PSE11 Add People not suggesting People tags

Hello,
PSE Organizer 11 is not finding any people. I have tried selecting one or all of my media and it never seems to suggest people. I have tried training the engine by manually typing in People tags (very slow process) and it has not helped. It always comes back with the message "No new people found in your selection".
Please suggest face ways to tag people with Marked faces. I used to be able to do this very face by dragging and dropping people tags onto the Mark Faces boxes. I also used "Family" and "Friends" as people tags (this is really important to me). All of this seems to be dropped in PSEO11!

Here is a suggestion that came down from our engineers:
1. Close Elements Organizer
2. Navigate to
--Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\\BreezeData
--WinVista/7: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Elements Organizer\Catalogs\\BreezeData
3. Rename "breezesession.dat" to "breezesession.old"
4. Retry People Recognition.

PSE 11 - Cannot add people tags to photos from Media tab

I upgraded from PSE9 to PSE11 and now the tags are separated on the right side, with the people tags below a line from which you can no longer add these tags to photos.
How am I supposed to add people tags to new photos?

To see imported keywords for people, in the Media tab click the menu:
View >> People Recognition
To add new people tags click the button on the task bar Add People and let the software run.

I can't use the Mark Face or +Add People buttons in PSE11 or PSE12

Hi,
I'm really struggling with this as I thought this would be a very important feature for me, one reason I am trying to make PSE 11 work for me rather than Lightroom. When I click on the Mark Face button I get a pop up that says "People Analysis has yet to beperformed on the selected media. Would you like to start the analysis now?" When I click Yes, something pops up for less than a second, so fast I can't read it. I can tell there is a bar with what is maybe 0% to the left and 100% to the right. And that is all that happens. If I click on the +Add People button, same thing. If I right click on the picture I can select Add a Person, and then type in a name and I can add people tag that way. Not what I really want to do. The Mark Face funtion worked for about 50 picturesandthen stopped, I don't know why.
Things I have tried:
Optimize catalog.
Repair catalog,
renaming BreezeSession.dat to BreezeSession.old
I downloaded PSE 12 and am in the first day of my trial. The Mark face function worked for the first picture and I thought I had my solution! On the second picture it is now doing exacttly as before.
Any insight would be appreciated. I guess I could live without this feature but it is onethat I think I would really use.

Thanks for the reply. Selecting multiple thumbnails and clicking the +Add People button on the bottom toolbar results in the same problem. I get a popup for a brief instance and that's it. It lasts a fraction of a second. After repeated clicks I thinnk it says "Analyzing your media" or something to that affect.

Add People not working in PSE12

Hi
After horrendous installation problems I've now finally got PSE12 installed. THowever the 'Add People' functionality is not working.
In the 'People' tab, when I click the 'Add People' button I get the 'preparing files' dialogue box. I then get a message saying "You have labelled everyone in your selection" (whether I've made a selection or not in 'Media'). I can 'add people' in an individual photo but not by clicking 'add people' either in Media or People view. This worked fine for me in PSE11.
I'm using Windows 7 and don't have any other PSE versions installed.
Any suggestions?

Add people analysis not working in Elements 11

Hello,
The Add People feature has stopped working in Elements 11. I just get the message "no new people found in your selection". Yet, when i open a picture there will be faces that are marked in the photo awaiting tagging. I have thousands of photos and having to open each one individually just to tag faces is not why i purchased this software. It worked well in version 10 and was much better in 11 until it stopped working.
It worked great until about 3 weeks ago. I have not changed any settings on my end. I have followed the directions on the following threads:

To date:
I have reset to default settings
I renamed the psa.prf, status.dat and the peoplestatus.dat files.
Neither of those have worked. Short of uninstalling and re-installing i am at my wits end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Please see if following works:
1. In your catalog folder, rename 'BreezeSession.dat' file (Catalog folder location can be found by Help->System Info) and see if that helps.
2. Select the image in small batch and then click on 'add people'.

People/Faces w/ADD PEOPLE "All tagged?"

I have about 11,000 pix in PSE 11 and growing, all of a large family. Using 'Add People" in organizer worked well up till I reached 9,000 pix. I get the msg that all faces have been tagged. I've been scanning about 300 pix from our old albums and always try to add people after each group. I am not even getting the "Is this a person" message. I can go to each batch and manually answer "Who is this? but I would like some help from the software.
Database size problem??

Please go to Help > System Info and check the location of your current catalog. Close Organizer. Go to that location, double click on BreezeData folder and rename the file:
"BreezeSession.dat"to "BreezeSession.dat.old"
And then re-try.

Update photoshop elements catalog did not preserve people tags

I recently bought Lightroom, having been a long-standing user of Elements. I tried to update my Elements 11 catalog, but many of my pictures have People tags which failed to make it through into the Lightroom catalog. In other words, many of my pictures, when looking at them in Lightroom, don't have the tags for the names of the people in the pictures, even though this information was present in Elements 11.
Is there something I can do to get the People information across from Elements 11 into Lightroom 4.3?

I see you have already tried the usual methods.
One thing that puzzles me is the screenshot with the file 'thumbs.5.cache'.
That file is the cache storing the thumbnails : it's an sqlite database just like the main catalog : catalog.pse11db.
Normally, when you 'optimize' the catalog, that cache file is rebuilt, but sometimes the only way to replace it is to delete it, and wait for the Organizer to rebuild it (several hours in your case...)
It would not hurt to do so in PSE10 before trying the conversion.
The conversion in PSE11 also converts (or make a copy ?) of the cache file.
In my tests, the conversions in PSE11 do work even if the cache file is missing, and even if there are missing files. So, trying to convert without the cache file and let the Organizer rebuild the thumbnails in PSE11 is possible.

Add People and Mark Face not working in Organizer 13

Have not been able to tag 1 person since installing PSE 13 and 13.1.
"Add People" finds no people in any picture, and the flag informing that analysis has been run is not set, so "Mark Face" can not be used. Have tried the procedure "Troubleshooting face recognition issues in Organizer" without success. Help!

Please try out following steps:
1. Go to Preferences (Ctrl +K) > Media Analysis
and verify that the check box for 'Analyze Photos for People Automatically' is checked.
2. In Media room > Go to View and see People Recognition option is checked.
Now tr out your workflow and see if it helps.
In case it still does not start , Create a new catalog and Import some media with faces in them.
Now run Add People on the media you imported in new catalog and see if it starts working.
In case it starts, try switching to your older catalog and run Add people again.

Question Elements 11: "Add people" recognizes faces in individual photos but not groups of photos

"Add people" feature has never worked in Elements 11. How do I fix this? It recognizes faces in individual photos, but not in groups of photos.

Hi, I have just moved to PSE 8 from Windows Live Gallery (Windows Vista, then Windows 7)
Windows Live Gallery stores metadata in the photos, it puts things like places, events etc as "tags" which PSE8 see's fine, but I have 14,000 photo's tagged with peoples names and Windows Gallery stores them as "people" in the metadata and PSE8 doesn't see that so doesn't import the tag
PLEASE tell me there's a way around this??!!!

Ah, the ambiguity of "tag". I was referring to the number of distinctly named People tags, not the number of photos with the tags. So the procedure for converting the WLPG tags would be:
1. Pick the next distinctly named People tag, e.g. "John Smith".
2. Create a new tag Descriptive tag named "John Smith".
3. Click on the People tag "John Smith" to show all photos tagged with it.
4. Select all those photos and drag them to the Descriptive tag "John Smith".
5. Go to step 1.
I'm guessing you could do a sustained rate of roughly 100 tags an hour, perhaps a little faster. In my main catalog of 15K files, I currently have 150 People tags.

Why does PSE 13 not Show Notes for People Tags?

When using PSE 9, editing People Tags includes Notes. When using PSE 13, People Tags have no Notes. Why?

There is a completely new slideshow in PSE 13, which is the same for both platforms. It isn't as customizable as the old slide show editor.

How are people tagged manually with Pse11?

I can open the people tag panel and select photos, but can not tag them.

Select View>Show People in Tag panel. This makes the people tags appear in tag panel. now you can create and drag these over images like any other normal tags.

Elements 11 -- add people, does not appear to work

Have selected a sub set of photo's with many people in the photo's. When I then go to the bottom of the page and hit "add people" .. it goes thru and say none to add. Yet there are plenty of people in the photo's to add. What am i doing wrong?

Add People button results in "You have labeled everyone in your selection"

Hopefully there's a solution out there that I simply failed to find.
I am using PSE11 20120830.r.32025
When I click on the "Add People" button under the "People" tab in the Organizer, normally the program would show a dialog box, "Preparing files...", then show either faces it doesn't recognize for me to tag, or show a window with known faces on the left and potential matches on the right for my to verify.
However, lately when I click on "Add People", it still shows the "Preparing files..." dialog, but then it brings up a windows saying "You have labeled everyone in your selection".
This is obviously not true, since I can go through the majority of my pictures that do no have the faces tagged (most show the "Who is this?" box where the name would normally show.
This happened to me before, and I started a brand new catalog to see if the old one had just gotten corrupted, but here I am again, stuck.
Please help!

Go to Edit >> Preferences >> Media-Analysis
Make sure the box for people recognition is checked.
Otherwise click the Media Tab and make sure you are showing all media. Then, without selecting any thumbnails, try again and leave Elenents to complete the indexing.

PSE 11 - People tags showing as groups

Hi,
I've upgraded from PSE 6 to PSE 11. My people tags have carried over, but are not showing properly in the "People" view.
All my people tags are still present on the pictures and I can search using them by selecting "Advanced Search" in the media view. However, when I go to the People view, the only stacks I see are ones I have created in PSE 11 that were not tagged in my previous version. The names of all my previously tagged people only show when I click to view "Groups". Clicking on the name in "Groups" simply leads to the message "No people exist in this group" - even though the tag clearly shows on the images in the Media view.
Is there any way to convert the people listed as groups back to people tags that will be recognised by PSE? Even when I run the facial recognition software and tag people here, they still do not show up in the People view if they were previously tagged in PSE 6.

There is no conversion process because the people module is new to PSE11.
Importing from earlier versions simply brings in key words.
You need to decide if you want to stick with your key words and get this:
