PSE 7 has stopped working

I've never had any issue w/ pse, but tonight nothing works.  I started w/ a text box - tried to change font, but the list of fonts opens, flashes, disappears, so I'm left w/ an empty box.  I literally can't get the program to respond to anything.  I've never really used anything but 'edit' to create a single page w/ graphics saved from computer.  I have no other computer issues, WinXP, Avast antivirus & frequently clean w/ CCleaner.

Two things to try:
Reboot the computer.
Re-set the PSE Preferences -- Hold down the Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys while launching PSE and answer "Yes" to the prompt to delete the Preferences.  They will be re-built.

  • Licensing for PSE has stopped working

Hallo dear Adobe Team, before I bought "Photoshopelement" and at the moment I cannot open it anymore. The Error shows"150:30". Can you please tell me what I can do? Besides, I cannot find the disk for this software anymore...
    Thank you in advance!

Here are links where you can find the PSE downloads Adobe provides:
    PSE 12 Trial - http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_elements
    PSE 10, 11 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-10-11-downloads.html
    PSE 7, 8, 9 - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/photoshop-elements-7-8-9-downloads.html
You also need your serial number to activate the installation.  If you lost the disc and did not keep a record of it then your only other hope of finding it will be to check your Adobe account online.
Yo can try getting Adobe support to help with the serial number, but if you have no proof of ownership they will likely not be able to do anything to help you.

  • When I try to open PSE8, I get a notice that PSE 8 has stopped working.

I use Windows 7 as an operating system, and PSE 8 has worked fine up to now. When I try to open PSE8, I get a notice that the storage in photoshop.com is full, and I have to gewt more storage. I went in to photoshop.com and cleared all stored photos, but get the same notice. A few seconds after that notice pops up, I get a notice that PSE has stopped working and Windows has to close it. I can't get in to PSE 8. My husband has a separate user account on our computer and can log in to PSE8 without problem, and without the same notice.
Also, when either of us try to send photos using Photo Mail, neither of us can enter addresses in the address book used with PSE 8. We both use Windows Live Mail for e-mail. We also have PSE 7 and that works fine. Any idea what's going on?

I experience the problem when launching and trying to log into PSE 8.0. Last
year we expanded the storage available under photoshop.com. We discovered we
did not use it, and did not renew the subscription for the expanded storage.
Photoshop.com should have reverted back to 2.0 Gig of storage at no
additional cost. When I log in to PSE 8.0, I get a pop up screen that
informs me that I have 3.2 Gig of storage which exceeds the free 2.0 Gig of
storage available through photoshop.com, and can purchase additional
storage. I have gone into photoshop.com and deleted all photos in storage,
but, because the account is deemed to be suspended because I did not renew,
I can not cancel photoshop.com without first paying the additional $20 to
reinstate the account. I have never before been faced with an additional
cost to cancel a service. Because the photoshop.com pop up screen is the
first thing to appear when I log in to PSE 8.0. The PSE 8.0 welcome screen
is greyed out and I can not get into PSE 8.0. I was told be the tech support
people at photoshop.com that I can only solve the problem by changing my
Adobe ID but, of course, I can't get in to PSE 8.0 to make the changes, and
tech support at photoshop.com can't make the changes.

When I try to launch my copy of PSE it tells me that licensing for this product has stopped working. Error code 150:30. Restarting does nothing. Any ideas?
    Thanks!

You haven't said what version of PSE you are using but the general solution to this problem is to re-install the product from your original disks.  Have you got the disks for your product and the related serial number?

    hi,
I have installed pse on my computer and up until now it's been running fine. Now when I go to open it it states that the 'Licensing For This Product Has Stopped Working'.
I've tried restarting as suggested in the Error 150:30, still the problem remains. It suggested that I contact support.

  • PSE 13 solves "Error: Licensing has stopped working" on MAC OS X 10.10.2?

After some years using my reliable PS8 I've got this nasty message and I am unable to work since then.
I've been working on solving the "Error: Licensing has stopped working" on MAC OS X 10.10.2 for a while without success.
Does PSE 13 solves the problem? I just want to be sure that if I buy the new version it is going to work or if I am going to lose another US$ 99 on a piece of software that requires more "MAC OS X" expertise than I have.
Any help, clue or piece of advice is welcome.

Thank you, but it is exactly the paper I've been trying to follow.... I can't go through solution 2 because I got an error when using “sudo python “.
After trying for some days I am thinking about buying the newest version (PSE 13), I just want to be sure I am not going to have the same error.... ;-)

  • AAM has stopped working (Win 7 (64bit) preventing installation of PSE 13 trial

I have been trying to install the trial version of PSE13 without success. The download appears ok and I can get up to "Sign In Required". If I proceed, Window 7 (64bit) indicates that AAM has stopped working and will close the program. No error messages. I have downloaded both AAM 8.0 and PSE13 twice to no avail. I had an old download for the PSE 12 trial which goes through to install ok.

    My scenario and history:
Windows Vista Ultimate and now Windows 7 Ultimate
NVidia Quadro Fx 4500 driving 4 monitors total SLi on or off - makes no difference.  Drivers irrelevant.
    2 x Xeon 5160 (so total 4 cores)
    24Gb RAM
    PS CS 4 or 5
4 monitors - - yep it is the 4 monitor thing.
    Fails everytime as you describe.
Observation - If you Remote Desktop Connection onto the computer - and so in effect are using only ONE monitor - PS works fine.
A WORKAROUND for 4 or 5 - I don't consider this a fix because you lose some functionality but it gets you 99% there and is the same workaround for CS4 or 5
    Go to<drive>:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64bit)\Plug-ins\Extensions\    (or CS4 - depending on version)
    Locate File:
    ScriptingSupport.8li
Disable this extension by renaming the file with a tilde in front of the file name.  Thus:
    ~ScriptingSupport.8li
Start Photoshop - it works and is mainly functional.
The only real downside I have discovered is that disabling this scripting extension means you cannot use some of the built in scripts under FILE - SCRIPTS - the biggest PIA for me being the Contact Sheet builder no longer works.  But as I now use Lightroom to create contact sheets - this is not a big loss.  Other scripting functionality - I am sure is affected - but not to a point I find PS unusable.
ADOBE - if you read this - it has been that extesion now for the last two editions of PS.

  • ERROR MESSAGE "MACROMEDIA PROJECTOR HAS STOPPED WORKING"

I am using Windows Vista, and can no longer play any of my
games. Was able to play before now I get this stupid
error message: "Macromedia Projector has stopped working." I
have tried redownloading the games again, tried redownloading the
Flash and shockwave players, still nothing. HELP!

I suddenly started getting the same error message and was reaching my wits end in trying to find a solution.
This may sound bizarre, and you may not have the same situation as I found, but check your system/Windows date setting.
Somehow, the year on my system had become 2096. I corrected it, and bingo! PSE 8 Editor works again.

  • "Adobe elements has stopped working."

I've received the error "Adobe elements has stopped working" and then the program closes.  It has happened numerous times and now happens more and more often.  Does anyone have any fixes for this?

I've been having the same problem.
Win7 64bit 8GB RAM, 500GB free hard drive space.  All Win updates in place on a regular basis (last time was 2 days ago).
I often get the "stopped working" popup message on my desktop right after I close the program (well, yeah, I would hope it would stop working when I close it) and also increasingly get it on the desktop when I open the program (before the PE12 screen opens).  This latter popup "stopped working" message will persist until I close the popup window, even though the program is working just fine.
The most occurrences of actual crashes seem to be when doing a lot of titles (new or editing existing), when saving, and when exporting.
For awhile it seemed (very subjectively) that rendering the project before saving or exporting possibly helped reduce the number of occurrences, but just now the "stopped working" message popped up and the program quit while I was rendering (got about 80% through).
This time I checked the "check online for a solution" box, but to no avail--there was a brief period while Windows searched online, and then the program shut down anyway.
I've tried rebooting, making sure other programs were closed, etc. but nothing really seems to have much effect.  The same project will save or export just fine on one occasion, then if I so much as change a word in a title it will become unstable.  The entire project is 26 minutes long.  One video track (2) with titles, one main video track (1), one audio track (mostly empty) of ambient sound with the video, one sound track.
I will try Steve's suggestion of Ctrl-Alt-Shift for awhile on opening.  (This helps when PSE tools freeze up.)  Thanks for the tip!

  • Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 has stopped working... how can I make it work?

Hi.  I have just bought a new copy of Photoshop Element 9.  It installed OK, but when I try to open the Editor, I get the message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 has stopped working. Windows is checking for a solution to the problem", followed shortly by the message "Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 has stopped working.  A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available".  The only option then is Close Program.  The Organizer has the same problem.
Does anyone know how to get it to work?  It hasn't just stopped working, it has never worked at all.  If anyone at Adobe are monitoring this thread, please can you tell me what the problem is and how to sort it out?  I tried the Adobe call-back service but all I got was a computer phoning me up, and no person available.

    Hi,
Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

  • PSE 10 stops working

In my PSE 10 I am always getting the message that the program has stopped working. Is there something I can do about this? gkreiser

  • PSE10 has stopped working - except it hasn't

I've got something strange going on. About a week ago, I started having an error message intermittantly when I open an image in PSE 10.
"Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program."
This is pretty much the standard Windows 7 dialogue for any program crash. I'd say it happens 3 out of 4 times, and there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. Also, the message someimes pops up when I first start the program, but not every time.
The reason this is strange is that the program doesn't stop working. It works just fine. Also, if I click "Close the program", it doesn't close. The dialogue disappears and I keep working. I can find nothing wrong with the software whatsoever, except for this dialogue box popping up.
Anybody else experience this? I can't find any answers on the 'net, but the search terms pop up too many results of people who DO have probelms with PSE crashes.

  • HELP! Adobe PS Editor has stopped working

I just installed Adobe PS Elements 7 and I immediately get the following message when trying to edit , organize photos: Adobe PS Editor has stopped working. I have tried a few things I noticed on web but nothing has worked :(

    Heather,
Unfortunately, there are many reasons why the PSE Editor might crash, and often it is hard to diagnose quickly the reason for the crash. I recommend the following troubleshooting steps:
