Public Event Calendar

How can I make an Event Calendar publicly accessible (i.e. users can see the events posted without login) while having the remaining calendars accessible to REMOTE_USER (protected by SSO)?
I don't want users to be able to add an Event Calendar with global agenda open to their favorites, I want to make it available via URL without login.
Any suggestions?

Hi,
It works here.
Control-Click the event and select 'copy'. Click on the calendar you want to paste the event to, so it is highlighted with a grey background. Then select 'paste'.

Public Folders calendars updates and refreshing issues

Hi,
We have calendars we use under the Public Folders, but for some users it does not want to refresh right away, so user A inserts an entry in one of the Calendars, they do not see the entry they just saved inside the calendar at all. They try to add the same
entry again they get message are you sure you want to delete this entry !!
But if they add an entry and go back to mail view and go back in calendar view on their Outlook 2010 they sometimes see the entry they just made and sometimes double entries for same event as well because of the "delete this entry " message.
So the public folders calendars are not refreshing right away when users are entering an event, and also at instances other users will not be able to see the event either till they close out of outlook and re-open it.
It is bit of a nuisance, found this thread with similar problem but they are talking about exchange 2010 we are on exchange 2013 with CU1 (too afraid to upgrade to CU2 because of all the horror stories).
Is there any other way to have these public calendars that might refresh faster instead of using the Public Folders, if i am not mistaken MS has always tried to get away from using Public Folders and their development has been poor.

If i do decide to jump to CU3 , can it be directly from CU1 to CU3 jump ?
- I have not used resource mailboxes but are they not just "mailboxes" i want users to be able to see the calendars and the events posted in them, these resource mailboxes seem to be more geared towards booking a room or some multimedia equipment.
Yes. You can go straight to CU3.
Sure, they are just mailboxes, but users can open the shared calendar. Most people probably use them for booking - true, but you can use it the way any want of course and keep it simple.

Public Foler Calendar Categories not Visible to Other User

My company uses calendars within the public folders for staff to be able to check their schedule.
When I add an event to one of those calendars, and change the category colour, I can see it, but none of the other users accessing the calendars can see them. It shows any text changes I've made, but no category. If those users open up the event, the category
name is even showing as selected, but the colour doesn't actually show up.
Any ideas?

There is no feature in Exchange server to manage calendar view in Outlook. Based on my research, it seems a known issue that Outlook does not recognize or coexist with color category in the public calendar folders since Outlook 2007.
If you want to see the same colored categories on all of your computers, you must create the same categories and colors on every computer. The following article is about share color categories for Outlook 2010:

Multiple Event Calendars on One Page

I have several event calendars on a webpage that are broken down by categories (IE: {module_calendar,48,c,94584} ). When I do this only the first calendar on the page will change dates. The other calendars won't change the date.
Is there a way to fix this? Is this intended behavior or a bug?
Note: I would provide the page but it is within a secure zone that charges a membership thus I cannot post access to it publicly.

Audtoschedule public wiki calendar

I don't have a lot of experience with large or even medium scale networks. I am currently trying to set up a mac mini server with 10.6 .7. Honestly I am very frustrated so far with snow leopard server. Given the advertisement for this server software being "easy setup" it has been anything but. The documentation is thin at best and mostly nonexistent. DNS and DHCP have been the big culprits so far. But I digress. I am trying to create a public calendar of events for our church through ical server 2. My thought was to create a public wiki calendar and then use calendarserver_manage_principals in the command line to enable autoscheduling. Mainly so someone (myself most likely...) wouldn't have to accept every invitation. Unfortunately I get this error;
Enabling auto-schedule for (users)publiccal is not allowed.
Can anyone help me figure out what I can do to get this working? The calendar must be public so we can use a wordpress plugin for our website.
Any help would be appreciated.

Same here. been trying to fix for 3 days!
10.6.7 on intel x-server. tried migrating old data, tried scrapping everything and starting from scratch. interestingly I have fixed the issue with personal calendars but the group calendars do not work. I tried 'matching' ssl settings. tried wiping /Library/CalendarServer and /Library/Collaboration (where group cal's seem to be)
It seems group calendar support is falling through the cracks.

Is there any Event Calendars that use a text file to load
events or an html admin to enter the events.
I want to publish my events to the public.

Public Holiday calendar not to be taken into account for Sick Leave.
Eg -When I employee applies for sick leave, the public holiday in between the dates shouldnt be considered. How can I configure this requirement.

For that group, you need 2 counting rules:
- one for Holiday Class 0 (not a public holiday) and Day Work Schedule Class 0 (not a working day)
- one for Holiday Class 0 (not a public holiday) and Day Work Schedule Class 1 to 9 (a working day)
If you want, you can add an other one or two for Holiday Class 1 to 9 (public holiday)

the error clearly saying that you dont have holiday calendar for 01.01.2012,, so please change it using PT02 to avoid the error.
then you check what exactly system is doing.
you have to create a wsr with one month extra validity than the exact periods required to avoid the future errors as you are getting now.
system always takes one month extra validity it is standard functionality.

As Surisetti told that, that public holiday might not created in that year. So check the same in SCAL and again re-generate the work schedule.

question, however, with this statement:

Building a Web-based Event Calendar using VB in aspx 4.0

Technical Article back in 2000, written by Scott Semyan (July 2000) titled "Building a Web-based Event Calendar" detailed an example of how to create a simple event calendar in asp.
I am new to aspx .NET codind (using VB), and I have attempted to recode to the newer framework to no avail. Do you have an update of this article for ASPX 3.0 and up?
And if not, is there sample code for me to use to create a web-oage using aspx with vb in 4+?

I'll move this to off-topic since you've been correctly pointed to forums.asp.net. I just want to mention that whatever that article was demonstrating is probably irrelevant in today's web development ecosystem. For example, an event calendar
is likely to be its own web control that you can just drop onto a web form (or otherwise instantiate in a web page). I know of a couple retail components that can do it and there are probably free ones available too. Even if you build your own
it will likely be little more than an existing calendar control with perhaps some custom rendering code.

Changes in events calendar

Hello I download this event calendar.
I try to change starting week from Mondays by changing this: firstDay = firstDate.getDay() + 7;and retyping days in function createCalendar()
But after that is not green marked present day. It is but in 2009 year.
I try to change also this: firstDate = new Date(String(monthNum)+"/0/"+String(yearNum));but it is the same.
Could some one help me. How to change calendar to starting weeks from mondays and left marking present day?

Issue with syncing bblink calendar + group events calendar into outlook 2003

Had a BB Curve OS 7, and I was able to sync my default calendar AND my BBM groups calendars in one single sinc.
Now, I have the Q5 OS 10.2.1 and I can not find for the life of me, how to sync my device calendars (personal and BBM Group Events calendars) onto my pc using Outlook 2003.
Called my carrier and they don't even know what to tell me. Can someone point me in some direction please!
PS I would also accept a solution using a cloud calendar (Gmail, Outlook.com...) I just want ALL calendars to be visible from my PC with one combine calandar view.
2014-02-22 UPDATE: Just installed BBLink 1.2.3, same issue.... No solution yet!

The OS7 calendar sync ONLY sync's the default calendar. Unless you merged your BBM group calendar entries (you would have had to move them to the default calendar using a special, and little known, documented procedure) into your default calendar you couldn't have had the BBM group calendar sync'd.
Regardless, the BBM group calendars will not sync to Outlook in BB10.

I'm building a component which serves as mediator between 3rd-party API and the rest of my app.
Basically, my problem is that I need to capture and handle some events sent by the API, do some work, and then trigger an event which will be used by my app. But, I must handle the API's event as fast as possible, and if I trigger a public event as part
of the handler procedure, I may get delayed by the event's consumers.
The code looks something like this

You are confusing me!!! Normally in .Net you have synchronous and asynchronous methods. Synchronous methods are blocking which means they don't return until all the read/writing is completed. Asynchronous methods are non-blocking. they are part of
an event handler and return when the available data is processed. The event handler can be trigger by lots of ways like with timers or when data is available.
Your code below you are not using a public event
extApi.StatusChanged += extApi_StatusChanged;
You are using a standard build in method in the Net library to register an event and to specify the event handler to process the event. All registered events are handled in the windows operating system. there is no way of speeding up the event
handling. Windows has a latency on the events that could be as much as 200msec. The latency is pretty constant and should effect the performance of the application as long as the amount of data being processed doesn't overload the PC youi are using.

Your architecture should look like the above. You need an executive that funnels the messages to the API. The executive will send one command to the API and wait for a response before sending a second command to the API. The executive can
also periodically send a command to the API to get status.  The executive will have an input queue from the clients and process the messages as they are received from the clients.
