PSE 7 editors shuts down

Intermittently, while starting the editor program I get the following message "Adobe Photoshop Elements (Editor) has stopped working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
This is a 3 month old Vista HP PC with 5Mb ram. Anyone else having an issue like this? Anyone have any ideas on what to do? I have deleted preferences but that didn't cure the problem.

Has it ever worked, or is this problem from the initial installation?
Did you disable your anti-virus and firewall during installation?
Does the Organizer work?
Does the Editor work if started from the Organizer?
What version of Windows?

Photo Elements 12 editor shuts down when I select enhance>Photomerge>Panorama. I am using Mac Book Pro with Yosemite operating system. Otherwise, the program preforms properly. Any suggestions?

When you see a beachball cursor or the slowness is especially bad, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
          SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
          View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Scroll back to the time you noted above.
Select the messages entered from then until the end of the episode, or until they start to repeat, whichever comes first.
Copy the messages to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of it useless for solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

Photoshop Elements 12 Editor Shuts Down Without Saving for Web

I have a mac version of Photoshop Elements 12 Editor. I have been using the products for a few months with no problems until recently when I try to save for web (after the preview is shown), the program will shut down by itself when I click the "Save" button.
Mac version OS X 10.9.5

Oh, and while you're in there delete:

Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 settings
There's a saved application states folder at the same level as the Preferences folder. Delete anything in there for PSE.

PSE 12 Automatically shutting down after "sign in"

Hi, I just bought PSE 12 and installed the disk, everything seemed fine with the install. When I open PSE 12 it says "Sign In Reqired" then I press sign in, and put in my Adobe ID, and it says "please wait for a moment" and then the entire program shuts down on it's own.
I tried to look up several advice questions on this community, so here is what I've tried so far:
1. Restarting computer.
2. Uninstalling/Reinstalling
3. Downloading the Free Trial
4. Updating Quicktime
5. Going into Owner > App Data > Roaming > PSE > 12.0 (and then deleating the contents)
6. Creating a new Adobe ID
I am running Windows 7.1, no prior Photoshop program was installed. Also, the trial version of PS premere elements 12 that came on the disk seems to work fine?
Any suggestions would be awesome

That means that for some reason PSE isn't liking your Adobe ID. It would probably be quickest to contact activation support:

In case you didn't know, in PSE 12 sign in = activate.

Elements 9 Editor Shutting Down

Hi,
I downloaded the trial version of PSE9 the other day, and am finding that the program crashes when I use various tools, such as the healing brush. Can anyone shed light on this issue? The error message says that Photoshop Elements Editor.exe has encountered a problem and must shut down. Thanks!

I think Adobe has released a patch for this issue which can be downloaded and installed by clicking on Help->Updates.

N97 mini text message editor shuts down by itself!

Whenever I try to write something in capital letters, the predictive text shuts down the whole messaging app! I just found this today trying to respond to my friend before I figured out what is wrong.
To answer his question where I am, I tried to write
"I'm in DC right now"
However, I only got to "I'm in D", as when I pressed C (I was using qwerty keyboard), the whole thing closed. It happened several times, and I could only respond once I turned predictive text off. Now, every time I try to just type in "DC" in the message with predictive text on, the whole thing shuts down!
Since this is a NAM phone, it's still running old firmware (wonder why updates are only available to phones in some parts of the world and not other?). Did anyone else experience that? Does new firmware fix it? Or am I again the only unlucky one with the weirdest bug

I have version 12.2.110.232.01 on N97 mini and text editors (for SMS and email) delete the message and shut down the application whenever predictive text is enables and I type two consecutive capital letters....
Where you able to find a fix for this other than deactivating predictive text option?

Elements 7 Editor shutting down

When I'm in the editor and trying to use one of the tools like quick fix, the edit shuts down and reverts back to the organizer screen as soon as I click on that tool. It does not happen all the time but quite often, Can someone tell me how to fix this issue?

Restart the editor while holding down ctrl+alt+shift. Keep the keys down till you see a window asking if you want to delete the settings file. You do.

PSE 7 always shutting down while cloning, etc.

I'm running AMD Athlon 64 2.2ghz, 3.5g memory. When I "push" Elements by cloning or working large areas of a photo I get a message that says "PSE 7 has to close". Any ideas?

PSE7 editor shutting down

I haven't had this problem before. Have been using the fully licensed editor for months on the same computer on a daily basis. Have tried for the last twenty minutes to start the editor. I get a message that says something has caused the editor to stop working and the program will be closed. I've restarted the computer, I want to try and avoid uninstalling and reinstalling pse due to the styles and brushes then needing to be redone. I've checked other thre4ads and have done the suggestions there... Any other suggestions?? TIA

Photoshop E 10 shuts down when I start a pano?

I have PSE 10 on Window 7 Pro and now when I open in Organizer and pick a photo that I want to edit in full editor, full editor will open but not pick the photo I want to edit.
Different situation: I am in full editor and pick four photos I want to merge in a panorama and the full editor shuts down. What is going on?

Operating System version, such as Win7 64bit Pro... or whatevevr
-including your security settings, such as are YOU the Administrator
-and have you tried to RIGHT click the program Icon and then select
-the Run as Administrator option (for Windows, not sure about Mac)
Your Firewall settings and brand of anti-virus are you running
Brand/Model graphics card, sush as ATI "xxxx" or nVidia "xxxx"
-or the brand/model graphics chip if on the motherboard
-and the exact driver version for the above graphics card/chip
-and how much video memory you have on your graphics card
Brand/Model sound card, or sound "chip" name on Motherboard
-and the exact driver version for the above sound card/chip
Size(s) and configuration of your hard drive(s)... example below
-and how much FREE space is available on each drive (in Windows
-you RIGHT click the drive letter while using Windows Explorer
-and then select the Properties option to see used/free space)

Pse trial v12 installed but when opening the editor it shuts down after 2 seconds, what can be the problem? I have windows 8.1 64 bit with the latest video drivers installed. Thanks

PSE trial 12 installed just fine but when i start the editor it opens and shuts down after about 2 seconds without an error, the only thing that appears is a message with 'continue trial'.
I have windows 8.1 64 bit and i already installed the latest video drivers, intel hd 4000 and nvidia geforce 710M.
I also installed premiere elements version 12 with the same problem.
What can be the problem here, please help?

Yes, its a shame. I have also contacted lenovo support hoping that they can sort out this problem. However, first response from them was 'contact your internet service provider since internet connectivity goes down'! :-/ I am hoping I have been able to get through to them now at least about where the problem lies. I wonder if anyone has tried using the laptop with the same broadcom wireless adapter with some other version of OS (linux, windows 7 etc.) and whether they still face the same problem. I haven't tried that yet. If this is just an OS / driver issue I hope someone somewhere is working on a fix! If not, I guess the only other solution would be to get an external USB wifi adapter but that is not something one would want to do when you buy a brand new Lenovo laptop. This was a big let down for me.

Windows message on PSE 7 says the prgm is shutting down. I have XP sp 3.

When I open PSE 7 and go to Organizer I get a Windows message saying an error reguires the program to shut down. I have XP sp 3. Elements was working ok until about a week ago. I have been adding scanned images and some are indicated as too large and won't display. They are jpegs. I can continue to work in Organizer and ignore the message. I have tried debugging and sending messages to Microsoft. How can I resolve the message conflict with Windows?

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Organizer Shuts Down in PSE 7

I've been using PSE7 for a couple of months with no problems. The other day my computer shut down while I was in the organizer and ever since, I get an error message saying it has to close down. After reading some suggestions, I've learned that if I repair the catalog, I can get into organizer and even do some more work (add photos, create new albums and tags, etc.), but inevitably it will close down again. I did an uninstall and then reinstalled, but the problem continues. It isn't any one action that seems to cause the shutdown....sometimes it's very quickly after I've opened the organizer and other times it will be fine for up to a half hour or so and then it's shut down, repair again and hope for the best. Any suggestions? It's become really frustrating and I'm regretting the upgrade. Thanks!

I too am having trouble with Organizer in PSE 7. My problem is with outputing a slide show to Premier Elements. About 60mgb into the output Organizer shuts down. I've tried uninstalling my DVD drives, uninstalling PSE 7, changing the registry moving scratch disks around, numerous other things, I even sat and watched taskmanager while the file was trying to be output to be sure I didn't have a memory problem in Vista! Still can't output a slide show at all for any use. I did try opening a slide show in PSE 6 and that worked fine. I just didn't want to have to go through the process of recreating a slide show from scratch and since the files are databased files I can't figure out a way to get the show from PSE 7 to PSE 6 without saving it with an output file. Does anyone have any ideas for me regarding any solution short of putting in the hours to recreate the Slide Show????
I don't find WinDVD. Where would I find the .dat file????
