Pse 8 email contacts

I am using Adobe email services since PSE does not recognize Windows Live Mail -- that seems to work OK. I also import email contacts from v-crds, which appears to work ok;however, the contact list is not being saved and I have to do the process all over every time I start PSE 8. Any suggestions on why the email contacts are not being saved?

What if I don't want to backup, can I not store my contacts locally?
My photos will take more than 2gb, and I am not paying to get more storage.

How to move Preferences and Share Email Contacts?

After a recent total system crash I have had to reinstall my PSE (still 4.0). From an earlier backup of my hard drive I have been able to recover my photos, tags, collections, etc. However, my Preferences, Share>Email>Contacts, (and I know not what else) have been lost during the reinstall. Is there any way that I can recover these, or is it just too complicated?
I still have the removeable hard drive backup of my entire system, (from which I obtained my old PSE catalog and photos); but I have no idea where to find my Preferences, Contacts, etc., and whether it would even be possible to copy them from my old PSE directories and paste them into my new install without corrupting the pointers, indexes, etc.
I would be very grateful for any insights. Thank you very much.

Recovering the preferences should be possible. If you are running Win XP, the respective files are here:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\4.0\Organizer\psa.prf
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\4.0\Editor\Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 prefs.psp
You should first rename the files one your new machine to *.old, then paste the ones from the old machine into their folders. This way, if something goes wrong, you can reverse your actions.
If you are on Win Vista or Win 7, the files should be in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\4.0\... (I think).
I don't have any idea as to if or where the Email contacts are stored.

I have no "Rescue email" contact in order to reset my security questions!! I've been trying now for 4 days to contact Apple/Itunes but I only get sent answers from a support team that say they cannot help me with my problem!!
The thing is that I can't ever remember answering any security questions and without a rescue email, I'm unable to reset them or even set them for the first time!!
I can't believe that no-one from Apple/Itunes can help me with this simple problem but unfortunately that is the case - Incredible, isn't it!!!
Would anyone know how I could solve this problem online??? Because each time I sign into Itunes, the same security questions reappear and reappear and reappear. In fact I've got to the point where I feel like uninstalling Itunes and downloading an alternative.

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; this can be done by clicking here and picking a method, or if your country isn't listed, filling out and submitting this form.
They wouldn't be security questions if they could be bypassed without Apple verifying your identity.

But now, I'd like to set her up on Family Sharing, using that email as her ID. Obviously, when I try to use it when setting up a new apple ID, it says the email is already being used (Yes, by ME) and I need to select a different one. Can I somehow delete that email address in order to set up a new apple ID using it? Or is there another way to "re-use" that address for my child's new ID?

If you attempt to create an Apple ID which is the same as your @icloud email address from the online facility, it does not allow you (can't use an Apple associated email address as your Apple ID). However - if you start a fresh device - such as a new iPhone, iPad (must be mobile it seems), and then create an iCloud account and Apple ID from the prompts when setting up the mobile device, it IS possible to have your Apple ID and @iCloud email address as the same. I know because I just did it!
Unfortunately for me, the result I got above is not for one of my own ID's but a friends, and I would VERY much like to do the same - my current Apple ID is a completely different email address from my iCloud account. Trying to get them the same in my situation is a major bother - I think that if I wipe a device (such as an iPhone5 that is mine) and try to setup as I did my friend's device, then I will get a conflict because the iCloud email I have ALREADY exists. This is my worry and I will not attempt this until I get the new iPad 4 soon to test this.
There is an inconsistency here between the two methods of creating Apple ID's and iCloud accounts.
Overall in my opinion, the Apple ID system as currently available from Apple is not designed very well, and should be addressed.

Since purchasing a new iPhone 5 and macbook pro with retina display I have decided to keep the iPhone 5 for phone contacts only, and the macbook for email contacts only .. Is there a way for me to keep these as they are recorded on each apple product when I sync with iTunes as it has changed my iPhone and put in email contacts and thus deleted iPhone phone contacts once when I syncd thanks appreciate any help

To prevent your iPhone from automatically syncing when you plug it in, click on iTunes in the menu bar, then preferences, then "devices", then tick "prevent iPhones, iPad's and iPod's from syncing automatically".
Plug it in, then on the iPhone sync summary screen, click "info" along the top.
Make sure the "sync contacts" option is not ticked. as long as it's not ticked, then it won't sync with your mac's contacts but will still include them in backups.
Also, if you use iCloud, make sure that the iPhone/mac are either not signed into the same account, or that "contacts" is not turned on for both of them

Please HELP!! I am a new iphone user and I am not understanding all this "icloud" stuff. I have "Contacts" turned off in my phone's icloud settings and on my computer's icloud settings. Sorry I've been out of town. When I go to send an email where it says To: at the end of that line there is a + if I click on it, that brings up my contacts list not my email list. There was a "head" there as well and if I clicked on it then my all my email contact list came up. I had groups and etc so 1 click sent to all of them. This is no longer on my iPhone, just the + sign. That is where I am trying to find my email contacts list at. Does this help any?

FireWire cables are dirt cheap and that's how you should be doing the migration. You might have to start over, wiping the new machine's HD, and restoring the software as described in the Everything Mac manual that came with it. See Best Practices and Setup new Mac for more details.

How can i separate my email contacts from my sim contacts?

First you export your Yahoo contacts.
Actions / Export All, and select: single vCard
Then import the vCards to your Address Book, using File / Import.
Mail will find the addresses in the Address Book, as needed

Actually you can do this. Place your email only contacts in a separate group.
your phone contacts should be in their own group as well.
just leave the contacts list in the phone app showing only the phone contacts group.
you will see a groups button in the upper left corner of the contacts screen.

I have a Verizon iPhone 4s recently upgraded to iOS 7. I'm an IT engineer who's on call and started a new job last week with a company that doesn't provide company phones like a blackberry. So now I get tons of company email alerts, text messages, and phone calls both private and for work. I always have my phone switched to vibrate to filter out the noise of generic emails/texts/phone calls, but I also need to be able to configure specific emails sent from our network monitoring servers, text messages from my teammates and alerting devices, as well as phone calls from our internal tech support to be sent with sound. Ideally I also need to be able to configure alert options in an "On-call" profile I can switch on so that I can configure alert repeats and the most annoying noise I can find so I don't sleep through network pages.. But I still want to be able to keep the default vibrate for everyone else and everything else.. How do I create a custom sound/vibration profile per app, SMS text, phone, or email contact? In blackberry's, you can easily create different profiles to switch back/forth and configure each app/text/phone option to either a sound option or vibrate. iPhone seems to be all vibrate or all sound, with little to no options to mix/match the two.. If Apple ever hopes to truly capture the enterprise market blackberry has, this is the most standard and essential feature on blackberries for IT professionals.. If I have to buy a third-party app for this, so be it. But I've been searching for hours and found nothing that creates customized sound/vibrate profiles for iPhone like this (minus jailbreaking your phone, but I shouldn't have to jailbreak a $699 "smartphone" for simple sound/vibrate/alert options like this..).

As far as I can tell with my iphone what you want to do is not possible. There are sites that tell you how to make different ringtones for the device but your choices to change sounds for email and text/sms messages are controlled unders sounds in the setting menu. Again the manual is on your phone and online if you need assistance changing sounds and ringtones.

When you go to "Report a problem" next to the item (Great Gatsby) on the email invoice or on the online account - it takes you to online support - if you elect problems with iTune downloads the page NEVER opens... no email contact. Please help

This is bad - I have an Apple automated response that they got my report on 12/6, 12/10 and 12/14, and I haven't heard anything from them since the 6th when I got one reply that told me to do things I tried before reporting the problem. Between the 6th and 10th I replied to their response 4 times and they ignored me, forcing me to report a problem with two more items that wont download but getting no response.
How do they get away with this kind of behavior, especially for someone with FIVE Core 2 Duo macs and thousands of dollars of of iTunes store purchases? I'm getting really ******.
