PSE7 - Invalid Serial Number?

I recently purchased a new laptop, which does not have a CD/DVD drive. I wanted to install my copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 onto the laptop, but without a disc-drive, I could not. I was able to download a copy of the installation files from Adobe, and everything installed appropriately. However - when it came time to put my serial number into the software, I was informed that the serial number was invalid. I de-registered and uninstalled the copy of PSE7 that was on my old laptop, but the software on my new laptop still will not recognize my serial number. I have double- and triple-checked the number, and it matches perfectly with what is printed on the back of the case for my hard copy. So, what do I do now?

I believe that for version 7 the serial numbers for the disk version did not work for the download versions or the other way round.
The easiest way is to find a friend who has a CD Drive and copy your disc to a USB memory stick. You should be able to install from there.

Hi Dave,
Is the same serial number working on desktop and marked as invalid on Laptop?? If yes, then you may want to delete the temp file by following the below steps:
1. Quit the PSE installer.
2. Go to Windows->Run and type %temp%.
This will open the temp directory, delete all the files and folders from here, (all the application create the temo files on launch again so there is no issues of any information loosing).Also remove the files from the Recycle Bin.
3. Again launch the installer and provide the serial number.
If the above doesnt work, then can you confirm that you are not trying to use a retail serial number on Try and Buy build? If you have downloaded the trial build from the net then the only serial number which would work would be the one bought by clicking on the Buy link in the trial screen.

Where did you buy it? Where did you download it from?
How many digits are in the serial number you are trying to use?

Acrobat XI Invalid Serial Number After Failed Install

Hello,
We currently have Adobe Acrobat XI on an enterprise license. I went to install this on 3 of our Windows 7 tablets. Prior to my attempt, I removed Adobe Reader XI which is what I always do. After that I started the installer on the machine and entered the key just fine. All 3 tablets got stuck around 96-97% and failed with an error 1935. I then followed the instructions located here:

Following a reboot, I tried to install again and now I am receiving the "Invalid Serial Number" error when trying to click "Next" on the installer. It won't even let me choose install trial and go. The next button does nothing when selecting trial. I tried running the offical Adobe Acrobat Cleaner and the Adobe CS6 cleaner (since Acrobat XI is part of CS6 technically). Both programs found items to delete but following a reboot I'm still receiving the same error. I also have other XI enterprise serials available and none of them work. I have a feeling something happened on the tablets that is causing the installer to think it's the wrong version or type for those serial numbers.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Invalid serial number error message when installing Acrobat 7

I have my original software CD and serial number but understand that I need to use the downloaded program because Adobe no longer supports the activation code required for installing from the disc. I was under the impression that I was to use the original serial number. This is what I used when reinstalling my CS2 Photoshop in the same circumstances.
I downloaded 22001904.exe and ran it but when it gets to the serial number I receive invalid serial number message no matter how I enter the number. I even tried cutting and pasting from my Adobe profile, since I have registered the program w/ Adobe previously along with other Adobe programs.
Can you advise me how to proceed?

no, use the serial number listed on the page where you downloaded acrobat 7, not your acrobat serial number

When I restored my new computer from the time machine, the software was transfer to the new machine, in the past when double clicking the icon it would come up and ask for the serial numbers. This time was the same with the exception of:
I did not enter an invalid serial number, I tried all the numbers I have. But none of them worked.
I will try to install from discs.

Photoshop CS2- Invalid Serial Number

I am installing my Adobe Photoshop CS2 on Windows Vista.
When I try to install the program after entering my serial number that is on the CD case,
the program states "Invalid Serial Number."
Customer Service gave me new serial numbers to attempt at fixing this issue and those numbers still yielded an "Invalid Serial Number" error.
Tech Support had me create new accounts with admin rights on my laptop (which didn't work) and then gave me a link
about the issue that had nothing to do with me since I have no VCOM software on my laptop (so that too was bogus).
I requested to speak to a manager where the agent diverted with giving me solutions that did not work also in which
he had me use this registry cleaner software and it still didn't work (I didn't have previous adobe software on my computer,
so it wasn't a surprise that it didn't work)
So... Does anyone know how I can install my program on my laptop without getting an Invalid Serial Number error?????

I've only had similar happen once, when I upgraded AI over about 3-4 versions. My S/N was from the first PC release, and the internal database in the upgrade did not recognize the format, or the S/N. In that case, a 5 min. call to C/S resulted in a number to enter from Adobe, and then it took my S/N fine.
Obviously, you've gone that route, and it's not working. Seems that things have changed with C/S, but I am talking over a decade ago. Are you talking to C/S (Customer Service), or T/S (Technical Service)? For "sales" related things, I have found that C/S is the better. I am assuming that they are still separate departments, though both might well be in India.
Now, one question, you say that C/S told you to run on one machine with "administrative rights." Did you try as an Administrator? These are similar, but there can be differences.
Wish I had something else to offer.

Adobe Photoshop cs4 extended invalid serial number

I just bought adobe photoshop cs4 extended from a large retail computer store.I had the trial version of photoshop cs4 extended.I uninstalled the trial version and installed from dvd.I got a Invalid serial number error.I am sure there was a software configuration problem .The reason ,the disk needs to verfy that you have the original disk,If that happens ,After installation ,Just delete this file C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD\cache\cache.db This is the location where it installed the serial . After deleteing it will create a new cache.db file and store the serial there that goes with that disk . When you open PS cs4 it will ask to enter serial again.Just enter the serial again that came with box ..I guess this would work also with adobe photoshop cs4

I encountered the same problem with Photoshop CS5 - I had the trial version installed, and now bought the extended version, but it keeps saying the license key is invalid. I did unistall, ran the cleanup tool, but it is still not working. Any help is appreciated.

I've recently got a new computer and decided to reinstall my old wacom bamboo drawing tablet that came Photoshop elements 8. Setting up the tablet was no problem but when i try do download the program it just says invalid serial number. I've tried the code on the back of the tablet multiple times but it never worked. Has the processed changed or is the error somewhere else?

Photoshop Elements "Invalid Serial Number"

I recently did a Windows 8 refresh, which uninstalled my Photoshop and Premiere Elements. Now, when I download using the Adobe Download Assisstant and try to enter the serial number displayed in my account under products, it says Invalid Serial Number, this is not a valid serial number, please go back and reenter your number. I don't have a box or CD, because Photoshop and Premiere came preinstalled on my computer. HELP!

I've checked the details on your account and from the looks of it you are using the wrong installer. As in your case Elements was preinstalled on your system, I would request you to reach out to the hardware manufacturer and request them to provide you a copy of the software.

If the serial number is from Adobe website then all you need to do is to copy and paste it in your PSE so that there isn't any error in copying the serial number and inserting it manually in PSE.

Installing new Retail version of Photoshop Elements, receive Invalid Serial Number

I purchased a new Box retail version of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 12 and before installing I am asked for the Serial Number. I enter it from the box but I get a message that says it is invalid serial number. How can that be if that is what is on the Box.

Hi Everyone,
I was able to solve it myself and in way should have provided more information. I was installing the software under the local Admin which in my Domain does not have internet access through our Proxy.
Once I logged on with my Domain Admin and tried to install the software, it worked with out problems. I was not aware that the computer needed access to the Internet to verify the Serial Number.
