PSe 8: Clips in timeline/sceneline not showing in project view.

IN Photoshop Elements 8 I have a clip in my timeline/sceneline that is not showing up in Project view nor does it have the "P" in the bottom right corner in Organizer view. I thought that project view is supposed to display all scenes currently in the sceneline/timeline.

PreE V8: Clips not displaying in project view

I have a clip in the my timeline/sceneline that is not displaying in Project view. It also does not have the "P" in the bottom corner of the thumbnail in Organizer view. Why isn't the clip considered part of the project?

I have been shooting in XP+ mode and have been for the past year.
I haven't tried using the Premier Elements Get Media function. I usually import both still images from one camera and the video from this camera at the same time into the same Photoshop album and use Organizer. Also there are some training videos and books that tell you to use Organizer.
I tried importing a video file using the Get Media function and was able to use the set in/out points and have them saved correctly.
Then in the project that I am working on I took one of video files that I imported through the Organizer and deleted it from the catalog. Then I imported it using the Get Media function and put it in the album with the other files. Then I used Preview to set in/out points. Those points were saved correctly.
So know I will delete all the remaining video files from the catalog that I haven't yet used in my project and then remote them through Premiere's Get Media.
So it appears that as you thought, I need to use Get Media to import video files. But that is not emphasized in any documentation. I think there should be a warning when importing video files in Organizer saying that if you intend to use Premier Elements to edit them that they should be imported via that product.

Problem with Css styles not showing in live view or when i browse

I am using Mac osx 10.6 and building website with Dreamweaver CS5. Sometimes div tags i create not showing styles or rendering in live view or when I browse but showing in design view. I looked in dreamwever faq and they talk about not showing in design view to toggle the display styles. That is not the problem becuase it is check marked and I tried turning off and turning on and made no difference.I am using firefox browser.
It happened before the other day too. But all of my other pages in this site that i have created the same way building with div tags and css styles. So not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone has a suggestion here.

Errors are not showing in Tasks view

Hello,
I dont know why errors are not showing in Tasks view after I click Save All Metada, they only show when a Rebuild de project. This start to happen after a few days, can anyone tell me how to fix this?

After rebuild all compile time dependency and syntax might be checked and something is missing then errors suppose to come.
If you have doubt you can re install the NWDS...

Captions Not Showing in List View Though They are There

Ever since I've been using Aperture I've had issues with Captions not showing in List View. The caption is there and shows in the Info Panel but does not show in the List View. I close Aperture, reopen, and it appears in List View. Frustrating when trying to caption thousands of images. You think the image has no caption and when you add a caption it doubles up on what is already there, but could not been seen, and a mess is born. Any one else have this issue? I see it in every Library I create whether on my field laptop or my main desktop Library. Screen shot attached of caption showing in Info pane but not in list view.

Happens all the time. The problem has been there for as long as I can remember, and shows itself in Keywords as well as Captions, maybe others. And yes, it is a major annoyance, and it is a bug IMO. You've found the same workaround I have, namely to restart Aperture.
If you haven't already done so, submit a bug report using Aperture Feedback to add your voice to the list.

Have you found a solution yet? I don’t know if I will be of any help but I was curious and no one else has chimed in yet.
I don’t quite understand all of your statement.
To clarify, you were making SimpleSave backups from Win95 and cannot see them all on the Win7 laptop?
Or
You were copying files over (SimpleSave utility not used) and you cannot see those files on Win7 but you can on the Win95 machine?
Do you have another Win7 machine you could connect the external to, to see if the files are still not showing (one that is not locked for work)?
On the drive that shows full, can you see it in Disk Management showing the correct size of the drive and also another CD drive? Not your real CD/DVD drive, it’s actually a CD emulator that is attached to the HDD for encrypting the backups and all SimpleSave’s have them.
Lastly, did you reformat the SimpleSave drive to Fat32 first?
My understanding is that USB support was quite limited on Win95 machines. Since Win95 is Fat32 and the SimpleSave drive is by default NTFS, I would think it would not work.

Clips added to timeline do not show up in sceneline

Can someone please guide me to fix this problem. I have imported AVCHD videos from an HD camcord into my files and folders. Then I've opened up these files in the premiere elements organizer, dragged them onto the timeline. A pop up appears asking me if I want to videomerge the clip because it has a sold background. The first clip I drag onto the timeline will appear in the sceneline, but after that, any clips I drag onto the timeline does not appear on the secenline. It only extends the first clip in the sceneline to make it one big clip (although in the timeline you see them as separate). I can't work with the transitions easily without being able to view the storyboard mode.
Also, the first clip dragged onto the timeline always ended up on the Video 2 track, it doesn't allow me to drag anything onto the video 1 track.
I only installed this program not long ago and haven't changed any default settings. All of the tutorials I find online doesn't start up this way.

You have to select the correct AVCHD project preset at the start up screen...New Project, then select Change Settings and select the correct AVCHD project preset. If your audio is 5.1 surround sound be sure to select the AVCHD 5.1 audio project preset, if stereo select the AVCHD project preset. If you select the wrong preset for your audio the audio will be placed on track 4 and will not be visisble in Sceneline mode. In this case the only solution is to work in Timeline mode. You can right clcik on the empty tracks and select to delete them to tidy up the Timeline view.
Anyway, selecting the correct project preset should solve your problem.

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....

• External hard disk
• USB-memory
And all are connected so that iMovie can find it ?

• Finalizing project - I never do as I never understood the gain to do so
• Share as HD to iDVD - never give any gain but if it works the resulting DVD is less quality than if SD-quality was shared

Newbie question - how to format timeline to not show hours?

Hello - trying out Premiere after giving up on (gasp) iMovie
I make very short videos - from 30+sec to 5 minutes. I don't need the timeline to show so much detail. The hours are meaningless. I also am not yet trying to sync audio with precision I don't need the fractions of seconds.
Can I control that in the display is Premier 2014?

Yes you can controle the timeline but not the way you want.
Its either timecode (more options rightclick on playhead position) or audiounits (1/48000 per second).
Its default set to hours-minutes-seconds-frames.
The more you zoom in on the timeline the more specific it gets.

Final Cut 10.1 does not see my desktop and clips in timeline do not appear in library

Final Cut 10.1.1 does not see my desktop in the import window. Problem is intermittent. Frequent crashes. And clips that are being used in a project do not appear in library browser. Any help?

Final Cut is frequently giving beach ball "program not responding"

In the Devices sidebar, click on your HD; in the import widow, nagigate to Users>your account>Desktop and drag that into the Favorites sidebar.
As to your beachballs and crashes, take a look at these troubleshooting tips.

My .png not showing up in viewer

Hi there,
Images I made in photoshop and saved as .png's can be imported into Premiere, but show up as black/blank when I drag them to the timeline. Scrubbing over them or double clicking on them shows nothing sadly.

PHP icon not showing in design view

I just ordered Studio 8 and currently working on the demo
version of Dreamweaver 8. I had been using FrontPage for many years
and I finally hit it's limitations. I am creating new pages from
scratch and not importing any of my older FrontPage web pages. I am
coding in PHP and noticed this nice php icon that shows in my
design view of where all my php code is. This FrontPage could never
do. I have a table that is doing multiple "include" calls. I am
able to successfully add 2 lines of code, which generates two php
icons in my design view. When I try to add a 3rd line of php code,
it removes all of the nice php icons in the design view. For the
rest of the document, if I add more code, then the icons will not
show up. The PHP is in the code view, but the design view is no
longer showing the php icon. Does anyone have any ideas on how to
make them show up permanently? This is one of many great features
of Dreamweaver that drove me to purchase it.

Movies are in List view and not showing in Movies view

When I down load movies, they are appearing in the List view, but are not showing up in the Movies icon view. How do I fix this? I'm on iTunes 11.01.1

Right mouse click on a Movie and select Get Info
On the options Tab you probably have the value Home Video showing. Change it to Movie and the film will show up in the right place.
It seems that iTunes assigns it to Home Movies when you import it unless it is explicitly tagged as movie or TV show etc
