Public Template SC doesnt take purchaseinfo record as SOS

Hi Experts,
We are on SRM4.0, SP 4 working on classic scenario.
We have an issue with Public template shopping carts. It appears
When users are trying to create a public template using an internal
material for which purchase info record has been maintained in the
backend R/3.The source of supply section doesnt show the vendor which
is maintained in the backend R/3 as preferred vendor automatically in
SRM.
This works fine with normal shopping cart and for the same material the
vendor is automatically selected as source of supply but it doesnt work
for Template shopping carts.
Is it a standard functionality of SAP or a bug in the system ? If it's a bug please suggest how to resolve the issue.

don't take this the wrong way, I know you are trying to help, but that wasn't helpful in the slightest. Yes I realise that they don't know me personally, and hence don't know what my actual birthdate is. When I fill in online forms I generally do them accurately. I have no idea how they have it wrong, but what I was really alluding to was, can someone please tell me how to contact Apple so they can do it manually. this is doing my head in royally, since I cant download any apps etc on any of my apple stuff, as my account has been frozen.

Howto use an existing record as template in a create new record form

hi all,
I have a table with configuration lines, Currently accessible via a report/form combination. This works fine to create, view & edit data.
However users often need to create a new record which is 90% like an existing record.
So what they want is to go to an existing record and use it as template for creating a new record (by clicking a button "create copy from"
My solution attempt
-when the button is pressed send users to the normal create form, and prefill some of the items with data from the "template record", after which everything is the same as creating a record from scratch
What did I try
- as above redirect user to the "create page" and sent the desired items values via URL Syntax. Failed since I have about 20 items and the button settings won't allow me to add more then 10 (besides it not a pretty sight)
- Instead of sending via URL I've tried only sending the record id for the template and have a "before header process" load the item values in session state. Failed since the page items are all (load form source each time) since they are database columns
Constraints for the solution
- No, I can't go first inserting a copy of the record and then display it in edit mode since the remaining 10% of the record can not to be copied because of table constraints. They have serious constraints, which needs user input.
- (and no I can't first insert dummy data, that's a poor man's solution)
- I'd like to reuse the current create/edit form since it contains quite some business rules and constraints. So dubbing the page will put me up with a double load of maintenance in case of future changes in business rules
I'd appreciate any good clues in solving this requirement

Hi Shunt,
Not entirely what I wanted accomplished but it held the key.
Removing the PK wouldn't trigger the DML to respond differently on it's own, since the DML decides the database action based on the request.
I have the create/edit page working on with a "COPY" request
This way I can call the page both from the report as the form page.
When called with COPY request the page is loaded as normal edit except
- I hide the delete and apply changes button
- I show the create button
When the create button is pressed a computation removes the PK
Since the create button is pressed instead of apply_changes it will indeed perform an insert

-     What is the difference between u201CPersonal tamplatesu201D and u201CPublic templatesu201D?
-     What is the meaning of u201CTeam shopping cartu201D?
-     How can the personal templates, public templates and team shopping carts be created and maintained, so they can searched for at a later point in time?

Hi,
SRM does not use the term "personal template" and "public template" for Shopping Cart.
There is "Shopping Cart template" which is like public template context.

Old SRM version had personal template but it is no longer required. "Old Shopping Cart and Template" search is available now.

Purchaser not able to change public templates

When Purchaser is trying to change Public Templates in EB he gets an error "Error in System;Shopping cart cannot be processed further". When he press OK he is directed to EB home page.

Hi,
If you want to get the exact error message, try to connect with the purchaser in SAPGUI, and launch the transaction.
It can be either an authorization process,or an attribute problem (the purchaser hasn't got the attribute values that correspond to the document data).

Is it showing error message during GarageBand install?
If so, I had this type of problem, and solved it by restating computer in Safe Mode (to enter Safe Mode you should hold "Shift" button on start-up while Apple logo appears).
Only trouble for me - my MacBook display was so dim in Safe Mode, that was a problem to see anything on the screen. But still, there are only few buttons to click during 2nd disk setup and I guess that "dark safe mode screen" could be only Mac laptop problem.

Create public template in wizard layout possible (SRM 5.0) ?

we are on SRM 5.0, SRM Server 5.5.
We want to use the shopping wizard and already applied some changes using the bbp_sc_modify_ui BADI. Still, this BADI is no help for some issues.
Is there a handy way for creating public templates (transaction BBPSC05), also in wizard layout?
the transaction uses the "scroll-version" with the vertical tabs underneath each other. We do prefer the wizard for our users...

I have dome my standard templates without problems, but when I try to change I get this error when I go to transaction BBPSC06 (with same user).

1. Insert the DVD/CD;
2. Open Disk Utility, and select the DVD/CD from the left side list (select the DVD/CD icon on top);
3. from the DU File menu select New | Disk Image from Disk 1;
4. Choose to format the disk image as DVD/CD Master, name the disk image and click Save;
5. When the .cdr file is finished select it with mouse and press COMMAND-I to open the Get Info and check the box to lock the file;
6. Choose the .cdr file from the left side list, click Burn, and insert a new, blank DVD or CD.

I think case is important, so do it like Shakir showed you, but put it in upper case.

At present purchase info record created in the backend is not taken as source of supply in SRM for Template shopping carts.We have a requirement for this functionality.
Has anybody done this development in their system, if so please suggest how to go about it.
