PSE7 Faces tagging doesn't work (No items are selected)

Hi,
I try to use the Faces tagging feature in PSE 7 (with windows vista 32bit sp1) but it doesn't work.
For some reasons, the faces tagging interface never display the photos I've selected. In the lower left corner, it says "No items are selected".
I tried selecting zero, one or more photos in the photo browser. When I select zero photos, it asks me if I want to find faces on all the displayed picture (I have about 5 000 pictures) but none appears in the faces tagging interface.
The menu item Find->Find Faces for tagging and the button Face Faces for Tagging give the same result (doesn't work).
Can anyone help me?

Thanks for the help, but it did not work :(
I tried two times:
1) The repair command said it did not find any error and I said No to "Repair anyway", then optimized.
2) Same thing, but I said yes to Repair anyway with the Visually similar content checkbox checked.

After updating iPhoto to the newest version I'm not able to name any face, actaually I'm but iPhoto simply doesn't remember it. Does anybody have similar problem?

Make a temporary, backup copy of your library if you don't already have one (Control-click on the library and select Duplicate from the contextual menu) and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

It sounds like you are having some trouble signing into FaceTime on your Mac. I would try the troubleshooting steps in this article named:

Error: Show Details cannot be executed when multiple items are selected in a report filter field or in a slicer

I have connected TABULAR Model to Excel, and in the pivot the filter is on multiple dimensions. When doing the drillthrough action it gives error - Error: Show Details cannot be executed when multiple items are selected in a report filter field or in a slicer
Is there any workaround to this error? so that drillthrough can be done even with multiple selection.

Hi Vikas,
The reason behind the error message requires the knowledge on what happens at the backend. When you perform a drill-through action, a query is sent to Analysis Services. This query is expressed in a query language called Multi-Dimensional Expression (MDX).
Since the MDX language doesnot support drill-through command against a set (collection of tuples) an error is persisted.
For now, there is no workaround as it is a limitation of the underlying language that is generating the query.
When multiple items are selected you lose the ability to drill-down on individual metrics. To resolve you must either:
1. Select a single Item.
2. Select all items.

Applet registered through object tag doesn't work

If i register an applet through <OBJECT> tag, the applet doesn't appear, but if registering through <applet> tag, it works.
what happens?

I just want to let know that actually I solved above problem just before with some minor change. but I still want to know why it works at this time because there is not so much difference between before and after.
the change I did is
1. I rewrite all html code into jsp code
2. in the jsp code, I specify the codebase with "<%= request.getContextPath()%>/aPath"
But as you can see, the code base is the directory that contains all the files, parent html file, iframed file and a classFile, although I changed some minor codes, that cannot make it work if it doesn't work without the minor code-change because eventually it has same context from code viewpoints.
As of now, I just take it as just a JRE bug. Can anyone let me know why it happens?

Dynamic versioning plugin tag doesn't work for Netscape using 1.4.1_01?

When I use dynamic versioning for plugin, for example:

It doesn't work for netscape 7. Although 1.4.1_01 was installed on the machine, the applet was not able to be loaded. Plugin was not found.
Anything wrong with the tag? It is OK for 1.4.1

SDO_NN doesn't work though tables are spatially indexed

As said Andrew Thomas, the Search function doesn't work today, so I don't know if the answer is already somewhere in the forum.
I' trying to perform a SDO_NN (nearest neighbor) search on a set of tables which are almost identical in structure. I first created a view in order to do 'ordinary' selects on the 'ordinary' columns.
Now I need to code request on spatial columns, with joins based on results from SDO_NN and values from ancillary function SDO_NN_DISTANCE.
As SDO_NN requires its first parameter to be a spatially indexed column and it is not possible to index a view, I create a temporary table on the fly, index it, insert a line into USER_SDO_INDEX_METADATA about this index and then launch my request.
I always get the following error:

As a general rule, whenever using an operator where the query window comes from a table rather than a constructor, try using the ordered hint and put the table that contains the query window (the second geometry in the operator) first in the from clause. You are right in that the table associated with the first geometry must be indexed. This query might be changed to:

Spacebar in CS6 doesn't work and hotkeys are shifty

I just recently downloaded CS6 from the creative cloud, the spacebar in CS6 doesn't work and switching cursor settings (brush, handtool, select all, move etc...) with the keyboard causes the program to pause for 1-2 seconds before the mouse will move again.
This is really obnoxious and ruins any workflow you want to have...
OH and I called Adobe support but that was a big FN' mistake.... most aggravating process and they are too damn skeptical about if you own the software or not!
Has anyone had issues w/ this?

You can try trashing your prefs (see Replace Your Preferences), but I don't think that's the problem, nor is there a general problem with book page numbering in CS6, so it's something that you've set incorrectly, or a step you've missed. Did you update the numbering after adding the files?

How Do You Control the Order That Menu Items Are Selected

I am using iDVD 6 with the Portfolio Theme (iDVD 5). I created a project with one 15-minutes iMovie project and seven slideshows (created in iDVD).
In Preview mode (or with the final) DVD, the order that entries on the main menu are selected does not seem to follow a logical pattern. As I try to advance using the right cursor, the second item (horizontally) is skipped. (I have two rows, each with four items). When I have one of the other three items in that row selected, the second item is selected if I hit the down arrow.
In 'flowchart view' the eight items are in the order I want them to be selected. That is, the item that is being skipped is in the second position on the flowchart.
Any insight on this would be appreciated.

I created an iMovie and then exported to iDVD, iDVD used the same sequence as the iMovie. When you build you Movie or slide show it follows the sequence that you place them in the time line. I have a Slide Show movie with video clips in the time line all of the shows and clips play in the order that I placed them. When you move through the menu use the right arrow to move accross the menu and the down arrow to move down to the next row. There is an button to move to the next menu. I have 13 chapters in my iDVD and they appear on 3 menus. Each menu shows 6 buttons you can edit the button titles and reposition them if you deselect the snap to grid and select the other option. When I open my project after exporting the titles overlayed each other. The buttons picted up my iMovie titles so I had to fix them and reduce the type size and move the buttons to separate them. The time line sets the order and the arrow keys move throgh the buttons on you Mac screen you can select with the mouse by clicking the button. On a DVD player you are stuck with the arrows and enter keys on the remote. You may have a glitch in your data check the time line along bottom of your original to see if the chapter markers are in position.

i am developing an app for windows phone and using listview to list items. i am using custom template for the listview item. this custom template contains labels, image and button.
i trying to update the other listview items while one item is selected or multiple item selected. to change listview item i am iterating over the listview and try to get custom template using visual tree helper class. using helper class i am able to retrieve
control from custom template. once i changing the image in listview if i scroll the listview vertically image changed to its default state.
is it possible to change the custom template values using visual tree helper class or do i need to do some other changes in my code.
please suggest.

You already have implemented binding in your code, just like you have bindings for TextBlock's 'Text' property, likewise you can defined a property for the 'Visibility' of image in the code behind
e.g.

NotifyPropertyChanged("_ImgVisibility");
Then in xaml file, bind this property with the Visibility property of Image and access it as per your requirement (e.g. on tap of an item)

Taglib tag doesn't work with web.xml 2.4 ?

That is, I switched to the 2.4 version of web.xml and now none of the taglib elements I have in there work.
I get the following excpetion
org.apache.jasper.JasperException: File "/tags/struts-html" not found
org.apache.jasper.compiler.DefaultErrorHandler.jspError(DefaultErrorHandler.jav a:105)
I've been surfing a good portion of the day looking for some documentation on this but to no avail. I did find that I should wrap the taglib elements in a jsp-info. I'm runing tomcat 5.0.19.

Finding out what is the trick.
I have Tomcat 5.0.28, but I don't think it would make THAT much difference.
What version of Java are you running?
You shouldn't need the entry for the JSTL library c. That works without an entry in web.xml, provided you use the correct URI.
First step: make a test page that only uses that one taglib - eg an html:base tag.
Confirm that it breaks with the current setup.
Backup web.xml, and start it from scratch with an absolute minimal one - only import the struts-html library.
Does that work?
Slowly copy and paste in the different bits of web.xml until you find what breaks it.

Why do I have to go to the parent folder because the tag doesn't work?

If I click on a Tag, which has the identical URL (Tag "Location") to what resides in the Parent Folder it will not access the website. However, if I go to the Parent Folder and click on the Bookmark the website can be accessed. The URLs were copied and pasted so there is no issue as far as the URL is concerned.
It seems as though something interferes or differs when using a Tag. Sometimes I've tried recopying the URL as displayed on the website and re-pasting it in the Tag Location (URL). That works but only on a temporary basis. The next time I access the Tag I can't connect to the website.
Is this a website issue, or a browser issue? Can a website know that a Firefox user is using a Tag to access it and won't allow access, but will if access is done through the Parent Folder?

The "Parent Folder" is an add-on. Browse Add-ons and you'll find it. If you don't have it, add it. It has been a worthwhile addition. What it allows is to right click on a tag. A drop-down menu appears that say, "Go Parent Folder".
This has been enormously helpful in organizing and being able to find stored Bookmarks, especially if you've got a lot of them.
But something seems to be happening more regularly. When trying to open a website using a Tag it will time-out. It takes many tries to connect, but if you "Go Parent Folder" to where the Bookmark is actually stored the website usually opens immediately. Since both the Tag and the Bookmark appear to contain the same URL to be accessed it appears that something is happening with the Go Parent Folder Add-on or the interaction with the Tag and the Bookmark that won't allow connection to the website.
I'm no programmer, but this is where I'd look to try and identify the problem. I'm currently using Windows 8.1 and this seemed less frequent before I gravitated from Windows XP Pro. Many of these links I've had going back to Windows 2000 Pro.

Bold in Character Tag doesn't work in cross-referenced text

Hi there,
I'm using cross references to insert sections of text that are repeated in two chapters. The referenced text includes bold text that is defined in a Character Tag. The chapter where I'm inserting a reference to the text has the exact same Character Tag in its Character Catalog (I imported the character formats to be sure). But the bolding goes away in the cross-referenced text. Any ideas on how to make the bolding show up?

I did another test, and the following are honored in Cross-References:
Family
Small Caps, Lowercase, Uppercase
Spread
Stretch
Superscript, Subscript
This works between files, in which case the local file can have different definition for the Character Format named.
It wasn't clear if these were honored: Pair Kern, Language
No other Character Format options were honored.
No source Paragraph Designer attributes were honored.
No local overrides were honored (well, actually, I saw a font come in on insertion, but it vanished on Update).
The above was using a simple <$paratext> Xref format. If your Xref format includes a Character Format that conflicts with the Character Format at the source, the source prevails.
If the Xref format was, say, <Symbol><$paratext>, the format's Symbol font changed all the incoming text that used a default font, but did NOT override a Character Format:Family [Albertus] at the source. Interesting.
