open it again but i got a crash pop-up message !
Not only this, but that the crash message keep pop-up, which compelled me to send a first report, the second report, etc. a lot of reporting and the problem is still there! So I then tried to fix the Firefox browser by clicking on the re-start Firefox and even reset Firefox but this did not work \\!
So right now I use Chrome browser in order to report the problem

Note: A "clean reinstall" was one of the suggestions in [/questions/964132]. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

What installed iPhoto there in the first place? Was it the same version of iPhoto that came with the Mac? Was iLife added at a later time from a Mac Box Set? You can selectively install iPhoto, and then apply the appropriate iLife update without taking it to the shop, after removing the application, or recover it from your backup.

Cs6 won't start, trial version opens instead of real version

after re-installing my system from time machine cs6 won't start, instead the trial version opens. Serial number is not accepted. What to do?

I followed your instructions and un-installed CS6. By installing from cd i'll got the message that my serialnumber is invalid. It is the same serial number as shown in my adobe and on the receipt. What to do?

3. Try to find if there is any uninstaller for the CS6.
4. If you find the uninstaller then simply uninstall the application and then reinstall it.

InDesign cs5 crashes when starting. Won't even open, ever since osx 10.8 then 10.9 upgrade

Ever since upgrading, InDesign won't even open. Crashes upon startup. "Sends to apple automatically" but what ever really comes of that? Anyway, I don't have the original install discs anymore (lost in the move between offices) so I can't reinstall. But my work depends on this!

Itunes won't start clicking to open itunes freezes computer

My problem started with the latest version of itunes (11.3 for windows 64 bit). I am running windows 7. The update froze my computer so I uninstalled itunes and downloaded 11.3. It wouldn't complete so i uninstalled again and it took a long time but completed. I clicked on the icon to start and nothing happened EXCEPT it froze my computer! Came to this forum and tried all the fixes (ironically, the fix by apple for this problem want you to start itunes in safe mode. Hello, it won't start at all (following all procedures) . I have tried everything including deleting all apple out of regedit. I have tried everything I could find including running 3 different virus programs to see if I have a virus. No virus. Brand new Quicktime. Uninstalled Bonjour. Can someone please help? Thanks.

I'm replying to my own fix here in case someone else wants to try an easy fix: I uninstalled every mention of apple and itunes from my computer. Installed a previous version (itunes 10.7) for 64 bit. Deleted library.itl since there was nothing in it and it works! after 15 hours of trying all of the suggested fixes, the new install took about 10 minutes.I guess windows 7 just hates itunes 11.3 (or vice versa!) Anyway, i'm happy now.
