PSE 8 - catalog now shows all pics on wrong drive, ran psedbtool
My current photos are on E:\My Documents\My Pictures. I recently installed PSE 8 (I'd had PSE 6 and wasn't happy with it) and am in the process of reorganizing and re-tagging everything. I wanted to get the photos off of my old HD, which is now a removable HD and incorporate them into my catalog. The pics are on K when I plug in the old HD. I moved a few of them using PSE, NOT Windows. Now, my entire catalog shows my pictures are on K instead of E. I also have a bunch in offline volumes (CDs) which are fine. The photos that were actually on E are still on E - but PSE just doesn't know it. Reading the help topics, I downloaded and ran psedbtool, and will paste the output below. However, I'm not savvy enough to know what I'm seeing or what to do next to get the catalog to see the photos in their "real" locations. Help would be greatly appreciated.

That was helpful, and I thank you. I still have a problem that I didn't realize I had. I can reconnect the thumbnails, as you recommended, that were on the K drive, and they then show up correctly on the E drive. However (there's always a however, isn't there?) it turns out that what has happened is that the thumbnails that were on the K drive are the only ones showing up in the Organizer. All the photos that were *only* on the E drive, which were all tagged, don't show up in the Organizer. I can import them from their folders on the E drive, and though on some folders it asks if I want the tags to be imported as well, only a very few tags (if any) import. Virtually everything is "tag-less." I have checked under "imported tags" and they don't show up there, and of course there's no "tag" symbol with the thumbnails/pics. I have made sure "details" is checked. I have run "repair" and "optimize" on the catalog. I have said many magic words. I dread having to re-tag all these, and I can't figure out why plugging in that old hard drive caused all this. I have searched the forums for how to restore tags that were associated with pictures when the pics get re-imported, but I'm really stuck.

PSE 7 Organizer shows all pictures instead of the selected ones
When i make a selectin in the organizer it will always show all pictures instead of only the selection. This also happens when i create a smart photoalbum, it includes all photo's. It only adds a "not-selected sign" to the photo, but it will still show.
Are the photos with the red circle-slash icon in stacks or version sets? See this FAQ:

Catalog is showing all images as missing or unavailable
Equip: LR4, MAC 10.7.5
Background: I was in the process of moving my catalogs to a new external HD via lightroom, it was going slow but working properly. I got an alert from my Time Machine that my external was almost full and I need to make space for a back up to occur. I moved the Time Machine back up to take place on my NEW (formatted for mac) HD. Since this took place (the Time Machine Backups are not on the NEW external HD) all of my catalogs on my old external HD are showing the files as missing when opened in LR4 and they are light grey or not illuminated-not sure of the proper term but I hope this is clear. I attempted the synchronize troubleshoot but the "synchronize" option was not in illuminated as an option. I looked at renaming the HD with the same letter, but I believe that applies to PC's and not Mac.
Any help in navigating this would be most appreciative.

Iphoto not showing all pics in the library
I recently found pics in my iphoto library that aren't showing up in iphoto. Is there a way to make iphoto scan all of the hard driveor rescan the library to 're-find' pics?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Where are these files located? If they are in side the iPhoto Library/Originals folder you can try rebuilding the library by launching iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and following the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all the options, especially the one regarding orphaned photos.
If they are in a folder titled Imports or something like that drag the folder to the desktop and import them from there.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Tabs set to open on launch. Now showing all 'New Tabs'
Launched Firefox, all tabs now just have the title 'New Tab', and show a plank page with nothing in the address bar.
They aren't showing in closed tab history, there is no page to go back to on the tab, they are just blank, as if I had just opened one, only without the tile screen.
Anyone have an idea as to how to get them back?Yep, that's the setting
Tried safe mode, still nothing. Seems that the data of the tabs open has been changed to be just blank tabs somehow. -
Address Book now showing all LDAP attributes
The Address Book does not provide access to all LDAP attributes. For example
homePhone
homePostalAddress
labeledURI
are some of the fields currently left out. It would be nice if it was possible to configure the schema mapping, similar to thunderbird which allows the mapping off all the field it know about to corresponding LDAP attributes. Also inetOrgPerson, even though it is the defacto standard is rather due for redesign.
I am just wondering if anybody else if having this problem and if they found a solution?the script did not work for me

Back up all data.
Launch the Font Book application and validate all fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in help and this support article for instructions. If Font Book finds any issues, resolve them.
From the application's menu bar, select
File ▹ Restore Standard Fonts...
You'll be prompted to confirm, and then to enter your administrator login password.
Boot in safe mode to rebuild the font caches. Boot again as usual and test.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. In that case, ask for instructions.
Also note that if you deactivate or remove any built-in fonts, for instance by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable. -
I have move all Pic to new drive, lightroom can't find PSD pictures?
I have moved all pictures and LRCAT to new drive, Lightroom can't find any PSD pictures? Is this a problem with Lightroom?
1. I exported all pictures using export as a catalog to a new external hard drive. I’m using lightroom 5. The file was large. I have about 3000 missing pictures after to import to new drive. sing find, I try to find the pictures. I discovered that lightroom could not find any pictures with .PSD extension. I would go to the prior drive and do a search using window explorer, I would find the picture with the PSD extension and go back to “find” again, I would get to the correct folder and Lightroom would say there were no pictures in the folder. I’m using the “!” on the corner of the missing picture to start the “ find” and I work backwards until I find the correct folder that I identified using windows exployer. Normally this process works great. Suggestions?

Iphoto project preview is faulty pdf shows truncated pics
recently purchased 4 extra large hardcover books of wedding photos after printing 3 successfully. the second set purchased had the cover shot of bride head's cut off All these books were done at the project desk at my local apple store. The staff cannot explain what happened but checking the book in pdf format is now shows all pics thru the book truncated. had to delete project and start again, meanwhile apple has offered no remedy other than 15% off on my next print purchase. Just redid book cropping all pics to book format and additionally when set in book had them formatted to fit page layout and in project preview they look fine but when i pdf preview same problems of truncation of photos Help
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. What player are you referring to? Once a DVD is burned it's a read only disk and can't be changed in any way. If you're referring to the optical drive in your computer, try the disk in a set top DVD player and see if it can be read correctly.
Instead of burning to disk use the File->Save as Disk Image menu option first. You can then open that disk image and use DVD player to confirm that the encoding went correctly, there's no typos in the menus, etc., before committing to disk. Once you're satisfied with the project's encoding use Disk Utility to burn that disk image to a DVD disk. Burn at the slowest speed available to help insure a good burn.

PC Won't boot now! D bracket showing all 4 leds red!
Ok this has got me stumped, on top of all my fan speed problems now that I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate x64, last night I found that my PC now WON'T BOOT AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!! ? The D bracket is now showing all red leds, which according to the manual, it means either the CPU is damaged or CPU is not seated correctly. But how can this be? I haven't even touched the CPU!?
Anyway, I have already tried removing the heat sink and reseating the cpu but it is still showing all 4 red leds.
This morning I tried booting it again but now I noticed that it is showing 2 red and 2 orange leds. What does the orange colour indicate?
I've also tried clearing the CMOS - no change.
I am completely at a loss now as to how my PC can all of a sudden just become totally unusable!? Is it the fault of Windows 7? Does Windows 7 somehow require more power to the CPU which may have fried it?
What can I do now?

Have you tried another processor? With your fan issues it concerns me the processor my have gotten too hot.
Yes, this is certainly a possibility and I haven't ruled this out yet. However the problem is trying to find someone with another socket 939 cpu and mobo. I know someone who has a Shuttle PC but he majorly cbfed taking it apart and trying my cpu out.
But even if the processor got too hot, why is the D Bracket showing 2 red and 2 orange leds. Shouldn't it be showing all 4 as red? That's why I still believe the BIOS maybe corrupted as well.
Anyway, I'm getting in a technician today so hopefully he will be able to try it out somehow. -
Since restarting, the Activity monitor floating CPU history Window now shows all eight cores collapsed into one. Since receiving a new iPhone 4S to replace a previous phone, my calendar is now showing all birthdays as being a day before the date they are listedon within my contacts list. Any ideas why and how to rectify?
I posted this question a while ago and didn't receive any responses but there are a lot of people who have viewed it and 10 have said they have the same question so I thought I would update you that I added my nanny to my exchange server account (created an email for her) and I send all invites to that email address and they work. So sending invites from an exchange server account to a non-exchange server account apparently is a bug so to solve it, get on an exchange server I guess.

After 11.1 update, podcast page now shows 1500 undeletable ones with the cloud symbol. Turn it off?
Itunes just updated to v11.1 for windows 7. On the podcast page every one of my subscriptions now show ALL available podcasts with the little cloud logo. I cannot delete them nor is there a place to turn that off. If I download it then delete it, it goes right back to the cloud logo. I want it back the way it used to be just a few days ago where it only showed downloaded podcasts that I can delete when done.. Please help me get rid of that. Thank you.
Huh. My complaint actually got fixed at some point; I'm on 11.1.3 (8) now, and it's been working for a while. (My current complaint is that iOS 7's podcast app introduced the feature of letting you download eps directly on your phone, rather than sync-ing over from iTunes, but in the process they made it somewhat harder to manage your podcast subscriptions; I still haven't 100% figured out what actions will sync between phone and computer, and what I need to do manually in both places. It's definitely not working as smoothly as, say, the way Contacts syncs through iCloud.)

PSE 11 Catalog not showing up in Catalog Manager
My latest battle with PSE11 is trying to access my catalog in PSE11 via the Catalog Manager but it doesn't show up in the list. The catalog is named My Catalog 2 is located at C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\My Catalog 2. It is the only catalog I use and is the one that opens up when I launch Organizer. But, for the life of me, I can't get it to show up in the Catalog Manager. The only catalog that shows up is the original catalog which is at a different location and was created when I installed PSE11 on my new computer (Thinkpad W530, Windows 8). I've tried the Custom Location option and browsing to the location, but still no dice. This catalog has thousands of pictures and was converted from my previous PSE6 catalog. How do I get the Catalog Manager to find my current active catalog? I need to do a repair to try and fix another problem I'm having.
This all really started with the migration from my ancient Inspiron 8600 Win XP computer to my new Thinkpad W530 Win 8 computer and at the same time upgrading from PSE6 to PSE11. In the process, I had to move all my pictures (1000s upon 1000s of them) to a different drive letter and main folder location than I was using on my old computer, although I kept the same subfolder structure. This led to all the pictures being reported as missing in PSE11. The reconnection function in PSE11 is not very good (IMO) at handling a situation like this. The way it works, it would take forever and a day for it to search and reconnect all those picture files. I think there was a third-party tool that worked on previous versions of PSE that would let you make mass changes to the file locations, but it doesn't work on the later versions of PSE.
Anyway, I started doing some manual reconnecting and came across a weird situation where a few files wouldn't reconnect saying the file already existed in the catalog which didnt make sense. So, I thought maybe an optimize/repair might fix the glitch. This then led me to the Connection Manager problem. I don't know, maybe all the unconnected files might be causing CM not to recognize the catalog which wouldn't make sense (to me).
Since this situation of having files change location is likely to arise again, I had started investigating perhaps putting together some sort custom reconnect function using a sqlite db tool as you mentioned. I was just hoping to get the files reconnected for now and move on to other things. But, things are seldom simple and straight forward anymore.
I did get My Catalog 2 back to my default at least. I manually deleted the TestCatalog folder and when I launched Organizer, it prompted for a new catalog via CM. But, CM of couse didn't list My Catalog 2. So, I manually launched the catalog.pse11db file via file explorer and Organizer then made it my default catalog again.
