PSE 7 not opening

im currently using pse 7 and everytime i try to open the edit function i get a message saying pse has stopped working. it always stops when it says "building twain menu items" ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling but nothing changed. All the other functions (organize, create, and share) work fine. can anyone tell me whats wrong?

Is there a way to make PSE 13 NOT open all my photos when I open the program?

Is there a default location when I can change it so that when I open PSE 13 Organizer it does not open all the photos in the Album? I would rather that It just opened the Folders and let me choose which file to open. I have Windows 7 if that makes any difference. thanks...

PSE 8 not opening CR2 after 6.2 camera raw update

I'm Running a MAC OSX 10.6.2 -
History of products.
PSE8 with CR 5.7 worked.
Lightroom 2.7 worked
Updated PSE 8 CR to 6.1 and PSE stopped opening with disk error message.
Lightroom still worked and Bridge was opening files.
Upgraded Lightroom to vs 3.
Upgraded CR 6.2 and lightroom works while PSE and Bridge fails to open raw images with message of
"can not complete your request due to a disk error."
Preview application opens and displays the raw images.
How I installed -
I removed cameraraw plugin from /PSE8 /file format/ folder. Installed the 6.2 Package from the DMG file and copied the plugin to the file format folder.
Restarted PSE - failed to open ,, restarted the machine the same.
What did I do Wrong?

Close Photoshop Elements 8 and Bridge CS5.
Download Camera Raw_6_2.dmg from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4809. Opening the downloaded file mounts the disc image containing the following two files: Camera Raw.plug-in and cameraprofiles.mpkg.
Put the new version of the Camera Raw.8bi file that was downloaded into the same location as the original version.
Navigate to the root of the local disk (not your home folder).
Navigate to the following location: Applications/PSE8/Plug-Ins/File Formats.
Move the original plug-in from the location listed in step 5 to a backup location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure that you keep this version in case you want to revert.
Copy the downloaded copy of the Camera Raw plug-in into the installation location listed under step 6.
Launch Photoshop Elements 8 or Adobe Bridge CS5.
To install Camera Profiles, double-click CameraProfiles.mpkg and then follow the on-screen instructions

Why will PSE 12 not open on PC, Windows Vista?

I downloaded PSE 12 a few days ago. After downloading, I opened PSE 12 and everything appeared OK, so I uninstalled PSE6.
When opening it again, PSE 12 transferred all my pictures to the Organizer, but the Editor would not open.
After re-opening PSE 12 again, neither the Organizer, nor the Editor will open.
PSE 12 appears to be installed on my computer in my program files. I am using a PC - Windows Vista.
Please inform me on what to do.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

PSE Will not open and .psd or .jpeg files

Please help, I have been using PSE 11 with success to edit hundreds of pics. However now all of a sudden it will not open any .psd or .jpeg files. When I go to PSE menu - open a finder window opens up and when I go to choose a file, the open finder window goes disapears and then the menu bar gets faded out so I cannot access any of the menu options in PSE. There are have not been any PSE warnings or messages. I have to use force quit on PSE. I have restarted my computer and even uninstalled and reinstalled PSE 11 and this still did not solve the issue. I am running OSX 10.9 with 16 GB of memory and a 3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo.

That was BRILLIANT how you somehow knew I had the coverflow view open. I tried to close the coverflow first thing but PSE closed down again so I went through the steps again previously suggested .........in my Finder - Library - Preferences - and deleted the follow again: (com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist / Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Paths / Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Settings) I was then able to close the coverflow view and the combination of tweeks helped. I can now get back to work after three days of headaches trying to solve this puzzle.

PSE 4 not opening?

I have PSE4.0 for Mac, and starting about four months ago it would load until the box said "Reading preferences" and then would proceed to unexpectedly shut down.
I just uninstalled and reinstalled, although upon reinstallation it did not ask for my serial number, etc. It finishes installation through restarting my computer, but the same thing happens.
Except for Adobe Reader, none of my Adobe products (Adobe Help Center, PSE) will open--both prompt the same message.
Thoughts? Help?

Go to your username>library>preferences and delete:
com.adobe.Photoshop.Elements.plist
PSE 4.0 paths
PSE 4.0 settings
Opera preferences
repair permissions and try again.
If it still crashes, delete the Adobe TWAIN driver from applications>PSE 4>plug-ins>import/export, but if you have an Epson scanner it may not work after you do this.

PSE does not open

First of all I have an IMAC OSX 10.7.5 4 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM. I purchased PSE 12 in March 2014. It worked for a few months and in the last week the editor stopped opening up. I have reinstalled at least five times. When it first tries to open up it says scanning for plugins. I have taken it to the Geek Squad to have my computer checked out. The technician said there is nothing wrong with my computer and that PSE 12 should work. PSE 11 opens up fine as I have also downloaded it since I could not get into PSE 12. If you have any other suggestions, would appreciate.

Try to Open Adobe Application Manager / Creative Cloud App.
Log in that with Adobe ID and Password.
If it does not work first try couple of times more.

PSE does not open the editor from LR 4.4.......a big problem for a lot of people.

I have PSE 12 and LR 4.4 on iMac 10.9.5. My LR preference is set to PSE Editor and was done so by LR, I cannot change it. When I try to edit in PSE, an 8 bit Tiff is created then I get the error message that "there was a problem.......". In the details is this line:
Dyld Error Message:
Library not loaded: @executable_path/../Frameworks/AdobeLinguistic.framework/Versions/3/AdobeLinguistic
Referenced from: /Volumes/VOLUME/*/Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor.app/Contents/MacOS/Adobe Photoshop Elements Editor
Reason: image not found
I do not understand this, but the problems seems related to the Library, which, I don't know. I had PSE 12.1, so I uninstalled it and reinstalled PSE 12.0 (I can no longer update back to 12.1). It made no difference, same error message.

BTW, I tried moving the Editor app from the support file into the app folder per fixes on this issue in the past.

PSE 10 not opening files exported from Aperture

Hi all,
I've just downloaded the trial of PSE 10. I've set up PSE 10 as my external editor in Aperture (8-bit TIFFs). But when I have a photo in Aperture and click on "edit with Photoshop Elements 10," Aperture says it's exporting the image and PSE 10 opens but there's no photo there. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.
I'd be extremely grateful for some help. I've been wanting to try PSE forever; I finally took the plunge, and now I can't get it to work!

The odds are that you are using the wrong file as the external editor. You want this one:
The easily visible file is the welcome screen alias.

PSE 9 not opening Raw files - help please!!

I just had my laptop hard drive wiped and re-installed due to a virus, and have re-installed my PSE 9. It worked fine before, opening and processing raw files, but now it says it cannot recognise these files. Help someone - why is this happening and can it be fixed?? It looks to me like my Elements interface has changed too - has it been updated?

Make sure the camera raw plug-in is up to date. Open the software and click Help >>Updates
Check all the available updates and install.

PSE does not open any image nor it is possible to open a new file

Hello,
having installed Photoshop Elements 13 for the first time on my Windows 7 Ultimate (64 Bit) computer it is a big disappointment.
I cannot open any image. It does not matter whether it is on a network share or local disk.
Have no deinstalled the program and reinstalled. But the behaviour does not change at all.
In the organizer I can select an image but when I want to transfer it the editor nothing happens.
It is also not possible to create a new empty image.
Anybody else having this behaviour?

Can not open CR2 files from a Canon 600D in PSE

Ok i will put my hand up and say i am very new to PSE, I have updated the software and have the latest camera raw plug in, but for some reason i can not open the raw files created by my 600D.
Can anyone help, or am i going to have to convert them.
Sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldn't find any posts

The 600D should be supported in ACR 6.4 which is currently in beta so you'll have to wait until it's released, probably within days or weeks, for native support within Elements.
While you're waiting, you can download the beta version of the DNG Converter 6.4 from Adobe Labs and use that to convert your CR2 files to DNGs which will open in older versions of Camera RAW.

Follow the Camera RAW 6.4 RC link and eventually you'll get a link to download the DNG Converter 6.4 RC.
The Camera RAW 6.4 RC installer will only run if you have Photoshop, not Elements, so you can't use that, yet, but you can use the DNG Converter.
Because the DNG Converter and Camera RAW 6.4 are in beta status there could be differences in how the RAW photos look compared to when you get the released version of ACR 6.4 but probably not too much difference.

Can not open camera raw in PSE 11

I can not open raw camera pictures in PSE 11 from Sony RX100II. I have uppdated ACR via help/updates in the PSE editor. I use Windows 7 home premium as OS.

PSE-11 will not open. Says MSVCP110.dll is missing. But when I look in program files, it is there.
