PSE 8 Names vs Tags

I am using PSE 8 and have several people tags. When I do a face recognition and "name" a person, is that somehow connected to the name tag (if they are the same)?
I've been syncing my catalog with photoshop.com. I can have 8 copies of the same tag with a photo.
Finally, when I do face recognition, one of my daughters is never identified. The program always asks "Who is this?" and never includes her name in the 3 suggestions.
Thanks for any help.

In Find People For Tagging, when you type in the name of an existing tag or type in a new name (which creates a new People tag), that tag becomes associated with that face.  PSE looks at all the previous faces associated with each of the tags when trying to identify a new face.

There is at least one thread on the Adobe Photoshop.com forum discussing that bug.  You might check it out.  Adobe employees post regularly on that forum.

The face recognition isn't perfect.  You can always type the name of an existing tag in the "Who is this" box, even if it isn't one of the three suggestions.

  • How to get the name of tag or variable

    Hi everyone,
I am a newbie, I have problem on getting the name or tag of the variable from OLE for Processing Control(OPC) server, could anyone tell me how I can get the name of tag or variable from writting vb codes or please direct me to any helpful information. Here are
    my codes,
    Dim ItemsDef(NBR_ITEMS) As String
    Dim DeviceAddress As String
    Dim IndItem As Long
    DeviceAddress = "MBT:152.160.178.60"
    'Preparing the Handles for "AddItems"
    For IndItem = 1 To NBR_ITEMS
ItemsDef(IndItem) = DeviceAddress & "!40000" & Format(IndItem) '40000 is the memory location of variable in the OPC, how can I get the variable name, what is the code or syntax?
    Next
    blah...
    Thank you,
    Calvin

    Hi Calvin,
If you are looking for general information and examples about OPC, then we have lots of places for you to browse!
Here is a small list, and you can probably find other links within these documents:
**If you have Measurement Studio from National Instruments, then you can look at the "Measurement Studio Reference" help file. Search for OPC and in the overview you will find the methods for accessing the items on an OPC server.
**Elsewhere in the help file, you can find a link to this Application Note on our developer zone
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/devzoneweb.nsf/opendoc?openagent&F4921B34CA8F4A9786256874005BE3F7&cat=7CDA3E51FEFC4AA2862568B80071A1E2
    **One more resource is http://www.ni.com/opc
**Probably the most useful will be the examples yo
u can find on our web site. You can go to http://www.ni.com/support and in Option 3 search the Example Code database for "opc".
In the first example program (Controlling OPC Servers with the OPC Automation API in Visual Basic) that you should get when searching for "opc" in the example programs database, look for the line with this code: "browser.GetItemID(leaf)". There you can see the way the program creates an OPCBrowser from the server instance, and then gets the servers available items for use by the client. This sounds like the specific information you are looking for with the variable name.
If you aren't able to find out your answer here or in the various help resources, then please feel free to contact us at National Instruments at http://www.ni.com/ask

  • Printing my PDF with File name and Tags Stamped on

    To Forum,
Possibly not a completely Apple related query, but if anyone know it would be great.
id like to print a PDF on my MBP with the File name and Tags applied to it stamped on the paper copy... or come to think of it, stamped on the PDF copy which i then print out with those stamps on. Either way will do. Any ideas? Its not immediately obvious when i look at the Printing Prefs box.

This is an option built into various apps - Safari, Firefox, Microsoft Office.
There are "PDF Utils" that do this on PDFs one at a time. Can't find a specific one for Macs, but found 2 for Windows.

  • How do I get PSE to read tag info on updated jpg files?

Using PSE9 on 2 PCs. Files are stored locally on each, and updates synced via Windows Mesh.
    Use case issue:
    1) Add tag to jpg on PC1 using PSE.
    2) Execute PSE "write to file" command before closing app
    3) Confirm on PC2 via Windows Explorer that tag info is updated on local file
    4) Open PSE on PC2, bur additional tag info is not recognized by PSE.
    5) Tried to re-import test files in PSE using "Get Files" function, but tag data was still not read by PSE.
    6) Manually added new tag to tag list, reloaded PSE, but new tag info still not read on file.
    7) Ran Optimize and Repair catalog functions, but problem persisits.
How do I get PSE to read tag info on updated jpg files without rebuilding the entire catalog every time I edit a file?

    Simple : you can't.
Why ? Because the tags are stored in the database of the catalog. When you 'write' metadata to files, you can see it does work. The new tags are written to the files. But the new tags are ignored by the catalog in the second computer. You'd have to delete the file entry from the catalog and reimport it, supposing the tag is already in the tag list. Otherwise the tag would appear in the 'imported tags' category.
The Organizer is not meant to be a multi-user database.
What you can do to share media and catalogs between two computers having the same Elements version is to store the media files and the catalog on an external drive you can plug to each computer when needed. Note that the drives should be recognized with the same drive letter.

  • ZEN X-Fi 2 does not read in numbers if used as Artist name's tag?

    Dear Creative labs,
I have got an artist named 3 so when I import his CD into my ZEN X-Fi 2 the artist name tag is not recognized and it falls under Unknown Artist. When I change the tag into the spelling Tre (Italian for 3) the name is correctly imported.
May I conclude that the firmware does not recognize number if used as Artist name's tag? is there any way to fix it's
    regards
    Pasquale

    Hi,
I tried it myself and I get the same result. I changed the Artist's name of a random album to "3" and it got listed as "Unknown Artist" in the player.
Surprizingly it did work when I changed it to "33". It got listed on top of the Artist list as it should.
I guess this is a firmware bug. I'm using version .2.08 so I hope this will be added to the to-fix list for the next firmware update. (I know the newest version is .20.08 but that version only adds support for the 64GB model.)
    Nice catch Pasquale !

  • Group Custom Name keyword tag - Mac PSE10

Under the preferences tab for camera or card reader I see a checkbox which i have selected for Make "Group Custom Name" keyword tag.  How is this feature accessed to modify this and use this tag?  I cannot find the specific field. Will it show up in the Organizer on the right side with the keyword tags?  What do the users find this feature most useful for?  Thanks in advance.

  • PSE 11 - People tags showing as groups

    Hi,
I've upgraded from PSE 6 to PSE 11. My people tags have carried over, but are not showing properly in the "People" view.
All my people tags are still present on the pictures and I can search using them by selecting "Advanced Search" in the media view. However, when I go to the People view, the only stacks I see are ones I have created in PSE 11 that were not tagged in my previous version. The names of all my previously tagged people only show when I click to view "Groups". Clicking on the name in "Groups" simply leads to the message "No people exist in this group" - even though the tag clearly shows on the images in the Media view.
Is there any way to convert the people listed as groups back to people tags that will be recognised by PSE? Even when I run the facial recognition software and tag people here, they still do not show up in the People view if they were previously tagged in PSE 6.
    Thanks.

There is no conversion process because the people module is new to PSE11.
Importing from earlier versions simply brings in key words.
You need to decide if you want to stick with your key words and get this:
Or fully use the new feature and get suggested people stacks:

I have not seen anything definative on what the difference between the Generic and Custom WSDL's are.
I believe the Custom WSDL is a sub-set of the most commonly asked for fields while the Generic WSDL is everything under the sun.

  • Which meta name="viewport" tag best used for Mac/Safari iPhone?

My test page URL using auto generated tag is: http://02ca0d2.netsolhost.com/action_appliance_02/index.html
Received suggestion as a result of posting question on the PVII forum, and included in the response was the suggestion that the DW CS6 automatically generates would be best changed to another, as follows:
    DW CS6 tag:  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
The preferred tag for responsive pages suggested alternative was:
    Suggested alternative:  <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width">
Can both be used in some way without conflict, or which one would be best, if indeed there is a preference or desired "best practice" across the broadest spectrum of available devices being in common use?
Again, this seems applicable to iPhones, and Safari, and as I'm Mac/Safari oriented, this opened another door in responsive design of which I am absorbing; or trying to understand.
I did research the following link but remain unable to make a decision at this juncture.

The second version is considered to be preferable, although there's not much to choose between them. The important element is setting width to device-width. Without it, most smartphones will scale the page to fit into a nominal viewport approximately 960px wide.
By the way, there's nothing wrong with working on a specific operating system, but don't become blinkered by your Mac/Safari preference. It's the World Wide Web, not the Mac/Safari Web.

  • Viewing names of tagged faces

I know how to identify people in photos using either the manual or face
recognition process. But, how do I turn on a mode that will display the little boxes around faces with the names of the people in the pictures? I know I can do so by going back to the "FInd People for Tagging" dialog, but this is clumsy...I just want to be able to display the tags, not edit them.

I guess you want to view the face labels while you are in single image view mode. Actually you cann't view these in this mode.
But when you increase the thumb size to the point just before the single image view, you would be able to view the face labels.

    Hi,
That is not possible. If you decide to give it try, you can modify the script in whthost.js but be advised that requires quite a bit of JavaScript expertise.

  • PSE 13 Orte Tags nicht verschiebbar

    Hallo,
    Danke -Six-

  • Assign ID as NAME in tag editor?

    Greetings,
Just curious to know if there's a way to make DW 2004MX
automatically output an id that is the same as the name that I
enter when I use the tag editor to create tags? What I'm after is:
    1. Click the tag I want from the toolbar at the top of the
    screen.
    2. Fill in some details, including a name for the form
    element.
    3. Automatically have the name I entered output as the ID of
the element as well, rather than having to type it into the tag
editor after I've just typed the name in.

I spend about 75% of my time in Design view, but I have
    learned the
efficient way of doing things. Tag editor gives fine control
    over each
attribute, which is normally what Code view denizens want.
And yes, DW8 is the same. If you don't like it, or have

  • The "a name" html tag does not work in Firefox.

The tag works in all versions of Internet Explorer, but does not work in Firefox versions 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12.

I haven't noticed any problems on most pages, but I have read about a problem where a script changes the length of the page content after loading (e.g., by collapsing content under headings, done on some FAQ or glossary pages).
For example, this should position the browser at the Reset Printer section:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages#Reset_printer
A standard diagnostic step is to try Firefox's Safe Mode to see whether an odd behavior is caused by a custom setting or add-on.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [[Backing up your information]]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
Next, restart Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
In the Safe Mode dialog, do not check any boxes, just click "Continue in Safe Mode."
If links work correctly in Safe Mode, that usually points to an add-on or custom setting as the problem.
Let us know whether that makes any difference.
