PSE7-to-PSE9 Upgrade - Editor can't find any printers
I recently upgraded from PSE7 to PSE9. Now, when I click on file/print for a non-jpeg image from the editor, after several minutes it tells me that there are no printers, or the editor just locks up. So, I have to print from PSE7.
How can this issue be resolved?

I just discovered a possible work-around for the issue:
Select an image in the organizer and then click on File/Print.
If the "Prints" dialogue box appears and your printers are visable in the "Select Printer" drop-down menu, then
Close the "Prints" dialogue box, select an image for editing.
Click on File/Print in the editor. The "Prints" dialogue box should now appear in the editor. You probably just need to select Print in the organizer once to active it in the editor.

So i just had my hard drive replaced, and Apple did a clean install of the os. I was in my office to day adding the network printers. The only drivers found for all the HP printers was a "Generic Postscript". What am i doing wrong? Are there other printers that need to be loaded from original Install DVDs? I had many other choices in the past.

so that u can be sure whether the printer drivers is in the disc or not.If ur printer is not listed there,then u need to go to HP website and download that.
If you would like to install any of the optional printer drivers after installing Mac OS X, insert the Install disc into your computer and use Optional Installs
Tiger 10.4 comes with most updated drivers but not all. -
N8 Video Editor - Can't find music tracks
My N8 video editor can't find any of the 2500+ music tracks (mostly AAC files and rare MP3s) that I have in the music library.
It can only find 4 AAC alarm tones that I imported from my N95 8GB.
What's wrong with it ?Just had this myself as well - seems there should be an icon just under the Library for Music Videos but there is not at the moment. Have not found a way to add one either.
My solution was to simply create a smart playlist and choose the option 'video type' and set to music video. This created the list of all of my music videos.

Can't find any Bonjour printer in XP
On my iMAC, I installed a Canon MP750 printer, which works fine for my iMAC.
I shared the printer on the iMAC via system preferences.
I installed Bonjour 1.4 on the 2 XP machines in the network.
In the bonjour wizzardhowever, I can't find any printers.....
The command dns-sd -B ipp.tcp results om my IMAC in:
Timestamp A/R Flags if Domain Service Type Instance Name
17:07:08.184 Add 2 4 local. ipp.tcp. Canon MP750 @ iMac
On the XP-machines I get no result at all. So for some reason the printer isn't visible for the bonjour wizzard on the 2 XP-pc's.
I disabled the firewall on the XP-machines.
I spend many hours reading tips etc, in trying to get this to work, but without any result yet.
I hope someone can help me to solve this, so I can print from the XP (SP2) pc's to this printer.
Thanks !I had the exact same problem. Printing was fine via Bonjour in Parallels, but didn't work anymore after switching to Fusion. I solved it, though, by following the instructions from the vmware education site:

Disable your pop-up blocker, then click on the "VMware Fusion 1.0 Printers" tutorial. If you are using Bonjour, you can skip down to step 9 in the presentation.
For me the crucial step was releasing and renewing the IP address that my VM uses, but there are a few steps, so you should watch the tutorial to make sure you are on the right track.

I have been working on a wedding slideshow for days and have over 3,000 pictures in albums on iPhoto. It suddenly will not open without upgrading to Aperture and I can't find any of my photos!!!! I need these photos, to complete the video, not to mention I don't want to lose them. I have had trouble ever since upgrading to Maverick.
Try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window.
2 - Run Option #4, Rebuild Database. -

Trouble opening a just created Pages file.....error message says I need a newer version of Pages......Apple Store says I have version 5.0.......opening an older Pages file it says I have version 4.3.......can not find any way to try another upgrade to 5.0........please help......
ThanksPersonally, I would not recommend deleting/removing the iWorks 09 folder for several reasons: one is that the new versions have had several functionalities removed and until you decide that you can work with the new one and do not miss any features the older version had, I would leave the old one in place. Personally, I will not be using the new versions.
The second reason is that you can accomplish what you want using a different approach: simply open a Get Info window of your document and choose which version of Pages you want this to open in - you can also stipulate that all docs like this are opened with whichever particular version.
FWIW: Once you have edited an old document in the new Pages version, you can no longer open it in the older version. However, you can still export it to the old version. -

I have an older iMac running 10.7.5. It has iPhoto 6.0.6. I am trying to upgrade iPhoto, but cannot find any way possible to buy or upgrade it beyond present level. Recognize may not be possible to get 'current' but would welcome getting as close as possible...

I've recently upgraded to Lightroom5.7.1 and now when I try to import photos a window pops up saying 'the photos can't be imported 'cos the files can't be read'. I had no problems before upgrading. I have Windows8 & can't find any 'app' which sets the type of files I can import. Any help appreciated.
Well, think about it. This is a Lightroom forum. We are here to answer questions about Lightroom and how to solve problems in Lightroom. Your permissions issue is an operating system issue, not a Lightroom issue. I didn't mean to be sarcastic. But there are plenty of Internet resources that will answer that question.
I just went to Google and typed in "change disk permissions", and there are links for the Mac as well as for Windows listed. There's no sense in me rewriting instructions that are already available. -

Pretty much like it says up top.
I have a 27" imac that was running 10.6. Now that I upgraded to 10.7, it thinks it's a 24" for some reason and the resolution differential is making my mouse track annoying slow while inside programs. (But not on the desktop, oddly.)
