PSE 7 stopped launching

I have PSE 7 it has stopped lauching - Why? I've had it for years and no problem with it. I have tried all round about ways to launch it (like rt clicking a jpeg and saying for PSE 7 to edit it) nothing works. I've gone directly to the shortcuts target file and double clicking to no avail.

I had exactly the same  it just stopped working and failed to launch.
Two tricks
Make a short cut to the PSE Editor - you will find it in C:\Program Files;
probably it's in here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0
its called PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
Un-install and re-install the whole thing - there is no 'repair' option and you will need the install key again, it does not remember these
On the whole its a right butt pain; but both work, I did both in that order, note that Organiser is not that useful or very good, so step 1 is all thats really required to get the Editor working again.
It appears its organiser and the welcome screen that go mammaries up, the editor still works, just don't click organiniser or the whole PC can freeze.

  • PSE 10 for pc-edit photo stopped launching/working

I am trying to edit a photo and it stopped launching the workspace. What am I doing wrong or how can I fix this.  I have edited a bunch of pics and it just stopped launching. I have re-started the program AND my computer with no success. Any suggestions would help

Bypass the Unwelcome Screen by creating Desktop shortcuts for the Organizer and the Editor, and restarting your computer.
    The Editor's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 10\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
    The Organizer's executable is:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
The Unwelcome Screen leaves a zombie process running which prevents the actual program from launching again.

  • CC desktop app stops launching @ boot-up & Adobe Tech Support can't fix it permanently. Now what?

Problem: Adobe Creative Cloud desktop app stops launching upon boot-up and the CC icon does not appear up on my iMac's desktop menu bar at top. And whenever I loose that, I can't open my CC apps.  Our friends in India seem eager to help and always manage to stumble onto a solution, (each time through a different process, it seems), but that lasts for only 2 or 3 boot-ups before it quits working again.
When I try to manually launch the "Adobe Creative Cloud" desktop app (by double-clicking it in my Applications folder), its red icon appears on my Dock and bounces up and down but does nothing more. My Force-Quit utility shows it as "not responding" so I have to force quit it.
My case has been elevated to Tier-2 Support but they call outside of the agreed-upon hours so I'm not here. My only recourse is to call them back, but that only gets me yet another Tier-1 technician and their limited troubleshooting playbook. I did get to talk with a Tier-2 technician once, but the results were still the same:  Manages to restore it, but after just a few boot-ups the Adobe Creative Cloud app stops launching again and I can't use my Creative Cloud tools: Ps, Ai, Id, Pr. (And leaving my workstation on all the time isn't an option.)  What DOES keep working without fail is Adobe's monthly hit on my credit card.
Has anyone else experienced this and managed to permanently solve it?  How?  I'm running a slightly older OS-X 10.7.5 and wondering if that could be a factor. Thanks for reading this and for any help you can offer.

    Hi TWalkerArt,
Could you please create a test account and see whether the apps are working there: http://support.apple.com/kb/ph4600

  • Photoshop Elements 6 stops launching

Windows XP Pro, SP2 and all updates.
Elements 6 stops launching: cannot find a connection to any other task that I am doing.
The only method to operate normally is to use install disk and do the "repair process". The program will not start to operate normally: until the next time that it becomes unresponsive.
Have tried complete uninstall and reinstall. After reinstall, Elements operated normally for about 1 month and then stopped responding to program launch.
Tried going directly to the program folder and launching the program.EXE file directly: no change.
Searched the previous responses but they seem to focus on Vista or a Bundled software package.

Your suggestion, I had found this earlier, only addresses Vista so I assumed that it did not apply to XP Pro.
    Answers to your questions:
    1.
After repairing the program, using the install CD, the program launches into the Welcome Screen. Prior to the most recent repair, when the program did launch, it loaded directly into the editor portion.
    2.
When the program launch cycle is NOT performing, there is a short (a second or two) duration "spinning of the cursor" and then nothing. No display is presented and the system goes back to, in this case, the Desktop as if nothing had been requested.
    3.
I will definitely check Explorer for any processes after the launch attempt if the attempt is a failure. Sadly, for troubleshooting purposes, this is a periodic issue.
I can use the program, or at least launch it, every day or several times a day, without an issue and then for some unknown reason, the launch will be non responsive.

  • My Adobe Premiere Elements 11 Editor just stopped launching and crashed every time now... getting fed up.

My Adobe Premiere Elements 11 Editor just stopped launching and crashed every time now... getting fed up.

Thanks for the reply. You have a lot of considerations before you.decide to purchase additional software.
Great that the Photoshop Elements 11 Editor from Mac App Store is working, but I am not sure how that was integrating with Premiere Elements 11 Editor or will interact with Premiere Elements 11 Mac if you can find the latter for purchase online from Amazon or other. (I realize that the Mac App Store products did not come with Elements Organizer 11; whereas the Premiere Elements 11 Mac does.)
If you want to add Premiere Elements 11 Mac to your computer, it might be a good idea to look at the tryout from the following web site, and then purchase from your selected vendor. The web site offering the 11 tryout does not sell the tryout as far as I have ever heard.
Photoshop Elements 11 Direct Download Links: Free Trials, Premiere | ProDesignTools
With this route you need to read and carryout carefully that web site's "Note: Very Important Instructions" in order to avoid access denied messages.
When you purchased 11 Mac, you could even leave that tryout installed and just insert the serial number from your purchased 11 product in them to make
    that your working system.
    Please consider.
    Thank you.

  • Iweb stopped launching on osx 10.6.8

    Hi All
iweb has stopped launching on Osx 10.6.8? just bounces up and down but nothing happens? have reinsalled and repaired pemissions but no joy??
    Any help much appreciated

Make sure the iWeb app is in the Applications folder.  If it is try clicking on it there.  If still no luck try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
User/Home/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder (Snow Leopard and Earlier).
3 - launch iWeb and try again.
NOTE:  In Lion and Mountain Lion the Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and hit the Enter button - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.

  • Stop Launching Iphoto?

Any way to get the iphone to stop launching iphoto everytime you sync?

Any way to get the iphone to stop launching iphoto
    everytime you sync?
Delete any photos stored in the 'Camera Roll' section of your iPhone and iPhoto won't launch. Otherwise you'll have to disable iPhoto launching for all cameras. I agree this should be adjustable but for now OS X sees an iPhone as just another camera. As long as it has pictures that haven't been uploaded, iPhoto will helpfully offer to get them for you.
Of course, this doesn't apply to sync'd photos -- just the ones you take with the iPhone camera. So the way to deal with it (on a mac at least) is to let iPhoto upload your pictures when you dock. Edit them in iPhoto and move the ones you want to keep on the iPhone into an "iPhone pics" folder and sync that. Seems a bit circular but then we're only at iPhone 1.0 so far!

  • PSE automatically launches on Mac OS

All of a sudden whenever I turn on or log on to my iMac OS X, PSE 6.0 automatically launches. It never used to do this. The icon is on my dock and just starts bouncing and launching and it's driving me crazy. There is no place I can find in PSE preferences to turn this off. Help!

There is nothing at all in PSE that could do this, but I bet it's the Adobe Updater that's causing it: look in the dock a minute or so after PSE launches. Do you see a white rectangle there? That's the adobe updater. To stop it, since you probably already clicked on Later or something sometime to make it do this, you'll need to let it run, then go to the Updater window and you'll see a Preferences button. Click that and turn off auto updating. It's just a nuisance and the only thing it ever successfully updates is Adobe Reader, not PSE.
If that's not it, somehow PSE got into your startup items folder. System Preferences>User Accounts>Login Items.

  • ITunes has stopped launching when I plug in my iPhone via USB

Two things have stopped working with my iPhone recently.
    1.  iTunes no longer launches automatically when I plug in my iPhone to my iMac via USB.
    2.  The iPhone Notes app has stopped syncing via USB lead between the iPhone and the iMac.
I have tried closing applications, and rebooting both the iPhone and iMac, but this makes no difference.
I'm running OS X 10.6.8 on my iMac.
My iPhone is a 3G running iOS 4.2.1
    Can anyone help?
This sounds like a bug introduced by a recent software update.  Is anyone at Apple listening?

For point 1 have a look on your Mac:
Settings | System | Users & Groups | Your Account | Login Items
and see if iTunesHelper is there and ticked. If it has a yellow warning symbol next to it it has lost were to find this app which brings up iTunes when you connect devices.
It could have been messed up by an upgrade of iTunes. To set it up again you can add it to the 'Login Items' again. The iTunesHelper application is buried inside the iTunes application special folder:
    Applications > iTunes > Contents > MacOS > iTunesHelper
you can navigate to it by looking at the package contents for iTunes (right click it). You can't add it by choosing the '+' button because you have to look inside iTunes.
Open Users & Groups, your account, Login Items then next to it
Open a Finder window navigate to iTunesHelper like above and then drag icon for it into the Login Items window.

  • Photoshop CS4 stopped launching, no error message. Mac os 10.5.8 on PPC

    Hi all,
I´m using Photoshop CS4 on this computer (Powerbook G4 PPC with OS 10.5.8, 10 GB HD free, 1.5 Gb Ram) without problems since 3 years ago.
2 days ago it stopped suddently working. It just doesn´t launch, without error message. On that days I was using an external USB hard disk that crashed...
Bridge runs ok but when I try to run Camera Raw, I get the message  "Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature".
I already re-installed photoshop, uninstalled it and reinstalled, I tried also "App cleaner" and also I tried deleting all folders related to photoshop CS4 and reinstalling. I also repared disk permissions. I tried to use the Adobe CC Cleaner Tool but unfortunatly it doesn´t run on this machine.
Next step would be to format the machine, but I don´t want to do it unless it´s strictly necessary..
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks in advance!

Alas, Photoshop 7.x is not supported in Leopard (nor in Snow Leopard)—as far as I know.
What's worse, Photoshop 7.x is out of the upgrade path.

  • ITunes won't stop launching

I don't know if this happens every time that Apple has a release but it seems like once they have pushed an update my iTunes goes crazy. It won't stop auto launching at will. It's doing this on all profiles and I do not have this in my auto launch application list. I also already tried to run a permission repair and this did nothing as well. The launchd is the parent service and I thought by force killing it, it might fix the problem. Needless to say that killed my session lol. I checked the permissions on the application and my files and the permissions appeared ok. Any suggestions would be helpful.
P.S. I have deleted the app before and reinstalling it but that doesn't help.

I believe I found the answer from another post. The post mentioned a Bluetooth connection problem. I looked at my Bluetooth item list and noticed that my discoverable option was on and I turned it off. I also noticed that my Bluetooth connected printer was also unavailable and think that this was the root cause.

  • ITunes doesn't stop launching

Please help. iTunes keeps on launching for no reason.

I think someone else raised this issue today. They had an iTunes widget on their dashboard, and deactivating the widget stopped it from opening iTunes.

  • IWeb -- stop launching at start-up!!

how do i stop iWeb from launching when i start my macBook??

Launch 'System Preferences' and click on 'Accounts'. In your account click on 'Login Items'. Find iWeb in the list that you will see and remove it by selecting it and clicking the '-' button. Next time you boot iWeb shouldn't launch automatically.

  • Stop launching iPhoto with iPhone

anyone know how to stop iPhoto from launching automatically, every time i hook my iPhone up to my computer?
    thanks so much.

I have had this same problem and changed the settings in iPhoto so that it did not automatically open when I attach the iPhone. But wouldn't it be nice if iTunes and iPhoto could coordinate and sync simultaneously or in tandem? iPhoto always opens first - and I can see the point in this, since one might want to first download photos and then place them in albums to then resync back onto iPhone. But it would be better if I had a choice. How nice it would be if a dialog box popped up asking which program I would like to open first?
I am so frustrated because iTunes inevitably crashes after I plug and unplug the iPhone a few times to get it to sync with iTunes rather than iPhoto.

  • Java applications stop launching

    Hello people !!!
Some applications like Limewire or JBidWatcher don't launch without an error or crash message. This is what happen:
    1) Double click in Limewire application.
    2) The icon in the dock begin bouncing.
    3) The icon in the dock stop bouncing without open the application after some seconds.
    4) Nothing more happen.
And this happen with all java-based applications.
Some extra comments: I'm using OSX 10.3.9, Java 1.4.2, 256MB Ram. And all this was there 3 weeks ago when the problem begin i don't know how.
Any of you know what happen with the system or the Java applications ???

I would check the preferences of the applications in question, and maybe even the java preferences themselves. To do this go to you home directory -> Library -> Preferences. Then drag the appropriate files to the desktop. The next time the apps in question open up these preference files will be recreated. When I say the appropriate files, most of the files are of the form
    com.apple.*
where the * could be anything. Just remove the ones where the * matches an application (like Limewire). If after pulling the applications' preference files it still doesn't work, try pulling javas:
    com.apple.java.util.prefs.plist
    java.plist
Again, these should be automatically recreated the next time Java starts up. HTH.
