PSE9: Uploading from card - how to select pics?
When I upload from my card reader, the photo downloader selects all the pictures on the card. In my older version, I could select certain pictures to go into various folders. Now I have to move them after they've loaded (pain in the neck). In the Help info, it says you can select pics to upload in the Advanced dialog of the Standard Dialog Box. Under Preferences, I see no Advanced dialog. Am I missing something? (I am using a trial version.)
I tried numerous ways to up the resolution even in the graphics card itself and it just would not allow it. I just don't understand why the advanced tab is available in Elements 8 and it works but not in 9. What I will do for now is upload the photos in 8 and then import them into 9 from there. I think this is something that adobe needs to fix. Thanks for your help.

I know how frustrated you feel. What I can tell you is that changing the resolution made it work for me. I didn't reinstall and it worked. Sorry I can't help more. My computer skill level is very low. Would your screen resolution just be below the standards?

I was trying to download my pictures from my iphone to my MAC for storage so that I can erase them off my iphone but could not find an easy
was to do this? The whole sync operation seems cumbersome and only allows you to upload photos from your MAC to your iphone - but that is the
exact opposite of what I need! Also I have many pics so I don't want to use iCloud. All I want is just to take the pics from iphone and download
them to my MAC? Am I asking for too much ? Can anyone help me?

PSE 6 catalog corrupt and gone Can't upload from card.
I have been using pse6 for awhile. The other day I went to upload pics from my card. It created the folder but would not upload it to my catalog. Message said "Did not contain supported files. I went to my organizer and nothing shows up. Tried the catalog repair but it can't fix it. Shows no photos from last 6 mos or any other folders. UsingXP. Thanks...

The iPhone is not coming up as a device in iphoto
Have you set iPhoto to open, when a cemera is connected? This option is set in the iPhoto preferences, Genral tab. Sete it to iPhoto.
If that is not the problem, check the same settings in Image Capture:
Connect the iPhone and open Image Capture.
Select the iPhone in the Devices list and then at the bottom of the window.
Select want you want to happen when you connect the phone.

How can you select which pictures to upload from camera? plus facebook ?
Is there any way to select which pictures from your digital camera you would like to upload on to iphoto? Or is the only way to upload all of the pictures on your camera? I have 214 pictures on my camera and 210 of them are already in iphoto...i only want to upload the new 4!

This sounds like you're uploading the Thumbnails that iPhoto uses to display the pics in the iPhoto Window not the pics themselves. Have you been uploading from the Data folder in the iPhoto Library Folder?
There are three ways (at least) to get files from the iPhoto Window.
1. Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size.
3. Show File: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

before you fiddle with it you may want to back up your photos on your PC. This is how to move them from phone to PC.
How to Transfer photos from HTC memory to PC
1) From the phone: select: Menu>settings>connect to pc>as disk
2) Attach phone to pc with usb cable
3) From pc open: Computer>removable disk F>dcim>100media
Note: you can also pull the mini sd card out of you phone and plug that directly into your computer. just make sure to unmount the disk through your settings options before you remove it from the phone. -

How can I process pics in Lightroom that I have uploaded from my IPad? I have managed to copy pics from the IPad into a file located in My Lightroom Pictures (and located on an external Hard Drive), which is where I put all my pictures. I an see the file in Finder and can even work with them as a Project in IPhoto, but nothing happens in Lightroom.

Note that by default the pictures are placed in the “My Pictures” folder. Once imported you can see your photos there and use whatever application you want to view or manage them.

I am trying to upload short MP4 videos from my iPad 2 running iOS 5.1.1 to Flickr. These videos were taken on a Panasonic FZ150, and I am able to upload videos from this camera from my iMac when I am at home. (I am currently thousands of miles from home, which is why I want to upload from my iPad.)
I can upload photos from iOS iPhoto, but when I select videos, the selection count does not increase, and so they are not uploaded.
There is no Flickr app for iPad, but I tried the iPhone app, and was able to upload photos. However, when I try to upload videos, I always immediately get the error message:
"An error occurred. We could not upload your video. Please try again."
Frustratingly, there is no indication of what the error is.
Finally, I tried the Flickr website uploader page, but all the "Choose File" buttons were dimmed, so apparently there is no attempt to integrate ithis page with iPad,.
I have had the same experience several times over the last few weeks in different locations, including private homes and hotels, none of them corporate offices with strong firewalls, and I am not running any firewall software other than standard iOS.
I welcome any suggestions, workarounds, etc., that will enable me to upload videos from IPad to Flickr.KRDHarris-
I am not familiar with Flickr, but found their support page at <Flickr Support>. You may get better help there than here. I get the impression that the App is somewhat buggy.

I am trying to upload my PDF file from my iBooks but its only giving me the option to upload from my pictures/gallery. How do I get it so I can upload from my iBooks or move my PDF files to my gallery so I can upload it?
I'm having the same issue. I saved a PDF from an email into iBooks. I'm on apple applying for a job but the only option the upload button has is from the Photos file. How ironic right? Luckily I'm in Logistics and not an IT specialist applying for this job! Lol. Does anyone know the fix?

How can I erase a photo album that was uploaded from an old computer that I don't have no more? I have other albums in the Iphone that I don't want to delete.
If you sync with the new computer it will erase the current content from the iphone and replace with the selected content of the new computer.
The pics that you have taken with the iphone should be imported regularly to your computer as you would with any digital camera. You can then organize them and sync them back to the iphone if you wish.
If you have had itunes perform a backup on the new computer, you should get the pics taken with the iphone back, but I would import them before trying anything. -
