PSE7 on XP - My .atn files have no "action" icon. How to fix?

I have had PSE4 & 7 on my computer for some time, so I uninstalled PSE 4 today. When I did, I lost the icon associated with all abr, atn, asl and other files (including those that came with PSE). By suggestion, I have already done the following: Ran a repair on Adobe Reader thru my "Add/Delete Software" option in Windows XP Control Panel which did nothing. I uninstalled PSE7 and reinstalled (per suggestion of Adobe rep) which DID fix all the icons (to the best of my knowledge) EXCEPT for the .atn files. I did the uninstall/reinstall again to no avail. Any suggestions on how to get my icons back and did the uninstall of PSE4 cause this problem? Thanks for any info.

Thank you so much for your response. I tried your suggestion. When I did the right click on the file it was considered an unknown file type. I now have the "pse" icon which is better than the generic windows icon (wish I knew if this windows icon had a name or could see it better to describe it). I would very much like to have the original .atn icon back. I really felt foolish asking my original question, thinking it must be a simple fix, but based on the number of replies I've received this must be an unusual problem. Bummer! Thanks again for your suggestion. Although it does not "fix" the issue, it may be the best that I can get. We'll see.

All Office applications will also try to open a temporary work file in the same location as the source file. This implies the source file directory also needs to be writable for this temporary file. Since the default HFS+ driver provides only read-only access, such temporary files will fail to open, and will cause the application to fail.
As a test copy the file you want to edit, say an Excel spreadsheet from the OSX file system to the C: drive on the Windows side and try to open it. If you look in this directory, you should see two files, the source and a temporary file. You may have to force the temporary file to be opened on a read-write file system, by manipulating the folder for temporary files.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

No. This is NOT true. I've been battling with this for a couple hours.
I choose Export>Versions
choose
Subfolder Format: Project Name
no custom subfolder
Name Format: Current Version Name.
Aperture creates project folders for each image and names them Projects1, Projects2, Projects3 etc.
To be sure, I have no project named Projects

This particular Aperture library has 16 projects. you can see in the screen grab it's created more than 30 folders
If I uncheck the Subfolder, that is say NONE, I just get images and images and images, not in their project folders (of course, because I've said NONE, so why would it put them in project folders?)
I just want to export the entire library and have the versions placed in folders named by the projects from which they came.... ez enough, no?

PS: forgot to mention: if your printer is on your wifi network, you'll have to enter your wifi password on the printer to connect it to the network before Printers & Scanners will see it.
Sometimes a reset of the wifi system is needed too. A full set of directions would be:
Try:
uninstall all printer manufacturer apps and "utilities"
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select "Reset Printing System..." and "reset" in the dialog that follows
do a factory reset on your printer. You'll have to consult the printer manual for how.
power down everything: modem, router, computer, and printer
power up each item in turn in the same order: modem, router, computer, and printer. Let each power up completely before moving on to the next
enter your wifi password in your printer so it can connect to the network
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and download a driver for it from Apple
resist the temptation to install any printer manufacturer apps in the future.

I have the same problem!! It lead to many other problems with my phone

I have had similar issues backing up to iCloud. Thy only thing I have found to work every time is backing up to iTunes and then doing a restore to my new device. That includes iPhone 6.

Same here on an older iMac since Lion. Thanks for the uncheck wake for network access tip though, it doesn't do it either in that case, I will leave it that way.

iCloud is not an icon, it is a menu in Settings, and requires iOS 5 or later. Update your iPad by connecting to iTunes to get iCloud.
