Publication Date...

Publication Date...
Is there a way to migrate a service and use the publication date to set the date it will become orderable? It doesn't seem to do anything. I thought if I set an expiration date (much like delegating authorizations) it would work, but it seems like they are dummy fields... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
Charlie

There is no system behavior associated with either the Publication Date or the Expiration Date fields. They function only as a manual flag that the service designer can use for reference.

• 'Hiding' a (published) podcast until a future publication date

I have a valid XML feed.
How do I 'hide' items from view until a date in the future?
I have

set for example, but the podcast still shows up as available now.
How can I publish but not make an item available/visible until a date in the future?

Roger,
I assume that you want it to become available at a specific time because you aren't able to upload it at that time, so you want to pre-upload it?
Exactly
I have infinite control over when - just that it's a podcast with more than a dozen episodes, each one of which needs to become available/visible at intervals of a week.
I suppose I'll just have to do a lot of pasting... write the whole file with all its
s and add them each week?
Thanks!

• Project Server 2010 - Modification date and name of the person who made the last change in the project

Hello everybody
I'm with a doubt.
I got in the business
environment Project Server 2010 and
would like to get the publication date, modification
date and name
of the person who made
the last change in
the project. It is possible
to doby the native

there any query in
SQL Server to perform a
query of this information.
Thank you.
Obrigado por contactar o fórum Microsoft Technet!

Hi Hezequias,
You can get the ProjectModifiedDate column in MSP_EPMProject_userView in the Reporting DB where you can
get the data based on the projectUID.
The "last saved" date in the draft DB (be aware that querying in the draft DB is not supported by MS).
For the "last modified by", I think it is not stored in any place.
But you can develop custom code upon publishing the project (Event BeforePublish), writing the current
date and username automatically into a custom enterprise field.
Hope this helps,

• How to record first-published date in metadata for use with US Copyright Office?

Hello,
I'd like to record the date when an image is first published in the image's metadata. This is useful for when I need to send group submissions of published works to the US Copyright Office. Can anyone advise as to the best place to record this information using Lightroom's metdata fields?
Many thanks in advance,
Matt

I haven't found a field for this in Lightroom itself. It only seems to support Date Created, not the first Publication Date which is essential for copyright registration. For now I'm sticking Publication Date in the Instructions field, but I don't know if that's the best solution.
A Publication Date field is available as part of the PLUS for Lightroom plug-in, which adds fields that support the PLUS image rights standard. It's a bit pricey, but if you run a business that does this all the time it might be worth it.
You can see the plug-in's Publication Date field being used toward the end of the Part II demo movie at the PLUS for Lightroom plug-in site.
What's interesting is that Lightroom 3 contains an "IPTC Extension" metadata panel that says PLUS Version 1.2.0 at the bottom, but this panel doesn't contain a Publication Date field. If you look at the XMP reference for PLUS Version 1.2.1, it lists a First Publication Date field. I don't know if that field got added in PLUS 1.2.1, but it's definitely missing from Lightroom 3.5.
In the Lightroom feature request forum, the closest request I found was this one, so it might be worth adding a request for a Publication Date field.

• Withdrawing a Publication - E-Recruiting

Hi gurus,
Help Sap says:
Withdrawing a Publication
Use
You can withdraw publications that you have published in your intranet or in the Internet. The associated job posting is then no longer visible to candidates.
You can also withdraw publications in job boards, newspapers, and so on if you made the relevant settings for this in Customizing.
You withdraw a publication if the relevant job is already filled, or if the conditions for the job posting have changed significantly.
Procedure
1. In the Edit Requisition dialog box, choose the Job Postings tab page.
2. On the tab page in the Published Job Postings area, choose Withdraw in the table of publications. This function is available in the Withdraw column for all publications that permit withdrawal.
3. Choose OK to confirm that you want to withdraw the publication.
Result
You have withdrawn the publication. The system changes the status of the publication from Published to Withdrawn.
Once a publication has the status Withdrawn, you can no longer change the status or edit the publication.
PUBLICATION DATES
start:
RCF_POSTING_START_DATE
is well -> the publication has effect on the date you specify
final:
RCF_POSTING_END_DATE
is not well -> the publication is not automatically removed when it reaches this date
How to make the publication is removed automatically?
THANKS IN ADVANCE, SONY

Hello,
In addition to what Roman has said, you also need to have set the send method, i.e assign value for parameter TF_SEND_METHOD in T77RCF_MDL_PRM. This is configuration to detremine whether you want candidates to send them e-mail from your mail server with personal message or you can configure to have the user send thorugh his/her personal e-mail address. If you choose client, when the user clicks on Tell a Friend, the system automatically opens a new window of the user installed and configured email (like Microsoft Outlook) with the link inside, or user has to copy and paste the generated link and paste in an e-mail to send to a candidate. You have to add the following through SM31 in view V77RCF_MDL_PRM:
Parameter = TF_SEND_METHOD
Description = 'Send mechanism used for Tell-A-Friend service'
Parameter value = ' '
In T77RCF_MDL_PRM you can then assign either OFF(Hide functionality), MAILTO (Client method exclusively), REGONLY (Only registered candidates can use), MAILTO_REGONLY(Only registered candidates can use client), ' ' blank means all candidates can use the server method.

Hello,
We have a requirement where we have to search assets and sort assets via some date attribute (Article Publication Date) using Lucene Search. There is no issue in searching and displaying results in any order we want.
Problem occurs when some assets don't have "Article Publication Date" value as it is optional and hence, we don't know how the sorting is decided of assets is decided when the output comes after lucene search? Can anyone suggest?

• BAPI_ADMGMTSO_CHANGE for change billing data set of mam order

Dear,
i change Start of Copy/Publication Date Period of mam order using BAPI_ADMGMTSO_CHANGE this bapi but the billing dataset can't change it's date(i.e serv.date,edservdate).
Give the solution for above problem.

Hi,
in this BAPI 'BAPI_ADMGMTSO_CHANGE' you have to pass update parameter.
for example you are going to change item data, then you have to update
item table and itemx table.
and check the documentation of the BAPI.
Test program is also avilable for this BAPI. in SE37 give the BAPI name and click the 'Where used list' button, it will show the test program.

• Publication in e-Recruiting 600

Hello all
I need your help. We have been using e-Recruiting 600 in our company for a half of a year already.
And recently we have faced a problem: publication doesn't appear neither in the Internet and Intranet.
We checked all dates and statuses and they look Ok.
Also I thik that it is not a problem of authorization because one requisition was done by this user and was normally visible for candidates.
Could somebody give me advice what I should check to find a reason for the problem?

Hi,
so far the description is correct.
When you create and release a publication instance for channel internal [0001] or external [0002] the system writes an entry into into table T77RCF_INT_PUB / T77RCF_EXT_PUB. when the publication reaches its start date it is processed by the periodical service and the periodical service checks the published flag in the table.
I refered to this table as you can check there if the publication is correctly processed by the periodical services. if the flag is not set although the publication date is reached there might be trouble with the periodical services.
when the end date of the publication is reached the periodical service unpublishes the publication on trex and deletes the entry from the table.
If you withdraw the publication while it is published the application sets the withdraw flag in the table to inform the periodical service to unpublish the publication on TREX. When this is done the entry will also be deleted from the table.
If the entries in table T77RCF_INT_PUB / T77RCF_EXT_PUB are ok I'd try to refresh the search profiles EXT_POST and INT_POER via IMG. Check the SLG1 for entries - if anything is wrong with publishing there shoud be entries. Then wait till the periodical services are done and the TREX had some time to process it's internal stuff. Then check again if the publications are still missing.
Best regards

• Unwanted Publication

I had set up a demo so that I could illustrate the way iTunes U makes use of category data from our content server. I planned on using preview mode in iTunes U Public Site Manager.
Well, the meeting was postponed so I just left it in place and unpublished. Checking on the public site today, I was astonished to find my demo had gone published. Checking with the other two people who have access, I learned that neither of them had hit the "Publish" button. We're all mystified now.
So, is there an automatic publish function that gets triggered after a certain amount of time has passed or some other trigger?

There is no system behavior associated with either the Publication Date or the Expiration Date fields. They function only as a manual flag that the service designer can use for reference.

• Epubcheck fails to validate ID CS 5 date value

Hello,
I applied for an appication with Apple to distribute my ebook via their iBookstore. In Apple's specifications it says my epub file "Must" past epubcheck 1.0.5. I downloaded epubcheck and ran the code in Terminal. There was a minor hyperlink error, which I've fixed, however, I can not get rid of the following error.
epubcheck 1.0.5
ERROR: /Users/Digital/Desktop/XXXX-eBook.epub/OEBPS/content.opf(2): date value '' is not valid, YYYY[-MM[-DD]] expected
Thinking that it could be an epubcheck program error I downoaded the newer version...
epubcheck 1.1
ERROR: /Users/Digital/Desktop/XXXX-eBook.epub/OEBPS/content.opf(2): date value '' is not valid. The date must be in the form YYYY, YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD (e.g., "1993", "1993-05", or "1993-05-01"). See http://www.w3.org/TR/NOTE-datetime.
I've done some research and found this fix:
Troubleshooting the epub’s ‘date’ metadata
(http://ebw.co/kbase/creating-epub-from-indesign/after-indesign-export-to-epub/add-metadata)
If you check your epub with epubcheck version 1.0.5 or later, you may get this error message:
ERROR: title.epub/OEBPS/content.opf(2): date value '' is not valid, YYYY[-MM[-DD]] expected
To fix the date: in the metadata section of your content.opf file, replace this code

with this

That date’s an example, of course. Change that to your publication date. (If you don’t have a
tag, just add the line.)
So now the question - why does ID CS 5 not output the date properly, and how do I open the opf file to insert the corrected code? Or is there another way - or have I failed to insert a date somewhere in my ID file. If so...where do I do that?
Thanks.

Ok, I got it fixed. I found this article: http://www.webvivant.com/fixing-InDesign-epub-2.html
"...As content.opf is just a plain text file, you can open it with your favourite text editor. Make sure you use a text editor and not a word processor - you want something that can save ordinary text files."
I opened the content.opf file in TextEdit and found the
empty as epubchecker suggested. I replaced it with this:

I opened my eBook file with Springy (http://www.springyarchiver.com) and replaced old content.opf with the newly saved file. Ran epubcheck again in Terminal and got these results.
No errors or warnings detected
Hope this helps someone in the future...

• Cffeed error parsing dates

Hi Everyone,
We use CF 8.0.1 on a windows server with java 1.6.0_16 and just recently we starting seeing issues with feeds parsed with cffeed showing incorrect published dates for the items. The feed has the correct date and I have dumped the feed before the cffeed tag (using cfhttp) and compared it to a dump of the items query. The publish date of the items appears to rotate through 5 possible dates: the correct date, a date a few days before the correct date, a date a couple of weeks before the correct date, a date about a month and a half before the correct date, and a date about a year before the correct date.
The feeds are RSS feeds that displays correctly in other feed readers and it occurs in feeds from several sources.
Has anyone else seen this issue before or have any ideas about what may be occurring? We hadn't had any reports of issues with it before the beginning of this month and we haven't changed our server setups (as far as I have been told anyways).
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Rob

RSS should be using an unambiguous format.
See http://www.rssboard.org/rss-specification, which says this:
pubDate The publication date for the content in the channel. For example, the New York Times publishes on a daily basis, the publication date flips once every 24 hours. That's when the pubDate of the channel changes. All date-times in RSS conform to the Date and Time Specification of RFC 822, with the exception that the year may be expressed with two characters or four characters (four preferred).
And RFC-822 details the format:

• Apple rejection for failure to purchase subscription

One of our iPad apps built using DPS Viewer Builder (Version 2.1.130) has been rejected for failing to purchase a subscription successfully. I've submitted a sprint 20 and sprint 21 viewer, and both have apparently exhibited this bug and been subsequently rejected. See Apple's reason (identical for r20 and r21 viewers):
Jun 29, 2012 01:30 PM. From Apple.
2.2
We found that your app exhibited one or more bugs, when reviewed on iPad (3rd Gen) running iOS 5.1.1, on both Wi-Fi and cellular networks, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.
When the user attempts to purchase a subscription, an activity indicator is displayed indefinitely and the subscription is not purchased. If the user quits the app and restarts, a blank screen is displayed in the storefront and the app freezes.
So far I have not been able to reproduce this bug. On my developer and adhoc builds, subscriptions purchase successfully each time. Obviously storefront issue (we have a custom html store) is ours to debug but I need to reproduce this subscription error in order to do so.
Has anyone else seen this issue? If so, do you have a more specific and reliable reproduction sequence to get it to happen?

Do you have renditions in place for your folio? If so, please make sure the folio title, productID, and publication date are exactly the same. For the publication date, you need to set it manually to ensure that the timestamp is precisely the same as your other rendition files.
If that isn't your case, please follow up with me at <mailto:> with your productID and I'll do some research.

• Embedded youtube video not showing up in IE

Ok, I dont know whats wrong here. Im redesigning a site and Im trying to embed a youtube video. It works fine in ff and in chrome but nothing appears on my page at all in IE. Ive looked on every forum i could for the answer but no one seems to really have one that I already havent done. Ive checked everything i need to in tools/internet options, as well as in control panel. I tried uploading another video and i get the same problem. ALSO, I tried making the video real big on my page just for kicks...in ff, it showed up and my whole page was out of whack. I checked in IE and everything was how it should be but without the video. So apparently IE isnt picking it up at all. Code is below and video is in RED. Forgive the amount of text. I never seem to paste enough of it in. Please take a look.
Note: using asp for this site so thatswhy you wont find
or
tags. Code is also a little messy but my job is to just re-design whats already there.

You added a couple of spaces to the Youtube code.
Change:
& border=1
to:
&border=1
in two places so that it matches the code from the Youtube embed code. Or copy the code from Youtube again. The result:

It works in my test.

• BO XI3 Publisher / BO XI 3.1 Publisher

Business Objects Publisher (6.1b) is used to send out reports to users on any changes detected in our Application.
Every hour these reports are scheduled, and if there is data, reports are dispathced to users.
Right now we are implementing this logic through BO report---
BO query retrieves changes in the database from the last date and time the report ran.
Currently we are using DS_Pending.Job_End Date Time
and based on the output, it retrieves email addresses and Restricts duplicate emails sent to users.
We are using DS Pending and OBJ_M_Documents BO Repository tables for this
DS_Pending Table - For document name,DS_Pending.Job_End Date Time, Job status = success.
OBJ_M_DOcuments - To get the Document id
The various process involved are: BO Publisher, Scheduler, Lotus Notes, updating Bo Repository table- DS_Pending.
BO 6.1 b is unstable and throwing errors and so we are constantly Monitoring to make sure that emails are being sent to users.
So we want to upgrade to latest version of BO,which supports all these features.
I want to know if all this is possible through BOXIR3 Publisher or through BOXIR3.1 publisher.
AS we don't have a concept of Repository in BOXIR3, how can we implement the same process.
1.Does BOE XI 3.0 work on Windows 2003 32 bit platform?

4.Does it allow us to "Burst" a report and deliver it to different destinations (1 report --> N destinations)
