PSE10 HELP?

I am unable to use the smartbrush because I get the following error message:  can't use the smart brush tool because the file was not found. I tried to uninstall and reinstall but near the end of the uninstall, I get a error message and uninstall is rolled back.

What error message do you get at the end of uninstall before it rolls back.

  • Unable to install the downloaded camera raw for PSE10 on Mac

At first, I wasn't able to open .nef files from my Nikon D800E. I then realized that I needed to update my camera raw installers. The available versions were 6.5, 6.6, and 6.7 from the adobe website. I also downloaded the Adobe App Manager as it was required to install the updates. The downloading process for all 3 versions worked fine. However, when I tried to install using the adobepatchinstaller, it didn't work. And I tried on all version individually. They all gave me the same message: not the right patch.
What else can I do as it is frustrating not being able to open those raw files...

On my PSE10 Help tab, there's no "updates" option on the drop down. I have to go to PSE10 help website to download it. I downloaded the ACR6.7 for Mac, but failed to install it, giving me a message "patch is not applicable." I bought my PSE10 from the Appstore, btw.
What other things I should try?
    Sincerely,
    Shirley Sagita Antono

  • Installing actions in PSE10

i want to enstall an action in PSE10. i've looked at the help file and it says to install it to  C:\programmeData\Adobe\photoshopelements\9.0\locale\en_us\workflow panels\actions.
now i know it says PSE 9, but this was on the PSE10 help page.  i have checked for this file location but i can't find a folder labled workflow panels or actions.
do i create this folder myself or do i install the action .ATN file elsewhere.
    thanks for any help

that is the correct path, but it;s a hidden folder.  In your system, turn on the view hidden files & folders option, then you shouold be able to see it.

  • Wrong "Help." Help!

I've been teaching myself PSE 9 and making good use of the Help menu.  Suddenly today it insists on taking me to 10.  Even when I click the selection box in the lower right to go to 9, it goes back to 10.  So frustrating!!  I installed new virus software, don't know how this could affect PSE help menu but it seems it has.  Or something else random has happened to cost me a whole evening of messing around, not working.  GRRR>

Adobe screwed up the hypertext links and the on-line help.  Can't get to ver. 9 help, and it's been like that ever since PSE10 was released.
The PSE10 help should work for you, though -- the features in PSE9 are in PSE10 and work the same way....

  • PSE10 Organizer won't open. Had an online chat which didn't help

Hi all - very frustrated. I have been running PSE8 for some time now and have just purchased PSE10 to keep myself current. The install seems to go OK but when the welcome screen comes up and I choose organizer, the program just closes. No error message, nothing - just closes. I can choose editor and that loads fine. If I then choose the organiser tab in the top right of the editor screen I just get a white box in the editor screen. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, performed a system restore from a previous restore point but no luck.
I have had 2 online chats, both of which seem to be very scripted asking me to do a range of things like going into the elements directory and opening organizer from there whilst holding down ctrl + shft , renaming catalogues, creating new user acounts with admin priviledges etc. but that does not work either.
I have sometimes had problems with PSE8 opening the organiser with it just shutting down, but always the 2nd time I open it, it works no problems.
As it stands I'm close to residing myself to being stuck with PSE8, but I don't want to be forever held at this point. Don't know if I can face another 2 hour online chat being asked to perform the same actions!
If anyone can help me to overcome this I'd get them a beer!

I must admit I feel a bit fooloish as I followed your instructions without reading them first, hence when I got to the end you ask for the processes I ended, I didn't note them down! Anyhow, off the top of my head there was 3 processes I ended. One was an Adobe QTxxxx type process, one said elements and the other said elements organizer.
Your help is much appreciated. I'm close to picking up my hammer to "fix" it once and for all!

  • Help installing PSE10/Premier onto Mac from PC without software CD

Help installing PSE10/Premier onto Mac from PC without software CD.  I can't find my software box anywhere..... Is there a way to locate my serial number within the programs?  AND how can I download the programs from your site- all I see are downloads for the new PSE 11.

You really need the DVD box which also has the serial numbers on the back. If you registered the product you can get the serial numbers by logging-in to My Adobe but that's not much help as only the current version 11 is available for download.

I an using PSE10 and learning the program from a book that says that the help files are stored online at the Adobe web site.    Are the help files still accessible?    Downloadable?    Still available for version 10?

  • I can't open the RAW files from my new Nikon D610 in PSE10. Any help for this?

I recently purchased a Nikon D610.  I have PSE 10.  I can't open my RAW files now and I always shoot in RAW.  I've tried everything, but still can't open m,y files in the RAW format.  Any help??????

    Your most direct choices are:
    1)      Use the free Adobe DNG Converter 8.3 to create Adobe-DNG raws from your Nikon D610 NEF raws.  These DNGs will open in your older Elements Camera Raw plug-in.  Be sure to set the ACR compatibly options in the DNGC to support whatever version of ACR you’re using.
    2)      Buy PSE12, and first download the trial version to make sure your computer can run it properly.
Adobe only adds new camera support to whatever the current versions of their software, and PSE12 was the current version of Elements when the D610 support was added.   PSE10 won’t be updated.
Also be sure that you are NOT using the old Nikon Transfer or ViewNX with your new Nikon camera.  These older versions of Nikon products change something in the metadata of new camera NEFs that makes them unrecognizable to Adobe software.

  • Can anyone help with downloading reinstall of PSE10?

I have tried downloading File 1 (1.5GB) of Photoshop Elements 10, 3 times and each time only receive a partial file.7z (PhotoshopElements_10_LS15.7z.jjrm7iqv1), which does not contain the .exe file and get an error message when trying to run the application. As you can imagine this is using up my download very quickly.  I have my serial no. and have downloaded File 2 and Premium Elements without any problem.
    Anyone help me please?

    Hi Miranda,
I'm assuming you're using the online installer.  We're aware of this issue and are working to resolve it.
In the mean time, please use the offline installer for your OS:
Installation problems | Flash Player | Windows
Installation problems | Flash Player | Mac
The installers are at the bottom of the page, in the 'Still having problems' section.

  • Download local help files for PSE10

I stumbled upon a section of Photoshop Elements 10 that had the downloadable help files for use offline.  They were gray and not clickable, but I lost how to find them again and Adobe help online is useless.
How do I download the help files so they can be accessed when there is no internet connection?

I searched that entire document and it does not give those instructions!
    I'm so frustrated!
To be clear about what I need...
I want to download the help files associated with the program, so that when I hit F1 or the help button, the program should provide help search and NOT attempt to connect to the internet.
I found this section by accident already, so I know it is here.
I just cannot reproduce what I clicked to make it appear.
It was gray and not clickable but it said something like PENDING DOWNLOAD.
I assumed it was gray because I had not yet registered the program.

  • PSE10 - How to get the online help on PCs with no Internet Access ?

    Hello,
Our company has bought several licences of Photoshop Elements 10 and would like to package the installation in order to be able to install it with SCCM (formelly called SMS) on PCs.
The issue we've got is that the PCs in our company don't have Internet access, so Users can't, after the installation, download the help online... and since there is no offline help included, that means they don't have any help at all.
Can you let us know where the help in question is copied when it is downloaded, so that our packaging team will be able to download those files from a PC with Internet Access and then add them in their package so that our Users will be able to read the Help (F1) even if they don't have Internet access ?
Thanks a lot for your reply

yes you can do that by changing settings in Adobe Help Manager
Open Adobe Help.exe from the location :  c:\program files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Help
Then in the download prefrences section , you can select the products you wish to have offline help
In the updater section select manually
In the local content section : select the product and click UPDATE
when the offline help is downloaded, then in the general section, select Yes (this will make the local help default)
Now if you can go offline, and press F1 within the program , it will open the local help
    Hope it helps !!

  • HELP REQUIRED FOR GREETING CARD SIZES IN PSE10

I've wasted hours trying to find  how to obtain 5" x 7" folded greeting card sizes.  The default menu only offers four sizes, all for flat cards but according to the Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 "Classroom in a Book" I should be able to select a 5" x 7" folded postcard using "Shutterfly".  I have visited the "Shutterfly"website but it appears to only support US/Canada residents.  Any suggestions, other than moving to the USA/Canada, on to how to overcome this problem would be most welcome.

Suggest that you enhance your picture file in Elements, then save it.
Use a program such as WORD, and utilize templates which can be downloaded from http://www.avery.com.
    For example, #3378 is a Half-Fold card, 5.5 x 8.5", designed for their paper stock. http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Search/?dimsearch=true&N=0&Ntk=All&Ntx=mode+matchall&Nty= 0&Nr=AND%28SITESCHANNELS%3AAvery.com%29&Ntt=3378&x=16&y=7
Insert the picture, add your text, and you're ready to go.

  • Elements Organizer does not install when reinstalling PSE10

I have a problem that I cannot seem to resolve. Previously Adobe Photoshop Elements 10 had been running flawlessly on my computer and was easily opened by clicking the desktop icon which had a "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe" target. After uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop Elements 10, when I click on the Desktop icon to start the application, I get a dialog box that says "The item 'Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe' that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved so this shortcut will no longer work properly". If I right click the Photoshop Elements 10 desktop icon and check properties, the Target says "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 10 Organizer\Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe". When I open Explorer and navigate to where the target says the application file should be, the "Elements 10 Organizer" directory does not exist. The only directory that does exist is the "Photoshop Elements 10" directory and it contains the 'PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe'. Yes if I click on that file the Editor opens, however when I try to load the Organizer workspace once the editor is open, it does not load because the entire folder and application is missing. I even tried searching the entire C-Drive to find the Photoshop Elements 10.0.exe file but it was nowhere to be found.
To be specific, I had PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10 installed on my 64-bit Windows 7 Professional w/SP1 computer. I decided to uninstall PSE8 & 9 because I had just purchased PSE12 and wanted to make room for the PSE12 installation. When I tried to first uninstall PSE8, the uninstaller stopped with the warning that PSE8 was installed in the same directory as PSE10. The uninstall then terminated when I clicked on OK. Next tried to uninstall PSE9 and received the same warning and uninstaller termination. The same thing happened when I tried to uninstall PSE10. Faced with the situation that all three products were installed in the same directory and would not uninstall individually, I found it necessary to uninstall all three applications manually according to the directions on the Adobe's knowledgebase.
To uninstall PSE8, PSE9, & PSE10, first thing I did was create a system restore point which is something I always do just in case something goes wrong. Then starting with PSE8, I first printed out the Photoshop Elements Help "Manually remove Photoshop Elements 8 | Windows that I found at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/826/cpsid_82673.html. Subsequently I printed out the directions for each product, PSE8, PSE9, and PSE10, are all on the Adobe website. Next I followed the directions contained in each article except for running the product uninstaller as I mentioned above and removed all three applications then rebooted my machine.
Next I reinstalled PSE10 and tried to open it only to find that it did not fully install especially the Elements Organizer. As mentioned you can open the Editor by going directly to the executable file however you cannot access the Organizer because it did not install and cannot be found anywhere on the computer. I have uninstalled and reinstalled PSE10 five time now each time using the product Uninstaller plus the "Manually remove PSE10" directions and I still cannot get the Elements Organizer to install.
My question is does Adobe have a utility that can be run after manually installing a specific product that would find registry entries that were not removed after completing the manual removal process? The problem I see is the manual removal process which shows possible registry entries to remove manually is built on the assumption that you were able to run the Uninstaller which is not the case with my problem.
Secondly does anyone have any suggestions on how to install both the PSE10 Organizer and Editor?

I believe I found a solution but I need help in changing some of the parameters to reflect for a United States program install.
If you go to "Elements 10 Organizer is not installed [SOLUTION]" at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4745941 you will note the Poster says it is possible to force the install of Elements Organizer 10 by using the command line:
    msiexec /i "E:\Adobe Photoshop Elements 10\ElementsOrganizer\Elements 10 Organizer.msi" TRANSFORMS=1031.mst ELEMENTS_DE_DE=1 ORGANIZER_DE_DE=1 STARTWATCHSERVICE=1 SUPPRESSREBOOT=0 NOT_STANDALONE=1 /l*v "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\OrganizerInstall.log".
I found that the above command line input does in fact start the setup for the PSE10 "Elements Organizer" Installer except it is in a language other than English.
Is there anyone familiar enough with coding and command line prompts to change whatever paramenters are necessary to have the installer run in English.
Hopefully there are some Adobe Staff monitoring this message that can answer the question for me.

  • PSE10 still shows "edit in progress" even when file in CS6 is closed

I have used PSE for years and love the Organiser to store and navigate round my photos. I've considered Lightroom, but have stuck with PSE10.
I've got the trial of CS6 and am considering purchasing. I have a problem though. If I edit in CS6, do my adjustments, save the file then close it, it still shows up as edit in progress in my PSE10 photo well. This happens with whatever photos I edit in CS6. Very annoying as they are then locked. My only option is to close PSE10 where a warning comes up about changes being lost, re open it and all is well.
Why does PSE10 think the photos are still being editied in CS6 even though they have been saved and closed?
    Help appreciated

What I have tried is after closing the file in CS6, then opening the file in PSE editor and closing that trying to "trick" the organiser into thinking it has been closed, but no luck.
I have no problem with PSE organiser and PSE editor. As soon as I close the file in the editor it becomes live again in the organiser. This is just with editing in CS6 then closing the file.
After a heavy edit session I will have numerous "edit in progress" messages over my organiser with the only way of clearing to shut down and re open PSE.
    Annoying to say the least!
    Thanks for your thoughts
