Pshop or Premiere to unify a series of time lapse stills ?

Hi,
Does Premiere Pro CS3 have an inbuilt ability to unify the appearance of a series of stills taken at varying times throughout the day ?
I have taken photos on a fixed focal length, from the same position, all on the same shutter speed priority setting, of a scene as a building in it changed over the course of that day.
I wish to unify their appearance so that in the video I make of them, as I fade from one to the next the building changes but the rest of the scene generally stays constant regards appearance. They were all taken on a digital slr (Canon) in RAW mode.
What is the best way to do so. Is this a job for Premiere or Photoshop ?
Is this best dealt with in the RAW converter Pshop window prior to conversion to tiff ?
A step by step explanation is ideally sought if Premiere, as opposed to 'use the *&^% tool' .
I have asked over at Pshop for a method should it be that program I need to use.
This could be of use for anyone doing timelapse stills.
I will align these in Photoshop as a psd file as layers taking solid features that remained visible throughout as my alignment reference points, then crop to a suitable size to encompass all bearing in mind the proportion required for the video format and resize to a suitable video making resolution then get them into Premiere and fade between them.
I have Windows Pshop CS2 and awaiting installation is CS4. I also have Premiere Pro CS3

This is a perfect job for PPro, however you will need to use PS to batch resize the images before importing them into PPro if they are more than twice the size of your project's frame size.
So, step one is to resize the images.
Step two will be to import the images, not as a numbered sequence of stills.
Step three will be to "automate to sequence", selecting the "apply default transition" option.
See Add clips to a sequence automatically in the PPro Help for further details.
You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.
Cheers

    Hi S R,
Order series is the concept used in SNP whereas time series is concept used in DP.
ie In SNP, orders are stored in livecache as Order series whereas in DP, the historical data is stored with respect to time, ie time series in DP.

  • How to create a time-lapse with Premiere Elements?

    To whom it may concern,
I have a DSLR (Rebel T3i) and I am planning to set it to take pictures every so often. I heard there was a way to do it within Premiere Elements and would rather save money since I already own this great software. I would like to have the steps to do so as soon as possible.
    Sincerely,

  • Time-lapse video from existing series of pictures...

I am new to Premiere Elements and looking for instructions on creating a time-lapse video from a folder of still pictures taken using a GoPro camera.  So far the Help has only discussed creating time-lapse from a video feed.  great thanks for any suggestions...

    Welcome to the forum.
If you are ONLY using Still Images, and no Video, then you will want to determine your delivery, say DVD-Video, or BD, or posting to YouTube in SD, or HD. That will determine the Project Preset that you will choose.
Let's say that you will wish to deliver the Project via a BD (Blu-ray Disc). If so, then you can choose a 1920 x 1080 Project, at either 30 (29.97) FPS for NTSC, or 25 FPS for PAL.
I would Scale all of my images to 1920 x 1080 in Photoshop, or Photoshop Elements. This can be easily done with an Action for an entire folder of Images. See this ARTICLE for some tips.
As for Import, there are probably two ways to handle that, but someone will have to give you exact instructions on the second, if PrE now supports Importing Numbered Stills Sequences, like PrPro does. I believe that it now does, but use PrPro for such, that I have not explored it. The other is pretty straight forward. When I Scale my Still Images, I number them sequentially, so that file ____00001 is followed by ____00002, etc. through the last Image in the sequence.
This next part might take some experimentation, depending on the intervals, that you have set your Go-Pro to shoot, and the "look," that you want. For pure Time-Lapse, a Duration of 1 Frame is probably what you want, but if you wish a bit more of a Stop-Motion look, then you might want, say 3 - 5.Frames. For most of my work, I will go with the 3 - 5 Frames, and use very short Cross-Dissolves between each Image. After you have done the experimentation, go to Edit>Preferences and set the Still Image Duration. Then, Import the Stills, or if possible in PrE, Import the Numbered Still Sequence, which, in PrPro, will allow one to add the Cross-Dissolve automatically. Remember, also in Edit>Preferences, set the Video Transition Duration too.
Good luck, and let us know what works best for you. Also, keep an eye out, because if PrE does support Numbered Still Sequences, that will save you some time. Steve, Neale, John T., or another will verify that PrE has that capability, and where to locate it.

  • Problems with time lapse in Premiere Pro cs5.5

About a month ago I tried to make a time lapse with my Canon 7D.
I imported the pictures to Lightroom and exported them as JPG. Than in Premiere Pro I clicked on import, selected the first image and checked the "numbered stills" box. It all worked as it should.
Yesterday I tried to do this again. The only different thing is the cameras but I don't think that's the problem (it's the 5D mk2).
When I import the photos as numbered stills in premiere pro it and drop it in the sequence all seems ok. When I move the slider in the sequence forward and backward it also seemed ok at first but now it shows no pictures but only a black screen with some noise (like tv noise). If I export it there is no movie, just black screen with noise.
Where seems to be the problem?
When I drop it into the sequence I can also change the scale of the image to fit the screen and that all seems ok... :/
I can even play a preview inside the premiere pro and it's almost ok (it's not a smooth playback, but it plays as it should...tough it drops some frames).

    Welcome to the forum.
When Still Images show as black, the first things that I investigate is the pixel x pixel dimensions of the images. With many Stills, even if they are within the allowed pixel x pixel range, one's computer's resources can be used up, and an alternate workflow might be useful - Scale the Images to match the Frame Size of the Sequence, prior to Import, in a program, like Photoshop. This ARTICLE might be helpful.
The second thought is that the video driver is no longer performing properly, and needs to be updated. What is make/model of your graphics card, and what is the current number/date of your installed video driver?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Premiere CC 2014 unexpectedly quits every time I close a project

Premiere CC 2014 unexpectedly quits every time I close a project. We edit a lot of high end commercial work and everyone in the office has the same problem. Not impressed, seems so unstable.

I don't think the smartest PP person at Adobe could help you without more information.
What if the tables were turned and I was asking your question and you were an Adobe PP expert.
    You would want more information.
    Be specific about your situation.

  • Importing Time Lapse into Premiere CS4

Yes, I am new & Yes I have trawled through TFM and FAQs and am lost in info overload!
I need advice on setting up Premiere ready to import the sequence and once the movie is ready, the best export settings for uploading to Vimeo
I have made several time lapse (TL) sequences using a Canon 20D SLR (I also have a 5D2 but reluctant to use it for TL because of image/file size)
The 20D at the smallest setting give me an image size 1728 x 1152 and file size approx 950Kb per image. The average quantity of images per T/L sequence is 1400 images (frames)
I can import them as a sequence and run them as a movie but need to 'Scale as'.
Q1: Is this OK to import large images or should I resize them in Photoshop first? I don't want to go through that procedure if I can avoid it.
Q2: Can someone give/advise me of a Premiere 'Setup profile' to accomodate importing from a still camera sequence. I am confused by all the various options offered. I only want to view on a monitor.
Q3: According to Vimeo FAQ, they recommend H.264/AAC codec (MP4). What do other Vimeo users export as?
Q4: If I have setup Premiere 'Capture mode' (only 2 choises: DV& HDV) initially to DV and export the file as 640 x 480, Can I re export the same project as 1280x720?
    Many thanks.

    Thanks for your reply
Through trial and error I discovered the answer to the resizing before I read your reply. Had I still been struggling and in doubt, your efforts would have given me the answer I needed.
In fact I have set up a couple of batch resizes in PS with some post work (A sniff of smart sharpen) before saving to a 'resized' folder.
I haven't read your article as yet - just a quick scan - It looks very useful and I look forward to giving it the time it deserves. Thanks for your efforts.

First we need to check , whether the LAN settings is set to detect settings Automatically or not.
    Follow below steps .
1)Open Control Panel and then click on the option "Network and Internet" .
2)Click on Internet options, click on 'Connections' tab.
3)In the 'Connections' tab, select 'LAN' settings, you will be able to view the Local area network settings box.
4)Check the box-"Automatically Detect Settings" and then "uncheck" all the other check boxes like 'Use automatic configuration script', 'Use a proxy server' , Bypass proxy server' ,then click on ok button .
5)Click on "LAN settings" button again , make sure "Automatically Detect Settings" is the only option selected, keep the LAN properties window open.
Then launch Premiere Elements 12 and try to sign in.
If the settings were already set like that or you face same issue after signing in , let me know

  • Premiere Pro crashes when I open my project because the cursor is stuck on a time-lapse sequence

I have a Time-lapse sequence which I have just built and saved the project of, but my cursor has stopped on the time-lapse sequence. Premiere Pro does crashes when I open my project because the cursor is stuck on the time-lapse sequence.
My project was saved in Premiere Pro with the cursor stuck on my new time-lapse sequence. Now, Premiere Pro crashes when I try to open the project....Please help URGENTLY?

    >It may be a corrupt font, but I have thousands installed. Is there any way to test for that?
Reply #8 was specifically to address this question.
    >I basically wanted to know if this is a 3.2.0 issue or not.
That's not what you asked. Perhaps asking a specific question will get you closer to a specific answer?
The titler does not crash for me at any stage of the Adobe updates for Premiere Pro, including 3.2.

Does Photoshop Elements 13 have a "stop motion" or time lapse feature? I have been told that feature was removed from Premiere Elements 13. I want to make a time lapse movie using photos I have taken. What Adobe software is capable of this today?

It am not understanding clearly what program is not closing
    Photoshop Elements
    or
    Premiere Elements
There is the AdobePremiereElements.exe for Premiere Elements (video editing) and the PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe for Photoshop Elements (photo editing).
Right now you keep mentioning Premiere Elements, but I am seeing your description more like Photoshop Elements.
Please clarify so that we can focus on the correct program and try to resolve its problems.
    Thank you.

  • Clustering and Sun Unified 7000 series

    Greetings,
Just wanted to throw a question out here..
I've been demo'ing the Sun Unified 7000 Vmware image and I have to say... Wow!!! Kudos to the Fishworks Team. Very nice.
With that said, whats the outlook on being able to Cluster Messaging Server using NFS servers by these?
Right now, You have to run a NetApp, at least the last time I checked it was that way. I'd like to see these pop up quick as the standard for that.

  • Premiere Elements 12 takes a long time to load when on a network.

We currently have a user that uses the following version of Premiere Elements 12
    Version: 12.1 20140225.12.1.620828
Updater states that everything this up to date.
Laptop is a Lenovo T430 with 8gigs of RAM, 500gig HD, Intel 4000 Video Driver, Windows 7 professional on a domain. 3rd Gen i5 Processor.
When the user is on the network via his docking station, it takes a good 5 minutes before the program launches and appears after clicking on the icon.  It takes another 3 to 5 minutes to respond where the cursor is not spinning and you can click on the menu items.
Now, if the laptop is 'Off' the network either in the office or at the users home on wifi but not connected to the network, the program opens and responds with no issues what so ever.
Preferences are set to use and access everything on the C: drive.  Is Premiere Elements scanning the network drives for media and if so, is there a way to change that so it doesn't?

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
