PSE11

Mein PSE 11 stürzt ständig ab , inzwischen auch bei einfachen Bildbearbeitungen, nach kurzer Zeit blauer Bildschirm. Was kann die Urlache sein.
Bei allen anderen Programmen arbeite ich stundenlang da passiert nichts. Für Hilfe wäre ich dankbar.

   1 . Zamknij elementów.
   2 . Uruchom Photoshop Elements ekran powitalny i przytrzymaj Ctrl + Alt + Shift i kliknij przycisk Edytor .
   3 . Nadal trzymać klucze , aż pojawi się okno komunikatu z pytaniem, czy chcesz usunąć plik ustawień programu Photoshop Elements , kliknij przycisk Tak . Elementy otworzy domyślnych preferencji .

Rozwiązanie 6 : Sprawdź raz w Menedżerze zadań (Win ) lub monitor aktywny (Mac) , aby upewnić się , żeprogram Photoshop Elements Editor nie jest już uruchomiony . Jeśli tak, to zabić proces i spróbuj wznowienia .

Can't scan to PSE11

Since I upgraded to PSE11, I am unable to scan from my HP Laserjet 1312. I am running Windows Vista 32bit.
Before now I have used the Twain interface.
If I push the "scan" button on the printer, it says "waiting for PC".
If I use the WIA import option, PSE asks which pictures I want to COPY.
I copied the Import Export directory from Optional Plugins to Plugins, and selected it in PSE preferences, but the option for Twain does not come up when I select Import.
Any other ideas? Thanks!

Album sort order PSE11 - is it by design ?

When experimenting with the sort order of albums in PSE11, I was surprised to see that in some albums, changing the sort order from 'oldest' to 'newest' did not produce any effect.
The reason of this probably lies in the menu /preferences/general :
If you have only pictures taken the same day, the above setting will still show 'oldest first' even you choose 'newest first' for album order.
I believe that the most used order is 'album order' and that the 'newest first' is very rare.
I can understand the option to browse 'oldest first within each day' when in 'newest first' in thumbnail view.
However, I wonder if that option makes sense to sort an album ?
Was it by design ?
If it were me...
I would not use that preference for an album,
and...
I would add the option to sort by filename and caption.

Figured it out. I added "Various Artists" in the Album Artist field for every track and it then sorted them all together.

How to get Topaz filters working in PSE11 purchased from App store

I've successfully used a range of Topaz filters in PSE9 and PSE10 (purchased from Apple's App store).
Having recently purchased PSE11 from the App store, I'm having no luck getting any of the Topaz filters to work. I have followed the instructions on the Topaz website and been in contact with Topaz themselves.
Topaz have told me that Apple's sandboxing on the App Store version is the problem and that currently there's no solution. The only current solution is to buy again PSE11 from Adobe.
This seems wrong that there are two versions seemingly on the one program and that one, which previously worked with a version of the software from the App store now doesn't work.
Am writing this as a warning to those who are perhaps thinking about buying PSE11 and using Topaz filters, but also to find out if anyone has found another workaround other than buying the program yet again?

My problem seems to be the pathing provided by Adobe which I can't add to or change. It is:
MacintoshHD/Users/Apple/Library/Containters/com.adobe.pse11editor/Data/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 Editor/Plug-ins/
Installed in this folder are the Topaz filters, and they show up inside Adobe PSE11, but when I go to run them I get an error message saying: "IPC memory is in use, or Image Size is too big for the system."
It's not the later, because the image is 124 KB.

Can't print in PSE11 after upgrading to windows 8.1

I have just upgraded from Windows8 to 8.1 and now can't print in PSE11. For some reason can in PSE7

I can print from other programs but not PSE. I have updated the drivers. I have attached 3 screen shots with error messages.

Does PSE11 show HDR exif data for a Canon 5D Mark III?

I have taken some pictures with the HDR feature on my Canon 5D Mark III. The HDR image that the camera creates does not show that it was created using the camera's HDR feature when viewed with PSE11. The Canon Software that came with my camera is ImageBrowserEX 1.4.0 and it shows these data: HDR Shooting Enable, Adjust dynamic range +-2, HDR Effect Natural, Auto Image Align Enable. Is there a way to show the HDR exif in PSE11? Thanks, Anne

Thanks -- I should have mentioned in my original question that I had already looked at File>Info. The usual stuff is there but nothing about the image being created from the HDR camera function, or at least that I could see. I went through all the tabs including Advanced and just don't see it. I will try to figure out how to ask Adobe Technical Support and how to request that they get that info included if it's not there. Anne

I have a Windows operating system. How can I import an entire album into my PSE11 catalog?

When I use the "Import from Revel" function if PSE11 it opens up the entire Revel catalog in no particular useable order. Since I have 25000+ photos in numerous albums, that's no help.
I found that I can "Save picture as" to specific folders on my hard drive and then import these into my Photoshop catalog, but Revel only allows me to download one photo at a time to a folder even when I "Select" multiple photos, which makes it practically worthless because I have so many images.
Is there a way to select a whole album and save it into a folder in my harddrive if I can't do this directly into PSE11?

You are correct that we offered users of photoshop.com a program for archiving everything back to their computers before we shut down photoshop.com sharing and storage.
Revel is an onlilne sharing and storage option also. You can not, however do a bulk download of all your files in Revel to your computer. Currenty you can only download files one at a time.

Problems With PSE11 and Windows 7....

Has anyone experienced and resolved the issue of having PSE11 open, then closing and then experiencing a crash when you try to reopen it? I bought the Bundle of Photoshop Elements 11/Premiere Elements 11 for my wife as a early Christmas present Sunday and after several re-installs it does finally work on both Desktop and Laptop. BUT(and I stress BUT), if you close either title it will not open on either system again until you restart your system. Also if you open PSE11 then PRE11 will not open and visa- versa. After a restart it works fine agian but only once. Truly puzzled...... My system requirements are sufficent and my OS is windows 7(64 bit) I have completed the most recent updates with Adobe on both systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Try making a direct shortcut for the Organizer and Editor. Make sure you have the correct file path as there is more than one exe file. You can then launch the programs directly from the desktop bypassing the welcome screen. This is generally better as the welcome screen leaves background processes running.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Elements 11 Organizer\PhotoshopElementsOrganizer.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
　 Then make a direct shortcut for the Editor in a similar manner.
On Windows, Right click anywhere on the desktop and select New >> Shortcut
Then click the browse button and navigate to:
"C:\Program Files(x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11\PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe"
Then click Next; then click Finish
You can also make a shortcut for the Premiere Elements editor application which is located in Program Files if you have installed the 64 bit version.

Error Message when trying to load PSE11 editor in Windows 8

Hi, I can't seem to launch PSE11 Editor neither directly from the file location (C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 11) nor through the Load screen. I've tried to attach a shot of the error message, but alas, windows 8 isnt even letting me do that on this browser - The text of the message says "The application was unable to start correctly (0x0150002). Click OK to close the application." Can someone please help?

Windows 8 and PSE7 and PSE11 how to add actions

I changed over to Windows 8. PSE 7 downloaded and opens up just fine. I cannot seem to find any info on how to add actions to PSE7. Windows 8 is not setup like 7. There is no start button. You cannot input programdata to find the hidden files. I downloaded PSE11 trial version thinking it was just PSE 7..........same thing, downloaded no problem, opens up but how do you add actions? I used many actions to resize the file, sharpen, and a few makeover actions by Florabella. I would love to be able to use those again. Thank you.

You probably need to do some study on how Microsoft expect Windows 8 to be used, especially if you don't have a touch screen.
Two thoughts
1. If you don't have a touch screen, Adobe Reader Touch may not be the best choice. It is much more limited than the regular Adobe Reader. Did you pick it for a reason, or just because Microsoft encouraged you into their App Store?
2. Try a right click, sometimes seems to substitute for a touch off the edge. I know you can't just use the mouse as if it were touch.

Opening an image problem - with PSE11

Help...have been in chat room with various Adobe Tech guys...have tried all their suggestions and none have worked. CANNOT click on an image(any file type) in My Pictures and have it open directly ..WIN32 application error appears. Must go File/Open with/Picasa/click Adobe Photoshop Elemets. Also cannot go back and forth between any image programas now...used to be in Picasa, could click and open in PSE. VERY FRUSTRATING I downloaded this PSE11 to upgrade from my PSE8 in order to use my new D7000 which was not recognized by PSE11.

How to open two files in the one window in PSE11?

In older versions of PSE I was able to open two picture files in the same window by just resizing them smaller so that I could deal with them side by side........I couoldn't do it in PSE=10, and I upgraded to PSE11 and still don't know how to do it. Can somone assist me? Thanks..

In the Organizer select two thumbnails and hit the F12 key to compare them. But I guess you mean in the Editor application. In Expert Mode it‘s possible to work with floating windows rather than fixed tabs but you first need to set your preferences. Go to:
Edit >> Preferences >> General (Windows)
Photoshop Elements Editor >> Preferences >> General (Mac)
Then put a checkmark in the box against “Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode”
Click OK
You can now open your two images and use the layout button at the bottom to choose various configurations or to cascade.

Timeline and full screen view in PSE11

I have read as many reviews of PSE11 as I can find but none have mentioned the Timeline, which I use every day. Does it still exist in PSE11? What about the full screen view and compare side by side view? Do they still exist. If they do, can you still see the image full-size by clicking on it in full screen view?

Timeline and Full Screen View exists in PSE11 and all the earlier functionalities present in full screen view are present. The Timeline and Full Screen View can be accessed from View menu of Elements Organizer.

Can I change thePhoto Downloader sort order in PSE11

The default sort for the Photo Downloader seems be by date and time. I recently purchased a camera the does up to 10 fps and the Downloader does not seems to have resolution to sort the micro-second or even second. I batch download the images and also do a rename of the files in this format yyyymmdd-###. I am finding my action sequences are all out of order. What I really just need the Downloader to do is sort by sequential camera number just like it comes out of the camera. Then all the images would be renamed in the right order. I tried modifying the XML settings file but that was no help. Am I missing something obvious?

From what I can understand, there are three problems:
1 - the inability of PSE11 to sort by filenames (recognized by Adobe, hopefully solved in ulterior versions...)
2 - the difference of behaviour of the downloader and the organizer (to my knowledge, not reported before)
3 - the fact that the 1/100th of seconds do not seem to be written to the exif by the camera. They are not saved in the sqlite database either...
That means that the difference of behaviour should be explained. If the organizer is able to show pictures in the right order when the date/times are set identically for a series of pictures, that means it is able to use the alphanumeric filename sort as a secondary criteria - the downloader should be corrected to do so.
Another question : besides renaming your files at download, do you use the automatic date folder creation of the downloader ?

Reduce folders in Windows 7 for pictures without causeing problems with PSE11

I want to simplify my Windows 7 folders and reduce the number of the folders. Can you please advise me on the best way to do this so as not to cause problems with PSE11 finding the pictures? Thank you.

The only way to move files or folders/subfolders without causing problems, that is not creating 'missing files' is to do this from within the Organizer, not the OS (Win/Mac).
You can create folders and move pictures from the Organizer.
Note that if you are moving the files of several subfolders into a single one, you run the risk of wanting to move files with the same filename into the same folder ; your OS won't allow that. So the Organizer will rename pictures if needed.
If you want to do such a big reorganizing task, absolutely do a full backup before. There is no advantage for such a reorganizing from an Organizer point of view, but if you need it for some reason, it has to be done from within the organizer.
