PSE 8 folder location for downloaded actions missing

Trying to download actions for use in PSE 8. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. Adobe help + several websites instruct to download actions to
C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0\Locale\en_US\Workflow Panels\actions
However, this folder does not exist:
Suggestions welcome!!!

You have to tell windows to show hidden files and folders.
Then you should see the program data folder.

  • How to change folder location for Downloads

I want this folder to be on a different hard drive... is there a way?

    RC -R
True, you can copy the download folder's icon by selecting "get info" then clicking the icon, selecting copy, then selecting the target/desired folder for downloads, selecting "get info", clicking once on the icon and selecting paste.
However, this doesn't get you the uber-cool green download arrow in the sidebar.
Leopard really should have a preference in System Preferences for a default Downloads folder location...no matter the drive or location. I too prefer my downloads be directed to a different drive and had manually created "downloads" folders in my sidebars in prior versions of the OS.
As others have commented, the icons in Leopard for the special folders lack differentiation in both color and silhouette/shape, relying on those embossed characters that are a bit too subtle for my tastes...but that's just opinion.
Similarly, Leopard should introduce default browser and media app selection in preferences instead of requiring the launch of Safari or QuickTime etc.. It's an incredibly poor choice to bury preferences with system wide applicability in proprietary apps.

  • Can I set up 2 folder locations for iTunes Media?

I have been searching for a discussion on this topic, but haven't found this particular question, only related ones, so please excuse me if this is a duplicate.
I have two external hard drives. I assigned one as my iTunes Media folder location, and I want the other one to be a backup.
Is there any way to avoid having to figure out every podcast update and make sure its copied onto the backup drive? Is there any way to do this automatically?
It seems to me that if we can designate TWO folder locations, it would work, but not sure that is possible. If not, any other suggestions?

    Thanks, there I have it.
I had hoped Apple had a better solution, and maybe I was overlooking, but I guess the incremental is what I have.
There's recommendations to do automatic full backups after several incremental, and with 3tbs, its not reasonable on my 2007 iMac. It would just bog it down while I'm trying to do multiple things on it already. I'm thinking that I'll just go back to manually do it every few months like I did with my old 750gb drives I had before, and anything of serious value, I'll manually add to backup in interim. I mean, its mostly podcasts and things like that, which need to be replaced on the backup drive, and that won't take as long as backing up the whole drive every so often.
Maybe there's a hybrid version of incremental and manual, but it starts to get into headache territory, so I hope I'm making the right decision. If Mac offered the dual folder drives, that would have been awesome.
Not sure if usb 3 on the drives help, don't think my Mac processes usb 3 speed. The moral of the story is probably to upgrade my system. But it just works so beautifully for everything else I do now, so it seems a bit much to upgrade a system just to make my backups easier. I guess time will tell.

  • What are the PSE 8 default locations for photos and catalog files in Windows 7?

I can only find this information in the Knowlege Base for XP and Vista.
    Thanks for help

The default locations for catalog folders on Wndows 7 is the same as on Vista:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/515/cpsid_51536.html
To find out where the current catalog folder is located, do Help > System Info.
The default locations for photos are under My Pictures on Windows 7, as compared to Pictures on Vista.

  • LOCATION FOR DOWNLOADING DEVELOPER 2000 AND Designer/2000 SOFTWARE

Can u pls. give me the location from where I can download DEVELOPER/2000 AND Designer/2000 SOFTWARE

Designer 2000 can not be downloaded.
Instead you can download the current releases of Designer -
    Designer10g(9.0.4.7) and Designer10gR2(10.1.2.2) from
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/designer/index.html.
This can be a standalone installation but if you are interested in generating Oracle forms/reports from Designer, then you will have to install this on top of the corresponding iDS releases ie iDS 10g(9.0.4) or iDS 10gR2(10.1.2.0.2). iDS can be downloaded from

  • Changing Apple Software Updates download folder location

    Hi,
My C drive is full so my computer won't allow me to update iTunes. I have moved Apple Software Updates (as well as my iTunes and media folders) to my D drive but it still downloads the update files to my C drive which doesn't have room to allow the download to happen. Can anyone tell me how to change the download folder location for ASU?
I'm hoping if I can change the location it will work. Any help or other suggestions would be much appreciated!
    Thank you

    HI,
Saving files to the Desktop can lead to poor performance on your Mac, read here.
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7667118#7667118
If you still want to save files to the Desktop regardless, and you can change the default location in Safari Preferences, then make not of your Safari Preferences and then delete this file.
    com.apple.Safari.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences.
Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac. Try Safari Preferences/Downloads, click "Other" and see if you can navigate to the Desktop.
You would be much better off creating a folder and keeping in your Dock.
*"i want my downloads to go to a folder on my desktop called downloads."*
    Name it anything but Downloads.

  • Multiple iTunes Libraries - Each with a separate Media folder location

I have searched and learned that I can create more than one iTunes library file. I can do this so I can start to separate out my large music collection into more manageable chunks. I have learned that I can switch libraries by holding down the "shift" key while starting iTunes (I'm on Windows, so for me it's the shift key) and selecting or creating a new library. Life is good.
However, it seems that the "Media folder location" is the same for all libraries that I create. I want to have certain files and their associated library files on an external drive, and the rest of my library on my local drive. It doesn't let me do that. When I create a new library, and set it up on my "I" drive, and I change the "Media folder location" to also point to the "I" external drive, it works fine. I rip some music, and it's all good.
However, when I close iTunes and switch back to my original library which stores music on the "C" drive, the media folder location for that library has also been switched to the "I" drive. This is not good. The point of having separate libraries is to be able to manage my music. All of "these songs" go on the external drive, and the library files are also there, but all of "those songs" go on my internal drive, and the library should also be on the internal drive.
Am I missing something obvious, or does it just not work properly? Thanks.

I came across this thread and wanted to add my observations.  I'm not experiencing the problem noted here.  It works fine.  Note that I've just updated to iTunes 10.5 today, but I haven't used my multiple libraries in a few months, so I don't know if my lack of a problem is because of this (or a prior) update to iTunes.
I use two libraries.  One media folder is on my D:\ drive, and the other, for storing music in a lossless format, is on my external H:\ drive.  The library files, however, are both on my C:\ drive.  (C and D are partitions of the hard drive in my desktop PC.)   The first library file is under My Documents\My Music\iTunes\ and the second one for my lossless music is at My Documents\My Music\iTunes Lossless Library\.  (This works great because when I hold shift and open iTunes, the Open iTunes Library window appears, and I just navigate up one level, pick either the \iTunes or the \iTunes Lossless Library folder, and choose the library file therein.)
Tonight I copied the lossless media folder to a new, larger external drive.  I then relabeled the old external drive as P: and labeled the new external drive as H:.  I then deleted the lossless files from the old drive (now labeled P:).  When I first opened my lossless library in iTunes, I could see all of my lossless files which are stored on the new drive (, i.e., the new H:).  But when I went to Edit>Preferences>Advanced, the iTunes media folder location showed the D: drive media folder.  Uh oh.  Looking for help, I came and read this thread.  Althought it left me expecting the worst, I just went ahead and changed the media folder location for my lossless music to the H: drive folder, closed iTunes, went back in, and the change stuck.  I opened the other library, went back and forth a few times, and each shows its correct media folder location.  So maybe this problem was fixed by Apple with an iTunes update, or maybe it's because I keep both libraries on my C: drive instead of on the separate drives where the files are located.  I have no idea, but I just wanted to share my observations in case it helps someone else.

  • Disk for downloading is full

I cannot download a movie I rented. It says The disk I am using is full. How do I fix this so I can continue to download?

Sounds as though your computer's hard drive is full.
First, check which hard drive iTunes downloads to:
-Click Edit and go to Preferences
    -Click the Advanced tab
-Check the first letter of the iTunes music folder location (for example, C: )
Then, check the status of the hard drive
-Click 'Start' and go to My Computer
-Right-click your hard drive and choose Properties
-This window shows you how much space is on your computer
If your hard drive is full, you won't be able to download any more to it until you clean up some files and make some room on there. You might consider Microsoft's Disk Cleanup tool:

  • Network Drive/Cover Art/Music Folder Location

    Hello,
On my work PC, I have used a network drive for my iTunes music folder location. We have a 'jukebox' of sorts that multiple people can access. The connection to this drive is not so hot (i.e., it's a bit slow), but it has always been sufficient to listen to music, as the transmission rate is usually faster than the length of any given song.
Now that 7.0 & coverart has come out, the network drive is no longer viable. The coverart stutters, and accessibility is just too painful.
So, I have moved my music to a local drive & removed all the connections to the remote music.
I remember reading somewhere (although I can't remember where) that iTunes now monitors more than one music folder location for changes to the contents. This is a nice feature, but I suspect it's continuing to monitor this network drive, so that even though I moved all my music, everything remains slow.
I've done everything I can think of to try to fix this; I've uninstalled & re-installed iTunes. I've scanned the registry for instances of iTunes trying to figure out where it might store the memory of this network drive. I've deleted references to the network drive from my machine (it's not a mapped drive however; it's just a \\000.00.00.000\mp3 path). I've disconnected the network cable to see if it will 'forget'. I've deleted iTunes Library.itl and iTunes Music Library.xml, along with the Album Artwork folder, and rebuilt each of them. Nothing has worked.
My machine was specifically built for video and graphic editing; I am positive that this is not an issue with video drivers or memory or anything like that. It has a gig of memory, a P4 hyperthreading processor, etc. There are only currently 319 tunes in my library. Sheer volume should not be slowing me down. My 3-year-old laptop at home has half the memory and 15x as many tunes, and it works flawlessly.
So - after this longwinded explanation - I am looking for suggestions for the following:
Am I correct in the "remembering the folders" theory? Is my machine indeed continuing to ping this network drive? If so, how can I make it stop?
Alternatively, is there a procedure to completely wipe all traces of iTunes from my machine, short of re-installing XP? Even after uninstall there were many, many references to the application in my registry, along with the library files and such.
My goal is to get the performance of iTunes & coverart to a reasonable level. Right now it's running like a goat, as if I had a x386 processor with 32M of RAM.
    Thanks,
    Mike

I have resolved the problem with the slow coverflow. I had to re-install and update my nVidia driver (thought I was gonna lose the PC there for a minute...it was hairy...).
    Anyway...problem solved.
    tks for reading,
    -Mike

  • Multiple itunes music folder locations

    Guys,
Does anyone know if it is possible to have multiple itunes music folder locations for itunes?
I am quickly running out of space on my macbook pro and would like to move my less used music and movies to a separate external drive whilst leaving my most popular stuff on the macbook pro.
    Cheers
    Kegan

I have these exact same questions as the user above, but for a different reason. I want to have two different locations for my iTunes Music folder. One on my laptop for recent music (so I have it when I travel) and another "archive library" on the Time Capsule for the remainder of my music (accessible only over my wireless LAN when at home).
I have gone through the "hold the option key" process to create a second "library" on the Time Capsule, but it still references the same iTunes folder location. Of course, I could relocate the entire iTunes Music folder to the Time Capsule and re-reference it in Preferences->Advanced, but then I wouldn't have access to my recent songs when traveling.
Then, there's the whole question of how to transfer songs between folders (when my "recent" folder gets to large and I need to archive), but maybe I'm getting ahead of myself.
    Thanks,
    John Mac

  • Updating to latest cloud resets "Folder Location"

I updated to the latest version of creative cloud on my Windows 7 PC yesterday and just discovered it reset the Folder Location for synced files from my custom directory to the default location. I haven't lost any work but the time it's taking to move things back is very annoying and making work difficult. Dev team may want to look at this problem for future releases and anyone about to update bare in mind this may happen to you.

This is the second time it happened to me. This time I was prepared and was ready to halt it immediately but the folder location reset happens and file sync begins before the settings to change the folder location are available to change. I, like a great many people, use an SSD for my operating system and having all our Creative Cloud files located on the same drive is impractical.
The last time this happened I halted it halfway through the transfer and changed the folder location back to the one I had chosen. It then determined that the half-finished transfer on my C: drive was the most recently updated version and so used that, clearing out the initial directory. I spent a full day recovering files from the archive.
This time, it has renamed my existing folder with "(unknown)" at the end. At least it didn't delete it all over again.

  • HELP! - iTunes 7 Multiple Libraries - iTunes Music Folder Location

I've created two libraries with the new multiple libraries feature on iTunes 7, but it appears that there is no way to choose separate folder locations for each of the libraries. I tried to do this and ended up with all of my songs in one folder, which is what I don't want. I would like to have would like to have two libraries, one for regular music and one for Christmas music, and I would like to choose a separate location/folder for each library. I keep all of my music on an external hard drive - I don't have enough room on my internal hard drive. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?

Shift key thing is cool. But I agree, why not let us switch while in program. Itunes Library manager seems to be a better bet still and keeps hard drive clean.
    http://www.dougscripts.com/itunes/itinfo/ituneslibrarymanager.php
I use this to keep sound effects and music in two libraries and it works great.

I have tried a few things but iTunes closes right after i click okay. Anyone know anything?

Look in your Home > Music folder.  There should be an iTunes folder there and it should have a number of files and folders including one called library.itl  You want to guide iTunes to that file.  If you don't see that file or folder then in your next post you will have to be very specific as to what you do see or how you have your iTunes set up because that's where it should be according to default settings.
