PSE 6 lockup in email Share

I'm a new PSE 6 user, and this will be my first e-mail image share. In Share w/email attachments, at the select recipients step, the computer locks up when I click the "edit recipients in contact book" icon (small silhouette of person). I'm trying to add a contact before sending, but I'm stuck . . ..
I use Win XP, Outlook Express, 1GB.
Any solutions?

Here's what someone else did to get it working:
1. Rename the old contacts.xml file as xcontacts.xml in the following
location: Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\Organizer\Settings
2. Did a normal shutdown and re-start of the computer (not just
reboot, though I know it shouldn't make a difference, I've found it
just seems to work better when I do).
3. Opened Elements and started with Share/Photo Mail and re-initiated
the database.
So far this has been successful and I have been able to add and
delete contacts.

  • Preview email share doesn't work after TB update

After I applied the TB 1.2 firmware update, the email share in Preview & Acrobat (11) stopped working. In Preview I only get the message & airdrop options. In Acrobat I get the error "The SendMail doesn't know how to talk to your default mail client.  Please select a different mail application to use.". It may just be a coincidence it happend after the FW update, but I use the share option all the time & the FW update was the only system change made.

Doh, I've found the answer to my own question.
In Mail Preferences, under 'General', the first preference is "Defaut email reader" which should naturally be 'Mail 6.0'.  Very bizarrely Parallels had changed this Mail Preference to some weird Windows program [Disk Clean up or something equally random] thus preventing me from emailing anything from any program.  I discovered the answer on a Microsoft Word forum [how ironic is that] as the 'Share as email attachment' option wasn't working in Microsoft Word.
Has anyone else discovered Parallels to be messing with their Preferences?

  • Iphoto won't share photos by email, share file won't open.

iphoto won't share photos by email, share file won't open. what do I do?

Remember: we cannot see your machine. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS.  So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Basic things like :
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

  • PSE 8 No Email Program Error When Sending an Email

    Hi Everyone,
I have a student who has a pretty new computer running Win 7 with PSE 8. She has set up her email sharing with Adobe Services and has received/entered the verification code. However, when trying to send an email, she gets the following error message as soon as she hits Send.
"There is no e-mail program associated to perform the requested action.  Please install an email program or, if one is already installed, create an association in the Default Programs control panel."
Running PSE 8 as an administrator does not correct the problem. I thought that when you are using Adobe Email Service, you did not need an email program, like OL or Microsoft Mail. ??
    TIA Don S.

No, I never did get an answer.
To be honest I cannot remember if my student resolved their problem. I have never had that specific error message, and the last time I checked PSE 8 was emailing fine. HOWEVER, just yesterday, the only way I could send email from within PSE 7 was to not include any names from the PSE Contact list. This always caused PSE 7 to crash for both OL and Adobe Email Service, Photo Mail or Attachments. I have not checked PSE 8 yet.
I found out about the PSE 7 problem from a friend using OL. For her, it was working but all of a sudden, began to crash PSE 7.
Does anyone know if PSE 7/8 connects with Adobe while emailing, even if OL is used as the email client?

  • Email / share individual sheet within a spreadsheet doc?

Is it possible to email (share) an individual sheet within an inumbers document?  I use inumbers to make daily job logs that must be emailed everyday and it is very annoying to have to copy and paste each sheet into another document and then have to change the name every time before I can email them.  Are there any other options?

Yes. Simply create a table that collects the data from the individual sheets and base your chart on that table. You can put the collection table on a seperate sheet, out of the way. The chart and table do not have to be on the same sheet.

  • PSE 7 Disappointing  Email Options...

    Hi all,
I purchased PSE 7 for Windows as a gift for my wife, since PS Extended is a bit over the top for her. With all the awards and hype in the videos, I was geared up for a great program.
Some stuff is great, but some stuff is, well, kind of insane.
For example, I had to go in and create my own icons in order to avoid the welcome screen which is worse than anything Apple has come up with for in-your-face advertising and promotion. Adobe, please include an option to get rid of the welcome screen in PSE 8.
Then I had to go into the options and turn off all the promo stuff. Please include an opton on install to get rid of this garbage.
The disk crunching on a dual core with 7500 RPM and a GB of memory (not a lot, but double the requirement on the box) is way over the top when you launch the editor. PS Extended with 3D capability launches quicker on this same machine...WTF?
Last but not least, and my chief complaint, is that not only is Thunderbird missing from the Share e-mail import list (and it is our default e-mail program on my wife's machine), but you can't import .CSVs  either, so there is no way to export addresses from Thunderbird and manually import into PSE! Thunderbird is a popular program. I have a MAC with PS Extended and don't know if the same problem exists on PSE 7 for MAC.
This is half Thunderbirds fault (for not having a vCard export option), but why oh why can't PSE just list Thunderbird on the e-mail program list or just have a default e-mail option and launch and email like the dumbest included-with-the-camera programs out there.
I can't believe I now have to manually enter about 500 addresses on PSE as part of my wife's gift. There has GOT to be a workaround!
    Ugh...

    Thanks, Barb_O
Your response is well thought-out, and I offer these thoughts for further consideration:
We never know what subset of what pictures will go to what subset of friends or contacts.
Not everyone we know is interested in logging on to a remote site to get access to photos. In fact, I myself resist doing it most times. If the site requires me to register or log-in to see pictures, unless I am truly interested, I often will just pass. Most of my family and friends are on Facebook. Why do I want yet another photo service when I can view albums and comment on my whole social network right on FB? If I want to print something, I just request it on FB, and my friend or relative sends me the file. Simple, unless they are using PSE 7.
I've used the process for e-mailing attached pictures that you describe, and it works well, but one of the points of buying a World Class amateur photo processing application (PSE 7), was to make life EASIER for my wife, not to have to make her jump through hoops that are done automatically by the dumbest, most basic photo apps out there. I mean come ON, this is ADOBE, and emailing attachments from within a program using the default email app (in this case one of the most popular in the world) ...well, let's just say it is SILLY that it is missing.
Thanks again for your response. My fantasy is that some or all of these issues are solved in PSE 8, and that becuase I just bought PSE 7, I will get a good discount on 8, and it will be more like Apple's Aperture in speed and overall system compatibility/performance when it comes out. It is a program with a great feature set, and solving the speed and workflow issues will really send it to the top of the pile.
    Best,
    Mark

  • Email/share links in Safari open Chrome browser

I recently switched to Safari as my default browser after many years using Chrome, which has become buggy and unreliable. My problem in Safari is that clicking on an email link, which is supposed to bring up my default email (Gmail), instead opens the Chrome browser. The only option under "Share" for "email this page, is the Chrome icon.
I cannot find anything in settings allowing me to change the default browser for external email links. The only relevant field is Extensions, in where the Chrome icon represents the mail server, but as you see below, along with AirDrop and Messages, the boxes are inactive.
So my question is, how do I prevent Chrome from opening every time I try to email from, or "share" a page?

From the Mail menu bar, select
Mail ▹ Preferences... ▹ General ▹ Default email reader: Mail
If you don't use Mail, haven't set it up, and don't want to, then you'll have to enter fake data in the the  Add Accountdialogs and hold down the option key when you click Continue. Alternatively, you may be able to set the preference in the mail client you do use.

  • How do I create a slideshow in PSE 8.0 and share it on my website using Premiere elements 7.0.  I

I have created a slideshow in PSE 8.0 but how do I get it into Premiere Elements 7 to create a video I want to show in my website?  Do I have to buy Premiere Elements 8.0 surely ther must be a way to pass files?

Adobe is making it difficult for people who have Photoshop Elements 8 and Premiere Elements 7.
If you also have Photoshop Elements 7, I suggest that in the future you consider making your slideshows in Photoshop Elements 7 because it of course does support transfer to Premiere Elements 7. Or you can make the entire slideshow in Premiere Elements 7.
The only option that I can identify for making a file of your PSE 8 slideshow is to do a WMV file from the PSE 8 slideshow output command.
This approach has the disadvantage of doing a compression in PSE to make the WMV file and then doing another compression in Premiere Elements 7 for whatever format you will use to upload to your website.

  • Keynote - files too big to email/share, looking for PDF resolution solution

Has anyone worked out how to change a keynote presentation PDF resolution when preparing for sharing? The file I get is too big to email (6 photos gave me 55mb) as it appears to retain the input resolution of the embedded photos?

If using Acrobat 9 Go To Document>Reduce File size.
If Using Acrobat X or XI to tot he tools sidebar and use Optimize for Web Distribution.
If you do not want to fool witht he pdf in any way then download Adobe Send Now app and use their free service or subscribe for a year for a whopping $29.95.
The free version allows you to upload files upt to 500MB there may be limitis to how many files you can upload it sends an e-mail to the parties you want to download the files and they simply follow the link and it downloads.
The paid version allows you to upload files as large as 2 GB and gives you 20GB of storage. I immediately myself purchased the paid version.
If you hppen to upgrade to the cloud then you get the paid version free.

  • IPhoto: unable to send with built-in email share option

i've only been able to send and share photos from iphoto using the external Mail app. (going into iphotos general prefences and changing it to Mail.) However, at times i want to use some of the snazy built in stationary options iphoto has to send pix to friends and family.
when "share photos using iPhoto" is selected, iPhoto always gives me an offline error message. i've tweeked the settings and made sure everything matches that of the Mail app, but it still doesnt work.
    anyone have similar issues? resolutions?
    OS 10.8
    iPhoto 11 v. 9.3.2

Mail has more (and many think better) stationary templates than iPhoto. In iPhoto go to the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts and delete the account and re-enter it and try again

  • How do you share thousands of pictures with text and captions outside of PSE?  (PSE 4)

One of my dad’s retirement passions is family genealogy and old family pictures.  Several years ago I gave my family PSE 4.0 for Christmas so that we could each have backup copies of our dad’s pictures.  Usually once per year, I made backup copies of everything and emailed the DVDs to my brothers and sisters.  Everyone knows the basic PSE 4 functions and share our dad's enjoyment with the old family photos.
My problem is that my dad is running out of pictures to scan.  He wants to “share” or “show” his photos with others so that he can “borrow” their photo albums in order to scan their photos.  He plans to attend a hometown high school reunion later this fall.  He hopes to "collect" photo albums from cousins and classmates.  I have been struggling with this for several days without any good ideas.
The scanned pictures lack any text (added as a layer?) or captions.  Creating a slideshow (on my dad’s computer is slow).  Also, a slideshow doesn’t let others select individual pictures to save from the slide show
He has old pictures pre-PSE 4 that allowed him to add captions directly to the picture when it was scanned.  I never liked this approach as it "destroyed" the actual picture but these old pictures are more easily shared as individual pictures.
How do you share thousands of pictures with text and captions outside of PSE?  Can you save or export a composite picture with all the layers?
Thanks in advance for your help and replies.

I think it is one of the printer option screens that gives me the choice of tabbed 4x6. All of the choices specifiy HP or Other so I am pretty sure it is printer software that offers me this choice.
Make sure your image has a 4x6 aspect ratio. I have been quite happy with the tabbed 4x6. Just need to remember to load the paper with the tab last.
So, in elements you set to 4x6, in printer options you should be able to choose 4x6 tabbed paper.

  • PSE11 Outlook Option is missing from Client Email Menu

I have recently installed Photoshop Elements 11 on a new Windows 7 64 bit PC.
When I try and send an attachment by email (Share - File Attachment) then my Outlook 2010 client is missing from the list of Email Client options. I only see the Adobe service and Windows Live Mail.
Is there a way of getting Elements 11 to recognise that I have Outlook 2010 installed ?
    Thanks, Dave

    Hi Dave,
Yes, it would be useful if Adobe included this sort of thing in the release notes or even a FAQ.
I think that the main problem lies in the 32bit PSE trying to talk to a 64bit application.
I did notice that when I got my Office 2010, even Microsoft recommend to use the 32bit version.
Good Luck - please let us know the results.

  • How do I select and email a whole lot of photos on my iPad from my iPad emails? It seems I have to go into Email and then insert one photo at a time? Isn't there a way to select all in the photos and then email the batch.?

How do I select and email a whole lot of photos on my iPad from my iPad emails? It seems I have to go into Email and then insert one photo at a time? Isn't there a way to select all in the photos and then email the batch.?

Actually, you can email up to 5 at a time from the Photos app. Select any more and the email share option will not appear.
If you explain why you need to email large numbers of photos, we might be able to offer an alternative.
