PSE12 slow loading Fujifilm files in slide show

I have just upgraded from PSE10 to PSE12 and now when I use the Slide show (full screen) in organizer with Fujifilm Raw files it take about a minute and a half to load up and same again when you zoom in. Is there any way of speeding this up in PSE12? It was slow in PSE10, but it did take over a minute in total.

Thanks (I think). Duhhh - my head hurts .
To me also Reply #11 seemed key. But I think on first read through the significance of:
With the lossy compressed DNG (scene-referred), you can do all the normal edits you're accustomed to with raw:  white balance, highlight recovery, changing camera color profiles, noise reduction, sharpening, lens corrections, etc.  With the normal JPEG in DNG wrapper (output-referred), you cannot
had escaped me as it seems counter-intuitive - "lossy compressed" just sounds more image degrading than "normal".
The jpeg compression algorithm is generally used to compress image files like tiffs or psds. It is based on the fact that our eyes are much more sensitive to the luminosity than the colors, and that results in a 'simplification', not a 'degradation' of the data. Imagine you have a very detailed map of an island printed 1 meter x 1 meter. You want to print it 30 cm x 30 cm. You'll downsample the image so that you get a good 300 ppi picture : you simplify to discard all details your eyes could not see in the 30 x 30 print ; that is lossy in the sense that you discard the less meaningful bits of data.
Note that using the jpeg compression algorithm on the just demosaiced raw file is possible because you can process the luminosity and color information from that stage. At that stage, the 'jpeg' compressed data is still an undefined image unlike the usual output-referred jpegs. Another compression algorithm could have been used, with less visual efficiency.
Since the link I gave in this post, the new version of Lightroom has taken advantage of the lossy dng compression in a very smart way. Lightroom keeps a catalog and a preview file for quicker browsing on its library. Instead of using normal jpegs as previews, you can use lossy DNGs of about the same size. The advantage is that if the catalog and previews are stored in a computer and the library in another drive, you can edit the raw files and store the results in the catalog even if the other drive is not plugged in. When you plug the drive in, you can sync the parametric editing in the catalog to the real full size raw images.

  • Cant Find .......  Choose File^ New Slide Show

I am trying to make a slideshow for the first time. ( iPhoto4.0.3) I can't find the .... " Choose File ^ New Slide Show " in the iPhoto File drop down menu to make a slide show, it only gives me New Album, New Smart, Close Window, Import, Export, Trash , Page set up, Print ... as options. After I figure this out and make a slide show with music, etc. What is the best option for burning it to a DVD for others to view on their home DVD player(s)

    Eric
With the iPhoto window in organize view you will see the slideshow option at the bottom of the window.
Select the photos or albums you want first then click on slideshow.
To save it, go to the menu and choose export, the export to QuickTime. Make your Quicktime selections - then export.
The Quicktime Movie file can be viewed by anyone with QuickTime installed.

  • Why I cannot add audio file to slide show because of decompressor code

I cannot add audio file to slide show because of compressor or decompressor needed in the system. Anyway to do this

If using MP3 files it sometimes helps to delete album art from the track.

  • PSE 9 Organizer error codec trying to add an Elements audio file to slide show

I am using PSE 9 to build a slide show. When I add audio, I can use mp3's  from my music library in the slide show without any issues ...
but I am getting the following error when I try to add an Elements audio file (example " A _Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3)
This is the Organizer error message:
"Unable to add the audio file (C:\ProgramData\Adobe\ElementsOrganizer\8.0\Music\A_Taste_Of_Sicily.mp3).
The selected file cannot be played because your system does not have the required compresser/decompresser(codec) installed."
I had PSE 8 and upgraded to PSE 9 - I noticed the error file detail shows 8.0 - Is this my problem - maybe an incomplete upgrade ?  (I've made several slideshows mixing photos and music, on an older computer using PSE 8 and never ran into this issue.)
Below is my system info in case that helps:

Does that file extension really have a space in it?  If so, remove the space.

  • Importing .wpl audio files for slide show in Elements 4.0

Once again I have to prevail on my fellow Photoshop users' expertise. Help! I am trying to import music files from a playlist in Media Player (Microsoft Home XP) into a slide show in Photoshop 4.0. I get error message "Cannot open file because it is the wrong type of file." (The files turns out to have .wpl extension. Have tried to move the files from Media Player first to "My Documents," then open them in Organizer or Editor, but get the same error message. (Have moved similar files successfully into SONY Vegas video editor all along.) Is there any way to convert the audio files to the format suitable for Photoshop (.wav or .wma)?

I think that sunny_afternoons.mp3 is one of the MP3s that comes with Photoshop Elements. In order to see that audio file within the PSE Organizer, you may need to change the View menu settings for media so you see the Audio files. (You can temporarily set it to display only Audio files to make them easier to locate. However, it is important that you then set it back to your normal options to display Photos etc - otherwise next time you use PSE you will wonder - What Happened to my photos?)
Once you find that mp3 file, right click on it in the Organizer and see if the Organizer can play it. If the Organizer can't play it then generally the slide show can not either. However, playing in the Organizer does help analyze problems but it is not a guarantee that the slide show will be OK. You might also check what is the default player software on your system for mp3's.
Other than that - I don't think I have any additional ideas. Since you are attempting to run in an environment for which Adobe offered no support and no statement that it would work, you might just have to try to debug your system on your own.

  • PSE12  problem adding audio media to slide show

I have followed the instructions but can't get the music to show up in the audio elements organizer..

    Hi James:
    Welcome to discussions.
You can get the songs you rip from your CD to export into iTunes by the following:
    1. iTunes - Pref - Advanced - Import. Change import using to MP3.
Now all new songs you rip from CD will export with iPhoto
To correct those songs already in iTunes so they will export, do the following:
    1. highlight song in iTunes Library
    2. Toolbar go to Advanced - Click Convert Selection to MP3
3.Now you will have a duplicate of that song in your library. The one just added that you converted, add MP3 to title
4.Use MP3 song in your slide show.
    5. Audio should export with photos.
Post back and let me know if this works for you. It does for me. You cannot change songs imported from iTunes this way; it will only work on songs from your CD. We will have to wait for updates for a permanent fix.
    Good luck-

  • SLOW load when file sent to CS3 from LR

I have recently purchased a new PC w/Vista installed. I was using LR and CS3 and all was going well for a while. When selecting a file from LR that I wanted to edit in CS3, it would load in CS3 almost instantly. I was so thrilled because it used to take quite a while under my old machine. Now, all of a sudden, when I chose to edit a file in CS3, it can take up to a minute or more to get the file to open. While it's trying, my CS3 will show as (Not Responding) in the title bar, then the picture will finally open up. Also, nothing seems to open up in Camera Raw anymore. Yes, I know that LR has CR "embedded" in it, but what if I still want to use CR in CS3?
Any thoughts on why the image load is so slow would be appreciated. I have 4 gb of ram, and a quad core processor.

Well, Well, Well, I actually found the answer to my problem in the CS3 forum.

If your default printer is a network printer change it to something local. If you don't have a local printer, that's okay. Just install any print driver you'd like and use that.
I recently acquired a new "document" printer that was installed as a network printer. It has been set as the default. As soon as I changed the default back to my Epson R1800, my files load up quickly again. Who'd uh thunk it? Bless Robert Levine! Now all I have to do is remember to send documents to something other than the default printer!

  • Loading Flash Files After Slide is Loaded.

Is there a way to trigger a flash file to play once the captivate slide has fully loaded?
    Thank you.

I did a bit of digging. The reason why this wasn't working is because the class in question was referenced by the nib files, but not in code. Therefore, while the code compiled and there were no warnings with the nib files, the linker was not linking the classes because no code used them directly.
This can be fixed by going to the Project Settings, and on the Build tab, underneath the Linking heading, adding -ObjC to the Other Linker Flags section.

  • Images loading before spry basic slide show

I'm using the "Spry Basic Slideshow" widget developed by the Adobe team, version 1.0, as found in the Widget Browser.  It works beautifully.  My only question is that on the iPad [and only on the iPad, the iPhone doesn't exhibit this behaviour!], all the images in the slideshow appear before the slideshow is activated so there is a moment when the images appear under each other and fill the page.  Then the rest of the page loads and all the images disappear and start only showing up as they are meant to in the slideshow area.  Is there any way of preventing this?
    http://www.towerltg.com/indexSlideShow.php
I've not made any changes to the files as they were initially issued with the exception of making my own control icons for play, pause, previous and next.
    Thanks!

Your spry assets folder MUST be in the same folder as that of your webpage with the slideshow (html, php... whatever)
Check your folder configuration on the server by clicking on the "Remote Button" on the DW Assets Tab.
Example 1:  This will not work:
    WEBPAGE HERE:    /server/public/myfolder/slideshow.html
SPRY ASSETS HERE:  /server/public/SpryAssets/....your javascript files
    Example 2: This will work:
    WEB PAGE HERE:  /server/public/myfolder/slideshow.html
SPRY ASSETS HERE:  /server/public/myfolder/SpryAssets/....your javascript files
    Hope this helps.

  • How can I display an animated graphic in a PDF file or slide show?

I have a simple animated graphic comprising eight layers in a PSD file created in Photoshop. Can I create a version of this which can be included in a PDF file or a slideshow. I do not want to display it on the web. Any suggestions would be welcome.

I'm confused now. Just how would an animated GIF be different from an animated PSD (if there IS such a thing). Sounds like your best bet would be to use the PSD to make an SWF and inport THAT to the PDF, because you can use an SWF in a PDF and it will play.

  • Assistance needed in trying to import MP3 audio file into Slide Show

I get the following message when trying to import an MP3 audio file into a slideshow in Organizer 9 "The selected file can not be played because your system does not have the required compressor/decompressor(codec) installed. I am pulling the file from my Itunes folder and I have not had problems with any other file I have downloaded from itunes and changed to an MP3 format.  Does anyone have any ideas?  I really want to use this song in a slideshow for my parents 50th Anniversary.

Best GUESS is that DRM is getting in the way of the file being used outside of iTunes (DRM = Digital Rights Mgmt = Copy Protection)

  • Adobe PSE 11 will not accept video files (in slide show)

Although my video files are in a format supposedly accepted by PSE 11, each time I attempt to insert a video file, I'm informed that the file was skipped because it is not one of the acceptable Windows video formats (which is incorrect as the files are in the organizer and listed as acceptable).
    How can this be corrected?
    Thank you

    Dale Mullen
Video files are not supported by the Photoshop Elements 11 Editor or any other version of Photoshop Elements (photo editor), but are accepted for placement in the Elements Organizer. The Slideshow Editor is a feature of the Elements Organizer (Windows), and it does not accept video inclusion unless "Windows video formats".
As an example, one of my cameras offers H.264.mov. But can be placed in the Elements Organizer, but are not accepted in the Elements Organizer/Create/Slideshow/Slideshow Editor. This is not something new to Photoshop Elements 11 or Elements Organizer 11.
What is the destination for your Elements Organizer 11 Slideshow...Premiere Elements 11? If so, place these video files in the slideshow once it gets to Premiere Elements after you used the Slideshow Editor command Edit with Premiere Elements Editor. Once the slideshow is in Premiere Elements using that command, you can right click the slideshow on the Timeline, select Break Apart Elements Organizer Slideshow, and do more editing, including video import with Add Media/Files and Folders/Project Assets to the Timeline.
Please do not hesitate to ask questions or ask for clarification, but what I just described is "it is what it is".
    Thanks.

  • PP suddenly very slow loading files, generating peak files

Project from yesterday suddenly extremely slow loading, syncing files and generating audio peak files. Using PP 2014.2 on HP Z800. SSD system drive, internal raid and three USB 3 drives connected to USB3 pci-e card. Suspect drive could be hanging up but not sure how to test since all was fine last night. Files are HD 23.98 quicktime prores

I also notice my CC connection needed to be reset several times. The Control Panel internet settings keep switching back on LAN from Automatically detect settings to Use a proxy server. My computer is dual 5650 processors, 24 g ram, so don't see that as problem, especially since this worked yesterday.
    Could really use help ASAP
