PSE 7 -  Saving Online Gallery locally on disk

New in PSE7 I am missing the old PSE 2 feature to first open the gallery locally with the browser (saving on disk) istead of instantly starting ftp transfer or creating a CD. Any idea?
Thanks!

It appears that the FTP server is bundled with XP Professional.  See this page for how to set it up:
http://www.pcstats.com/articleview.cfm?articleid=1491&page=2
If you don't have XP Professional, you'll probably have to install a third-party free or shareware server.  Google "ftp server windows xp" for lots of options.
But I use Frontpage, it is ftp' ing the code in a local Web in "My webs" first instead of ftp'ing it to the net.
Frontpage isn't FTPing the local Web to your hard drive, it's just saving it directly as files (just as previous versions of PSE used to do).  Frontpage only uses FTP to send the local Web to your remove Web server when you "publish" it.

  • Need help uploading Online Gallery!

I want to upload an Online Gallery to my company's website without using the choice given in Photoshop Elements...ie FTP. I have it saved to my computer. What files do I need to use to get it online? Do I upload everything in the folder?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kati

Upload the whole folder by FTP, the same way you would upload anything else to your site. Use whatever FTP program you would normally use.
Note that if you want navigation back to the main site from the gallery, you will need to  put in the HTML code for that yourself.

  • Photoshop Elements 6 online gallery blank pages

I've created a few online galleries to put on my Windows Home server website. They look good on the local network, but when accessed on my website, the browser pages are usually blank. Sometimes I can get something to show up, but usually not.
I discovered some information on the Flash components that seem to cause a similar problem for Photoshop created online galleries:
    http://blog.choppingblock.com/2009/05/photoshop-photo-gallery-flash-detect-update/
Unfortunately, due to the structure of the templates being different between Photoshop and elements, I couldn't figure out how to "fix" the online gallery templates in Elements. The logical solution for something like this - if this is indeed the problem with elements, would be for Adobe to provide a down-loadable fix for Elements. I don't have great hopes for this since Adobe is not very proactive in supporting Elements if you don't have the latest version.
    I have this configuration:
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Adobe Flash 10
Adobe Photoshop Elements 6/Premier Elements 4
    Internet Explorer 8.
Access is on a website hosted on my Windows Home Server.
    Any thoughts out there?
    Thanks,
    Tom

    Hi Barbara,
Thanks for the reply. I did copy the entire folder structure over to the
server. Each online gallery is within its own folder. On the server itself,
the gallery displays properly. It displays properly when it is accessed from
my laptop by mapping the server drive. It does not display when logging on
to the website (hosted on the same server). Very strange, but I've found
others who have had similar problems, just no answers except the possible
flash detection problem documented in the link in the original message.

  • Writing to user local machine disk

    Hi guys,
I'm still new to webstart and not familiar with this technology.
I'm writting a desktop application to be run with webstart.
the basic activities in my app are:
1)saving GIF images to hard disk (in Application directory).
    2)Invoking a fileChooser
    3)Displying the gif images
now Im trying to imagine this on a live machine. Is this going to work with WebStart? Are the files being uploaded to the server and then sent back one at a time to the WebStart client? Or does WebStart provide an area that we can put the image files on the client machine?
can u desribe me how to implement this webstart functionality.
    many thanks for helping !

WebStart is a distribution mechanism and sandbox environment. Because of the sandbox environment, you cannot access the local disk without permission from the user. Permission can be gotten in one of two ways:
    - digitally sign the application, then ask for permission in your JNLP file. If the user grants permission, your application is allowed to read and write files on the user's local system (still subject to Operating System permissions, of course)
    - make each request for disk access through the JNLP API on a case-by-case basis
WebStart does NOT provide any extra/special help with storing images or files, you will have to create the functionality for that yourself.

Lion creates a Recovery partition on your harddrive. You will need to boot from startup.

  • Full (Level 0) backup to local/NFS disk

I am new to SAP's BR*Tools, and need advice in configuring it to use RMAN.
    1. My backups are to be written to a staging area on our SAN.
    2. What specific parameters do I need to configure in the initSID.sap file to achive Full (Level 0) backup to local/NFS disk - preferably using RMAN?
    3. I have successfully performed a Full (Level 0) backup without RMAN to local disk.  Also, I have successfully done an incremental (Level 1) backup using BRTools with RMAN.  I want to get BRTools + RMAN based Full (Level 0) backup to local/NFS disk.

  • Instructions on the Apple site to do this but it didn't work. How do I revert back to the original set up? All files still on local hard disk

I moved the itunes folder to an external hard drive but it didn't work, so I want to revert back to original set up. All the files are still on the local hard disk. I have tried to reverse the steps I used previously but when I try to play a track it says original file could not be found. If I navigate to the itunes music folder and select a track direct from there it opens itunes and plays so I know the music is still on the computer I just can't figure out how to get it to play direct from itunes.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

In case you use "Clear history when Firefox closes" or otherwise clear history:
*do not clear the Browsing History
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history": [X] "Clear history when Firefox closes" > Settings

  • Is there anyway to stop PS Touch automatically resizing the file/image when saving to Gallery

I bought the Note primarily for the PS touch feature as a way of editting my photos on the move and not being tied to my PC at home. Now i load up my images from the MicroSD card and edit away but when i save them i only have the option of saving to Gallery and not the memory card (not a major problem itself). However they are automatically reduced in both file size but also image size, which is fine for small prints but i like having the option of printing larger so would prefer to keep the large file size if possible.
On a similar note is it possible to save direct back to the memory card overwritting the original or is it always going to go to the gallery?

The only thing you can to it to set the  import size to the max value within the PS Touch Settings-> Image Import
When your image is even larger than the MAX value, PS Touch downscales the image.
    Hope that answers your question.

    ashish35,
No one from Apple here - we're just users like you. All I can tell you is that electronic fail and with MacBook Pros (and most notebooks) the components are so integrated as to make a repair to the logic board practically impossible, hence the high prices charged for repairs.
Only you can decide if you want to have your computer repaired or put the money towards the purchase of a new computer. If you do decide to purchase a new unit I would suggest that you also purchase the AppleCare Protection Plan which increases your warranty from one year to three years.
    Sorry and good luck,

  • I edited a .nef file in Camera Raw and PSE 11 saved it as a .xmp file.  I cannot open it now.

I edited a .nef file in Camera Raw and PSE 11 saved it as a .xmp file.  I cannot open it now.
I am not sure if this is an issue but Windows does not recognize the .xmp file and give it an icon with the photo's picture.  On a related note, when I edited some .nef files and Windows saved it as .dng file, it too, like the .xmp file, Windows does not recognize the .dng file and give it an icon with the photo's picture.
Do I need to download something to create this icon?

PSE didn't save your file as an .xmp file. The .xmp file is not the image--that's still the .nef. The xmp file is what adobe calls a 'sidecar' file, just a record of the settings you used in the raw converter. As long as it's in the same place as the image, when you open the nef in ACR again, it will open where you left off, with the settings you chose.
If you want to save as, you have two choices:
    1. Click the Open button in the raw converter window and save in the image format of your choice.
    2. Use the Save button in the raw converter to create a separate DNG file, which still must be opened in the raw converter and converted to an image format for use in other programs.

  • How to export the comp/interface to local hard disk

    hi all,
can any one send me how to export the comp/interface to local hard disk
    thanks,
    viswa

    Hi Vishwa,
It is not possible to export the project or comp/interface from a WDA project to your local hard disk.
Also if you need more information on WD ABAP please post in WebDnpro ABAP forum. You will definitely get more information regarding your queries in that forum.
I hope this answer helps you.

  • Is there an online gallery of APEX (stock) themes?

I'd like to be able to point my users to an online gallery of APEX (stock) themes, so they can choose one without me needing to sit with them just to show what is available in Application Builder, but I could not find one.

Vikas (and maybe Carl?) used to have a set of Sample Applications configured with every theme on apex.oracle.com, but I haven't seen any mention of this for years. Probably completely out of date even if still available.
The theme preview images should be lurking around in the images folders somewhere. (Where is not obvious from the 4.2 theme page, and I don't have access to an installation I can dig around in at present.) Start by trying to find them and you should be able to create a simple app to display them.

  • Downloading from online gallery

How can I download my online gallery back to my organizer.  I just bought a new computer and thought this would be pretty easy but can't seem to figure it out. Thanks

If you use photoshop.com you can simply turn on synchronization.

  • Replacing online gallery flowers flash with another flash scene?

I'd really like to have a little variety and be able to get rid of the flowers that appear as the online gallery is being loaded/prepared.
Is there any way to do this?

I'll second the recommendation to use JAlbum. If you pick the right skin, it generates completely standard-conforming HTML:
    http://jalbum.net/forum/thread.jspa?messageID=110021
Adobe will always push you to use its proprietary technologies. For that reason, even if they were to make non-Flash galleries available, I would much prefer to generate my galleries independently.

  • Online gallery?

Does anyone have any ideas for an online gallery now Apple have stopped the Mobile Me galleries. There seems to be options out there but none that have the professional look and simplicity of the Mobile Me gallery. The ability to download an image etc and hide galleries.
I am a professional photgrapher and don't want the look and feel of Flickr and Smugmug etc.
Why did Apple adandon this service when Aperture is such a great product..... maybe they have something in the pipeline for Version 4?
I looked at dphoto.com .... it's good but not great.

Have you seen Roger Wilmut's page?
    Migrating from Mobile Me:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/migrate/frommobileme3.html
I continue to use iWeb to publish my galleries; iWeb can upload to any web host that offers FTP access.
The only thing you need to do to continue to use iWeb is patch the application, so that some icons will not be downloaded from MobileMe but from your own computer.
See Old Toad's guide on how to do that:
    Modify the iWeb Application: http://oldtoadstutorials.net/No.26.html
