PSE 9 - Printing only center of image

Hi - I am having a problem with printing a few jpegs in PSE 9.  I'm actually trying to use a virtual pdf "printer" to convert a jpeg to a pdf (I'm trying to ultimately merge several jpegs into a final pdf file so I want to convert the jpegs and use a third party software to do the merge).  The jpeg I'm trying to convert is larger (dimensions wise) so I resized it so it would fit on a normal piece of paper.  However, when I go to "print", only the center of the image is printed, despite the fact that the preview looks fine and "Crop to fit" is unchecked.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Did you specify the correct paper size in the print dialog?  Otherwise, I don't know about the sizing problem.
You don't have to print to a virtual printer to get a .pdf file.  You can use Save As... and select PDF.

  • Word document print preview shows entire pasted image, but prints only part of image

I just bought a new HP 8620.  When doing a copy and paste into Word, everything is shown in the print preview.  However, part of the image, usually the bottom, is not printed.

    Hi nedamirakl,
    Thank you for your response!
If you copy a photo, does it print the whole picture? Copy Text or Mixed Documents.
After some further searching, I would recommend to try the shrink to fit option in Word, Shrink to Fit in Word 2010 and Word 2013.
If that does not work, please try the following:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Re-install the software using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
Hope this helps, and have a nice day!

  • PSE 8 - Can I reposition an image on a page for printing?

I am learning how to print photos using PSE 8 on a Mac running 10.6.4. In PSE 2, when printing I was able to slide a photo around on a page and reposition it for printing. (I could then print the photo on top of the page and then reinsert the paper into the printer and print on the bottom half too.) Is there a way to move a photo around on a page for printing in PSE 8 on a Mac? In PSE 8 Help, under Printing and Sharing Photos > Print Photos > Reposition an Image, it says you can: Choose File > Print and then use "the panning operation" to reposition the image, but I don't know what the "panning operation" is. All I see is an immovable box with the photo inside it. I can move the photo around in the box, but the box does not move with it, so no matter what, the photo (or a part of it) is going to print in the middle of the page it seems. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Try resizing the image before you go into the print dialog.  Then, once you are in the print dialog, uncheck Center Image and you should be able to move it anywhere on the sheet.

  • How to I print a center footer which includes the word "Page" as part of the Page # of #?

I want to print out multiple pages when I go to a specific URL and I want to also print a custom center footer which actually prints out the word Page as part of the Page # of #, normally if you choose the specific Page # of # you only get printed out as an example 1 of 2, it does not cause the word Page to be included in the printout?

    Hi Nes,
This is the second time you are posting a variation on this question.
I was about to so NO YOU CAN'T...
    but then I thought...
It is possible to print just parts of a front panel but it is a lot easier to do the things others have suggested.
If you really want to print just a part of the FP you will have to do a lot of coding and the GUI will do some strange things in the process.
I will outline the process and leave the code as an exercise for the reader.
Using property nodes determine where on the FP the objects of interest are located.
Again using property nodes, move the objects around on the FP so that they are grouped together and sized such they fit on a printed page.
Using property nodes adjust the screen size origin etc so only
the objects of interest are now visable.
Using.....nodes print only the visable part of the screen.
Using....nodes put everything back where is was when you started!
Like I said, this is not easy.
The simplest solution was suggested by BJD who said group the objects of interest on a tab page, use an invoke node to get the image and then display it on the FP of a sub-VI set to print on completion. That method will let you quickly add new interesting objects to the print out without having to change the sub-VI.

    Try one of these:
1/ In Adobe, deselect "Choose Paper based on PDF size" - you can leave the "Auto Rotate and Center" on.
2/ In Adobe, go into Advanced and choose "Print as Image".
3/ If this is a Canon H1 Fiery RIP, go into Printer Properties, Printing Preferences, Layout, Rotate 180degrees and choose "Large Paper Only."

  • Any way to print off-center?

Since Aperture centers the image on the paper, not within the printer's usable print area, it won't produce a 12x18 print on 13x19 paper on my Epson 4000, because the 4000 has a minimum bottom margin of 0.556". Aperture sets that as the minimum margin on all sides and so prints only 17.88" wide. In Photoshop, I can center the 12x18 image in the printable area, which is more than 18" (19" - 0.556" bottom margin - 0.13" top margin = 18.314"), and I get a full 12x18 image printed off-center on the paper. Aperture does not seem to provide a way to do this - it insists on centering on the paper.
    Anyone know of a workaround?

Thanks for actually addressing the question. Yes, I have set Custom Layout to 12x18, but I cannot set the border to zero - it is automatically set to a minimum of 0.556" and cannot be reduced. I tried setting a custom paper size of 13x18.5 and was able to set the border to 0.25". My thinking was that this would trick the printer into printing closer to the leading edge of the paper, where the printer's margin is smaller (0.13"). Unfortunately, when I did this, the printer kept giving me "incorrect paper size" errors and refusing to print. The 4000 can print borderless only at the long edges of the paper, not at the leading and trailing edges.
I recall that my Epson 2200 had the same margin issues, but it was possible to override the printer's defaults by using a "borderless" paper setting. With the 4000, this seems not to be possible.
As for color, I am very familiar with color management. I let the app manage color, selected the Ilford profile, perceptual rendering, black point compensation, set print rez at 1440, selected the appropriate media, and turned off color management in the driver. I even tried using absolute rendering, figuring this might lock down the neutrality of the b&w, but no. CS3 still rendered skies ever so slightly cyan, where Aperture was more consistent across the tonal range.
Ultimately, I used QuadTone RIP, a lovely little $50 shareware RIP dedicated to B&W printing. Despite the name, it also works with color inks. Does a terrific job. In daylight, my Aperture/Epson driver prints look very neutral. But, under artificial light, I see a slight reddish cast in midtones. Prints made with QTR are neutral under any light and do not suffer from metamerism.
    ...'Case anyone's interested.

  • HP5250 Printable CDs Print Off Center

Using the printable CD feature, I find the image placement prints off center. At first they were slightly off to the left which was no big deal. But the last few I printed came out noticeably shifted toward the bottom leaving a sliver of white at the top.
Is there a way to realign the CD print tray?
Also, is there a way to print right to the outer edge and center hole without having an unprinted border?
I use Roxio Express Labeler that came with the printer.
    Thanks!

  • How can I print ONLY the active document?

Whenever I go to File/Print the darn PSE 9 program sends all of the working files in the bin to the printer. I've searched online for 2 hours now looking for an answer.
I like to work with having several to many files in the 'bin' and prefer to only print the active file I'm currently working on without having to close the 'working files' before I can print. How can I print ONLY the active document or file in the project bin? Please help, I've upgraded from PSE 3 to PSE 9 and really like the updated features, but this one pain in the neck default is getting the best of me.

Thanks for your help, that works nicely. It is good to have control of the printer again.

  • Printing Questions - "Poster" - One image on multiple sheet of paper (to create an enlargement)

    Hello,
Tried to find this in the archives - apologies if this has already been answered. Kindly reply with that link and I won't ask you to chew your cabbage twice...
On my older PC, I used to be able to print an image in "poster" mode, which essentially let me print and enlarge an image by printing it across multiple pages (e.g. 4, 6, 9 pages.) Since I'm a painter, this was an easy way for me to print out an image - and enlarge it - from which I could tape the pages together to create the enlargement. I then could use that rough poster-enlargement-on-multiple-sheets-of-paper to trace on to my canvas. (And my photographer friends have already pointed out the ease of which to actually print poster size images, but I don't need that expense or hassle for my purposes. I basically want an enlargement to trace onto a larger size canvas to paint on.)
Since I just got a new Mac, I've downloaded PSE9 Mac trial, but can't for the life of me figure out how to replicate what I used to do on my PC, granted with an older version of PSE.
Hoping this makes sense - and hoping against hope that someone can nudge me in the right direction...
    Thanks!
    Greg
BTW - IF this does make sense, AND I can do on the Mac or the newer version of PSE - anybody got an idea for a workaround? (Short of buying PS CS5...?)

    Juergen,
Thanks so much! Of course you're right - and this does the job perfectly! Thank you so much for the prompt replay, explained clearly, and very helpful! You've really helped me move onto items which I've really wanted to do!
    Very gratefully,
    Greg

  • I have an IX6550 which I understand can print up to 563cms images. Trouble is I can't get it to do.

Hi,  I am new to this forum but really need some help with my Canon IX6550.  I use it on a Mac Mini running OSX.  I use Lightroom and Photoshop CS6
I understand that it can print up to 563cms images.  I have set up a custom page and when I preview the image it looks great but when I send it to print it prints a small part of the image across the page.  If I change the orientation of the image then if shows only a small part of the image at it's full length.  Any help would be really appreciated.

    Using Windows XP (Home Version)
    Product # CB419A

Could be a number of issues.  First could be a bad or not connecting transfer rollers which moves the toner from the drum to the paper.  Only way to test is a half test by putting paper on the manual tray and printing a self test.  When the back edge enters the printer, open the toner door to stop printing.  Remove the toner and flip back the cover over the toner drum to see if there is any image on the drum.  If image is present then it could be transfer roller issues.  Use the service manual and look under engine diagnostics in the index and it will direct you to a page that shows how to perform an engine test.  Do the test to see if you get a sheet of paper with lines on it.  If you get lines, then the issue could be the formatter.  If no lines and the shutter has been removed then I would think you are having high voltage issues.  You may have to bring the printer in for service.

  • How do I center the image created in my pdf files?

When I create a pdf file from a windows application and the image has a border around it. Then open the file to view it, the border appears to be shoved to the lower left corner of the opened pdf file image so instead of having a 1/4" border around the page, the border is 0 on the left side and bottom, and 1/2" on the right side and top. It prints this way also. How can I make Acrobat 8 Standard center my image so the border is the same all the way around? The border is all the way around in the application the document is created in, and when printed from the application it is correct all the way around, but the pdf file is not.

    Terry
In your windows application, if you can click "center horizontally" and "center vertically" do that. I'm not sure what windows application you're using, but this happens to me when I use Microsoft Office programs.

  • Firefox 5 not printing background (colors and images) despit it's selection in Page Setup. Previous version worked fine.

I upgraded to FireFox 5, but it is not printing background (images and colors) for certain pages which previously printed fine with my earlier version. Print Preview DOES shows the background images, but when sent to printer or PDF, background images do not appear in the printed output.

I wish it were that but a long time ago when I had a problem with the gadgets with iGoogle back 6 months ago thereabouts I was asked to disable it then and I did and I just went to re-check and it is still not enabled, however, it will not let me un-install it though.. • Print only cursor-selected area of a PDF in Acrobat Pro, just as it is psbl to do in a browser

    Hi
I want to print only cursor-selected area of a PDF in Acrobat Pro. That could be both text and images, which are in my selection. Just as it is psbl to do in a browser. Is it possible in Acrobat PRO?
I am using the latest Acrobat Pro 11.0.9

Thanks for your effort but this again clearly does NOT answer my question. I do see a particular problem and that is that I might want to select text and images over a range of multiple pages. In a doc of 20 pages I might want to make a single selection of the text starting PRECISELY at the MIDDLE of page 2 and then continue dragging my selection all the way to PRECISELY the MIDDLE of page 15, thereby selecting all text and images within the precise range of my selection. That is some 13 pages there and I want to print out ONLY THAT selection of text and images. And in that case I cannot use your suggestion with the marquee zoom. Do you get me?

  • HP PSC 2510 "All in One"  prints only

When I installed 10.4, the other features of the all in one stopped working. For months I have been struggling with HP and have been told several times that new sortware was on the way. I recently installed their Image Zone software and it looks hopefull; however it also will not communicate with the device. So as of now, I have an All in One that is a One in One - has anyone had any luck getting their all in one device to do anything other than print?

    Hi everyone!
I have just upgraded my iMac to Tiger (and subsequently 10.4.3)... and suddenly I couldn't do anything with my psc 2510.
I tried downloading the latest drivers and software from hp, and installed it all, but it still didn't work, and when the "HP Printer Setup Utility" got to its last stage, it would beachball on me. That meant it was left with unfinished business, and returned to haunt me every time I rebooted my mac. Nightmare. And my psc still didn't work. (Ironically, I used the same software in the end - see below - so it must have been the order I did things that mattered)
Then I found this thread and I saw light at the end of the tunnel! Thanks!
    Basically, I...
    • deleted all of the files described in this hp document - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00441859&produc t=303770&dlc=en⟨=en
    • installed the "Printing Only" psc installer from hp - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&pro duct=303770&lang=en&cc=uk&softwareitem=mp-35188-1
    • set up my psc using Tiger's "Printer Setup Utility", by clicking "Add" in the toolbar, then selecting my psc in the window that appears (ah the wonders of Bonjour!). Because I'd just intalled the "Printing Only" driver, it used that, which is fine. Then I clicked "Add" and my psc was set up for printing
But I wanted more than printing! As do you, Chowser. So, then I...
    • downloaded the hp "All In One Installer" from here - http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&pro duct=303770&lang=en&cc=uk&softwareitem=mp-32709-1
    • ran the installer. Now, I know you probably won't have much faith in this working, but trust me, it does. Or it did for me anyway.
    • once the new drivers and "Image Zone" software were installed, the HP Printer Setup Utility opened up.
    • so, I went through the steps for setting up my printer. I got to the last step, and normally when I tried this before, the utility would crash after I clicked the "Next" button. BUT, for some reason, it all worked. My printer was fully set up! And, better still, because the utility has done its work, it doesn't start up every time I reboot.
So, now my psc works again. Hoorah! I just hope that it'll work for you guys too. Just give it a try - following my steps exactly... if it worked for me, then it should work for you too, right?
So give it a try, and I wish you all the very best of luck in getting it to work... Come back and tell us if you solve it!
    Happy New Year!
