PSE -5, loss in sharpness of pictures when placed in slide show

In PSE-5, when good pictures are transferred from tagged groups to the slide show, there is a significant loss of picture quality despite using "high quality". Is there a way to make the pictures in slide show have the same quality an in the storage areas of Photoshop?

I'm a little confused as to where you tried to delete the slideshow from.
Was it from the actual Project Browser, where all the assets are listed?
Can you try deleting the surplus slideshow from there, and let us know what happens please?

Long answer:
iTunes in the Cloud is a feature of your iTunes store account that allows you to redownload or stream your past purchases. When you delete a purchased track that is downloaded to your computer (like the first one shown here) you are asked if you also want to hide the song from iCloud. This would remove it from the computer and also stop it showing up with the iCloud symbol as the other tracks from that album (which are not downloaded) do.
If a track shows with the cloud symbol you can play (stream) it by double-clicking the title, or click the cloud symbol to download a local copy to your library. If you try to delete one of these tracks you get a slightly different message confirming that you want to hide the track. Clicking hide will remove the listing from the library and any other device that shows your past purchases.
Should you want to retrieve any item hidden in this way at a later date use Store > View My Account > iTunes in the Cloud > Hidden Purchases > Manage.
To hide all your previous purchases that are not downloaded to your computer use Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.

What version of iPhoto?
Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

It sounds as if your Apple TV is in Conference Room Display mode. You will need to turn this off. See this article -

Adding pictures to an existing slide show

How can I add new pictures to an existing slide show. The site was created in Muse and uses their slide show module.

You can't. Iphoto plays the music track. It's it's 3 minutes long then it plays for 3 minutes.
So if you want to play segements you'll need to copy the track, duplicate it and edit it to the requied length
Or
Use an app that supports multiple audio tracks.

It's difficult to compare these apps. They have differences in capability - some are driven off templates. some aren't. Some have a wider variety of transitions. Others will have excellent audio controls. It's worth checking them out to see what meets your needs. However, there is no doubt that Final Cut Pro X is the most capable app of them all. You get what you pay for.

First, get an app called MPEG Streamclip, which is free. (google MPEG Streamclip from Squared 5)
Open MPEG Streamclip.
In iMovie, select the clip you need. Then, right-click/Reveal in Finder.
Drag this clip into MPEG Streamclip
In MPEG Streamclip, move the playhead to the frame you want.
In MPEG Streamclip, click FILE/EXPORT FRAME.
Choose JPEG, TIFF, or PNG and give it a name.

PSE 8, No audio when creating a slide show

I am unable to create a slide show with audio. All other functions in the slide show function properly but unable to get the audio portion to play. Receive error message "Unable to add audio file, the selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (CODEC) installed." Checked and all the Vista CODEC's are installed & functioning properly. Checked and downloaded the latest CODEC from Realtek for the audio board. No audio recognized within Organizer or from file folders. Went to Adobe Tech. and got brushed off. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

1. I have Windows Media Player 11. It plays my music files which are mostly .MP3 I am unable to locate the Adobe music files using Windows Explorer. May be an indication that they didn't load when the program was installed. I have uninstalled and re-installed PSE 8. from my disc's.
2. I Tunes is my primary player.
3. OS is Vista Home premium
After running around in circles for several days I have tried the following:
1. I opened PRE8 and created a slide show and imported audio file from my music folder. Played OK. Slide show performed OK. I did not locate the included music folder with program.

Note that it is searching in PSE6 for the file. I missed that before. I long ago uninstalled PSE6 and PSE 7 was installed in its place and since PSE8.
Now I am suspicious that the music files never loaded with the install of PSE8 and it is searching for music files that no longer exist. Not sure what is corrupted and not sure what else to try. I think I will reload PSE7 and see if I can locate the included audio files and attempt to load a slide show with PSE7.

Why are images distorted when burning a slide show to iDVD from iPhoto?

I have created a slide show in iPhoto and wanted to burn a DVD. Some of the images are scans from old family pictures.
The images present in the proper aspect ratio within iPhoto, but when I burn the CD in iDVD, some of the images are either compressed in from the sides or widened unacceptably. Anyone know why the images are being distorted?

I gave the iphoto slide show a show and although I couldn't access the options in the idvd dialog box, I liked the end results better. I included 225 pics, and the random transition's option from iphoto enhances the outcome. The random transition option is not available in idvd.

When I take clear and distinct pictures from my picture files and put them in a slide show with music the pictures become distorted and blurry. These are generally good quality and print up fine.
Also how do I transport them from Elements to Premier, it has a tab to do that but when I get to the elements file I don't know where to drag and drop into.

Where are you seeing these distortions and blurs, in the Elements Organizer Slideshow Editor Filmstrip or in the Premiere Elements workspace after you have transferred the slideshow from the Elements Organizer 9 Slideshow Editor to Premiere Elements workspace?
What are the pixel dimensions of the photos in this slideshow and how many of these photos are in the slideshow? What format are they in..jpg, psd, other?

Where is the frame rate setting control when making a slide show?

I am trying to make a slide show using QuickTime Pro and cannot find the frame rate control.I put all my consectively-numbered jpegs in one folder. I then clicked on "File," the "Open Image Sequence," then a window opened up and I click on the first jpeg in the series of photos I want in my slide show. Then the first image appears in the QT Window. The instructions next say that I should be able to change the rate at which each slide/jpeg appears, but it doesn't tell you where to find the "frame rate" so I can change it. It doesn't appear at all on its own, so where is it? Anything else I'm missing? Thank you.

Can I view the photos in my Pictures folder as a slide show

I store my photographs in the Pictures folder (Album?) rather than any other app. I have organised my photos into folders within this main folder. Is there a way to view the photos in a particular folder as a slide show? This was possible in my Windows XP computer. Many thanks in advance.

Adobe MUSE. Logo not showing when full screen slide show is above header...

In Adobe Muse.
When I set the homepage slide show to 100% width and bring it full bleed to the top of the page, the logo gets covered up. Everything else shows, the tabs and fly outs, but the logo disappears. The only difference is the logo is a GIF file. Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
The GIF is set to be the top object and is pinned to the top left corner.
Any help is appreciated.

Kindly add a new layer (via the layers panel), move the logo to this new layer; and ensure that this layer is on top of the rest.

In the older versions, there was a picture tasks menu, which allowed be to export the pictures to a slide show with music.Thats option is gone now in Acrobat professional 8 / 8.1.
Why Adobe is degrading its products!!! I regret purchasing the new version...
is there any way to do this?
I covert all my jpegs to a single pdf & then export it to a slide show...

It sounds like you may have had a plug-in that did the extra things you are talking about. You can make a slide show with transitions and all, but it takes time is not a simply menu item. You can set the timing for each slide or the timing as a whole. Adding music is an additional step. All of this can be done in Acrobat, but the automated aspect you mention is not part of Acrobat. Again, you may have used a plug-in that did it all for you. You might check PlanetPDF or the PDFZone to see if there are such plug-ins available.

PSE 10 will not open the picture when coming from "edit in" in LR4.

Just installed LR4, when choosing "edit in" PSE, the Elements program opens, but the picture does not display. Is anyone else having this problem, or know what I need to do to fix this?

Make sure you are linking in LR Preferences to PhotoshopElementsEditor in Support Files and not an alias.
In Finder hold down Opn (alt) and click Go to reveal the Library.
The other thing to check is your camera raw plug-in which I think needs to be version 6.7 to be compatible with LR4.
Launch the PSE10 Editor and on the menu click:
Help >> Updates
Install ACR 6.7 if available.
