PSE9's dark theme - can it be changed?

I'm a convert from Photoshop to PSE9, and the first thing I noticed was that the PSE9's application theme was dark, namely a black screen with white lettering that doesn't stand out for me. The community help screen offers a dark/light theme choice, and the light theme is much better for me to work with. I haven't been able to find a way to alter the main PSE9 theme from dark to light. Is there an option to do this? I am close to giving up on this application due to the constant irritation of its theme color, at least for me. I don't want to change settings for the entire computer, as this is the only application I'm having trouble with.

Another thread on the forums with the same problem:

Below is a reply from Carey (an Adobe employee)
"As I understand it, the engineers queried a number of users and they all indicated the reason why they wanted to adjust the interface colors was to increase contrast/readability. Essentially, people were not able to read the text and such in the interface.
The engineers did a great deal of work to identify what parts of the UI were not easy to read, and made changes so that it was easier to read. You should be able to see these changes if you compare Elements 8 to 9.
Pretty much the only thing you can change is the font face being used in the Organizer. To do this, go to Preferences > General, check Use System Font, click OK, then restart the application.
If you want more control of the UI appearance, let our engineers know that, and let them know why. Here's the form to submit the information:

    When user opens my website, Can I remotely change the user's desktop image? Is it possible? Please Help me.
    thannks in advance

    Hi,
    When user opens my website, Can I remotely change the
    user's desktop image? Is it possible?Unsing JSPs it's not possible to change the user's desktop
    theme.JSP are processed at server side and the output of JSPs
    in most cases will be an HTML file which is used for rendering
    your site content but won't provide any access to system resources.
    But you may embed client side scripts like Java Script or VB Script
    in JSPs to change the desktop theme if and only if these client
    scripts provide access to change the client desktop theme which is
    not in our scope.
    Hope this helps.

    where can i get a dark theme for itunes 11 mac

    If your phone is running iOS7  it requires iTunes 11 which in turn requires OS 10.6.8 or higher on the computer.  You will probably need to upgrade your operating system version.
    You can probably upgrade to Snow Leopard, but check system requirements first. Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).  Compare with:
    Snow Leopard 10.6 Technical Requirements - http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
    You can buy Snow Leopard at:
    Snow Leopard disc source - http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    After installing run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

    An iDevice can only sync with one library at a time.  If you attach it to a different library it will erase the content becfore syncing to that library.  Unless your business is music I probably wouldn't sync to a work owned computer.

  • Adjust Arch forum text with dark theme

    I have written 2 greasemonkey scripts (these are usually helpful for people with dark themes):
    - One that changes the subject box and buttons to white text
    // ==UserScript==

    // @description Displays dark text on an Arch Linux page.
    // @include http://bbs.archlinux.org/post.php*
    // @include http://bbs.archlinux.org/edit.php*
    // ==/UserScript==
    function addGlobalStyle(css) {
    var head, style;
    head = document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0];
    if (!head) { return; }
    style = document.createElement('style');
    style.type = 'text/css';
    style.innerHTML = css;
    head.appendChild(style);
    addGlobalStyle('input { color:white; }');
    - One that changes the message box to black text
    // ==UserScript==
    // @name Arch Linux Light Text Fix

    style.type = 'text/css';
    style.innerHTML = css;
    head.appendChild(style);
    addGlobalStyle('textarea { color:black; }');
    Save those into a text file with a .user.js extension and import them into greasemonkey.

    Well, a screenshot wouldn't be of use, because the text is a very dim white, and you wouldn't even be able to see it. Just imagine what it looks like
    But here it is anyway. If you look really closely you can see the text "This is white text".

  • HTML client dark theme loading

    If you use the dark theme, the header area shows white for a few seconds until the page is fully loaded. I was unable to find where to alter this in order to have the background dark while the screen loads. Anyone know how to do this?  Thanks.

    Hi,
    You can change the theme easily in the default.htm file.
    Change light-theme.css and msls-light.css to dark-theme.css and msls-dark.css respectively to use the dark theme.  Alternatively, you may replace light-theme.css with a custom jQuery Mobile theme.
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Content/light-theme.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Content/msls-light.css" />
    change above code to below:
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Content/dark-theme.css" />
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="Content/msls-dark.css" />

  • Gnome-system-monitor (dark remix) 4 those using dark themes

    hey fellow archers,
    I'm a guy who digs dark themes, i am also someone who uses Gnome. Something that has irritated me for years is gnome-system-monitor ~ specifically, when using a dark theme. those white graphs (CPU graph), are just brutal. At work, i use CentOS on a couple of machines, while i don't use gnome with a server (obviously..lol) i have usedf CentOS with gnome before and had made note of the fact that it had a dark graph, and no ugly highlight bar in the 'system' tab, which was a little bit nicer on the eyes.
    well, today i decided to fix the default colors for that graph, and i also decided to remove the stupid cairo-gradient that greets you in the 'system' tab. i did this because i prefer a nice graphic, over having a plain gnome logo, and a tacky gradient, it just doesn't need to be there.
    here is what it looks like;
    here is my gitorious branch where the sources are available;
    git clone git://gitorious.org/gnome-system-monitor-blackgtk3/gnome-system-monitor-blackgtk3.git
    you all use archlinux, so i need not explain how to compile it and this is gnome-system-monitor 3.1.4 (development) but i have not noticed any bugs whatsoever.
    I am thinking of making a pkgbuild for AUR, that would pull from Gnome's git repo, and then apply a patch. Currently i have 2 roughed out patches (that work), but i have no experience writing patches, or even making pkgbuilds. if you are interested here is what i have got;

    I spend way too much time both at work/home in front of a computer. dark is the way to go. so much more relaxed on the eyes.
    Yes, i have (thought about putting it into AUR).  in the short term it was just quicker to throw it up on my gitorious though. As i said above, i haven't really made too many patches, and i currently only maintain one package in AUR, so i have a little reading to do, first. that's also why i posted my patches. in case someone has something to point out, aside from the obvious thing - which is that i need to modify the first part of the patch, as i can ditch a 1st couple directories ...
    Ideally, it will end up in AUR...  But, i will probably also have my gitorious branch sync'd to gnome's branch, and i will create a patch using GIT to maintain my branch ~ so that people outside the Arch community, can have easy access too. plus, who knows, i may change around some other things as well. in the 3-4 hours i have been using this 'mod', i am way happier than with the upstream version.

    (ios5 ipad bugs)I can't get changes of album art, artist, album and other tags to show up in the iPad music player, but they show up correctly in the iTunes device view. Certain random songs do not sync correctly.   Wifi sync hasn't worked yet.
    I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
    I don't sync  music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
    I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
    I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
    I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
    Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
    When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
    Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them.  Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view.  I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
    These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes.  My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.
    Thank you for actually making it to the end of this manuscript of annoyances.

    Just wondered if anyone had any other suggestions.

    I fixed the To: autofilling incorrectly by deleting my email address from the Previous Recipients List, but is there a way to stop that from coming up on emails that I receive?

    Have you checked your Mac address book? If your email is saved somewhere in your address book with the name "Holidays in the United States" it might be adding the name automatically in Mac Mail.
    Alternatively, try this:
    Delete an Email Address from Auto-Complete in Mac OS X Mail
    To remove an email address from the auto-complete list in Mac OS X Mail:
    Start typing the recipient's address or name in a new message.
    Select the desired address from the auto-complete list as if you'd compose an email to them.
    Click the small down arrow in the recipient.
    Select Remove from Previous Recipients List from the menu.
    You can also search for the unwanted address directly in the previous recipients list:
    Select Window | Previous Recipients from the menu in Mac OS X Mail.
    Highlight the address you want to remove.You can highlight multiple addresses by holding down the Command key.
    Click Remove from List.

    2. How do they save their changes after making them? I just checked the link created when sharing the spreadsheet and I didn't see a save button in the browser.
    3. Which browsers will others be able to view/edit the spreadsheet in? Will it also work on PC?
    Thanks!

    You can create a "master" path and then link all of the other paths to that one with an expression. You don't even need to write the expression yourself; you can just Alt-click the Mask Path property stopwatch for a child mask and drag the expression pick whip to the master Mask Path property. You can link the paths of shape layers the same way.

    And second, why you guys are trying constanly to ruin something that is working perfectly ? Going to revert to the previous version until you fix all these nuisances.
    Regards

    There is no way to do this, it is designed to be strictly landscape with keyboard, portrait without - not the best thought-out phone on the market, mainly geared towards compulsive texters and e-mailers.
    There's no way to know whetherNokia will change this with any future updates, perhaps you should make the recommendation to them directly using the 'contact us' link.

  • How can I temporarily change the Apple ID on an iPad

    I would like to share a book with my wife on her iPad. Can I temporarily change her account to just share the book and not disturb our individual apps?

    If you mean that the iPad is tied to another user's iCloud account, you have to ask them to erase the device for you. You can't do it on your own. The device requires their Apple ID and password in order to turn off Find My iPad and to delete the iCloud account.
    IF you just want to sign into another Apple ID (not recommended either) go to Settings>iTunes and App store>Apple ID and sign out of that ID and sign into your ID,
