PTools Installation - Location of the Connectivity Program Directory?

After installing Oracle 10g, I have three BIN folders:
c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\BIN (contains 274 files)
c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\BIN (contains 495 files)
c:\Program Files\Oracle\bin (contains only regsrvr32.exe)
Which is the path that should be entered for the install window that asks the location of the Connectivity Program Directory?
I think it should be c:\oracle\product\10.2.0\client_1\BIN, because the three .ora files are in the directory structure under client_1, not db_1, and the window is asking for the **client** connectivity - am I right?

This is intended to be a development environment, with all software and the database on one machine.
Regarding the multiple directories, I installed both the oracle 10g database and the 10g client. Is it true that I don't need the client? Should I uninstall the client? Currently I believe that it's the client software that's running when I connect to the database via sqlplus, but I think that's because I installed the client after installing the database, and the client directory is first in my PATH variable.
Also, I'm not sure what this means: "verify you have your database entry in the corresponding ORACLE_HOME/network/admin directory" My database name has entries in the .ora files under both the client_1 and db_1 structures.

  • Is it possible to change the location of the user component directory in TS4.0

I would like to override the default location of the user component directory to a network drive / source control file system, in order to execute my own loginlogout sequence without having to deploy any files locally. is this doable in TS 4.0? If so how?

    Hi freak,
Unfortunately what you are trying to accomplish is not entirely possible.
You can move your user components directory to a network drive and then add a search directory and point it to that location. And then you can set that to a higher priority than the NI and User components folders so that location gets searched first.
However, the issue is some components need to be in a certain local location in either the NI or the User components folder and TestStand will not look in other locations for them. This includes the languages and the icons, and more importantly the FrontEnd and Station Callbacks. And the FrontEndCallbacks.seq file is the file that contains the login/logout steps and TestStand will not look in a different  search directory for them.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • Specify wallet location in the connect string

    Hi!
Can anyone tell me is there any way how an application can use autologin wallet to connect to database without wallet location specified in sqlnet.ora file? For example can you specify a wallet location in the connect string like hostname and a port number?
The reason I need this is to let our customers use Oracle autologin wallet to connect the application to DB. They would only need to specify the wallet location in the application's configuration file without editing the sqlnet.ora file.
Thanks in advance for answers or alternative ideas.

  • Forms Deployment: Location of the Templates\Release directory

    Hi everybody,
I would like to deploy my Forms 6i application using the Oracle
Installer. I have created the scripts (*.map, *.vrf, etc.) using
    Project Builder.
The Forms documentation ("Managing Your Applications") talks
about copying the contents of the Templates\Release directory
from the Oracle CD, but I could not find this directory in the
    6i CD.
    I downloaded both the D2K 2.1 & 6i Patch Sets from Oracle's FTP
site, but no luck there too.
Is there some other location that I should be looking at?
Any help would be most welcome.

  • Why does the NI-Fgen ver1.01 installation not install the example programs for msvc?

The installation is successful but the entire examples directory is missing, is there anywhere on the site where I can download these examples?

    erict,
If you selected Visual C++ as a programming environment during the NI-FGEN installation procedure, you should have the examples listed in c:\VXIpnp\win95\NIFGEN\examples\MSVC. If you are using Windows NT or Windows 2000, this directory will be c:\VXIpnp\winNT\NIFGEN\examples\MSVC. If the examples are not listed here, you can re-install NI-FGEN and select Microsoft Visual C++. NI-FGEN can be downloaded from the web at http://www.ni.com -> downloads -> drivers and updates -> current software versions -> NI-FGEN.

  • How to display an image located in the WEB-INF directory?

Basically, When a user registers, they a directory is created with their username that holds images that they can upload. How do I display those images. All I am holding in the database is the location of the images.
    ive tried
    <img src="/WEB-INF/users/testuser/picture.jpg" />
but this doesnt work and for obvious security reasons shouldnt.. but is there another way of doing what i want to do? perhaps a custom tag? thanks
    Jazz

You would have to write a generic servlet that would return an image
<img src="/getImage?user=testuser&pic=picture.jpg" />Your servlet would basically fetch the file from under web-inf, and then stream it back to the user.
    Methods to use:
servletContext.getRealPath() (to help find the file on disk), relative to your web app
    getOutputStream (as opposed to getWriter)
It is only in this way that you can access files on the server outside of the public web directories.
    Hope this helps

  • How can I change the default "Print to File" location from the Mozilla Firefox directory?

I have looked all over the Internet to find the solution to change the default of the location Firefox create the files created from the Print to File option. I have modified all of the instances of "print_to_filename" as one forum suggested. But, that was unsuccessful.

Autre façon : Ouvre un nouveau document. Il va être en A4. Dans le menu Fichier--->Format d'impression. Une fenêtre apparaît. Dans la ligne... Taille du papier, tu choisis... Lettre US; tu fais OK.

  • I installed on my computer the other SSD hard drive, and now'd like to install Photoshop and Lightroom that station and I do not the C drive. How do I get exchanged the installation location when using your Creative Cloud in your program.

Photoshop is installed on your C partition and how to get it installed on another partition now!

Heinonen Petri you can customize the installation location within the preferences for the Creative Cloud desktop application.  Please be aware that the Creative Cloud desktop application and many shared components will always need to be installed to the primary drive containing the operating system.

  • Where is the Flash program available - not the installer - the program?

For a week now, when trying to install Flash, a veritible necxessity these days like it or not, the program that I downbload that downloads the installler that will download and install Flash times-out on this computer Vista 64, a Vista 32, a Windoze 7, and a XP machine. I read and followed all oif the stuyff that blames the client. Now, will Adobe fix their end?
Or, provide a linlk to the actuall file that is the Flash program, not a downloader to download a installer to download the Flash program! Obviously, when Adobe times-out on a brand new fresh install of Vista 64, and new computer with 7 - it is not likely the client.
Oh yes, I had my ISP check, and the modem and router, and plugged directly in to mode bypassing router. Same time-out and, same stupid 'Here is why it's your fault client' messages.
Why not let some download sites, like Cnet, or Brothersoft or others store it there where can get it?
Half the work I do needs my browser to use flash. Maybe renaming the insaller to adobe_flop_version26445375483445389209.exe might help?
A good program doesn't need to be upgraded, updated or foxed once or twice a week.
I hope Googoyle can find a Flash alternative.

Check that you do not run Firefox as Administrator.
Right-click the Firefox desktop shortcut and choose "Properties".
In the Compatibility tab, make sure that Privilege Level: "Run this program as Administrator" is not selected.
You also need to check the Properties of the firefox.exe program in the Firefox program directory.
If you can't make the changes then you need to start Windows Explorer as Administrator.

Everytime it takes the path to the first keystore and all other changes to the path are not reflected.
Does anyone knows the problem. Is it with JNDI or JVM?

  • How do I get the install program to install in a different directory?

I think I know what the problem with FF. It is my computer hard disk. I think there is a bad sector where the program gets installed. Sometimes after the third attempt to get into FF it lets me reset and works. But as soon as I have a problem with FF and close FF it has problems again. Firefox on Windows is a 32-bit application and thus needs to be installed in "C:\Program Files (x86)"
    Only 64-bit applications belong in "C:\Program Files\"
