PSE7 - Problem Displaying Color - Help!

Okay, I have an issue that just started. I've been using PSE7 for over a year now and never had this issue before.
When I select a color on my color palette and then hit the bucket icon to fill a space, the color seems to do okay. When I select the eye dropper tool to select a color from an object and then try to fill that color, it comes out yellow everytime. It is not the color that is being used/displayed.
A few days back I added some colors to the color palette. It seems to have been happening since I did this. I reset the palette, but still the error.
I hope I explained it properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't want to have to go back and select the brush tool and paint it all in. And I should mention when using the brush tool to color in the space, it works fine. The color is correct.

Display color problem - asking for a color solution

So I have this serious problem with my Macbook Pro.
Some months ago I suddenly saw green colors in black area's and pink line colors in white areas.
Text on white background was extremely frustrating to read, since it was surrounded with small pink lines and flickering.
Note this was only near max white and max black areas of the screen.
I found out that it was due to a hardware failure, since slightly bending the laptop (!!) would remove the problem
Attaching an external monitor doesn't show the defect, and booting in Windows 7 (bootcamp) still shows the same screen problem.
Searching the web, it appears that it was a NVidia related heat problem, known to my model, but the offer to get it fixed for free by apple (since it was a known issue) had already run out december 2012 (!!). I think my laptop is about 3-4 years old, and the battery pretty much died on me the first year, probably due to heavy usage and the graphic card getting too hot. There are small sweat/corosion marks of where my hand are placed when typing, on the aluminium, due to how hot my laptop got. It sometimes got so hot I couldn't touch the aluminium on the top left corner near the 1-2-Q-W keys.
Fixing my Macbook is too expensive. Just getting someone to look at it to diagnose it (without repairing it), costs a lot in my country, and we have no official apple store, only authorized resellers. I know it's probably the motherboard, because I tried to unscrew the backlid and gently touch certain area's on the motherboard with a pen, while the computer was still running, to find out where the short circuit was. I only started this kind of trying to "self service" it, because I knew how expensive replacing the motherboard would be (if that was even the issue?).
I have multiple times tried to place something up against the sensitive area's on the motherboard, and then screw back the backlid, to put some pressure on it, which at first worked brilliantly and removed the color issue for some weeks, before it started reappearing. I think the heat from the laptop slowly makes the motherboard adapt, and the problem returns. Extremely frustrating indeed.
I hope I can one day afford a Macbook Air, but until then, I don't want to throw more money after my poor macbook (which I pronbably can't sell anyway, like previous mac's I've owned, the day get a new. It's too worn out + battery got only 5min on a full charge).
I think it's wisest to rather save the money for a Macbook Air, and try to survive until then. Therefor I was hoping someone could help me with a temporary solution.
In Windows 7, using the Nvidia Control Panel to apply color management, I was able to adjust the individual color output values, and thereby remove the the screen issue! Maybe the colors are not as good anymore, but it sure beats not getting a headache after 10minutes trying to read an article.
I tried the same thing on the mac, using Preferences>Displays>Color>Calibrate, but this guide is much harder to use to get a decent result (since only the last 2 options really makes a difference, but changes the colors completely, which I can't change by going back to the first color settings since then it just undos the last step I just did. I'm currently writing this with a very blue pale screen.
I also tried to use ColorSync Utility, expecting to enter values manually, but contrary to the articles I read about using ColorSync, I cannot edit the values in the color profile I created (I can only change the ASCII text input fields). Trying to save the profile gives me the error 'The Document "screenbug.icc" could not be saved.'
I tried to look for alternative color calibration software, but most of them required hardware, or expensive full version to unlock the settings I needed (like SuperCal).
I hope some tech savy users out there that can help me, or at least make my life with my macbook less of a pain.

PS: I've been a loyal Mac user since always. Few things I've learned is:
1) Don't buy the first version of new hardware. Wait about a month for reviews, to check for issues. I had a problem with an expensive MacPro that had to be replaced, but luckily for free since it was Apple's mistake. Sometimes Apple products also get minor internal changes/fixes without announcements, to help solve reported issues from early buyers.
3) Take care of you Mac, especially so because you can often sell your used Mac's for quite a value the day you want to upgrade. I've sold about 3 Mac's in my lifetime, for quite a gain, though I don't expect this macbook to do as well, if at all. But it's normally something to be cautious about.
3) Don't order custom configurations from the Apple Store, if you can live without it (+ it's usually crazy overprices). I payed extra to get the NVidia GeForce 9600M, and was happy with it for the first couple of years, but is now causing me all the problems I have today + made my Macbook worthless.
Stick with what the default configuration if possible, as other configurations might not have been tested carefully.

Also, if you have an iPhone 3G and iOS 4.2.1 is the latest software that you can install on your phone, then there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do to fix the problem if you want to install Skype that requires iOS 4.3 - what do you think anyone can magically do?
iPhone 3G is a very old phone now and if you want to install Skype on your phone, then you need to go out and buy a new iPhone - either a 4s or a 5. Nothing more to it. Buy a new phone.

Macbook display color problems

macbook, mac os 10.5.8 updated, display color problem. when i try to fix it by color sync. it says:

Display in two colors help

today somethingw eird happened, my screen is split in two halves, the uper half is displaying colors and hue normal, the bottom half looks like the hue and brightness is maxed out. the result is a screen wich has a dark upper and a light underside.
is the screen boken?

You can definitely use Sun ONE Web Server 6.1 ACLs to secure access to your application server.
Are you sure the problem is related to ACLs? That is, does the request start working when you disable the ACL (e.g. if you change uri=/PlantsByWebSphere to uri=/PlantsByWebSphereX)?
If you're certain things work okay when you disable the ACL, please share your access log, your error log, and your ACL and obj.conf configuration files.

Problems displaying in IE

While I love iWeb's ease of use, it seems to have serious problems displaying on IE. There is really no point blaming IE, since it is the dominant browser and most people who will see our sites will use it. The point of iWeb should be to allow people to communicate broadly and effectively, not just to Mac & Safari users.
Lists do not work well. The indents do not display properly. Text in boxes shift alignment and location. Bullets show up with different sizes. I have had to hand indent and line space all the lists in the sites I make, which is a mess and not scaleable.

Are there any workarounds or fixes?
The other obvious issues with iWeb are worth noting:
* inconsistent display in browsers -- pages look different in Safari and Firefox, even on the Mac (let alone IE)
* difficulty adding html code
* page names must be identical to nav names, so pages with multiple words (Get Involved) display urls as /Get%20Involved (can't be corrected unless you have Get_Involved as a header.)
* need to publish whole site for any change
* need to publish all sites for each change to any site
* can't change color, display, location, function etc for Nav
I assume everyone is aware of these problems. The question is, what to do? Grin and bear it? Any help, tips or ideas would be appreciated.

You can fix this the same way you add html code, by post processing.

You can fix this by separating your sites into different Domain files so you only publish one at a time.
Contrary to the other response, "encoding" is not connected to the points you made. There is never any need to add a UTF-8 "tag" to an iWeb page. If you see question marks or Â's when your page is displayed on any browser, Mac or PC, then you may need to fix your ftp or server settings.

Display colors suddenly off - all black objects red or red glow

Suddenly, display colors went off. The cursor arrow is now red. Script displayed on browsers is now black with red hue and overtone. Pictures all "glow" red where they are supposed to be black. I did consciously change any settings. Short of a "clean install," how can I restore the original color display settings, or could it be another problem?

Have you checked in System Preferences>Displays>Color tab for settings there? Is your normal Display Profile selected? You may want to try calibrating by clicking on the button found in that pane and see if you can improve your display.

Problems with colors on dock.

I noticed today that when I look at the dock the colors seem to be messed up. The finder icon is a yellow color and instead of white dots under what is open, it is now yellow. Also in Safari, when a page loads the loading graphic in the address bar is a shade of green.
I have looked through the appearance setting and even though it says Blue for highlighted color, it appears as a lime green. I have made changes to the display color settings and nothing has changed it back. Most of the other colors seem correct so I don't know what is going on.
Can the color profiles get corrupted and is there a way to reset or restore them?

Thanks for the response. It was screwed up before I touched anything. I had everything set back to the original profile with no help before I posted on the board. And I noticed that the problem is affecting more than what I originally posted. Can I reset the display profiles somehow?

Strange problem with color measure in Mac.

Hello, I am having a strange problem with color measure in Mac. For example i create a gradient in Photoshop from color 200 200 200 to color 240 240 240. When i measure the color of the gradient with the color measure tool of Photoshop or with the built in OS X color measure tool the measured color is from 200 199 197 to 240 240 238. I have measured the same gradient with Photoshop for PC and the values are OK (the same values that i create).
I dont know what is the problem, but i belive that the colors that i create would be the same that i measure after creating them, and also the same values between Mac and PC. I will appreciate it a lot any help or information that you could give me that helps me to understand what is happening here.

Yep you got it, proof as monitor basicaly strips out any profiling and just delivers it straight.

You mean the document colors - No, like I said photoshop is filtering your image through document profile, proof setup and monitor profile. Why do you want to use Digital color meter anyway for this?

Because color values are 'bigger' than whats on your monitor. Your monitor (via photoshop) is only doing the best it can to display those values - which can be anything from LAB colors outside the gamut of your monitor - to CMYK colors. Calibrating it is the only way to allow your monitor to do this in any way accurately. (not ever really possible) Monitors have a certain gamut and are only dispays/representations of the REAL colors that a document, with a profile, holds. So there's only one good reason to measure monitor values, and that's to generate a monitor profile.

Print Cartridge problem : [Tri Color]

I have HP officejet 4500. On installing the new cartridge, I get error message "Print Cartridge problem : [Tri Color]. Refer to device documentation for troubleshoot." I have run diagnostic test 41 and it shows Previous error as "Pen in left chute has too many good resistors, probably means shorted fires". Can somebody help me what does this error means?

Make sure the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (don't use a power hub or a surge protector) This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation. I have provided a document with some steps to try to see if that will resolve the issue. Manually cleaning the cartridges and contacts and resetting the printer.'Incorrect Print Cartridge' or 'Print Cartridge Problem' Message Displays on the Computer. Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?

IPad2 display colors are strange.

iPad2 display colors are wrong. When I reboot the device by holding down both the home button and the sleep/wake button for 10 seconds, the screen with the Apple logo in the center is bright red instead of dark grey. Does this indicate a hardware fault? Was working normally until a few days ago.

Settings>General>Accessibilty>Invert Colors>Off. Did you check that?
I just checked on my iPad and apparently that is not the problem. If your screen has turned red, try tapping the iPad on the back a couple of times and see if that helps. Read this discussion.

Weird Problem with X6, help please!

I have got this weird problem with my nokia X6, it's display shows lines and merged colors when turned on. It started happening after I got my Nokia X6 fixed for broken screen, 15 days later after getting it fixed it started showing such display. I figured out somehow to unlock my phone while in such display horror and figured that opening a heavy app like OVI store brings back mobiles display. I don't want to send same people my mobile again. Just want to know what can be done to fix this problem. PLease Help!

Yeah, it was a nokia care center. Anyway I fixed the problem luckily. It just needed some updates. I never thought not updating can cause this problem.

Problem displaying CLOB in text file

I have a problem displaying the content from the database in notepad. When I click on a link on my jsf screen, I retrieve the data and display it in notepad.
I have my text content stored in the database with CLOB datatype. When I look in the database the data looks in the following format:

All the new line characters are lost and it just puts some junk character in place of a new line.
When I copy the same text onto textpad, everything is alright and it displays exactly the way it is present in the database. I am also open to display the content in html, but in HTML it doesn't even display me the junk character in place of new line. It is just one single string without any line separators.
I am using the following code to put the content into the text.

The data is imported from a third party application to my database. It doesn't display any newline characters when I view the data.
But when I do a regular expression search on text pad, I could see that my clob contains \n as the new line character. Is there a way to replace \n with \n\r while writing the data.

I briefly describe the system setup.

System setup with Oracle dataguard feature, so ourworld-0 and ourworld-db can fail over to disaster recovery systems sptldr and sptldevdb at another site. Although we installed using the SAPINST_USE_HOSTNAME for SCS/central instance the visual administrator and message server still pick
up sptltrex. We though setting the SAPLOCALHOSTFULL to ourworld-0.sap.serco.com had fixed this issue, but this generated many iview errors that
could not be found. When the SAPLOCALHOSTFULL was backed out everything
began to display again. Although there is still intermittant errors of screens not acting as required.

We have had numerous OSS messages for various continuing problems on the system. Today we have an complete up-to-date as possible patched system. SPS 9 with all the latest sub patches also. We have installed AIX TL 05 with service pack 2 so oslevel -s shows 5300-05-02 + a related db APAR, the IBM java JDK is SRS06. Full earlywatch go-live check parameters and options have been completed.
But still we have problems.
can anybody help......it's urgent....

We have a 3-server portal installation with one j2ee dispatcher and two
j2ee servers on each server.
We are experiencing major issues with the consistency or
synchronisation between the servers and availability of portal applications.
For example the themes editor is only available on sptl1 server0, so if
you are lucky and log onto that server you can use this application.
THIS IS ONE OF MANY examples of this type of issue. How can we ensure
that the landscape is consistent? Screen shots from sptl1 showing the
themes application being available and not available.
A simple look at the filesystem reveals the following, and only the
themes editor directory and contents are on sptl1.
JSPM deployment finished successfully.

The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
Calibrate the monitor
