PSE 7 Collage

Halli hallo
Vielen lieben Dank!!

Well, I was going to say there is no way to make PSE 13 look like PSE 7, but luckily you can do what you want. Go to the editor's preferences>general and turn on Allow Floating Documents, then window menu>images>float all in windows.

  • How to create a horizontal collage in PSE 9

How do I create a horizontal collage in PSE 9?  It will only let me do a vertical layout.

Select one of the vertical templates and then use the Editor main menu:
    File >> Save As
Then choose PSD and save to your desktop.
Close the collage project and then use:
File >> Open and navigate to your saved PSD file
    Then use the menu:
Image >> Rotate (90 degrees left or right)
    Click window >> Layers
In the layers pallet highlight each layer with an image/place holder and select the move tool to position/rotate/scale each one individually.

  • PSE 6.0 will not display photo collage theme or layout

I just purchased PSE 6.0 for imac on Tues.  I would like to use the photo collage option, but zero options work.  I installed it/uninstalled it and it still did not fix it.  It is in the process of downloading ADOBE BRIDGE CS3 WITH START MEETING 1.0.1.  I have waiting a day and a half for it to update, it will not finish the update.
I have also called apple icare for support and they troubleshot everything and have determined that it is a software problem.
Please help.  I have photos to finish.

Could what be? Sorry, I don't understand what you're asking.
First thing to try: quit PSE, then go to your hard drive>library>application support>Adobe>Photoshop Elements>6.0>Locale>en_US (that will be different if you aren't in the US) and delete mediaDatabase.db3. In the Photoshop Elements>6.0 folder level, also delete ThumbDatabase.db3. Note that these files are in the library folder at the top level of your hard drive, NOT in system>library or your username>library.
Repair permissions and relaunch PSE. Let it sit for a few minutes without using the program to give the database time to rebuild. You can try once you see the icons appear in the Effects palette.

  • Opening Collage Project Crashes PSE

    Background:
    OS X
    PSE 9
When I click on Create>Collage I get a dialog to chose a size.
Alongside the size column is a theme column but after selecting a size there is nothing in the theme column.
Clicking Ok causes PSE to crash.
I get the same response trying to create a calendar.
Nothing in the theme column, a couple of images in the preview column. Select one of them, click ok and the app crashes.
Any suggestions as to what might be the cause of the problem?
    Thanks.

After selecting your size and clicking OK the next dialog should offer this choice.
Unfortunately PSE crashes before it gets to this window.
It appears that this is a permissions issue.
The problem occurs in a user account.
If I run the app in an admin account it works.
Now I'm working on fixing the permissions.

  • Can I create a custom collage in PSE ?

I'm attempting to create a custom family collage In PSE 8.  The collage would ideally incorporate old photos portraits cropped into elipse  frames and arranged randomly ( included tilted elipses).  Is this achieveable in PSE?

Absolutely. There are some presets you can start with in the Create projects and then customize, or you can start from scratch and do whatever you want.

  • Collage, changing from pse format to psd

I can create collages, but don't know how to save them as psd or jpg files so that I can use the collages in my scrapbook software.  How can I get them from the editor to iphoto or picassa or a picture file?

  • Photo collage PSE 9

Hi I hope someone can help please. How can you change the background from portrait to landscape in "Create Photo Collage". There seems to be landscape & portrait layouts but only portrait ones seem to work. You are not even asked whether portrait or lanscape when you first start. Is there a way that I have missed?

Thanks for the info, Barbara B. As you said, I should be able to go to the layouts tab and choose an alternate layout. But on the layouts tab I was seeing only 2 alternate collage layouts shown: 1 option under Different Layouts (”4 Photos”) & 1 option under Two Photos (”2 Tilted”) instead of all the options shown in the tutorial videos.
But what I have found with further experimentation is that the number and formats for the alternate layout options shown is dynamic depending on 1) the number of images selected and 2) the Paper Size selected.  So when I selected 8 photos and 12x12 (as Bob G. did in his tuturial) I get the same list of alternate options on the Layout tab.
Certainly see your point about not really needing this Create collage option in PSE12. But at least the mystery is solved!  Thanks again for your help!

  • Why are my photos blurry when I upload them into a collage (PSE)?

This never happened with my old camera.....this is the first time I tried it using pics I had taken on my new Nikon.
Any ideas how to upload clear pics?
    Kim
(not sure how this forum will notify me of any answers-so could those who answer-please e-mail me at:  [email protected]  Thanks.)

The screenshot would have made a comparison possible if it showed the image both in the browser and in Photoshop.
    Again:
What Color Space are the images in?
Do you embedd the ICC Profile when saving?

  • Why is my photo collage not saving correctly?

I have only just got PSE 9, and am enjoying all the things you can do with it, so I thought I would try to make a photo collage for my family. I watched the video and it seemed straightforward enough, and I have made the collage. However, when I go to save it, although it appeas in the organiser, you cannot see a preview of the picture. All you see is a what I can only describe as a torn picture frame with one corner turned up. I can double click on the image in finder n my mac, and it will open the collage perfectly. I can also save it as a jpeg, and view it in preview. I want to order the print, so that I can get it a bigger size, but when I select it, it does not recognise the file type, either as a photoshop file or as jpeg. I also tried finding it using a jessops application that i downloaded some time ago, but the filename is greyed out. I have to admit, I'm at a bit of a loss!

The collage maker has a few bugs. I can’t even use mine as I get an error message as soon as I select any size image. Also there is a very restricted choice of templates. I’m on Windows so you experience is possibly different.
You can do it manually in Full Photo Edit
    Click File >>New >>Blank File

  • Help with Collages in Elements 10

I am trying to make a photo collage in Elements 10, but no matter what horizontal layout that I pick, the layout always comes up vertical!  I need to work in the horizontal layout.  Can anyone help me??

Don't use Create. Just make a new blank file in the editor the size and orientation that you want, then bring up the Content panel (window>content) and add what you want from there. In PSE 10 there is absolutely nothing you can do in a Create collage that you can't do in the editor, too, and usually much more easily.

  • How can I turn a pse file into a jpeg

Today I created a pse file by the photo collage device. This is the only p file I have, and I would like to know if it is possible to convert this into a jpeg, and if so how? Thank you,

Thank you for that.  As I have
so many pictures in Orgainizer, I try to convert every file into a jpeg, as there is less
memory, it is quicker, and I can use them for emails creations etc.

  • How do I impose a portion of one picture in to another picture in PSE 12

I am new to the Adobe Photoshop world. I recently purchased PSE 12 and have not been able to find any tutorials on it. I am working on a class assignment but cannot figure out how to impose a portion of one picture in to another picture. Please, has anyone been using PSE 12 long enough or know enough about it to have figured this out that you might be able to give me step-by-step instructions?
I am also trying to create a collage in JPeg and can not figure this out either. I have tried using the templates provided but I don't necessarily want or need all the frames provided, etc. Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you!!!

OK let's deal with the first problem.
    1) Open both pictures in Editor and switch over to Experts tab;
    2) Select the portion from first picture that you want to "impose" on to the other picture.  To do this you need to select the appropriate tool from this section:
    3) Copy the selected portion by doing CTRL+C or Edit >> Copy
    4) Now switch to your other picture and click at the point where you want to put the selected portion
    5) Press CTRL + V or Edit >> Paste
This should do something for you but in PSE there are many ways to skin a cat than what I have described here.
    Hope this gets you started.

  • How to use layouts in PSE 13?

HI! I used to have PSE 8 and I love to create collages. There I could resize the size and rotate the canvas and select different frames but sadly PSE 13 has one choice for collages and it doesn't let me resize the canvas on my desire size (8x10 size). when I have the collage open on the bottom right hand side says "layouts" and when I choose one it doesn't let me resize it or rotate. i am very sad about this. Can you help me find a way that will give me more choices in regards of collages? Thanks!

PSE 13 is different from PSE 8 in that there is not a thing you can do to a collage in Create that you can't do better and more easily in the regular editor. Just create a blank file the size and resolution you want, get out the graphics panel, and have at it.

  • Out of memory issues with PSE 8

I am using PSE 8 64 bit on a Dell desktop computer with Intel (R) Core (TM) i7 CPU 920 at 2.67 GHz. with 8 GB of ram. My operating system is Windows 7, 64 bit.
My problem is that I get out of memory or insufficient ram messages in PSE Editor with some PSE tools when my CPU resource utilization reaches 37 to 38%. In other words, even though my computer is telling me I have almost 4 GB of memory left, PSE is saying it does not have enough memory to complete the operation. It looks to me as if PSE is only using 4GB of my 8 GB of Ram. Is this true and what do I need to do to allow PSE to utilize all of my available ram.

Thanks, that does answer what the problem is, but not necessarily a solution. I like working with 8 to 10 pictures (files) in the editor tray at a time. I make whatever changes needed to each and then group 4 or 5 into an 8.5 X 11 collage. Each picture in the collage is a separate layer and each separate picture may multiple layers of its own. I print the collage on 8.5 x 11 photo paper and then put the page in a photo album. I like the pictures in different sizes, orientations and sometimes shapes, so the album and multiple picture options offered in PSE are not much help. My process eats a lot of memory, which I mistakenly thought, my 8 gb of ram would solve.
Anyway, now that I know the limitations, I can adjust the process to avoid the memory issue and hopefully, a future version of Elements will accommodate 64 bit.
Maybe, I am wondering, do I need to look at other programs or am I missing a PSE function that would make my chore easier.

Where is the photo that you are clicking on? Are you working in Editor or Organizer? Which version of PSE?
