  • PSE 12 Not responding, it appears to load fine, but crashes 10 seconds later

    Hello,
I have Windows XP and had the product for a month.  This program worked fine less than a week ago, but today, it will not function.  I have not changed anything.  Please help, thanks.

In the PSE 12 folder, double click on the Setup.exe
If you get this, just click on Ignore

  • PSE 9 Lasso tool - "Photo not responding"

I googled this before coming to the forum here.  Apparently this is a problem for quite a few people with PSE 9.  I was using PSE 8 on a trial, and I had no problems, no glitches.  I can't buy a serial number for PSE 8, so I buy 9.  The ONLY thing I need to be able to do with elements is cut out portions from my images.  I only know how to do this with the lasso tool.  Yet there appears to be a glitch with at least the download version of PSE 9.
What happens in PSE 9: with the standard lasso tool, I start to lasso the portion of the image - and after a few seconds the lasso line disappears, the screen drops down in order to create a line at the top of the screen that says "Photo Not Responding."  Apart from the really annoying jog in the lasso now, I can no longer see the line, so have to lasso blind.  It will continue to lasso - I just now have to do it without seeing anything and hope that when my screen dropped down I was at a portion of the picture that needed a straight line.  This is amazingly frustrating.
Anyone know how to solve this problem?
The only solution I've found is one I don't understand.  The user says:
"I was running the files from my NAS and elements does not load the whole photo into memory but runs from its primary location. As soon as this was copied locally the "non responding" was eliminated."   ????   I have no idea what NAS is.  What I do is open a picture from a folder in my pictures library on my computer.
And I know it's not a problem with RAM - PSE 8 worked just fine.
    Thanks.

I have the same problem...about 98% of the time I use that lasso tool....I havent noticed if its the same photo that isnt responding...it seems to "jump" or something and it appears another photo is in the background behind the editor workspace....
If you figure it out  I'd like to know how...blind lassoing is no fun lol....

  • PSE 9 Organizer Not Responding

I just bought PSE 9.  I started tagging people in organizer and it seemed to be working fine. Now I can work for a few minutes and all the sudden the little blue Window oval appers and it says that PSE Organizer is not responding and it gives me the option to close the program or wait for the program resume. I can hear my hard drive working like crazy when this happens It usually takes about 10 minutes to recover.  It has gotten to the point that it often stops responding when I click on any thing in Organizer
I am very unhappy with this situation, does anyone have any idea whats is goin on and how I can fix it?
I am using Windows 7 with 6 meg of RAM

Same problem, have seen post that suggest it is a problem with your catalog.
I have since had to make up three new catalogs, this is getting very old!!!
If anyone has other solutions, please let me know.

  • PSE 10 Organizer NOT RESPONDING

Organizer has worked for several months.  Two days ago stopped responding.  Got Adobe Tech support to help un-installing and re-installing, but no change.  PSE 9 Organizer works OK.  Thumbnails load okay, but when move slider or try to edit get "Oranizer Not Responding" message and screen dims.  When re-installed settings change so goes to Organizer automatically on opening, so Home/welcome screen not available.  Before re-installation tried tutorials, etc. and they worked okay.  I'm essentially out of business on PSE 10.  How do I get Organizer to work?

I just followed advice of others to turn off all Media Analysis and Backup Synchronization and the Organizer appears to working normally again!  Many thanks!!

  • Pse 10 freezing/not responding?

    Hi
I'm following a Scrapbook course. When I'm attempting to assemble a page, I am frequently getting 'not responding' in the top left, and the programme freezes. What is going on please?

I am assuming that it is freezing but not crashing so might be due to performance issue. Please try some of the performance enhancement options here http://blogs.adobe.com/pselements/tips-to-enhance-photoshop-elements-performance/
    Thanks,

  • AMD A6-5400k - CPU1: Not Responding

    Hi fellas,
I got a new CPU for my maschine, which runs on ARCH-x86_64 Kernel 3.6.10. So far everything went fine but one thing:
At boot, only of the two cores is recognized. This is only the case in Arch, both BIOS and Windows show both Cores. I rebuilt my initramfs and reinstalled linux, but none helped.
I realize, there are several topics around the www and this board, but none of them helped me in my case.
I tried some things, like booting the LTS-Kernel.
Any ideas how I can solve this issue?
I got the outputs of dmesg (system boot):
I think the relevant Lines are around 0.17000.

  • Photoshop Elements 8 Error Not Responding

I am trying to get assistance in getting my photoshop back up and running.  I have called Adobe and there is no sympathy all they want is money to fix it.  They have sent me here to speak to an Adobe Tech.  I am finding that this is a very common issue but none of the resolutions have worked.  Everytime I try to enter my organizer my program stops working and gives the message "not responding".  I am running on Windows 7.  Please help, I am getting very frustrated with Adobe...

Try right clicking on the Organizer desktop icon and then choosing “Run As administrator”
If you don’t have a desktop icon, this is how to create one.
On Windows right click on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
    Browse to Computer OS C:
And find the PSE Organizer application in Program Files or Program Files (x86) on Windows 7 - 64 bit.
Inside the Adobe >> Photoshop Elements Organizer (yellow folder) you are looking for an application file
“PhotoshopEementsOrganizer” with six small icons (e.g. representing thumbnails)
    Select it and click OK
    Click next
Rename by taking out Photoshop Elements leaving just the word Organizer
    Then click finish
You should now be able to launch directly form the desktop by double clicking on the icon.
You can set up a similar direct link to the Editor application (.exe file which has the blue PSE icon). As before take out Photoshop Elements just leaving the description Editor and it will show up clearly on the desktop.

  • Program not responding-elements 8

I'm using Elements 8 with Windows 7 on a Dell Studio XPS computer and am having several problems.
When I open Elements 8, I get a screen that says "Buy more storage" following which I get a screen that says "Welcome to Elements!" and offers tour options.  There's a "cancel" button that appears for a couple of seconds to bypass these screens but, if I don't hit it very quickly it goes away and I'm stuck with the tour choices--the organizer and edit options are grayed out and not accessible.
When I do hit the cancel fast enough and go to the organizer, I receive a "program not responding" message after almost everything I try to do--access preferences, get photos, etc., etc. I really can't do anything without the "program not responding" message making an appearance.  In addition, the only menu at the top of the organizer screen on the left half is a down arrow with no text.  That allows me to select file, edit, etc. but is this the way it should be?
I managed to disable the analyzer but it didn't make a difference.  I uninstalled PSE and reinstalled it but it didn't make a difference.  Can anyone offer help?  I'm getting pretty frustrated with this useless program!

For the welcome screen problem, just don't go there. Go into the program files and make a shortcut to the actually .exe file for the editor, the organizer or both, and use that to start PSE in the future.

I bought Adobe Elements 12; I cannot use panorama photomerge, I have followed the directions to go to Full Edit  mode in edit workspace> choose File> New> Photomerge. However the Photomerge does not work, it does not respond.
The only thing I can come up with is that I found a blog that said that in the Trial version Photomerge does not work, however I do Not have the Trial version, I did at one time but I purchase Adobe Elements. Thank you.

The blog was incorrect. Photomerge should work in the trial, too.
When things get weird in PSE the first thing to do is to delete the prefs. Go to the editor preferences>general, click this button and restart the editor:

  • Photoshop Elements 13 is not responding

I have downloaded Photoshop Elements 13 and when I go to extract files it almost completes and then it says Photoshop Elements 13 is not responding.  What can I do to fix this?

    Hi,
Please try couple of probable solutions as mentioned below:
    Solution 1:
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.
Solution 2: In case any network printer is attached try to launch without network or printer uninstall or make different printer as default.
Solution 3: Try launching with anti-virus off or removing PSE from conflicting list.
    Solution 4:
On the drive on which you have installed PSE,on my machine it is on C:
Go  to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements  10\Locales\<locale>\Plug-Ins\Import-Exportand you will find twain  plug-in. Remove that plug-in from that location and copy it somewhere  else.
Now launch PSE and check if it works.

  • The update server is not responding

Trying to download the latest Camera Raw update for Photoshop Elements 11.
Everytime I start the photo editor and select updates under help it comes back with the update server is not responding.
Is there another way to do the update? I just purchased a Canon EOS 70D camera and need the camera raw update so that my camera is supported.

    Hi,
The EOS 70D requires camera raw 8.2 - unfortunately that is not compatible with PSE 11.
You can either upgrade to a newer version pf PSE or use the free Adobe DNG converter.
MAC: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Macintosh : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7
Windows: Adobe - Adobe Camera Raw and DNG Converter : For Windows : Adobe DNG Converter 8.7
You point the DNG converter to a folder containing your CR2 files and it converts them to DNG files. The DNG files can then be read by PSE 11.

  • Trial Version of elements 13 running on latest IMac 27 inch.  Move the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter where on the window the mouse is. The program does not respond quickly at all. Takes ages to do anything with it.  Any suggestions?

I am running a trial version of Elements 13 on the latest IMac 27 inch.  Any move of the mouse and it is time out.  Doesn't matter if the mouse is trying to do an edit or just moving across the window.  The program does not respond very well at all.  I am wondering now if I should bother purchasing the program.

How much ram do you have? Did you recently import a bunch of photos into the organizer? PSE will be slow till it's through cataloguing them, which can take some time for large number of images.
