Please add support for Camera RAW Canon PowerShot G2,
it may be ancient, but there are still a lot of G2s out there, and it's annoying to have a different workflow for pictures from them...

  • Lack of support for Camera Raw plugin for Mac 10.6.8

I'm hoping to find some solutions to the road block I've run into.    I'd been using Photoshop CS6 with Mac OS 10.6.8 without any problems.
Then I got a new camera this week, and that's when the problems began.....
I wanted to edit the raw files (R2W format) from the Panasonic GH4, and needed to install the proper Camera Raw plugin.   I installed version 8.6, and not only did Photoshop refuse to acknowledge the installed plugin, but it was no long able to open ANY digital photograph.
I tried installing version 8.5, as well as removing various preference files, repairing permissions, rebuilding volumes (via DIsc Warrior + Drive Geinus) and all sorts of other suggestions I found online.   I was really hoping that a manual drag + drop of the plugin to the  Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CC/File Formats folder would do the trick, but NOTHING seemed to work for me.  I spent most of the day on Thursday trying to figure a solution, and wound up going back to my original Camera Raw plugin (version 8.3) just to be able to use Photoshop again.
I would have liked to have used the DNG Converter, but it doesn't work with Mac OS 10.6.8 either.
There's various reasons why I continue to use 10.6.8 as my primary OS - so many of my OTHER favorite softwares were radically changed or eliminated with the so-called "upgrades" and I really hate the way so many things were altered in what should be simple navigation in the Finder.  I do have OS 10.8 installed on a backup hard drive, but I really don't want to use this as my primary OS....  at least not at this point in time.
    So here's my plea ...
    Adobe -
PLEASE give me an updated version of the Camera Raw plugin that I can use with Photoshop CS6 under Mac OS 10.6.8.
PLEASE provide a version of DNG Converter that will also work with that particular set-up.
.... or help me find a solution so I can install these plugins without the massive headaches.

You can hook up the external 10.8 drive, boot into it, run the DNG 8.5 converter there pointing it to your raw files folder, boot back to the 10.6.8 system and you should have DNGs that will open in ACR 8.3

  • I am looking for Camera RAW for Elements 11 for a Nikon D610

Does anyone have the link for Camera RAW for Elements 11 for a Nikon D610?

According to the Adobe Supported Camera List - a D610 needs ACR 8.3:
Camera Raw plug-in | Supported cameras
According to the Adobe Apps list, ACR 8.3 only works with PSE12:
    Camera Raw-compatible Adobe applications
So either upgrade your PSE to 12, or use the DNG Converter 8.3 or 8.4, to convert the NEFs to DNGs that PSE11 can read.  The DNG Converter can be found, here:

  • Still Looking for Camera Raw Plug-In for CS4

I have Adobe CS4, and, after extensive searching, cannot find the correct version of the Camera Raw plug-in for my Mac (OS 10.6.8).  I just did successfully download and install the DNG converter 8.1 for Macs.  Today I downloaded version 5.4 for mac then it told me to quit before proceeding with the installation, that there was a newer version available.  Adobe states my camera's minimum requirement for Camera Raw is version 5.4.

Can anyone guide me to the right one?  Camera Raw only been a dream until now.  I finally have a great DSLR that supports raw, I've been playing around with it in iPhoto, but it's now time for me to take this to the next level.
    Thanks very much.

Ask such specific questions on the Camera RAW or Photoshop forums and include info about your camera. If it's a newer model, this may ber perfectly normal and the files may require you to upgrade to CS5.1 so you can use the latest versions of Camera RAW or use the standalone DNG converter...

  • Can not find folder to load camera raw presets on MAC.  I have searched and says to drop in the library/application support/adobe/camera raw/settings folder but I do not have this folder or can no locate it. I get as far as lib/appsupoort/adobe/camera raw

I just made the switch to mac. I am have installed all the new PS6 CC and bridge and I am not trying to add some presets to my  ACR but when I search for the folder to place them it is not there.  From what I researched it says it should be under camera library/application support/adobe/camera raw/settings but I can only get to library/application support/adobe/ and then there are two different camera raw options I have checked both and there are not settings folder. If anyone can help me please thanks

    You want your user library
    Mac(user)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw/Settings
In finder click on Go then hold down the Option key and then click on Library

  • Are there new updates for camera raw for Lightroom 4, or only for Lightroom 5, as in 5.3 ?

Are there new updates for camera raw for Lightroom 4, or only for Lightroom 5, as in 5.3 ?

There will be no further camera support updates for Lightroom 4 beyond what is already listed in this table.
    http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Only current versions of Lightroom (currently Lightroom 5.3) will have further camera support added.
If you need to work with Raw files from new cameras you'll either have to upgrade to Lightroom 5 or join the Photoshop Photography Program (to get PC CC + LR5 + extras) or convert to DNG using Adobe's free DNG converter.

  • Aperture support for unsupported raw formats

I was doing some tests with Aperture to see if it could fit my workflow. My concern was support of old files from a Nikon Coolpix 5400, raw (thanks to firmware update at the time) as well as a recent Nikon DSLR. No problem with the DSLR. 5400 was not supported. After some internet research I found out there is a pref file (Raw.plist in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/ ImageIO.framework/Versions/A/Resources) that has info about all supported cameras. This add raw support for the cameras listed in the file for Preview, iPhoto, Aperture (system-wide). Same list that Apple provides as camera compatibility list.
In that list I chose to duplicate the NIKON-E8400 array and renamed it NIKON-E5400. Didn't change any value in the array. To my surprise, even without rebooting, this added support for the Nikon Coolpix 5400 images. The image looks pretty much the same with these default settings (when opened in Preview for example) than it does in ACR in CS2. The only odd difference is the image size loosing 10 vertical pixels (from 2592x1944 opened in ACR CS2 to 2592x1934). I have no idea why it does this but it is no big deal really as it is no scaling, just loss of pixels.
I am a bit concerned of course about the possibility to carry on this tweak in the next OS updates.
I guess any raw from any camera could have support this way.
Just need to name the array in Raw.plist properly. For mine I just opened a raw in text edit and saw first line the name of camera, was "NIKONE5400". I compared the format of this name to other names in the array and decided to add the "-" to look like others so "NIKON-E5400", and that was it. Now I was lucky the default setting for the 8400 I used as a base worked for the 5400, apparently. It could have not been the case and then I would have had to play with the values in the array. Quite a few so a long process I am afraid, but possible.
The deal would be to release a little utility software that would let us play with these values easily and see a result live on a sample image, and once satisfied it would modify this Raw.plist file. This way people could add support to their own raws.
If anyone in the know sees a big issue in doing what I did please tell.
Of course playing with this Raw.plist file is at your own risks so keep backup and bee careful.
The tweaking of this raw.plist file had been talked about in different forum in the past concerning the support of Canon 3xxD that had a different US name Rebel something. The change of name of the corresponding array added support before an OS update did it for everyone.

I also modified my Raw.plist file to import RAW files from my Olympus C-5050Z. But that doesn't make Aperture import a type of RAW file it didn't support before. It just turns out that your Nikon 5400 RAW files are the same format as the Nikon 8400 files except for size, just as my Olympus C-5050 files are substantially similar to the Olympus C-7070 files. I think the Raw.plist file used by ImageIO contains hints on how to treat the data and color in the images and as long as the cameras don't behave too differently, substituting one model with another will work.
The RAW.plist file is a standard plist file that can be examined and modified with the Property List Editor. What I would like to see is documentation of the parameters so that we can more easily add support for cameras that aren't supported out of the box.

  • I have PE11 I try PE12 When update for Camera raw is ok for my Nikon D610 ?

I have PE11 I try PE12 When update for Camera raw is ok for my Nikon D610 ?

Support for Nikon D610 is added is ACR 8.3 only. Hopefully it would be available for PSE12.
If you want to use your Nikon D610 raw files with ACR in PSE11, you can instead use adobe camera raw convertor to convert your raw files to .DNG format.
You can download ACR 8.3 convertor from http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/cameraraw8-3.html?PID=5157839

  • Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for the RAW files. I have DNG 8.7 but wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon Thanks for any advice

Just bought a Nikon d750 and confused about adobe LR4 and PS6 support for the RAW files. I have DNG 8.7 but wondering if LR and PS will import direct soon Thanks for any advice

Support for the Nikon D750 was introduced in the latest version of LR 5.7 and ACR 8.7 on Novemder 18th 2014.
Further updates to LR 4 were stopped when LR 5 was released on June 9th 2013. No further updates for bug fixes and new camera support.
Nada, LR 4 will never support Nikon D750. The Nikon D750 was introduced into the market in September 2014 some 15 months after further development of LR 4 was discontinued.
You can use the Adobe DNG program (free download for the package) to convert the Nef (raw) files from your Nikon D750 to the Adobe DNG format which will permit you to import those into LR 4. This is the crutch provided by Adobe to allow for the processing of raw files with outdated versions of LR and ACR.
You can also update the ACR plugin for PS CS6 to version 8.7 which can also work with the raw files from the D750. For direct support in Lightroom you will need to upgrade (paid) to version 5.7.

I'm sure there will be support for the camera eventually. But Adobe never announces that information in advance. It's possible that it could be added to the 8.7 final release and to the next update of Lightroom. But that depends on the timeline and if the engineers were able to get the camera in time to create profiles. You'll just have to wait and see.

  • Elements 11 states that it does not support the camera raw from my new Nikon D600 and that I should

Elements 11 states that it does not support the camera raw from my new Nikon D600 and that I should go to "the Camera Raw help documentation." When I click on the help menu I get a message from my browser stating that it is a dangerous website. Now what

Unfortunately it was clicking on Updates that brought the “dangerous website” pop-up, but several hours later I tried again for the umpteenth time, and it worked! I am so glad because I am working on a project with a deadline.
Thanks for replying. Maybe if someone else has this problem they could be told to wait a few hours and try again.
The main option on the ‘dangerous’ pop-up is a “Get me out of here!” button, which I always clicked. There are options to go to the website anyway, but I am too leery of the web to do that. Now that I know it’s possible to reach the update center without risk I will never consider it.
    Thanks again,
    Lynn

  • How can I use the color adjustments interface that shows up for camera RAW on jpeg files?

How can I use the color adjustments interface that shows up for camera raw on other files types? The HLS controls had the secondary color adjustments (6 colors instead of the 3). Plus, it had same vibrancy and a better Curves interface. Yesterday was the first time I imported raw into Photoshop CS5 and I got that really cool interface. What is that? Can I use that on other file formats?

Actually I am using the Tradional Chinese Version, when I try to edit the jpg file with camera raw, the system shows that there is no camera raw plug-in. The cmaera raw never work.

Which version of photoshop or photoshop elements are you using?
    Which operating system?
There is no such version as cs10.
Do you mean photoshop shop elements 10?
If you go to Help>About Photoshop Elements (windows) or Photoshop Elements Editor>About Photoshop Elements (mac), that should tell you which version you have.
