PSE 6 Mac photomerge error message?

I am using Photoshop Elements 6 on a Mac. I am trying to use the photomerge group shot feature, following the tutorial video step-by-step. I open my pictures, select New >> Photomerge Group Shot and click "Open All" on the "please select 2-10 photos..." pop-up box. The little clock appears for a bit and then I get the error message "Could not complete the command because the source rectangle is empty."
Adobe support is useless. I think they said it's because my photos are incompatible and I should download them again. (But their English is so poor and there's so many typos in there, I can't be sure that's really what they meant.) I'm using .jpgs. How can jpgs be incompatible?!? Good thing they're copies. Deleted the ones I was working with and got new copies of the originals. Still get the error message.
Tried re-installing PSE, that didn't fix it either.
Dragging the photos to the source and final rectangles doesn't work either.
I think I may have successfully used the photomerge in the past but I can't remember for sure.
Anyone else encounter this problem? Any suggestions of other things to try to solve it? I'm just about ready to throw PSE in the garbage. I pretty much can't ever get it to work right.

I am listing down the precise steps I followed for Photomerge groupshot on my system-
Open images.
Holding the Command key click on all the image that are to be used in Photomerge (select them from Project Bin)
File>New>Photomerge Groupshot.
I am taken to the Photomerge UI with my first image already present in the source rectangle.
Please follow these steps and let me know that at which step are you getting stuck.

  • PSE 8 constant error message

Just got a brand new iMac and finally able to install PSE 8. I am constantly getting this error message: "This is not a valid Portable Document File (PDF) document. It cannot be opened."
I get it when I first launch PSE and haven't even opened anything yet, and when I do open a file, I get this message constantly all the while I am editing away at it. It doesn't prevent me opening the file or using PSE as normal, but this message is constantly popping up and is very annoying.

    Hello doovy69,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To troubleshoot the error message that the cable or accessory may not be compatible, please follow the steps outlined below.
    If you see an alert
When you plug in your device, you might see one of these alerts:
“This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone.”
“This accessory is not supported by this device.”
If you see one of these alerts, unplug your device try and these steps:
Look at the connector at the bottom of your device and make sure it’s free of debris, then reconnect the USB cable.
If you still see an alert, try a different USB cable or charger.
    Get more help
If your device still doesn't charge or you still see an alert after trying the steps above, contact Apple Support.

  • PSE 10 "help" - error message re Adobe Air

I am unable to access the PSE help within PSE 10.  Each time I get an error message indicating that the problem relates to Adobe Air and that I should re-install it (Adobe Air).  I have tried re-installing both Adobe Air and PSE10 but the problem persists - any suggestions
    Thanks Dave
PS OS Windows 7 prof  (64bit)

A clean re-install should have solved it.
    I'd do these steps:
    Close PSE.
Use Task Manager's "Processes" tab to kill any running Adobe or PhotoshopElements processes.
Use the Control Panel to uninstall Adobe AIR.
    Reboot.
Get the latest version of AIR from here:
    http://get.adobe.com/air/
    Install AIR.

  • Can't Open Fireworks CS4 in Mac. Error Message

    Hello,
I have had CS4 for 2 years almost and recently Fireworks won't open. When I click on the icon, I get this error message (below). I have updated by my Mac OS and Adobe updates with no success. I thought about uninstalling and reinstalling Fireworks, but it says I would need to deactivate my serial number from within Fireworks. Since I can't open Fireworks, I can't deactivate it - so presumably I wouldn't be able to reinstall it.
All my other Adobe products are working fine - it's just this one.
    I operate Mac 10.6.7
Any suggestions? I'm not a graphic designer, so if you're able to assist, pretend you're explaining to an 8 year-old! :-)
    Thank you kindly.

  • After downloading PSE 13, receive error message cannot open windows temporary internet files

After downloading Photoshop elements 13, I receive an error message as it tries to open (but instead opens my PSE 9 application) and this message appears:  "cannot open C:Users\Spears\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.1E5\AV8ZNMD1\Photoshop Elements_13_LS25_win64.7z"
I have been trying various fixes to download this for 2 days now.  Can someone please help me?
    Thanks!

Did you check if the Firefox file is in that location?
If it isn't there then do a clean (re)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
If the file is there then do a malware check with some malware scan programs.<br />
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br />
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.<br />

  • Office for mac - Word error message "insufficient memory"??

I'm not sure if I'm in the right help section, so apologies of not and point me in the right direction?
My problem: I copied about 2 pages of text in a Microsoft Word (for mac) document, opened a blank document, and attempted to paste the text there. The text transferred, but when I attempted to save the document Microsoft closed, without saving, and offered to send an error report.
Alternately, I copied the text, closed Word, re-opened it to a blank document, and again attempted pasting the text. This time, an error message pops up that says "Insufficient memory. Save document now." after which it will let me save the document, but won't let me paste anything. So confused.
    Thanks for any help!
(I also emptied my trash, just to free up some space and see if that helped, but even though its been ages since I've done it it didn't seem to make a difference.)

How exactly do you specifically update Office? I ran software update, but nothing for Office came up.
Choose "Check for updates" in the an Office program's Help menu.
Just to check if it worked, I opened the original document and selected Save As, and it allowed me to save it under a different name and re-open the doc, and then edit and save it - so I can go ahead with my work, but it would still be good to resolve the issue.
Hopefully just updating will take care of it. Just remember than an "insufficient memory" error never means insufficient memory. It means the program is buggy. While very powerful, Office is somewhat on the buggy side. It is updated pretty frequently however.
If you continue to have problems, there may be some specific issue that is causing your problem and can be fixed. The best place to investigate that would probably be Microsoft's own support forums.

  • Restart/ "mac-boot" error message

    HI!
I was working in photoshop and my screen grayed out. An error message came up saying to retart computer. I restarted and a coded screen came up saying to type in "mac-boot" or "shutdown" so I typed mac-boot. Then the apple screen came up with the timer/clock. The fan started up very loudly and the apple screen continues without a bootup. Please help. Any information would be helpful.
    Thanks!

You also want to look at WHY you got to a kernel panic. There are some FAQs on the subject.
Make sure you have a UPS.
    Run Apple Hardware Test.
Along with SMU/PMU reset, you might want to just try resetting nvram.
Test your memory. It may be developing errors. You were using your system heavily.
Somehow, the system went into Open Firmware screen, which would suggest a corrupt nvram, and I would be careful that the directory was not updated due to a freeze, and you need to seriously do some repairs and maintenance, and see if any files are corrupt - whatever you were working with definitely.

  • Elements 8 (MAC) sends error message when I quit

Every time I purposely quit the Elements 8 application, I get an error message that it has "unexpectedly quit." It does not affect the performance of Elements 8. But it is a nuisance. Suggestions? I am running MAC 10.6.4
    Thanks

    Howard:
I looked up your case, and it appears that you repaired disk permissions to resolve the issue. You would do this using the Disk Utility in /Applications/Utilities.
The notes in the case were unclear, but you may have moved to a new Mac OS user account prior to repairing permissions. That is, you created and logged into a new user account, and Elements still gave unexpected quit error on quit, but then after repairing disk permissions, Elements closed without issue in the new account.
So, for any others that may be facing this issue, first try repairing disk permissions (as Barbara mentioned above).
If that fails to resolve the issue, clear the preferences (also as Barbara mentioned).
The next step would be to create a new Mac OS user account, log out of the current account, log into the new account, and then see if you can close Elements 8 without issue.
If it still fails, then repair disk permissions in the new user account, and then it should be working.
If anyone still faces the problem after doing the above, I recommend contacting Adobe Support so they can help find a resolution for you. (It would be good to have you also post in here to let us know that the above solutions didn't fix it for you.)

  • Installed Firefox 4 on my Mac; getting error messages upon start up and when opening photos (i.e. ebay)

I updated to Firefox 4 and now continuously receive error messages. One example is when I'm in Ebay and click on a photo to enlarge I get the following error message.
    (JavaScript Application)
can't create mcafee plug-in object: TypeError:
    Components.classes(cid) is undefined
Another example is upon start up of Firefox I receive an error message but I can't make it out since its half hidden on my desktop but I have to click "ok" in order to open up Firefox.
I'm barely learning how to use this Mac (a task in its self), but now I have these error messages? Can I just go back to my older version of Firefox to make these error messages go away?
    Thanks, JR.

Thank you very, very much. This was my very first time trying to solve a technical issue on my Mac... your advice worked great. I disabled all the add-on apps and it solved my issue. Don't know if I should have disabled all but it seemed to work... Thanks again for the advice.

  • Mac Mail Error Message: 4.0.0 You have exceeded 400 recipients

Once in awhile, I cannot send emails. The error message I receive is the following:
4.0.0 You have exceeded 400 recipients in the last 24 hours. Please try later. I called Verizon, my internet provider and they couldn't help me. I called Apple and they said there was nothing they could do to help me--that I needed to get help on-line.
It appears that I am getting this because I have been marked as a spammer for some reason. I do not send emails out to more than 6-10 people at a time--and am not spamming. The results are that I cannot send emails for about a day at a time, however I still receive emails. Has anyone else had this experience?

It appears that I am getting this because I have been marked as a spammer for some reason.
    Welcome to the discussions, cad747.
No, it is a standard message sent to anyone that has sent over the limit, so if you genuinely haven't sent that many (which could be one message to 400 people, 400 messages each to a single person, or any combination you choose, in any 24-hour period) then you have to consider the possibility that someone else is using your .mac mail.
I don't use .mac, so cant help specifically. Try browsing the .mac forums (Apple - Support - Discussions - .Mac) and see if it is possible to obtain a log or if anyone is posting similar problems - or post there yourself.
