PSE 9.0.1 Runtime Error in Organizer

Good Day All,
I am running Windows XP Pro. Recently instlled PSE 9 and I cannot get the organizer to launch. The editor seems to work okay but every time I try and launch the organizer I get the following.
Is there a solution set? While I see many similar complaints, I cannot seem to find a viable fix on the forum. I am also dismayed I have not encountered any dialogue from Adobe regarding the issue. What's going on --- can anybody clue me in?
Regards,
ceds549

Hello Trena,
OK, well, that's not a conclusive test. Let's try doing this manually. Do you know the name of your catalog? If you don't, you are likely using the default "My Catalog". What we want to try is to prevent the Organizer from using your catalog. To do this go to the following directory:
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs
Win Vista/7: C:\Program Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs
There will be a folder with the name of your catalog. Rename that folder. For example, if the catalog you are using is "My Catalogy" rename it to "Old Catalog". We can rename it back later if we want. Now try to launch the Organizer. If things are working correctly, then you should be prompted with the fact that your catalog could not be found and offer to let you create a new one. We want that choice, give it any name ("asdf" is what I tend to use in these situations). If that works we know it's your catalog and we will want to attempt to repair it. From the File menu, choose Catalog. You will see your renamed catalog at the bottom (from the example, you would see "Old Catalog" listed). Click the name to highlight it then click the Repair button on the right. Even if you are told there wasn't any damage, choose to repair anyway.
Let me know if this works or not. If not, I'm not out of ideas yet.

  • PSE 5 Runtime Error Launching Organizer

WHen I connect my camera and it automatically launches the Organizer, it tries to start for a minute or more and then I get a microsoft error "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library (Not Responding)" "THis application has requested the Runtime to terminate in and unusual way."  And it freezes.
For years, this organizer has worked flawlessly but one day the PC crashed or ran out of battery when PSE organizer was launching and it hasn't worked since.  I have tried several times to remove the entire program and re-install it but I still get the same error.  What can I do?  I don't want to upgrade if I will just get the smae problem.

Please go to %appdata%\adobe\elements organizer\5.0\organizer and delete psa.prf ans status.dat files. I'm not sure if these used to exist for PSE5 since i don't have PSE5.
Another thing to try is launch organizer keeping Shift key pressed and create a new catalog. This might help you t atleast get started with organizer if its only the old catalog that got affected due to abrupt shut down.
    Thanks

  • Runtime Error - PSE 10

Have lost connection with PSE 10 on Windows 8. Was working fine. I was simply moving a photo within an album and connection lost. No shows - 'Runtime Error - this application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way - contact the support team'. Can anyone advise please?

I am running 9 on xp but i just went through that same issue with the dreaded application call error, if it's saying c++ is choking then you have a major problem and you wont like the solution.
you can google elements c++ error or what ever error you are getting and see a number of issues and an equal number of solutions and failures.
suggest you download some alternate photo finder viewer mover and put all your images and what ever side car files you can find onto a separate drive for safe keeping
then uninstall and reinstall the program - i would use something like revo so you get all the registry entries.
that may or may not work.
you may try a system reset to an earlier date via windows if you have been making setpoints on installs but only after you have moved all your pictures, failing to do so may result in losing everything.
you can try stripping out command lines in msconfig to see if some thing is stopping it - dicey at best
i messed with it for days to no avail but fortunately I have a back up program which allowed me to do a complete system restore and i got the program working again, all other options did not work for me
i still have no clue why or what hoses the dll files but i suspect it was my last install of the raw or dng convertor.
if you do get it running do a back up before you install anything on your system be it a plugin oranother program because invariably something is going to make a mess of windows and more specifically elements
i never use the organizer in 9 as from what i have read it is not viable.
    good luck

  • PRE 9 Organizer Runtime Error - Solution?

I was getting "Runtime Error" when I clicked the Organize button in my licensed PRE 9 (and also PSE 9).  I uninstalled and tried to reinstalled both. Then the programs wouldn't even install. I got an error saying it couldn't open the installation log file.  On the second chat session the agent had me delete everything in the Temp file.  To find this file on your system go to the search box and enter %temp%.  The agent then had me reinstall the programs right at C:\ rather than under the more usual "C:\Program Files\Adobe\something".  Everything (PSE 9 and PRE 9) seems to be working now.  I have my fingers crossed.

It's great to hear success stories, tj! Happy moviemaking!

When I start PSE 9 organizer I get an error message: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way...  I reinstalled PSE 9 but got the same message.

  • I loaded actions into my PSE 10, then when I restarted my PC (windows 7) and PSE 10 I got a Runtime Error (Microsoft Visual C    Runtime Library)

I loaded actions into my PSE 10, then when I restarted my PC (windows 7) and PSE 10 I got a Runtime Error (Microsoft Visual C    Runtime Library)

Are these actions you put into the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Photo Creations\photo effects folder?
If so, did you delete both the
    ThumbDatabase.db3  in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0
    and
    MediaDatabase.db3 in C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\10.0\Locale\en_us
    after installing the actions?
Then let the pse 10 editor run for about 10 to 20 minutes to rebuild the effects database.

  • R6025 Runtime Error when starting Photoshop Elements Organizer 12

I installed Photoshop Elements 12 a couple of weeks ago.  When I run the Photo Editor, everything is fine.  But when I try to run the Organizer, I get the Microsoft Visuall C++ Runtime Library dialog that specifies a Runtime Error! for Program: C:\Program Files (x86)... with error code R6025 - pure virtual function call.
My PC is a 64bit Windows 7 Machine with SP1.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

I tried the first solution listed and that did not help.  Part of the 2nd solution was to create a new user on the PC and uninstall/reinstall the software using the new user account.  I did this and I no longer get the R6025 error.  Now I get a R6034 error when I open the Organizer.
Any ideas on the R6034 error?

  • Runtime Error in PSE 9 Editor

When I attempt to access the editor in PSE9 either directly or from the organizer I get the following message:
    "Runtime Error!
    Program:...s\Adobe\PhotoshopElements9\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe
This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way."
Uninstalling and reinstalling PSE9 has no effect on this error.

    Oh, great...an "unknown" faulting module!
There's not a lot to go on, so I can only offer a couple of general troubleshooting suggestions:
Re-set the Editor's Preferences by holding down your Ctrl+Alt+Shift keys when launching the Editor and keep them held down until you see the prompt asking if you want to delete the Preferences.  Answer "Yes" and they will be re-built.  You may have to minimize any open windows in order to see that prompt.
If you have manually enabled the TWAIN interface for scanning, see this Adobe document:

  • PSE 7 runtime error

Hi, I'm trying to resolve an issue with PSE 7 installed on a Secondary School network.
The program runs fine when logged in to a PC as a local or Domain Administrator but crashes when logged in as a student if you select "edit" from the opening screen ("create" works OK!)
The error message is "Visual C++ runtime error!" followed by "the exception unknown software exception (0xc000000d) occurred in the application at location 0x78138aa0" if you click Ok on the first message.
I've already found several references to this error message on the forums and on the web and have followed all the Adobe troubleshooting procedures, knowledge base articles etc. but to no avail - I don't think it's a problem with the program itself so much as with the security settings applied to the PC's for "student" users, who all share the same Mandatory Profile.
I can modify the Mandatory profile or the local security settings of the PC's within reason, but my real problem is that I can't identify the restriction that's responsible for causing the error message in the first place!
    Any suggestions welcomed!

I have been running elements 12 for a few months now....today when I tried to open the editor I get " Visual C  C  runtime error. I can open the organizer but not the editor

I'm keen to know if you get a response to this.  I've been running Elements 12 for a year now, and suddenly my Editor is not working.  I'm running Windows 8.1 and just get a message that says "The Editor is not working".    Not very helpful.

  • I receive a Runtime Error when trying to go from Organizer to Editor. It reads:  Microsoft Visual C   Runtime Error....Runtime Error....Program c:/ (x....

When trying to go from Organizer to Editor, I receive a Ryntime Error.  It reads: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error.    Runrime Error  Program c:\(x....

I kept getting the same error message too! Thank goodness I'm not alone in this!

  • Problem opening elements 9 organizer..it says "Runtime Error!" . How do you overcome?

On going problem. When I try to go to "Organize" in Elements 9 I get a window saying:
    Microsoft Visual C++Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:/Program File...
The application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
Is this an Adobe Elements problem..or a windows problem ? I don't seem to find anything that will tell me what causes this, and more importantly, what to do about it.
    Thanks for your input

  • PSE 10 Runtime error

Photoshop Elements 10 working fine but suddenly came up with Runtime error saying the 'application had requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way'. Suggests 'contact the applications support team for more information'. Can anyone help?
(thread title edited by forum host)

If you are facing the issue on the editor try to reset the prefernces of the editor.
To do so, close PSE first if its open and before relaunching
Hold down the Alt + Ctrl + Shift(Windows) Opt + Cmd + Shift(Mac) keys as you click on the icon to open Elements. When asked if you want to delete the settings file, say yes.
    Reset the preferences as above.
Close Elements and Relaunch it again.
Check is the error coming again or not.

  • PSE 5  program error + runtime error R6025

I've had PSE 5 installed for abt a yr on Windows XP SP3 and was working fine till abt 3 weeks ago when it went buggy.  I get "could not complete your request because of a program error" even with simple tasks such as opening a file.  I also often get a "Runtime Error! Program: Adobe/Photoshop Elements 5.0/PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe R6025 -pure virtual function call"   I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, trying to delete relevant folders, but am having the same problem.  I am not sure abt the procedure for a clean reinstall, if that's what necessary, I may have neglected to delete sth essential when I reinstalled.  Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any help with this problem. Thanks!

The first thing to do reset your application preference files and see if that cures the problem. (If the preferences are corrupt, a reinstall of the program will not fix them as they are stored outside of the program folder.)
Adobe tech doc on runtime errors:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403090.html
If the above doesn't do the trick:
You might have an incompatibility issue or version conflict somewhere...
    Potential culprits:
Right before this started occurring did you install a new filter or a filter trial?
Did you point you plug in folder in Elements to another version of Elements or Photoshop?
Did you install a version of Camera Raw that isn't compatible with your version?
Google this phrase: Photoshop R6025 pure virtual function call and/or Photoshop Elements R6025 pure virtual function call. Maybe, you'll see something that rings a bell.

Hello, when I double click on my PSE 8 Desktop Icon it starts to load and then a couple seconds later the R6034 Runtime Error message below pops up.
