PSE & PRE 9.0 updates,

I have the above products and when I try to install the updates, I get the following error message:
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update
There was an error installing this update. Please quit and try again later.
The full message is attached as a scan. Please let me know what the issue is.

you need to disable startup items, so click start, run, type msconfig, click on the startup tab, disable all, restart computer, then try to update again. after successfully completing the update install, enable startup items again.

  • Problems loading updates for PSE/PRE 9 after re-installation

    Hi
After having upgraded  Windows 8.1 to 64 bit (earlier 32 bit) I re-installed both PSE 9 and PRE 9 and registered both of them
Next step was to download PSE/PRE updates (packages available for both products) but that ends with error messages
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
    Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
    Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Updater
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
I quit and came back later - several times - yesterday and today - but no chance to load the updates.
I really need the updates at least for Camera Raw 6.5 which refuses to open CR2 files from a Canon EOS 60D
My guess was that it could have to do with missing deactivation of my previous installation (meanwhile fixed, by booting into 32bit Windows 8.1 - still available on another partition, deactivating and removing both PRE and PSE).
So I was in contact with Adobe Support via chat in case my serials had to be unlocked but they just replied that I would have received another error message and that I shall contact the forum for older products like PSE9
But they also stated that the updates are available @Adobe, no known system problems.
I hope you have a better answer.
    Thank you for helping!
    Br
    Bernd
    PS:
System Config: i5 3.2 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Windows 8.1 x64 t (new installed), NVidia  GeForce GT520, latest driver
Main Adobe products in use: Lightroom 5.6 (x64), PSE 9 & PRE 9
Internet Connection: Fibre 100 Mbits up/down (this cannot be the reason )

It's an issue on adobes side.
The easiest thing to do is download and install the updates from here:

  • PSE/PRE 9 update to 11 Every problem imaginable.

I have had PSE/PRE 9 for some time. worked fine until a week ago the organizer would not open. So due to Adobe's ridiculously bad support, I finally purchased PSE/PRE 11 because the guy said I would get support for that. Turns out he was full of @#$%. I was told that they no longer support this product THAT I HAD JUST PURCHASED. Here are my problems:
I downloaded 11, extracted the files and it all just disappeared. Not in my downloads, nowhere in my computer.
I called adobe, after being transferred from sales to customer support to technical support multiple times and after 2 hours 20 minutes on the phone, a guy told me to download the trial version and just use the serials that I had just purchased. That worked, but it only has limited functionality, none of the support, help, update type of things work (gives error code: U41m1c212), it won't import my catalogs from version 9 (when I click on "import catalog from previous versions" it just disappears), and it freezes and/or shuts down if I do much more than stare intently at the screen. I have tried to download again, but after download and extraction, when it should install, it only gives me an option to UNinstall. The install helper, that is supposed to help find problems with installation won't install. I don't have a clue what to do at this point, IDK if I will lose everything if I uninstall. IDK where all my cataloging and tagging from version 9 has gone. PLEASE HELP

Do you receive any specific error messages during the installation process?  What about when you open Photoshop Elements?  You can check your install logs by following the steps listed at Troubleshoot install using logs | Elements - http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop-elements/kb/troubleshoot-install-using-logs-elements.html.

  • Problems signing in to PSE/PRE Forum and Customer Service

Hello-I am presently  running PSE/PRE8 on a win8 computer with 12GB memory and1TB HDD. I am searching for information on PSE/PRE12. However, I am having problems with my PW/ID. I understand that Photoshop.com has been eliminated and this is the source of my sign-in problem. I change my PW and the new PW works for a while and it becomes the incorrect PW or User ID. Also,I added a new email address to support email problems. I was sent an email to click a verify link but the link was not included and the email was a noreply. I cannot contact Customer Service because it is sending noreply emails. I was able to signin to the forum during my last visit but was told that I was not eligible to post messages not answer post. I need to be able to reach Customer Service but I  preently do not have a method to contact  it. Thanks.

Hello Jorma- Thanks for the response however,I cannot locate your response to my "Problems signing in to pse/pre forum and customer Service". I checked the Photoshop Elements forum but I was not able to locate the subject.

  • Pre-Download System Updates to use w/MDT 2012

Is their any way to pre-download these system updates and install them during a deployment using MDT 2012?
Wish to speed up the deployment?
    * Im talking about the Updates not the System Update Software, I already have that installed!
Moderator comment: Subject edited for clarity. Was: Pre-Download System Update 5

I assume you're wanting to automatically install drivers?
Download the driver packs for your models from here: http://support.lenovo.com/en/documents/ht074984
Then add them to your deployment. I'm an SCCM guy, not a MDT guy, but this blog post looks like it may be relevant:

  • I downloaded and installed PSE 9.0.3 update. The message I received was "unable to install".

I downloaded and installed PSE 9.0.3 update. The message I received was "unable to install". This has happed a couple of times. What do I do to install the updates?

You may need to uninstall PSE and all other Adobe programs on the system, scrap the installer database and start over. Update failures most of the time point to blockages in the installer database due to version conflicts ov newer components vs. your "old" program. If the update doesn't add or fix anything that would be essential for you, then jsut leave everything as is and spend the time with nicer things...

  • PSE/PRE 11 Signin Problem

    David,
I have an Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and Adobe Premiere  Elements 11
    dilemma.
I recently received a birthday gift of both software programs.
Following Adobe instructions, I attempted to use Adobe Download Assistant.
It rejected my input with the following notation:
"This e-mail address is already in use. Please use a different e-mail
    address."
How can I use a different address? [removed by forum host]  is the only account I  have used for 20 years.
Previously, I have had some contact with Adobe. Never have I had any
    trouble.
As I am anxious to use both Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11,
I would greatly appreciate any assistance you might have to offer.

    Barbara,
Thank you. My initial response to your comment was, "I don't have a clue what you mean by "floating windows." HOWEVER,I took your link and read your posted article. I now understand the context which is sufficient for now. I am truly a brand NEW user that has NOT used PSE 9.0 AT ALL. It came on my new Dell PC and I've done nothing beyond registering it UNTIL today when the update showed up. I figured my PC was "on the shelf" a few months between manufacture and delivery so I've been accepting updates for much of what came pre-installed. NOW, HOWEVER, THANKFULLY you have alerted me to some Tom Foolery going on with the product.
Question: since I got an error during install of 9.0.3 should I consider it INSTALLED or should I proceed and ignore this little charade even happened since it would not have installed?  If I need to reinstall, I will wait for your advice, then I have a CD or DVD that Dell shipped with my PC. Should I use that? The link you give in your posted article, is the link to download to reinstall 9.0 or is that for something else, like support?
I am sorry I am so naive with Adobe 9.0. Yet, it is this naivete that makes me ever so much more grateful for your jumping to my situation.
    Thank you,
    Toad

  • Pse crashing after database update.

hi there. some help would be amazing. i am kind of in panic mode to be honest.
my program is pse8 running on a PC with windows 7 (64 bit operating system)
i was having a hard time installing my photo actions, so i purchased graffi's add-o-matic.
i hated it because it would just insert a generic image where the thumbnails would be, so i never knew what action i was using until i hovered over it.
so, i googled, found out how to add photo actions manually. then i went in and deleted all of the ones add-o-matic had done before, got rid of the thumbnails and re-installed all my actions manually.
some of them looked great. the correct thumbnails were there, etc. more than half, however, did not look right. they were still showing add-o-matic's generic thumbnail or no thumbnail at all- just a black box where the action button would be.
i emailed the creator of the add-o-matic and he directed me to a workshop on his site about how to rebuild your database.
    i did this:
Sometimes, though, something has blocked the database from finishing its update (you started working too soon while the database is still rebuilding in the background is the most common reason).  Sometimes you simply have to manually force a rebuild of the database.  It's fairly simple to do, but it does take a good 15 or 20 minutes to complete. Here's how to do that in Photoshop Elements:
(By the way, the file paths below are for Windows 7 & Vista - if you're using XP, substitute C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data  for everywhere you see C:\Program Data\ )
Turn on hidden folders' visibility first by clicking Start>Control Panel>Folder Options, and choose the View tab. Scroll down to the section concerning viewing hidden files and folders, and toggle it ON. Click OK enough times to exit that dialog.
    Then navigate to C:\Program Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\#.#
and locate the file "ThumbDatabase.db3"  - rename it "ThumbDatabase.db3.OLD".
    Next, navigate to
    C:\Program Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\#.#\Locale\en_US
and rename the database file there, too, from "MediaDatabase.db3" to "MediaDatabase.db3.OLD"
*Quit all other programs (email, web browser, etc.) and restart Elements.
Your entire database will be rebuilt, and this will take a bit of time (around 15 ~ 20 minutes or so, maybe a bit more or less depending on your computer's speed, how many other utilities are running, how much stuff you've added to Elements, etc.)
When it finishes, restart Elements again, and all your menus should appear populated.
then when i went to open pse again, it just keeps crashing over and over and over.
i have uninstalled and reinstalled. cleaned it up with a registry cleaner, etc and i cannot get pse to stop crashing.
can someone please help me. this is so horrible!
    thank you!

Go to http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/faqs.html and start with Multiple applications quit unexpectedly or fail to launch. Also, read Installing software updates before doing any more updates. I normally would say boot into your bootable backup, erase the volume you updated, and reinstall, but I don't get the inkling that you have one.

  • PSE 11 Organizer automatic update

Has anyone out there had a problem with the PSE 11 Organizer starting an automatic update when you open the program?  This happens even when I have just minimized the screen and left the Organizer open.  Yesterday it remained in the update status for more than six hours during which time PSE 11 was frozen and I couldn't do anything in it.  I finally had to terminate the program with the task manager, shut down my computer and start all over again.  I'm beginning to get annoyed and would really appreciate hearing from someone with Photoshop.

You will find that most people here are likely to have Photoshop Elements of some ve3rsion;  this aside, if you are on a windows system, then you should be running as "Standard User" not as Administrator or a user with administrator privileges.  this way Adobe updater cannot update your system without prompting you to login as Administrator.
Also, if I can remember correctly, Adobe Updater has a small checkbox that you need to tick to make sure Adobe notifies you of update before downloading anything automatically.  I can't produce this now because I don't have any update outstanding but if I find a way to replicate this I'll post back.
For now make sure you work as Standard User in a windows system so that you are protected not only from Adobe updates but also from Microsoft updates and from hackers and scammers who all like to install their small piece of software without your knowledge.

  • Pre Function Workflow updating tickbox

    Guys and Girls,
I am trying to update a checkbox using workflow when a modified record is saved. The workflow that i was looking at was the following based on picklist values selected.
What i am trying to do is when picklist value "recieved" is selected from any other value this will then trigger the workflow and update the checkbox.
    (PRE('<CallFrequency>') ="Not Sent" and FieldValue('<CallFrequency>') = "Recieved") or (PRE('<CallFrequency>') ="Not Proceeding" and FieldValue('<CallFrequency>') = "Recieved") or (PRE('<CallFrequency>') ="Not Proceeding" and FieldValue('<CallFrequency>') = "Recieved") or (PRE('<CallFrequency>') ="Sent" and FieldValue('<CallFrequency>') = "Recieved") or (PRE('<CallFrequency>') ="" and FieldValue('<CallFrequency>') = "Recieved")
    I have also tried this.
    PRE('<CallFrequency>') = LookupValue(PHMA_CALL_FREQUENCY, "Recieved") OR [<CallFrequency>]=LookupValue(PHMA_CALL_FREQUENCY,"Not Sent") OR [<CallFrequency>]=LookupValue(PHMA_CALL_FREQUENCY,"Not Proceeding")
Can anyone point out any possible issues with my coding as when i select the value this is not causing the checkbox to update

    Hi JE,
Not sure why it is not working. An almost similar expression works fine for me
    PRE('<AccountType>') = LookupValue("ACCOUNT_TYPE", "Travel Agent") AND [<AccountType>] = LookupValue("ACCOUNT_TYPE", "Forwarder")
    I set a checkbox
    Hope it helps

  • Running PSE/PRE 9 & 13 on the same computer?  13 Advantages?

Does anyone have experience running versions 9 and 13 on the same computer?  I intend to only use 13 for new projects, with new catalogs, at least initially.  I'm interested in 13 because it is a 64 bit app and appears to handle RAW files better.  The feature comparison between versions that Adobe offers on their web site is quite superficial.  Based on that, it appears the major upgrades are enhanced sharing on social media, more automatic formatting, and some additional gimmicky textures.  What about the advantages of running PSE and PRE as 64 bit apps rather than 32 bit?  Thanks in advance for any information and comments.

  • Gmail on Pre does not update read items automatically when reading them from a computer. (this might be more of a suggestion than a problem)

Basically I got Gmail on my Pre set to push emails as they arrive, I also have Exchange setup the same way.
Now lets say I look at my email screen on the Pre and it shows me I got 3 new gmails and 3 new exchange emails.  But rather than jumping on the Pre to check them, I get on my desktop computer instead.  I go open up gmail, read all the emails, and gmail on my computer now shows I have 0 new messages.  I do the same for Exchange.
Now I go back on my Pre to see what it says.  It says I have no new Exchange emails, but still shows 3 new gmails.  I even open up gmail on the Pre and the 'new' email number in the right hand corner does its little animation like its updating itself, but it still says 3 and I have 3 emails bolded.  And the Pre seems to continue to tell me I have 3 new emails until I manually hit the refresh/sync button in the lower right hand corner.
Bascially I would like the gmail to act the same as exchange and update read emails instantaneosuly.  Also it would be nice if Palm could work in a feature where if I did read the emails on a device other than the Pre, the little icon notifications would go away too.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Okey I think I have found a solution for this problem. I have Pre plus (AT&T) and faced the same issue as you. Mail was not getting updated as read when I already read it using outlook on my computer.
Upon looking at the SMTP setting on Pre I see that by default its security is SSL and port is 465. I just changed the port to 587 and now it works as it should be
