PSE 9 Organizer Folders for New Computer Old Catalog

I have my image files and catalog on an external SSD that is always mapped to the same drive letter on my laptop. I recently bought a new laptop and installed PSE 9 on it. When I open my catalog on the SSD that is mapped to the same drive letter all is well. However, my old computer had a D drive but this new one does not. when I show the Folders view it is still showing the old D drive. So, I guess this old drive mapping is stored in the catalog. How do I reset all this so it matches my new PC?
I don't have a problem with all my image files because the location is to the same drive mapping. The image locations and the catalog are still linked. The folder view of my old PC is still there but no longer valid.

Then your problem is solved! Your D: drive should be showing in the Organizer as a drive because your optical drive D: does exist. (My DVD drive E: shows up, even when empty.)

It's a different paradigm, since Windows Explorer is a file browser while Organizer is a database program (a file cataloguer).

P.S.: Since you seem to be using tags very well, you might consider saving yourself some work by not organizing your photos into folders. With a database program like Organizer, the physical location of the photos is completely irrelevant -- the important thing is the searches. If you find (no pun intended ) that you always look for files using their tags and not by browsing through folders, why bother with folders at all? Just a thought....

PSE 9 Organizer; cannot add new items to catalog, do I need to rebuild it?

I'm using Photoshop Elements 9, running on Windows 7.
And PSE9 says it is updated to the latest version.
I have about 35000 images, using about 89 G. And I have about 160 Gb space left on the hard drive.
(I'm using a Swedish version, so I might not be using the correct English terminology everywhere.)
I have been using PSE 9 for a couple of years, and suddenly I have problems with the catalog.
1) When I've edited an image, (.jpg) in Photoshop elements, and saved it, using the "save in version set with original" option,
I don't see the edited version in the catalog. But, looking in the file system, the saved file is there.
2) When I try to import new images, (.jpg), using Import from files and folders, it first tries, then I get a Popup message saying: Nothing was imported. The files or folders marked for import contains files with unsupported formats, or, the files already exist in the catalog." My files are .jpg as I've been using all the time, and they definitely don't exist in the catalog.
My conclusion is that maybe the catalog has become corrupted. I do remember there was a time when my computer was bogged down for some reason, and PSE9 was extremely slow, maybe I interrupted something in the middle, or something, but I'm not sure. That might have been when the corruption happened, but this, is just guesswork.
Anyway, I have tried to Optimize the catalog, and then repair it, as suggested as a workaround for this kind of problem. And that, rebuilt the index, which took some hours.
But this, did not solve the issue. I still have the same problems.
So now what to do. According to the Help information on this site, the next step is to create a new catalog and reimport all the images.
So here comes my questions:
1) Could there be other solutions? (I assume not.)
2) Could the problem be something else? (I don't want to do the work of reimporting everything to a new catalog, to find it does not solve the problem).
I was a little worried about the size of the catalog, but I see nowhere a limitation to the catalog size or number of images in it. I was also a little worried if this could be related to some computer performance issue. But, the machine works nice and clean now.
3) When recreating the catalog, is there any way of preserving the tags, and version sets? In case not; is there any way of telling PSE9 to treat a certain file naming convention as version sets? such as myImage.jpg and myImage_edited-1.jpg?

Here is a short script which may help.
Replace the pop-up item by a text one and edit the property myList in my script to fit your needs.
Select the field to fill and run the script.
Then choose an item in the displaid list. It will be pasted in the selected field.
This trick would give you to work with a "no limit" list of items.

From your OLD computer...
Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

PSE 5 When installing on a new computer, old tags are lost

We have just purchased and installed PSE 5.0 on a new computer (runing Windows 7). Only a small percentage of the tags added to photos on the former computer were transferred with the new install. I assume the tags attached in PSE should be written to the actual image files and show up under Properties --> Tags on the image file. And then when the new install of Photoshop imports these photos, the tag information should be recognized and imported. But as I said, this happened with a small percentage of photos (less than 10%). When I look at the majority of photos in their Windows folder, they do not have any tags attached in Properties. Yet, they were all tagged within PSE on the old computer. What happened and what to do?

I guess I just figured this out myself after a little more searching. I wasn't aware that we need to click on "Write Tag and Properties Info to Photos" under file.

Adobe is a company... what does "Adobe 10" and "Adobe 7" mean?
If you bought those on disc I don't think they are part of the Cloud
The serial number is usually on a sticker on the disc holder inside the box
If you lost your serial number check https://www.adobe.com/account.html for your registered products
When you figure out what programs you have, you might check the specific forums

You will be able to select a forum for the specific Adobe product(s) you use

It sounds like you are getting an error stating that the iTunes installer cannot be run on your computer. I would try downloading the 64 bit version of iTunes from here:

If issues persist when trying to install it, I would try running through the steps in the article named:

Make sure that you choose Mail>View>Show Mailbox List, then hover your cursor over one of the subordinate mailbox categories, and you should see "Show." Next click on "Show."

The ipod is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything on your new computer.

Audiobooks are a one-time only download from the store, so you won't be able to redownload them via the Purchased link. Do you have a copy of them on your iPod or on your backup of your downloads/library ?
