Pt 880
Hello I purchased A MSI pt 880 lsr mother board, and found out it wasn't compatiable with my 3.0 ghz 1 meg cache p4(presscott Ready? nope)... I researched around and saw that flashing the bios to 1.4 would fix that so i attempted to flash the bios and the computer locked up I waited a hour and still frozen so i had to turn it off. Now when i turn my computer on I just get a black screen and a few beeps.. Im hopeing the mother board is just toast and not anything else...Would flashing the bios fry a processor
? thanks for your time... Also anyone thinking about buying a pt 880 i wouldn't suggest buying this if u have a p4 edition with a meg of cache .. or it will just give you a headache and waste your time.
Sounds like a bad flash. Since you just got it, take it back and say it doesn't work, you want a replacement. If you bought it at a computer shop, get them to flash the bios to the current version using a Northwood cpu.

1 month old MSI 560TI twinfrozrII 880/OC artifacts in multiple games (long)
I have had this computer for about 8 months and had to RMA my first card because it would artifact after being on for 3 days requiring a cold boot (a known problem that affects some 500 series cards from different manufaturers)
This new one lasted a month (I shut down every night now) before I started to get artifacts (these ones are different then the other ones though) and they only affect CERTAIN portions of games and not others ... for example a wall that flickers will always flicker and a wall that never flickers will never flicker... they are kind of rare in Everquest / Persona 4 but artifacting is common in BFBC2 and dead island to the point of making things unplayable in certain portions.
I have tried 275.33 and 280.26 without any noticeable difference
here are a ton of examples:
(Everquest - Wall flickering based on viewing angle)
(Persona 4 emulated w/ original disk -- retaining wall flickering)
(Persona 4 emulated -- misc flickering near the Barber Shop, Liquor store, shrine)
(Persona 4 emulated -- flickering pipe)
(Persona 4 emulated -- fridge wall flicker)
(everquest classic -- flickering character models belt, bracers and sometimes head ... goes and comes and is worse in some zones)
( bad company 2 -- flickering strip in the distance reminiscent of everquest and persona artifacts)
(bad company 2 -- flickering shed wall and some shadows flicker)
(bad company 2 -- weird shadow line that stops drawing (LOD?)
(bad company 2 -- near and medium distance lod popping at same time -- most likely game engine?)
(bad company 2 -- LOD pop in and general ugliness, never noticed this before)
(bad company 2 -- another poor place for shadow rendeing that gets cut off with a very visable line 25 feet infront of me)
(bad company 2 -- weird texture flicker on destroyed building in addition to some lod pop in on other building)

apply vga reference clocks then retest
Thanks for the reply Svet.
I assume you mean to use MSI afterburner and put the clocks at the default for 560 TI which are the following based on my googling?
MY card currently:
VDDC .9500V-1.000V (depending on 3d load and according to GPU-Z)
GPU clock: 880 MHz (the "sensors" tab reports this as 882.3 for some reason)
Shader clock: 1760MHz
Memory clock: 1050MHz
what you want me to change them to:
VDDC 1.0000 (which is default for this card IIRC I haven't unlocked voltage controls yet to check)
GPU clock: 822MHz
Shader Clock: 1644MHz
Memory: 1002MHz -

You can program the 880 to work with the Universal Dock with just the logitech software. Just add a Digital Music Server and when asked what Model it is enter "iPod Universal Dock". That's it. For some reason Logitech tech support says it can't be done but me and and a couple of friends have done it without any issues. -

AIR 3.9.0.880 StageWebView and Retina MBP
When I compile my app using AIR 3.9.0.880, my StageWebView is 1/4 size on my Retina MBP unless I pass true to the StageWebView constructor for the "useNative" parameter. Is this by design?
I have this set in my app descriptor:
<requestedDisplayResolution>high</requestedDisplayResolution>1. It works fine in AIR 3.6, 3.7 and 3.8.
2. Yes, see code below.
3. I'm testing on a 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.5.
Test code:
package
import flash.display.Sprite;
import flash.display.StageAlign;
import flash.display.StageScaleMode;
import flash.media.StageWebView;
import flash.geom.Rectangle;
[SWF(width="800", height="800")]
public class StageWebViewExample extends Sprite
private var webView:StageWebView = new StageWebView();
public function StageWebViewExample()
webView.stage = this.stage;
webView.viewPort = new Rectangle(0, 0, stage.stageWidth, stage.stageHeight);
webView.loadURL("http://www.adobe.com/");
stage.align = StageAlign.TOP_LEFT;
stage.scaleMode = StageScaleMode.NO_SCALE; -

Problem/question:
I can't figure out how to import midi timecode data from either an Ensoniq ASR-10 or Roland VS-880 Vxpanded into Logic Express 9, so I can then use Logic Express 9 as the master. No manuals seem to explain that; I just can't find it.
Background/basics:
1. My ultimate goal will be to move all midi data from the Ensoniq ASR-10 floppies and all digital audio files from the VS-880 into Logic Express 9. Once the midi timing is imported into a Logic Express 9 file, I'll import the data from the Ensoniq & Roland via steps 2a & 2b below.
1a. Ten years ago I somehow (am in the process of re-learning what I did 10 years ago) imported the midi timing into the Roland VS-880 Vxpanded from the ASR-10, and then used the VS-880 as the Master to control the ASR-10. So my current status is that I use the Roland VS-880 as the master, and the Ensoniq ASR-10 as the slave.
2. FYI for anyone who might be in the same boat, wanting to transfer stuff from an Ensoniq ASR-10 and Roland VS-880 to the computer:
2a. I will import all midi sequence data from my ASR-10 floppy disks via a utility purchased here, which will all a PC to read Ensoniq-formatted disks, and then just hopefully cut/paste midi files into Logic Express 9 (FYI only): www.chickensys.com
2b. Then will import all the individual WAV files from my Roland VS-880 to Logic Express 9 using a method learned here (FYI only): http://www.vsplanet.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=985974&PHP SESSID=b1d2f57be4a1d37d49787400213b22df
2c. I'll then combine them all into Logic Express 9.
So - how the heck do I capture/import the midi timecode into Logic from either the roland or ensoniq using midi?
I'm don't think that cutting/pasting the midi data into a Logic Express 9 sequence file (step 2a above) will do that, because there are all kinds of tempo & time signature changes in the midi files unfortunately.
THANK YOU and Merry Christmas!!
AndyOK doesn't look possible. Closing discussion.

What are the differences between SunFire 880 and v880?
What are the differences between SunFire 880 and SunFire V880?
Did a search for "SunFire 880" and found links to the V880 but nothing for the one without the V:
http://www.sun.com/servers/midrange/v880/There are four machines in the server room, two rather old and not in service right now, the other two are relatively new and are now in service.
The print on one new and one old machine is "*SunFire 880*" and
the print on the other two (one new and one old) is "*SunFire V880*".
No, it's not that the paint is chipped or any such thing and there is no space for a "*V*" in the print.
btw, of the two that are in service, both have the same OBP version, if it matters.
Hence it appears that Sun indeed sold machines with V and without V.
So, what are the differences?

Latest Version of AIR windows 3.5.0.880 will that fix all previous version
Hi
If i try to download latest and greatest version of AIR 3.5.0.890 -will the patch include 3.5.0.880 also
How does this work
Is there a way to find more information on what are the bugs the latest and greatest fixes
any thoughts or guidance would be highly appreciated.
Thanks again
sriHi Chris Campbell,
First of all, i am so happy that you took time to respond so quickly and promptly. We really appreciate the gesture.
Super news on the latest and greatest of AIR is actually 3.9.
Our question to you, Chris -if you dont mind or would be happy to talk on the phone if you have a minute
Work project number 1 843 501 1026 and Cellphone 1 407 310 7933.
What are we trying to accomplish is :
Our customer wants to ensure if we apply the latest AIR 3.9 -will that fix anything or issues which are in earlier versions. Whether all the bugs have been updated/fixed. Like in Oracle if we release
mega patch or latest patch, it should fix the previous versions.
This is for Dept of Defense we wanted to ensure this happens correclty, we give the information appropriately from the IA perspective for security reasons.
We have lot of CVEs which is suggesting to upgrade or update the patch-will all of them get resolved or consolidated or merged if we go to AIR 3.9
did i understand that correct.
here is my notes if you dont mind from notepad -there is no way to attach.
those lines are in excel -i am stating what is the solution so we wanted to merge or consolidate will the 3.9 resolve 3.8 or other AIR issues- thats our question. did i make sense
Pl advise
here are details
thanks again

Need to Unpair from Logitech 880 Every Time I "Watch Apple TV"
Hi,
I set up a "Watch Apple TV" activity for the first time today on my Logitech 880 remote. One problem I am seeing is that every time I select "off" on the Logitech to end the activity and then turn the activity back "on" again, I need to choose "unpair" from the remote to re-establish communications with the Apple TV. Can anyone tell me if and how this behavior can be changed?
Thanks!
Message was edited by: wextasyHi,
Thanks for the quick response. Yes I did. I also think this problem is resolved. It was stupidity on my part.
I just realized that the reason it wasn't working was that my activities were not mapped correctly to the Apple TV. Everything was working when I was in Device mode, but I needed to go through the Logitech setup again and specify the functions that the Apple TV should be performing when in Activity mode.

Upgrade my old Tandberg MXP 6000, 3000 and 880
I have to 3 Question
1. I am trying to download upgrade to F9.1 or higher for Tandberg MXP 6000, 3000 and 880
2. Is there any instruction on how to install them
3. and do I need a license Key for it.You can download it from either of the two locations:
Cisco website
TANDBERG FTP
Also, if you're upgrading from F8 or below, you can contact TAC and point them to this security advisory, with it, you can get the MXP F9.3.1 software for free without the need of a service contract.
You will need a release key if you're going from one major version to another, ex: F8 or below to F9. Minor versions don't require a release key, ex: F9.1 to F9.3.1.
Instructions on how to upgrade an MXP codec can be found in the Admin Guide, on pg 141. -
Epson Stylus Color 880 drivers no longer there, Utility2 does not recognize
I replaced Epson Printer Utility2 version 4.0 that Snow Leopard installed with the older 3.2 off the Leopard disk and still nothing.
All I can activate it with is the crappy Gutenprint driver. The Epson Stylus Color 880 driver is gone, and installing the driver from the Epson site does not fix it (epson13044). If I launch Utility2 or Utility 3, neither see the connected 880.
Not good, since the Gutenprint driver produces awful prints, and I have no utilities for head cleaning, etc. The 880 is still my workhorse.The EpsonSC880 driver (and Utility2) is not installed by Snow Leopard. You have to get it on the Epson site (in Europe, it is called epson318851eu.dmg) and run the installer under Rosetta.
Epson recommend to update it with their Common updater, also available on the Epson site (this updater is called epson13044.dmg).
Epson site :
for the driver : http://www.epson.co.uk/Printers-and-All-In-Ones/Inkjet/Epson-Stylus-Color-880/Dr ivers-Support?supportLandingPage=true
for the Common updater http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportSnowLeopard.jsp
To activate the driver, you have to delete the printer in System Preferences, then to recreate it.
I have done tonight and it works.
But when I print some photos with PS Elements, I have very dark pictures (I let PSE manage the colors and print without calibration). If you have any idea to fix that ... thanks in advance. -
Which model of my new X-Fi sound card? (880 vs. 886)
4Which model of my new X-Fi sound card? (880 vs. 886)O Hi,
I've bought this new X-Fi sound card yesterday.
My card is PCI Express X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro Series
My wonder why the model number is SB0880? I expected it has to be SB0886. I feel very confuse because I can not define version to download driver & application for it.
As I know:
- SB0886: X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Pro, X-Fi Titanium Fatalty Champion
- SB0880: PCI-Express X-Fi Titanium, X-Fi Titanium
I need to know which model of my sound card exactly. Some guys pls help me!
Thank you very much.
Message Edited by M4trx on 04-07-2009 :20 PMBoth cards are exactly the same with the exception that the Fatalty Pro version having an EMI shield and 64 MB of X-RAM (which to my opinion is more of a marketing gimmick then it is of any actual use). As far as I can tell, both cards do perform exactly the same in terms of gaming and SQ. The only problem is now the price... the Fatalty Pro version has a premium price over the vanilla Titanium card! So what did you pay for it'sMessage Edited by boon2 on 04-08-2009 0:7 AM

Need to replace my Water damaged power shot SD 880 IS ELPH. Mainly used taking photos of active toddlers. Liked the kids and pets setting on this camera, although the shutter speed was slow, especially when using the flash.
Want wide angel lens, easy to share and upload photos to iPhone,iPad, my Dell XP Home model windows computer and photo printing sites like Shutterfly and Mpix.
Confused about all the various power shot models and features offered. Please help. Thanks CookieHi CookieJ,
Thank you for posting. I am more than happy to help.
Based on what you are looking for, I recommend the PowerShot SX280 HS or the PowerShot ELPH 330 HS. Both offer a fair amount of zoom, wide angle lens, and built-in WiFi for easily connecting to your iPad, iPhone and home computer. They also have much faster image processors and Canon's HS System. The Canon HS SYSTEM lets you use higher shutter speeds to capture clearer images with reduced noise and blur in a variety of situations. They both use a CMOS image sensor instead of a CCD. This, coupled with the faster image processors, greatly improves tracking, continuous shooting speed, as well as autofocus speed. Feel free to look at both on our website, www.powershot.com.
