Publication Businness Objects XI3 (WebI reports)

Hi experts,
I am currently creating PDF publication based on WebI reports. My client refuse to use the standard access to publication files (right click on publication -> History -> left click on the instance -> access to the PDF) because he thinks that it is too complicated for end-users.
We proposed to use Business Objects Indox or to send the files by email but it has been refused.
Finally they want the PDF to be directly available into Infoview folders. A folder would correspond to one publication.
Do you know if it possible to publish the PDF directly toward these folders ? Do you have a solution to match with the customer needs ?
Thanks for help.
Best regards,
Bertrand

  • #multivalue error for detail object in webi report

    Hi,
I am facing #multivalue error in my webi report.
    I am using 2 queries
    Query 1
    Account Number
    Cost Center
    Query 2
    Account Number
    Order Number
Now I want to display Account Namer,Cost Center and Order Number in the report.
So I merged Account Number from both the queries, and created a detailed object "Order" and associated it with [Query 1].[Account number].
But Order displays values for some accounts, and displays Nulls and #MULTIVALUE error for some accounts.
Please through some light on this issue.
I tried every possible solution from my side, but couldn't get it work. It is happening because there is a 1:N relationship between Account Number and Order. I can not use any aggregate function because it will give only the Max or Min value, but I want list all the value of for each Account Number. Avoid Duplicate Row Aggregation was also checked but it didnot help.
    Thanks.

    Hi Shreya,
There are few things that you need to consider while displaying the data.
1 - Can an Account Number be associated to more than one Order Number?  If yes, then your solution will not work and that's the reason you are seeing #MULTIVALUE (i.e. Multiple Order Numbers for the same account number)
2 - Why would you want to create two data providers?  Would it not be possible for you to bring in all the 3 objects in the same data provider?  The only reason I could think of is that they are not related
3 - Always make the lower granularity objects common across the data providers.  I do not know about the relation between different entities of your database, but I would suggest something like
Query 1 - Order Number, Account Number
Query 2 - Order Number, Cost Center
and merge Order Number...and create detailed object for either Account Number / Cost Center.  It all depends on the relation between the tables.
Hope the above pointers help you.

    Srivatsa

  • ProcessdpCommandEx error when adding or removing object from WebI report (based on BEX query) query panel object list

    Hi,
We have WebI reports build on BEX using BAPI connectivity. When we are trying to add a object in query panel in a existing report we are getting this ProcessdpCommandEx error. But error does not appear when we add at the end of the list of objects already added.
Can you calrify whether this could be some setting issue or it is a known bug?
Can you share SAP Note No in case it is a known bug?

    Hi Avijit,
This error occurs in case of any failure in the connectivity. It is like the data providers are not getting processed.
You have mentioned that the issue does not come with newly created reports
Are you creating new reports on migrated universe or a newly created universe?
If issue only comes with migrated universe, please check if the connection has been migrated properly and required middleware and database connectors are in place.
If connections are in place, try importing and exporting the universe once and check.
In case, new report works fine with migrated universe, then you can simply try to re-point the universe by editing the query and can run it again and check.

  • Busines Object XI Release2 report in EP

    Hi,
I am in need a help of a how to integrate Performance Management Report generated in Busines Object XI Release2 with EP.
Please note that Busines Object XI Release2 is integrated with Oracle and not SAP.
I have tried couple of ways.
    1. I have created a "http connection" system and tries using URL iView but some how the SSO is not working as the login screen is appearing.
    2. Created another system with details of crystal report server in it and used master Iview of Business object for iView, but this time not sure what to enter for "Path of Crystal Enterprise Server" in my case. The iview is giving error "Invalid path /reportView was requested" for any of the enteires I am filing in.
Any help will be highly appriciated.
    Many Thanks,
    Vishal Dhawan

Looks like Crystal Reports is using log4j for logging, which is so badly designed that it throws a fit if the log4j configuration is missing.
All you need to do to get it to work is put a log4j.properties file in the classpath (google for a dummy file with default values). It usually needs to be put in the root of the classpath.
Or you can initialize the log4j logging for your own application properly and Crystal Reports will piggyback on it.

  • Not able to merge dimensions objects on webi report based on SAP query

    Hello
We are using SAP BI 7.0 , BO XI 3.1 sp1
I have two queries in webi report. These two queries are based on the same universe. I am not able to merge dimensions from both queries as merge dimensions functionality is greyed. Two dimensions are of the same type (char) and are dimensions (not the details).
    Does anyone know the reason?
    Thanks

    Hi,
First check your user ID has rights for merge dimension.may be you can try on other universe and see if it is still grayed out then possible rights issue.
or may be you can check below thread.

Could anyone please provide some solution.

  • WebI report throwing error when migrated from XIR2 to XI3.1

I have some webi reports built in BO XIR2 on OLAP universes (SAP BW3.5 based). Recently I have migrated the reports from old XIR2 environment to a new XI3.1 environment.
The specification of new system is as below:
    BO XI3.1
    SAP BW 3.5
No SP and FP is installed. (Actually when I tried to install the SP2, it failed)
After the migration, some of my reports are running for 5 minutes and then throwing an error like below:
A database error occured. The database error text is: Error in MDDataSetBW.GetCellData. See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details. (WIS 10901).
The same report is working fine in old system.
Has anyone faced this problem yet?
    Regards

    Hi Jacques,
    The transports are already imported.
What I can see is if there is a query with only dimension objects and no measure, then that is throwing error in XI3.1. But the same query is running fine in XIR2.
    Any Idea?
    Thanks and Regards

  • Some blank WebI report sent by publication

    Hello
    I'm working on BO XI 3.1 SP2.
I have created two webi documents.
The first one contains a report used to list the dynamic recipients of mail.
This report is filled and display : Ids, Full Name, destination mail adress.
    It contains undreds of recipients.
The second Webi document contains the datas I want to send to my recipients.
My publication is set with a personalization in order to limit the datas to the scope of each recipient.
For that I use two fields matching in the recipient document query and in the sent document query.
My publixation is scheduled once a week and works fine.
My problem is that some users receive blank reports with the normal publication.
When I try the test mode and I select these users as recipients, filtering the destination list by unchecking the tick box in the dynamic destination screen, I receive the Excel file all filled.
So Can you please help me explaining why my excel files are blank with the normal publication and filled with the test mode.
This problem doesn't appears for all users.
    Lot of thanks
    Getdaone

    Hi Getdaone,
First off you are not supported under XI3.1 SP2 for Product fixes, so I would recommend you upgrade to a supported patch level, i.e. SP3 or SP4.
There a few known bugs with Publications delivering blank reports.
Please check the following SAP Notes to see if any match your workflow:
1540031 - Scheduling a Web Intelligence publication does not return data.
1630285 - Empty report tabs appear in webi report when scheduling through publication.
1539855 - Users get blank Web Intelligence reports from publications with profiles when the report is saved without data in BOE XI 3.1.
1570436 - Publications containing multi-query Web Intelligence reports scheduled to dynamic recipients is missing data or sends blank reports
The bug described under 1570436 is apparently fixed in FP3.7 which should be out in December.
    I hope this helps <<Text removed>>
If not then I would suggest raising a support message with SAP.
    Kind regards,
    John

  • Bursting Webi Report with Publication

We are on XI3.1. I have been able to get a Publication to burst a Webi document and distribute to recipients using static values manually entered for each user in the Profile. What I am trying to do now is to burst and distribute a report using a user attribute such as a number associated with each user, where no static values are entered for each user. I have been reviewing the XI3.1 Publisher's guide, however I'm still not quite sure how to associate the User with the number and to filter the data in the report for each user. I do have a table in the Universe that contains the Userid and there number. I need help understanding how the Profile targets, Profile Values, and Publication relate to each other with what I am trying to do.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
    Mike

You need to use a DESKI/WEBI/CRYSTAL Document as a source for the dynamic recipients; the data in this document will be derived from the table in your universe, but it MUST contain (1) a Unique identifier per recipient (the 'number' you associate with a user), (2) Recipient Full Name and (3) Recipient Email address. Any other information you specify with each of these users will be available to you to personalize your publications.
Once you do this and is configured correctly then the Dynamic Recipient Dialog in the Publication properties will make more sense.

  • Schedule XI3.0 Webi report to Inbox

    Hi there,
    my customer schedules a simple Webi report to Inbox and it fails with the error;
"login error. [Internal error: Unable to initialize the session manager.]: [CrystalEnterprise.Managed]

    Hi Prashant,
The users have the "Schedule to Destination" rights and the Destination plugin is configured\enabled on the Adaptive Job Server.
The problem seems to be with the Adaptive Job Server, logging in and\or launching the Session Manager, but only when the Destination is Inbox.
I know that the Adaptive Job Server can request the report from the Input File Repository Server then connect to the database to retrieve datau2026finally copy the report to Output FRSu2026however whichever service\subcomponent is responsible for then copying it to the users Inbox canu2019t do sou2026 I assume the users Inbox is actually a meta data configuration which is held in the CMS configured databaseu2026 so it must be inserting\updating a record somewhere which it canu2019t do for some reason.
Do you have any ideas on gathering further information on the Session Manager?
    Thanks,
    John

  • Objects used in a Webi Report

    Hello Friends,
I need to identify all the Webi reports in BI 4.1 that use a particular object from the universe. I have never used RESTful Web Services SDK before, Does anyone have a sample code that I could use as a starting point to get this info?
    Regards,
    -CF

    Hi Chris,
I guess you wont find someone posting a complete sample for your question.
The task itself is not that complex and can be achieved with the REST webservices.
Basically you need to use the webservice endpoints for the semantic layer and the web intelligence sdks - usually http://<server_name>:6405/biprws/sl/v1 and http://<server_name>:6405/biprws/raylight/v1
With the semantic layer you fetch the universes
         - <slURL>/universes
then the universe details with the outline
         - <slURL>/universes/5808
There you can identify the object and then use the webi sdk to fetch all documents
         - <webiURL>/documents?offset={offset}&limit={limit}
iterate through them and get the list of dataproviders
         - <webiURL>/documents/{documentId}/dataproviders
    then the dp details
         - <webiURL>/documents/{documentId}/dataproviders/{dataProviderId}
There you go with all the information you need.
    Hope this helps
