[Title was edited for clarity - Hunt]

Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, as Station_Two points out, this is the Photoshop Forum, Photoshop Elements' "big-brother." While the programs have some similarities, they also have many major differences.
I will Move your post to the very helpful and active Photoshop Elements Forum. Your link, and any e-mail subscriptions, will follow.
Good luck,

  • Aperture 3 trial installation question

I just received my free trial serial number and the instructions say to take Aperture 2 of my Application folder or rename it.
What folder would be best to put Aperture 2 into?

Hi karen2010 and welcome to Apple Discussions!
I simply renamed Aperture to Aperture 2 and then did the install. They are both there in the Applications folder. When I am ready I will just trash Aperture 2.
    Best of luck.

  • Pse trial v12 installed but when opening the editor it shuts down after 2 seconds, what can be the problem? I have windows 8.1 64 bit with the latest video drivers installed. Thanks

PSE trial 12 installed just fine but when i start the editor it opens and shuts down after about 2 seconds without an error, the only thing that appears is a message with 'continue trial'.
I have windows 8.1 64 bit and i already installed the latest video drivers, intel hd 4000 and nvidia geforce 710M.
I also installed premiere elements version 12 with the same problem.
What can be the problem here, please help?
    Thanks.
    Wim.

    Hi roberto-
Yes, its a shame. I have also contacted lenovo support hoping that they can sort out this problem. However, first response from them was 'contact your internet service provider since internet connectivity goes down'! :-/ I am hoping I have been able to get through to them now at least about where the problem lies. I wonder if anyone has tried using the laptop with the same broadcom wireless adapter with some other version of OS (linux, windows 7 etc.) and whether they still face the same problem. I haven't tried that yet. If this is just an OS / driver issue I hope someone somewhere is working on a fix! If not, I guess the only other solution would be to get an external USB wifi adapter but that is not something one would want to do when you buy a brand new Lenovo laptop. This was a big let down for me.

  • Photoshop Elements 10 Installation Question

How can I tell if my software installed properly? The software came with three discs, and it only installed the first disc. I am new to Photoshop, and do not know if my software installed properly? Can anyone help?

    Gautham K,
    Thank you for your quick replies. I have checked,and my OS is indeed 64 bit. I have been using the 32 bit version of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10, since I installed it last evening. I have a few quick questions;
Will I loose any functionality if I stay with the 32 bit version versus un-installing and installing the 64 bit version from disc 2?
If I decide to un-install, and re-install from disc 2, will there be any software registration issues (as I have already registered the software)?
Thanks again for all of your help.

  • Why does PSE 12 installation continually fail?

Despite repeated attempts with Adobe Support, I am unable to get PSE 12 installed due to "Shared Technologies" installation failure. After 20-30 minutes of attempting an install, I receive an error message saying that Shared Technologies has failed to install and a full uninstall is required (another 15-20 minutes). I find nothing in the PSE installation log files, I have tried everything (I do mean absolutely everything) suggested in the forums, support, knowledgebase and/or what Adobe Support has suggested (which really hasn't been sub-par). I even provided Adobe Support my log files and - in response - they told me to uninstall "Bit Defender" anti-virus (which I do not have nor have I ever had on my machine). Anyone else have their PSE 12 installation continually fail?

    Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I’m not sure what exactly you mean by “removing the bits” in-between times but I have removed the installation and OOBE folders (after renaming them didn’t help either). As recommended in a forum or by Support, I created a root-level folder (c:
PSE12_Install), saved the installation file(s) to that folder and ran “As Administrator” the EXE from that location. I tried that three (3) different times and each time I deleted the folder and OOBE folder. I restart each time plus I run ccleaner.exe to make certain there is no legacy registry entries or undeleted files.

  • Cannot activate/login with Adobe ID before trial installation of Creative Suite Design Standard

Cannot activate/login with Adobe ID before trial installation of Creative Suite Design Standard. After hitting login button, login screen freezes and nothing happen.
Already used 2 different Adobe IDs, same problem with both IDs.

Kathleenl30387883 I would recommend utilizing the steps listed in http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-network-issues.html to resolve the current connection error.

  • Can you load a PSE 11 catalogue backup into a new PSE 12 installation?

My computer is in repair due too a HDD problem. When I get it back it will only have windows installed. I currently have PSE 11 but I suspect I can´t do a reinstall because I did not de-activate the installation before the crash and I can´t find any information on the forum how to get your code reset. So alternatively I´m probably going to buy PSE 12. But then I have to load my PSE 11 back-up into a PSE 12 installation. Is that possible without losing information? I anybody can help out I would be very happy!

If you contact Adobe Support using chat they can take care of deactivation for the inaccessible installation.
Serial number and activation chat support (non-CC)
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service1.html ( http://adobe.ly/1aYjbSC )
If you only had the one installation, you should still be able to install even without contact Adobe Support since you are allowed to have activated installations on two machines.  But if you have the deactivate for the original you will then have the extra one available.

  • Installation Questions Documaker 12.3 Enterprise Edition

We are looking to install Documaker 12.3 Enterprise Edition and have the following installation questions:
When installing Documaker can we have our own VM in our own OU for the WAS application servers? This will make maintenance easier on our side.  There doesn’t seem to be anything in the documentation saying this is a good or a bad idea.
Our WAS Admins would like to know what the scripts in the Post-Setup documentation actually do.  Is it possible to use our existing scripting environment to build the necessary pieces instead of using scripts from the documaker install?  If it’s not possible, can we get a look at the documaker scripts before we run them?
We would like to know if WAS 8.5 is supported, or if version 7.0.0.27 in the requirements pdf is the only version supported?

The typical installation scenario is to have 3 tiers - application (WAS), application (Documaker), and data. WAS tiers host web applications (Dashboard, Administrator, Interactive) as well as providing database connection pools and JMS queues for messaging - it is expected that the WAS environment is a clustered environment and that the applications are deployed to the cluster members, which can be physical or virtual. For the Documaker application server, these can be physical or virtual as well. It's recommended to install Documaker on single-purposes environments, however there's nothing to prevent you from doing otherwise. The Documaker applications are self-contained JVMs and can be tuned accordingly.

The installation process (currently) writes the scripts according to responses provided during the installation process. The scripts can be reviewed/modified prior to execution.
We would like to know if WAS 8.5 is supported, or if version 7.0.0.27 in the requirements pdf is the only version supported?
The official supported version of WAS is 7.0.0.27, however WAS 8.5 may be suitable (I believe there might be a fix pack requirement there - would recommend you submit a question to Oracle Support for verification).

  • Premier Elements Trial Installation goes into oblivion

Windows 7 64 bit 16 GB memory /  Premier Elements Trial Installation goes off into oblivion
I started the installer, ready privacy policy (sort of), chose English, clicked Install. Installer disappears from the screen and the harddrive winks madly for about a half hour. Don't see the program in control panel or installed programs. Re-downloaded, same results.
I've had no installation issues with any other SW including Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS4. What the heck is going on here? - Help appreciated, IM

Troubleshooting installation issues can be a daunting task. Also, most of us on the forum have not had installation issues, so we can only go by what we have read, that has worked for others - little, to no, direct experiences.
Usually, a failure to install is specific to certain aspects, and settings on a particular computer - after one follows the very general guidelines.
If there is a product that is installing and working, that would be a good reason to go with that one, even though it is not from Adobe. Though I have been a big Adobe fan for decades, I still rely on some other programs, that do things that my Adobe suites do not do, or do not do as well. No shame in having a full "toolbox," for when you need something else.
I understand your frustration, and wish that I had some easy "fixes," but after the guidelines in that linked article, things do get very involved.
    Good luck, and happy editing,
    Hunt

  • PSE 9 Trial Installation Problems

I recently downloaded PSE 9 and am trying to install the trial version on my computer.  I run Windows 7 64 bit, on a Dell Studio XPS, Intel core duo P8700 @2.53 GHz, and 4 GB of RAM.  I have more than 150 GB free on my Hard Drive.
I have searched Google and the Adobe forums for a resolution to my problem, but with no luck.  The problem is as follows:
I start the downloaded installation program, and get to the screen where you either hit the "install" or "cancel" buttons.  Once I click "Install" the dialog box with the status bar comes up, however, from then on absolutely nothing happens.  The status bar does not change (even after waiting for more than an hour), the install will not cancel, and any attempt to switch windows, bring up the process dialog box, or any other action leads to a complete system crash.  The system does not blue screen, but becomes completely unresponsive.  The only way to recover, is to manually switch off the computer by holding down the power button. A manual check of the HD upon restart confirms that PSE did not install at all.
I have cleaned my temp folder, tried installation under a clean boot, uninstalled Dreamweaver, but still no luck.
Any help or insights into this issue would be greatly appreciated.  I don't want to buy the full version if I can't even get the trial version to install.  Thanks in advance.

Bill and Steve, thank you for taking the time to help me out.  I followed both of your recommendations - ran Advanced System Care cleaning out my Junk files and defragging my hard drive, and followed all the steps on the checklist.  I also did one additional thing related to problems people have encountered with Windows Installer which I found on another forum:
    http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21766633-Windows-7-Installer-has-stopped-working
The Elements install now starts and the status bar advances.  However, when it is approximately 98% complete, it just stops and nothing happens (I waited more than 45 minutes with no change).  I was not able to cancel the Setup, could not end the process using the Windows Task manager, and had to forcefully quit the Setup application by restarting the computer.  Thankfully, this time I was able to restart using Windows, rather than manually with the power button.  Once the system restarted, Elements had not been installed.
    Edit:
OK, so I tried the installation again, but this time made the following changes first:  In the Microsoft Management Console (accessible from Task Manager -> Services Tab -> Services Button) I manually "Started" Windows Installer and Windows Modules Installer.  I also double-checked that all Anti-virus, Firewall (including Windows Firewall), and Anti-malware services were stopped.
These steps have seemed to work and PSE9 has sucessfully installed and also runs (so far)

  • Question with PSe Trial Version

I have recently installed the trial version (8).  I have ran it for a couple days with no problems other than it being particularly slow.
Now though it is crashing to the desktop.  I can open to the splash screen.  As soon as I try to select Organize or Edit though, the program exits to the desktop.
Is this a known issue?  Maybe something specific to the trial version?

    Please try few things -
    1) Delete PSE preferences and then try launching the application.
    2) Try to open a new catalog.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

  • CS4 Master Collection trial installation blocks CD installation

    Hi!
I'm  need someone to help me. Here is a description of what happened, when I installed the Creative Suite (CS4) trial and tried to install the full version:
    1) I installed the trial version of CS4 Master Collection from a CD because I didn't need the whole version (or so I thought at that point, I was stupid as seen later).
    2) The installation screen told me I was able to insert the activation key later if I wanted. My impression was that I can do the installation and then upgrade to the full version if I wish.
    3) I run through the installation smoothly. No errors occurred during the installation.
    4) I could use the trial for 30 days after which the version expired.
    5) Then I tried to upgrade to the full version using the CD activation key. Unfortunately, the key didn't work but rather showed a red cross and an error message popped up saying the activation key was "not valid".
    6) My friend told me I should remove the trial version and then reinstall from the CD. However, the same problem also occurred in some other computers, so I believe that's not the only cause of the problem.
    7) After spending some time on internet, I found the following blog dealing with the topic:
    http://sherylcanter.com/wordpress/2009/02/problems-removing-and-installing-adobe-cs4/
I read some of the messages posted in the blog. I started searching for the cleaning tool  mentioned in the blog, and finally found the tool from Adobe web:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
I would really appreciate if someone with similar experience would tell, whether this tool really works in the latest versions of Windows (Vista, 7 & 8, I have 7).
I would also appreciate any assistance on the topic.
I already tested removing the "cache"-file from /C:/Program FIles/Common FIles/Adobe/Adobe PMC/cache/.. My effort had no effect.
If I really need to install my system again, will I lose all the files on the computer I'm using? I don't want to believe  that. Probably I can store some of the most important files on an USB-memory and still be able to use the Suite when it's installed and the files returned to my computer? I surely need to backup the system on my PC and not the others that were connected to it (any additional backup would be a catastrophe )?
I'm sorry for all the stupid questions & stuff, but I'm trying to get my message as clear as possible.
CS4 is an expensive software, so I really need to get it work. Installing the Suite from a CD should be possible because anyone may have  a trial on his PC before buying the full version on CD. That's the purpose of the trial version, I see.
    Thank you for any help!

Thank you for a fast reply!
The problem is stated in the title of my previous message: I cannot install the full version because I installed the trial.
Formatted as a question: "How can I get the CD installed with the original serial number?"
You wrote: "And where did you actually buy your CS4 license? There's a lot of fakes out there..."
    >The license belongs to my employee. I'm totally sure that the version I'm trying to install is not a fake.
"Other than that you could simply have used a wrong region installer for your trial and the serial number ranges are not compatible"
    >Could you clarify that more. The Suite has worked perfectly before I installed the trial. The installer only asked me to accept the license agreement and to choose between the trial and the full install. I was not asked anything else.
"You lose yourself in lengthy descriptions without actualyl ever telling what the problem really is, what the exact text of the warnings/ error messages is, what exact system you are on and so on"
    >I admit my "question" was lenghty and somewhat messy. Here are some more details:
    Country: Finland
Operating system: Windows 7 (as mentioned earlier)
Computer: Fujitsu (all requirements of the Suite are fulfilled, as the trial worked well)
Exact error message: "The serial number you entered is not valid. Click OK to retry entering the serial number."
Situation: I installed the trial, waited 30 days, and the trial expired. After that I tried to insert the disk serial number.
Possible solutions: Removing the trial and installing from beginning.
Internet access: Was ON during the installation.
The program has installed correctly earlier. Even with the serial number put in the back side of the disk.
Right now I don't have the information of the place where the Suite was bought (probably the origin is not in Finland). I can find it out on Monday. Possibly it was bought used that would make tracking a bit difficult.
Please ask if anything is still unclear. I know more on Monday, so if you can specify what information is essential by then, I would appreciate, and come on Monday with the asked pieces of information.
    Hope this message clarified something.

  • Photoshop Cs6 (TRIAL) - Installation failed - Encountered Errors.

Hi, Sorry I don't know if this question has been asked yet, so I'll have to ask.
Everytime I have tried to install the Photoshop CS6 trial, it says that my installation has failed and that it has encountered errors. Below is what my error report says.
    Exit Code: 15  -------------------------------------- Summary -------------------------------------- - 0 fatal error(s), 1 error(s), 0 warning(s)    ERROR: Media DB Error : 12
So, I'm not understanding what the error is.
I know I meet the system requirements because I'm running:
    Microsoft Windows 7 (Home Premium)
    4 GB RAM
    585 GBs of Hard Drive.
It says 86x bit? I think?
I'm pretty sure that I have those met.
Other than that, I'm just not understanding why this isn't working.
Adobe Download Assist is installed just fine.
    Hope someone can help!

Did you have the Photoshop Beta installed? If yes, then you need to uninstall that one before you can install the trial.
Does your account have sufficient privileges? If not, you might need to log in as Admin.
    Run the install again.
If the error recurs, then run CS Cleaner Tool and remove all products.
Reinstalling after that, should resolve the problem. Get the Cleaner tool here: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Let us know how it goes.
