PSE 9 Slide Show pixelated

I have created a slide show in PSE 9 with sharp JPEGs of @ 3MG each.
When viewing the photos in full screen, they are badly pixelated.
Any ideas?   Thanks.

I exported to Premiere & burned a DVD.  Pixelated on my computer as well as my near new LCD TV.
Whats wrong with this PSE process - anyone know?
more information may help analyze your problem
1 -- What are the pixel dimension of the photo files that are used in this slide show ?
2 -- Did you add Pan or zoom when making the PSE slide show ?
3 -- When you say you exported to Premiere Elements,
-- did you only make the DVD menus and burn the DVD disc in Premiere Elements ? OR
-- did you also Edit the video in Premiere Elements using its Timeline or Scenes functions ?
4 -- Are you creating the DVD as Widescreen (16:9) or as Full Screen (4:3 aspect ratio) ?
General comments --
Since you are creating a DVD (which is standard definition with pixel dimensions of 720 x 480 for NTSC in USA or 720 x 576 for PAL)  inputing a high pixel resolution photo file to the slide show process can actually produce a lesser quality image in the DVD video in the final image. Generally recommended are using a photo editor for  downsizing the photofile resolution to approx 1000 x 750 for 4:3 aspect ratio before you start making the slide show.
If you respond that you did use pan or zoom and you respond that you worked with (edited) the slide show video in Premiere Elements,
-- then there is a Premiere Elements parameter of Scale to Framesize that may be a significant factor in why you see pixelation.
-- Also it will be good to check the Premiere Elements project setting
When playing a DVD on a high resolution screen (either HD TV or computer monitor) the effectiveness of the upscaling hardware or software doing the playback is a factor in the quality of image that you see. I don't suspect that this is your only problem, but it can be a factor.

  • PRE 7 Fails to Open From PSE 7 Slide Show

I have a friend is is attempting to send a large slide show from the PSE 7 Slide Show Editor to PRE 7. The slide show has about 300 images.
After clicking on PRE 7 in the Otput command of the slide Show Editor, it first appears that PRE 7 is going to open as expected. Then the screen changes back to the Slide Show Editor.
Is this being caused by a resource or meory limitation? I believe they are running Win XP or Vista.
    Any idea what is happening?
    TIA

Possibly a resource issue as 300 slides is quite large. When you click output to PRE your creation gets sent as a single clip. Try making two slideshows of 150 or 4 x 75 and then mix them back together in the PRE timeline.

  • Formats for movie clip used in PSE 4 slide show

Still finding it difficult to find documentation of what formats are supported for using digital camera movie clips in PSE 4 slide show.
The movie file from my Canon camera is 640 x 480, 30 fps Motion JPEG and has a .AVI extension. I am able to use it "as is" in a PSE 4 slide show. However, sometimes I need to trim the movie clip in Windows Movie Maker 2 in order to keep only the best part.
My question is what parameters can I specify to save my movie clip in Movie Maker 2 so that I can use it as a movie clip in a Photoshop Elements 4 slide show that will be saved as a WMV file?

    Karin Sue,
    >Also, are the projects saved in a folder somewhere, or only as part of the Catalog?"
The definition of the "project", which is the "Creation" in Organizer terms is saved only in the Catalog.
    >If you publish your creation as a pdf or wmv they are saved in the folder you designate. Once published, I don't believe there is any way to edit. If you save the creation, you can go back and edit and republish if you like.
Yes, the WMV or PDF file is saved in the folder that you designate. You are correct that if you save the Creation, you can go back and re-edit. When you Save the Creation gets a thumbnail within the Organizer photo well and you can click on the thumbnail to go back in to the Creation process make modifications and save a new WMV or PDF file.
Note: that the Save window documents that the PDF choice does not support some options such as Pan and zoom, videos, and certain transitiions.

  • Pse 7 slide show

    Hello
Is it possible in pse 7 slide show to bring in more than one photo per screen shot ie like picture of Mom and Dad and then bring in smaller photo's of children on same slide.

    >Is it possible in pse 7 slide show to bring in more than one photo per screen shot ie like picture of Mom and Dad and then bring in smaller photo's of children on same slide.
I suggest that you use the Photoshop Elements editor to make whatever "composite" photo you wish and then you can use that "composite" photo file for the slide in the PSE 7 slide show.
However, if your intent is to display first the picture of Mom and Dad and then
    b dynamically
    bring in photo(s) of children,
-- then no the Photoshop Elements slide show does not have this capability. You need a more advanced slide show program or Adobe Premiere Elements video editor picture in picture also has the capability.
-- an alternative in the Photoshop Elements slide show that you might try (but will not be very precise) is to create the composite photo file in the PSE editor and then use the Zoom or Pan feature of the slide show so that you set the box to start the zoom (or pan) with only the parents visible and then zoom out (or pan) so that the children become visible.

  • PSE 7 Slide Show problems

I have used Photoshop 7 on my computer running vista very successfully but a problem has now arisen. When I use slide show to show some of my selections the pictures are pixelated. This does not apply to all selections. I note that the pixelated pictures are c 400% but the ones that are ok are  40%. If I do not allow the pictures to resize in slide show thet are only small. Any help would be appreciated. This has only happened recently and I cant remember if I have had an adobe downloaded update which might have affected this.

    Hi Bob
Thanks for coming back to me so quick, I will try & explain the problem in
    more detail.
I have all of the photos in My Catalogue tagged ie 2009 Holiday, Mothers
Birthday etc so that by selecting the tag and then display in full screen I
can show them in a slide show to friends & family. This has always worked
well until last week when I called up a slide show of a past holiday the
pictures were very pixelated. All photos are not affected. Some holidays I
select in slide show are ok. If I look at individual pictures in my
catalogue most are ok but many are pixelated. Any pictures that have not
been adjusted in PSE 7 are ok.
Any picture viewed in full screen in slide show has in the top left pop up
menu a % of less than 100%, typically 35 - 75%. Any of the pixelated
    pictures have a % 350 - 450%.
I originally had Elements 2 but upgraded to PSE 7 when I changed to Vista
because of album problems, apart from problems converting my catalogue
originally all has worked very well. Apart from the recent update the only
other thing which I have done is to start a back up which I aborted because
it was taking a long time to do. I have 4,600 photos in my catalogue and the
problem slide shows are random throughout but appear to be trouble free up
to about the end of 2004. ie a holiday slide show before then seems to be
ok. The latest photos put into the catalogue this month, post upgrade & post
attempted back up are ok. I have also found that if I expand a photo that
has been modified in PSE 7 although the modified picture is pixelated the
original displays ok. I hope that this more fully explains my problem but if
you require more information please let me know. I really do appreciate you
looking at this for me. It is very frustrating when something that was
working perfectly for me then goes **** up!

    David

  • PSE 6 slide show photos too large for TV screen

I have been collecting, scanning and saving family photos for over a year to create a slide show for my 81 yr. old Dad. I create a slide show with PSE 6, save to a CD and play on the TV. No matter what pixel size I resize the photos to they are still too large for the TV screen - not just one TV screen but different ones I try. I loose heads at the top, feet at the bottom, people on the sides. I have been researching but have not found the answer to solve my problem. Anyone have the answer or some suggestions I would be very appreciative.  Thanks.
    Scrap Grannie

Well, first of all, choose the right resolution and frame-rate...
Are you working in NTSC (30 fps), or PAL (25 fps)...?
Use one of the common DV formats /
if you choose HD, 1080i, then your TV must be able to recognize that format,
    otherwise images get cut off...
    Format                                           Rectangular Size              Square Size
    DV NTSC................................................720x480.............................. ...720x540
    DV PAL...................................................720x576............................ .....768x576
    HDV 720p..................................................NA................................. ....1280x720
    HDV 1080i.................................................NA................................. ....1920x1080
Stay with your chosen format through-out your whole project...
(PNG, TIFF or PSD), import those files into your video editor.
Depending on the Operational System (Mac or Windows), one has many choices...
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_editing_software
After editing, import those files into your chosen Authoring software for burning,
they will take care of the appropriate compression.
(I would recommend burning to DVD, not CD, one will achieve much better quality...

  • PSE-9, Slide show, Mac 10.6

I'm a 70 yo, and I like to take photos. I downloaded the trial version of PSE-9 for MAC and, after working with the tutorials I found online, I liked the results I got using some of my photos, and I purchased this application a few weeks ago. I liked it so much that I even bought one (windows) license for a friend of mine who is a much better photographer than I, as a gift this Xmas.
I just realized my version for Mac does not give me the ability to create slide shows, which is something I really would like to have to share my photos with friends and family.
I just wonder how those of you with the same issue are able to work around this problem.
    Thanks

    Barbara,
After I posted this message I spoke to my son and granddaughter. She told me of these options you suggested, and my son also asked me why I had purchased PSE9 if he had given me this computer with Aperture installed, a program that works also with photos. I did not know that.
Now, I only need to understand how all of those other program work.
    Thank you for your answer.

  • PSE 4 slide show player blacks out...

I reinstalled PSE 4 on a new XP computer. PSE 4 worked fine on the previous XP computer. When I click play on the Slide Show Editor the 'play screen' goes black. Individual slides on the slide display list at the bottom of the screen are highlited and progress as if the slide show is running. All other PSE features seem to be working. I assume there is a driver or setting issue easy fix but I would consider updating to a later PSE version if that is beneficial.

when I click "play" to view it or output it to a file, all I get are blank (black) slides????  The show is laying and it shows moving from slide to slide.

Thanks for your reply,  I tried various files (image) sizes from full to
1080 x 720 and the same thing happend.  I tried using just a "blank" slide with a different color background and it sttill played a "black" show.  I tried various numbers of slides from 1 to 30 and the with the same result.

  • PSE 8 Slide Show plays only part of audio track

    Help,
I am making a slide show in PSE 8 with pictures and mp3 audio. The running time is about 12 minutes long. The slide show works fine with all of its transitions in PSE 8.
Now, I want to make a DVD of this slide show. I go to the share tab and click on a tab to burn disk. PRE 8 opens up and takes the information into its program. the program works for about 60 minutes to make the DVD.
The program tells me the DVD is complete.
I take it out and pop into DVD player and it plays  the first two of three songs great. The DVD continues to show pictures till the end without audio.
    please help
    Bryan

my guess is that for the music that will not play, the mp3 file has some different characteristics and PSE can't use it. Perhaps it has Digital Rights Manangment or perhaps the mp3 contains album art .
So I recommend that you investigate the source and format of that specific mp3 file.
If you don't find any resolution after checking the above considerations,
then (as a means of troubleshooting)
I suggest that (instead of doing the Burn ti Disc-DVD) you Output a WMV file which you save in a folder that you designate on your PC Hard Drive.
Then playback that WMV file from your hard drive using Windows Media Player.  Does all the music play or is the same music missing ?

  • PSE 7 Slide Show Music

I am using PSE 7 to create a slide show.  I am attempting to add music but cannot seem to download songs from my itunes library where most of my music is stored. I am runnig Windows 7 and have been able to download from my Windows mucic folders.  Is there a way to import music from an itunes library?  Any advice would be appreciated.

PSE slide show has some issues with high resolution images. Please reduce the size of the image 1000 x 700 and create/burn DVD.

  • Mastering and/or mixing narration & music in PSE 11 slide shows

I cannot find a way to get acceptable quality out of slide show audio options in PSE 11. Using clips of a music recording instead of the whole piece produces amateurish clicks or abrupt cuts instead of smooth fade-outs. Mixing narration with background music does not seem to be possible at all. Are there eventual plug-ins or other means available to get around this problem?

  • Is there a limit to the  number of photos I can include in a PSE 12 slide show?

I recently took a trip to Ireland and...being the camera addict that I am ...took right at 3000 pictures.
Obviously -- I don't want to include all of them,  but I do have several hundred that I would like to put into a slide show.   Is there a limit to the number of photos I can use?
Also,  I notice that there's an option for adding a narration.    I'm  new to "12",   so ....  how do I go about this?
Hope you can point me in the right direction.
    Thanks so much,
    MarDee

I just discovered that I have the trial version of Adobe Premier.   I've
been playing around with it a little bit and NOW I wonder if it might not
be the perfect program for me to use to create my Ireland travelogue.   I'm
about to the point of thinking that the investment in the program &
upgrading to the "real" thing will be worth the money.
NOW...should I do this,  is it going to be better to leave the photos in
their current size  (just a step below RAW)   or resize them down to the
size used in email?    That being said --- what is going to be best for
putting on a DVD to share with friends & family.   Looks like AT LEAST 1000
    photos.
