PSE10 Shared Technologies Failed To Install
I recently purchased a combination Photoshop Elements 10 / Photoshop Premiere 10. I installed Premiere just fine, but I cannot install Elements. Everytime I attempt an installation it will eventually "roll back" the installation because it says the "Shared Technologies" failed to install. I have tried every solution I could find in the forums and online. Nothing is working. Do I need to return this and get my money back? Or is there a solution.
Thanks,
Blair
Hello Blair,
A rollback is a generic failure of the installation to complete, the program is uninstalled to protect the ingerity of the system. There are a number of possible causes for a rollback. Check out this document for steps to follow: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/894/cpsid_89403.html
This document doesn't cover all of the steps for fixing rollbacks, just the most common. If you don't get this resolved with the documented steps, we can get into the more complex steps next.

Failed install of PSE 10 - Shared Technologies failed to install
I have a legal copy of PSE 10 that I am trying to re-install on Win7. It fails and rolls back with the error that "Shared Technologies" failed to install.
I have tried several of the options in these forums. I need a solution please. When I first tried to install, I was using my disks. I have since downloaded the software from Adobe (in case it was different) and that is what I have been using since I first posed my question.
By "clean slate", I mean, can you tell me how to clean up whatever temporary files/registry/other entries that are causing the install to fail?
I just tried downloading and running the AdobeCreativeCloudCleanerTool, and just tried the installer again with the same "fail/rollback" problem. -

Problem installing Adobe Photoshop Elements10--"Shared Technologies" fails to install.
I have had a problem trying to install a purchased disc set of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. The "Shared Technologies" has failed to install so the installation is incomplete. Tried online chat, which was helpful, but failed to solve the problem before we were cutoff. Need help. Thanks.
Sorry for the trouble, 907Faribanks.
There was an issue with some of the Shared Technologies, so you'll need to update the installer. The instructions for doing so are here: http://adobe.ly/KB92579
Let us know if we can help further. -
Shared Technologies failed to install
I'm installing PSE 10 and it seems to be hanging after installing the Organizer. The status says "rolling back the installation of Adobe Photoshop Elements 10". The buttons are grayed out. This is my 2nd time attempting to install. The first time I happened to double click on the status window and then a message came up about failing to install shared technologies.
Well... it just stopped and now I have a message that says the following:
InstallShield Wizard Completed
The wizard was interrupted before Adobe Photoshop Elements
10 could be completely installed.
Below mentioned application has failed to install:
Shared Technologies
Before opening my Mozzila Firefox to write this, all other apps were closed.
Thanks.See if anything here helps:

Shared components failed to install
I have recently purchased a graphics tablet that came with a bundle dvd of software that included Photoshop Elements 9. However, my computor does not have a dvd drive, so I was able to successfully install all the software onto my computor by transferring the files from the disk onto a flashdrive and installing from there- well, that is all except photoshop. It kept failing to install the "shared technologies." From there, I tried installing the programs straight onto my flashdrive and cutting and pasting the files onto my computor. The welcome screen would pop up, but nothing else would happen.
Any suggestions for my situation?
Message title was edited by: Brett NYou can't install to another computer or drive and simply move the files around. There are registry keys on Windows that tell the computer where the files are, so when you move them it breaks things (this is true of any large application, not just PSE or Adobe applications).
But your method of install (copying the disk to a flash drive and installing from there) should not be the source of the problem, that should work just fine. I believe the Shared Components failing to install would have happened even if you had the correct disk drive to install directly.
Take a look at this document for more info about this behavior: Troubleshoot installation | Photoshop Elements, Premiere Elements | Windows > Error: Below mentioned applications have failed to install: Shared technologies. -

Shared Technologies preventing full install Why?
Have tried to install Photoshop Elements 11 but keeps stopping at point where everything is almost installed and then message prompt that Shared Technologies not connected. Everything then starts to roll back. What the heck can I do?
My operating system is Windows 7. I have never logged on to an Adobe Forum before and did not realise their was a choice. I had followed on-screen instructions to create an A.S.A. report but it advised " Inspection report could not find any issue" I have Photoshop 5 already installed but do not understand why my new Photoshop 11 is being prevented from fully loading. Any advice will be gratefully received.

Installing PSE10 Shared technology issue on windows 8.1
This is about the millionth time I have typed this due to the rubbish nature of this forum...ie when you type ask a question in the box it then directs you to this page so you have to type all over again!
I am currently mega frustrated
I have PSE 10 and put it on my new pc running windows 8.1. It all seemed to be working but today when i tried to open the photo editor it would not open. So I did as requested and uninstalled then tried to reinstall but now I have the shared technology issue mentioned in many places on the forum.
I have tried all the fixes mentioned. i have even tried restoring the computer to a previous version but all to no avail. I am wasting my few precious editing hours trying to get the app working and I am really fed up. Can anyone please tell me whether PSE 10 works properly on window 8.1. If not I will be buying a different packageOpen Regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Delete this key under Session Manager "PendingFileRenameOperations". Restart the installation and it will work fine.

Premiere Elements 11 "installing Shared Technologies" error during install
How do I fix the "The installation process has encountered an error whil installing Shared Technologies. Please restart your system and try again." error while installing Premiere Elements 11? Photoshop Elements 11 installed fine, but I keep receiving this error while trying to install Premier Elements 11.
I have already tried:
Install from CD
Install from C: drive root
Install from Adobe website trial version
Install from CD, after clean boot
In each case it installs at the same place with the same error.
From searching these forums and doing a web search it seems like a common problem with no clear solution.FFWLKin
I do not know if what I am about to report will help or confuse the Premiere Elements users further on this Shared Technology error encountered during Premiere Elements installation, but here is hoping that something in the following experience might be of help to someone....
I entered your thread with the Shared Technology error (targeting Elements Organizer/Data 7) when trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 and Premiere Elements 10 on a new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Unlike the others I had no problems installing Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop Elements 11 from the Adobe installation disc a week earlier on this brand new Windows 8 64 bit computer. Short of re-formatting the hard drive, I did everything plus with no luck in getting versions 10 installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer. So, I decided to focus on working with the already installed version 11 programs.
I headed for Premiere Elements 11 to create a DVD-VIDEO format on DVD disc and to my horror found that the program's burn dialog had no burner(s) in the burner location (either the build in one or an external burner (USB). But, Premiere Elements 11 burn to folder did work. On the other hand, I found that Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer File Menu feature to burn (datadisc) to CD or DVD did recognize these burners and that burn to feature worked. I went through the typical drill for those in this type of situation and nothing remedied the problem. So, I decided to go for the deactivate/uninstall/reinstall route. Well, now Premiere Elements 11 reinstallation ran into the same fate as Premiere Elements 10, that is, it ran into the Shared Technologies error related to installation of the Elements Organizer and Premiere Elements 11 would not install after going through everything decribed in this thread, excluding re-formatting the hard drive.
1. Deactivated/uninstalled Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11.
2. Apply the cclearer: cleaner and registry cleaner. And, then went into the Registry and deleted all related to Photoshop Elements 10/Premiere Elements 10 as well as Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11.
3. Disabled firewall, antivirus, spyware...
4. Tried to reinstall Premiere Elements 11, using the installation files (setup.exe in 64 bit folder) copied to hard drive. No go. Same Shared Technology error.
5. Started deleting programs that I had installed after the initial successful installs of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 (these programs included iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn). Still no go for the Premiee Elements 11 install, and same Shared Technologies error.
FINALLY, Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 got successfully installed on this Windows 8 64 bit computer according to the following scenario (iTunes, VLC player, and ImgBurn still removed from system...firewall, antivirus, spyware protection re-enabled)
1. Attached a USB burner to computer via one of its USB 3.0 ports.
2. Inserted the Adobe installation disc into the burner tray of this burner in order to install the program(s) via the installation disc.
3. Selected install for Photoshop Elements 11. It went to completion without problem.
4. Selected install for Premiere Elements 11. It went to completion without problem. And, now the burn dialog/burner location did recognize the computer's built in burner and my USB external burner.
None of the above may have had anything to do with what finally triggerd the version 11 installation processes to go to completion. But, I add this to the mix of how Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11 finally got installed in Windows 8 for the user.
And, I would offer this suggestion to those who have already installed Premiere Elements 11 on their Windows 8 64 bit. As soon as possible make sure you have burners listed in the burner location of the program's burn dialog.
